At her core, Nicole is a storyteller—whether she’s interpreting a jazz standard, belting our classic rock or performing her own compositions in her home country or elsewhere in the world. Being named the first Filipina ambassador for Shure Microphones reflects more than an achievement, it’s a natural extension of her journey. This breakthrough marks a moment where timing, trust, and years of work come together—Nicole’s 20 years in music, Shure’s 100-year legacy, and JB Music’s 50 years excellence and supporting artists in the Philippines. Three milestones, Three Different journeys. One purpose. Shure celebrated their 100th year anniversary and new partnership with JB Music Philippines (who also celebrated their 50th anniversary) where Nicole performed as Shure’s launching artist, she was then named Shure’s first Filipina brand ambassador (for music).
Built to Last For nearly a century, Shure has been part of those moments — when the voice has to carry, when the sound has to hold, when what’s being shared needs to be felt, not just heard. In those moments, Nicole writes and performs for the ones who sit with their feelings a little longer than most. The ones navigating reinvention. The ones healing quietly. The ones who live somewhere between nostalgia and now. That only happens when nothing gets in the way and people can focus on the music. “Reliable gear is a big factor—it makes me breathe and sing easier,” Nicole says. In the Philippines, JB Music has spent 50 years making that possible, giving artists access to tools they can trust as they find their voice.
Now, that shared understanding comes together in Nicole’s partnership with Shure, as she takes the stage with the Super 55 (launching soon) — an iconic microphone rooted in decades of music history that stands as part of that continuity—where past and present meet to help all types of voices find their place.
From One Stage to Another Filipino voices have always carried stories across borders. What’s burgeoning now is how far and fast they can reach others, how many of our stories get to be heard through song. After all, what seeps into our consciousness isn’t just the performance… when our stories are told through song, the singing stays with us, reminding us that music is a phenomenal shared experience, carried from one listener to another, long after the stage lights fade.
Following her residency at Café Carlyle in Hong Kong, Nicole took the stage in Taipei, becoming the first Filipino artist to perform at Smith & Wollensky. From one room to another, the journey expands—without losing its center. When she performs abroad, she carries pieces of home with her. Sometimes in language. Sometimes in phrasing. Sometimes in something less visible, but deeply felt. There might be someone in the room who doesn’t understand every word — but understands exactly what she means. That exchange is the point. With a global presence that has long supported artists across borders, this partnership with Shure allows that exchange to travel further — amplifying the voice of local stories and carrying them onto wider audiences, without losing what makes them personal.
Music Never Dies, It Adapts No one could have predicted how the world would shift and sway after the pandemic pause, years later, there seems to be a passionate resurgence for nightlife, but not just the kind we knew before, younger Filipinos have been embracing speakeasy culture, low wattage lighting and jazz. The streets of Manila glimmer madly under the newly installed neon signs and deep crimson glow of scores of venues putting on “jazz nights” across the metro. The perfect backdrop for a Shure Super 55.
“Both the local and global music scene is embracing a resurgence of the classics and jazz influences in modern music, Here in Manila, there have been so many “jazz nights” and speakeasies popping up across the metro, younger crowds stumble in ordering martinis and classic cocktails singing along to standards in dimly lit bars— like the olden golden days, It is an unexpected renaissance of the jazz age influence right about a century later with the quirks and complexities of modern day Filipino style— the perfect blend of old meets new.” – Nicole
There were times when many questioned Nicole’s choice switching genres from her former rock inclinations, but who would have known that choice she made over a decade ago would take her exactly where she was meant to be today — an influential figure amongst the younger ones in this realm, smiling ear to ear, Shure 55 in hand, knowing that perhaps surpassing the doubt from naysayers was worth it. After all, reinvention doesn’t mean that you no longer love other kinds of music, it simply means you’ve unlocked new parts of your story through other forms of artistry. It goes to show that even when nothing is certain, keep doing what you love. You never know how your own story goes unless you write it yourself.
