Lee Jun-ho Leads Typhoon Family on Netflix
Typhoon Family is an upcoming K-drama that will take you on an emotional journey through South Korea in the 1990s, during the IMF financial crisis of 1997. This series will only be available on Netflix starting October 11, 2025. It will have 16 episodes full of emotional highs and lows, and it will be directed by Lee Na-jeong and written by Jang Hyun-sook. At its heart is a great cast that brings to life the struggles of everyday people who turn their problems into hope. Here are some more details about the main characters.

Lee Jun-ho as Kang Tae-poong
Lee Jun-ho from 2PM takes on the role of the carefree heir to Typhoon Trading Company after his charming turn in Netflix’s King the Land. Tae-poong, the wealthy “Orange Tribe” youth who had to grow up quickly after his father’s death and the economic crash, uses warmth, responsibility, and unyielding grit to save the family business.
Kim Min-ha as Oh Mi-seon
The breakout star of Pachinko plays the strong eldest daughter who has to balance her family responsibilities with her career dreams in a tough time when men are in charge. As Typhoon’s dedicated bookkeeper, Mi-seon shows quiet strength and fierce determination, making her an unlikely ally in Tae-poong’s fight for survival.
Veteran actors round out the cast by adding depth to the family and work relationships:
Sung Dong-il (It’s Okay to Not Be Okay) and Kim Ji-young (When the Camellia Blooms) play Tae-poong’s grounded parents.
Kim Min-seok (Start-Up) plays Tae-poong’s loyal best friend, bringing friendship to the chaos. Mu Jin-sung as his clever rival, which caused tension and growth.
Jin Seon-kyu (Extreme Job) plays a key supporting role, bringing his trademark intensity to the corporate storm.