The energy of live music once again filled the campus as KDR Music House successfully mounted the third leg of its Campus Tour last March 24, 2026 at La Verdad Christian College Apalit.
Following its first two exciting stops at Arellano University and La Verdad Christian College EDSA Caloocan, the tour continues to bring original Filipino music closer to the youth—this time, to an enthusiastic crowd of La Verdarians in Pampanga.
The lineup featured a diverse roster of rising artists from KDR Music House, including Vince, a Young OPM Storyteller whose heartfelt performances connected deeply with the crowd; Eloisa, the Queen of Busking, who captivated students with her soulful stage presence; Destiny, an acoustic mood curator who took the audience on a rollercoaster of emotions; and Hakki, an emerging pop artist who energized the audience with her dynamic sound and performance style.
Each artist brought their own unique flavor, delivering a mix of well-loved covers and original tracks that resonated deeply with the audience.
Audience participation added even more excitement to the event, with students eagerly joining Hakki in her lively “Halo-Halo” Dance Challenge, turning the campus into a vibrant dance floor.
From the first note to the final performance, the La Verdarian crowd showed overwhelming support—singing along, cheering, and fully immersing themselves in the music. The connection between the artists and students created an unforgettable atmosphere, proving once again the power of music to unite and inspire.
The KDR Music House Campus Tour continues to serve as a platform for emerging talent while fostering a deeper appreciation for Original Pilipino Music among students across the country. With two successful legs already completed prior to Pampanga, the tour is steadily building momentum—bringing passion, creativity, and live music experiences to campuses nationwide.

Ahead of his WHATEVER’S CLEVER! WORLD TOUR starting next month, Charlie Puth has released his highly anticipated fourth studio album Whatever’s Clever! via Atlantic Records. Listen HERE.
“I had to take a closer look at myself to make this record and sing about things I normally wouldn’t sing about,” says Charlie on Whatever’s Clever! “Audiences knew my music more than they knew me because I never really gave them a chance to know me. This is the chance.”
Immersed in classics from Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, and Philip Bailey, embracing sounds like the Yamaha CP70 and experimenting with techniques during sessions at his home studio, “I knew I wanted to make a rich, warm, and big-sounding record,” he states. and found the perfect collaborator in co-producer BloodPop®
“BloodPop® pushed me to use sonics I hadn’t touched before, to sing about subjects I’d never sung about, and write songs that might’ve made me uncomfortable in the past,” he admits. “The best singers don’t flawlessly sing on pitch, the guitar goes out of tune, or the record skips. If A.I. is going to take over the world, we decided to be as human as possible. It only took a couple of songs with BloodPop® pushing me, then I was pushing myself.” Last night, the multi-Diamond and award-winning artist appeared as the lead guest and performer on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, performing his latest single “Sideways” alongside Coco Jones. A blissed-out ’90s-inspired R&B love song, “Sideways” features Puth’s close friend and collaborator Coco Jones, who first joined him to debut the track live during his Blue Note LA underplay shows last winter and also appears on the official studio version.
Watch Charlie Puth perform “Sideways” featuring Coco Jones on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
“Charlie is such an incredible artist, constantly refining his craft.” Shares Coco Jones, “We had so much fun bringing “Sideways” to life, and it was such an honor debuting the song at Charlie’s Blue Note show together in Los Angeles. I’m so excited that the world can finally hear it!”
Charlie Puth shared, “I love working with vocalists who can take a song to the next level – and Coco did just that. When writing Sideways, I wanted to evoke a very cinematic picture through the chords and melody. And this vision came alive the moment Coco sang into the microphone. She is an incredible artist and it’s been a joy to work with her on this.”
Other sonic delights taken from his latest body of work, out today, include the timeless yacht rock gem “Love In Exile” (featuring Michael McDonald & Kenny Loggins. Fueled by the interplay of loose guitar and neon keys, it takes flight as a vocal masterclass with Charlie holding his own shoulder-to-shoulder next to a pair of icons. This mega-collab concludes on the wistful refrain, “We had it all for a while, but now it feels like love in exile.”
“I started playing in my studio, and Kenny whispered to me, ‘You should really let Mike play because he’ll play something you wouldn’t play’,” he remembers. “It was the best advice ever. My mind was just blown when they each sang, but they are the humblest guys ever. To me, it’s like a classic record from the seventies or eighties.”
“Until It Happens To You” splices spoken word from Jeff Goldblum into a sunny and upbeat Charlie anthem. The legendary actor’s words practically ping-pong in spiritual harmony with vocals boosted by choir harmonies.
“Thematically, you’re watching a loved one go through hardship,” he notes. “This person has guided you through so much turbulence. The tables have turned though, and you need to help. Jeff wasn’t acting. He did a non-memorized monologue where he was speaking from the heart to his two young boys—one of whom is named Charlie.”
For the first time on “Hey Brother,” he directly addresses his younger brother Stephen. He urges, “I wish you could see in you what you see in me.” Charlie states, “I’m telling Stephen, ‘You’re always going to be my brother.’ I see the potential in him like he sees greatness in me. It’s not the most comfortable thing for me to sing about, but he hopefully has great comfort from it. He’s his own person.”
Puth concludes on Whatever’s Clever!,“I’m back to who I always was, I tried on a lot of different outfits and styles, but I believe everything happens for a reason. With a ring on my finger, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been and the most at-ease. These are real songs. They’re about my brother, my dad, my wife, and people who aren’t in my life anymore that I thought I needed. This is finally me.”
Next month, the WHATEVER’S CLEVER! World Tour starts inSan Diego’s Viejas Arena on April 22, followed by a European tour in June and July. For more details and tickets go to: https://www.charlieputh.com

Far Eastern University through the FEU Center for the Arts presents the Pundaquit Virtuosi from Zambales in Haydn’s 7 Last Words of Jesus Christ with reflections in between in the FEU Chapel surrounded by The Stations of the Cross, a National Cultural Treasure by National Artist Carlos “Botong” Francisco
The FEU Center for the Arts (FCA) continues its Tutti Concert Series with Tutti Strings, featuring the Pundaquit Virtuosi from Zambales in a special Lenten performance of The Seven Last Words of Jesus Christ by Joseph Haydn. Presented in partnership with the FEU Campus Ministry, this free concert will take place on March 31 at 5 PM at the FEU Chapel, offering the Tamaraw community a moving musical reflection in preparation for Holy Week.
Adding a unique dimension to the performance, each of the Seven Last Words will be accompanied by a short reflection delivered by representatives from the FEU Community.
Founded in the quiet coastal village of Pundaquit, San Antonio, Zambales, the Pundaquit Virtuosi is led by internationally renowned Filipino violinist Coke Bolipata. Through his vision, music education has become accessible to children in the community, transforming lives and nurturing young talents through classical training and performance opportunities. What began as a grassroots initiative has grown into a respected ensemble known for its heartfelt performances and advocacy for arts education.
Reflecting on the significance of the featured piece, Bolipata shares, “Haydn’s Seven Last Words is a rare piece of music: one that invites stillness. It does not dramatize Christ’s suffering so much as meditates on it.”
Composed in 1786, Joseph Haydn’s The Seven Last Words of Christ is a deeply contemplative masterpiece originally written for Good Friday services in Cádiz, Spain. The work consists of seven sonatas, each reflecting one of Christ’s final utterances on the Cross, framed by a solemn introduction and a powerful concluding movement. Revered for its emotional depth and spiritual intensity, the piece invites listeners into quiet meditation through expressive melodies and profound musical storytelling.

P-Pop trailblazers SB19 has officially dropped Wakas at Simula—a 24-track release that serves as a closure of their formative era in music and the beginning of a new imperial phase. Their second full-length album chronicles their path to self-discovery, identity building, and the cultivation of public trust, all fortified through years of experience and learning.
“At the same time, this marks a new beginning,” SB19 adds. “We hope to express ourselves more openly, explore deeper and more relatable themes, and move forward with clarity, care, and creative freedom, ready to face new challenges together.”
Wakas at Simula stands as a cohesive anthology, weaving together key selections from the group’s trilogy of acclaimed EPs (Pagsibol, Pagtatag, and Simula at Wakas), alongside six new tracks that showcase a reinvigorated approach in production and songwriting. The result is a future-forward pop record that embraces genre fluidity and maximalism, made more compelling by SB19’s unmistakable energy and charisma.
Pablo, SB19’s leader and chief producer, emphasizes the intention behind the album’s sonic direction, putting into consideration the history behind these songs. “We did not want to simply remake them; we aimed to reintroduce them with greater depth. We explored more mature arrangements, stronger dynamics, and a careful balance of raw emotion and refinement. Sonically, I focused on warmth, atmosphere, and storytelling, ensuring that every choice reflected who we are today. This approach allowed the music to honor its origins while also showcasing our growth as artists.”
SB19’s sophomore album also features international collaborations with some of the pop greats this side of the hemisphere. Queen of C-Pop JOLIN is prominently featured in “Emoji,” a euphoric club anthem with a little bit of Brazilian funk thrown in the mix.
SB19’s Ken, who co-produced the track with PLAYERTWO’s Luke April, offered an insight into its creation. “I thought this was a fresh and exciting sound for us, so I created a Brazilian phonk inspired track with the help of my friend Luke. Pablo, JOLIN, and I wrote the lyrics together. The song explores social media and how people often mask their true emotions behind emojis. It reflects on the contrast between online personas and genuine feelings, highlighting the subtle ways technology shapes human expression.”
The release of “Emoji’ will be accompanied by a music video set in what looks like two versions of an underground dungeon. SB19’s Justin explains, “The direction for the music video was to keep it simple and accessible while maintaining high quality and showcasing an impressive performance. Our creative director carefully ensured that the set designs and overall concept subtly reinforced the song’s message. The video features two distinct layouts: one glamorous and polished, the other messy and chaotic, representing the contrast between the idealized image people present online and the reality they often hide behind emojis.”
Another highlight of the album is a collaboration with Japanese pop group BE:FIRST, who joined SB19 on the floor-thumping jam “Toyfriend.” Other new songs in the album include the catchy R&B tune “Memories,” the sonically daring but refreshing “Everblack,” and the emotional ballad “Wakas,” which showcases SB19’s extraordinary vocal abilities and heartfelt delivery.
The award-winning P-Pop boyband also reworked the songs from their 2021 EP, Pagsibol, incorporating new arrangements with layers of nuance and artistic growth. With more experience and perspective, SB19 admits that the new versions offer a more refined direction, with emotions naturally running deeper and the lyrics carrying greater meaning.
“For us, it was about respect and progression,” Pablo explains. “We wanted the songs people already love to retain their emotional core, while the newer tracks pushed the album forward. Nostalgia gave the project its roots, and the new songs gave it momentum. The goal was to make the album feel familiar while still showing growth and evolution.”
Ahead of the release, SB19 revealed the official track list for Wakas at Simula during a press conference on March 23, 2026, which was simultaneously streamed live on Weverse. The video has amassed more than 300,000 views and 30 million likes within 24 hours, cementing their popularity on the global fandom platform.
The P-Pop powerhouse is also scheduled to perform in two of most prominent music festivals in the world: Lollapalooza in Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois, which will run from July 30 to August 2, 2026, and the recently announced Summer Sonic in Tokyo, Japan, happening on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
SB19’s “Wakas at Simula” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment. Watch out for the music video release of “Emoji” (Feat. JOLIN) today at 7:00 PM via SB19’s official YouTube page.
Manila, Philippines – The acclaimed immersive event series Medium Rare returns on May 9 with a new edition titled Kaleidoscope, transforming Salon de Ning at The Peninsula Manila into a multi-sensory night where music, gastronomy and art converge.
Running from 7:00 PM until 4:00 AM, the one-night event will bring together international and local artists in an elegant cross-cultural experience designed to expand Manila’s cultural nightlife. With limited tickets available, the event promises an intimate yet vibrant atmosphere for music lovers, creatives and tastemakers seeking something beyond the ordinary.
The Kaleidoscope Concept
This edition is titled Kaleidoscope to reflect the philosophy behind the event. Just as fragments inside a kaleidoscope rotate to create new patterns, different artistic elements come together to form a unified and unexpected picture.
At first glance, neoclassical piano and hypnotic electronic music may seem worlds apart, yet when placed side by side they reveal a compelling harmony. Combined with gastronomy and visual art, these elements create a living cultural composition where contrasts transform into beauty.
International Artists
This special edition will feature Spanish electronic music producer Pablo Bolívar, internationally recognized for his deep and atmospheric blend of techno and ambient music. With more than two decades in the underground electronic scene, Bolívar has developed a distinctive sound balancing hypnotic rhythms with emotional melodic structures. He is also the founder of influential labels Seven Villas Music and Avantroots Records, which have played a role in shaping the deeper side of contemporary electronic music.
His participation in Medium Rare is supported by the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines, highlighting Spain’s commitment to cultural exchange and presenting contemporary Spanish artistic voices to Filipino audiences.
Joining the lineup are Italian composers and pianists Lorenzo Travaglini and Davide Semmarchi, representing Bosco Studio, an Italian creative collective exploring the intersection of neoclassical composition and cinematic sound.
Travaglini, founder of Bosco Studio, focuses on emotionally driven piano works that blend classical tradition with modern sonic landscapes. Semmarchi complements this approach through atmospheric textures and expressive minimalist structures. Together their performances create immersive musical narratives that move between classical sensitivity and contemporary sound design.
Bosco Studio’s visit to the Philippines is supported by the Philippine–Italian Association, which helps foster cultural dialogue and artistic exchange between Italian and Filipino creative communities.
Their appearance at Medium Rare marks their first performance in Asia, introducing Manila audiences to a distinctive voice within today’s evolving neoclassical movement.
A Curated Cultural Experience
“Medium Rare is a curated sensory experience that unites three worlds: music, gastronomy and art. This unique event brings together Manila’s food lovers and music community into one sophisticated, flavorful and unforgettable experience.”
The concept behind Medium Rare is to blur the boundaries between cultural disciplines, creating an immersive environment where audiences experience live music, culinary creativity and artistic expression simultaneously.
Medium Rare was created by Chele Gonzalez, whose passion for gastronomy and music inspired the project.
“Medium Rare began as a personal idea to merge two art forms I deeply care about: gastronomy and music,” Gonzalez explains. “The word ‘Medium’ represents the space between disciplines where they meet, while ‘Rare’ reflects our desire to present something unique beyond the mainstream.”
The project is developed together with Samantha Nicole, a prominent figure in Manila’s underground music community who has been actively shaping the city’s alternative cultural scene through music-driven events and collaborations.
Together they bring international artists and Manila’s creative community into one carefully curated environment.
Event Details Event: Medium Rare – Kaleidoscope Edition Date: May 9 Time: 7:00 PM – 4:00 AM Venue: Salon de Ning, The Peninsula Manila City: Manila, Philippines Tickets are limited.
Manila’s Largest EDM Festival Is Back This Summer With An All-Star Lineup
MANILA, PHILIPPINES — &FRIENDS Festival, the premier electronic dance music festival in Manila, returns on June 19 and 20 with its most expansive edition to date, transforming Okada Manila into a global gathering point for dance music culture. Leading this year’s lineup are four of electronic music’s most commanding forces.
Galantis is the Swedish dance powerhouse of Christian “Bloodshy” Karlsson — Grammy-winning co-writer of Britney Spears’ “Toxic” and a figure behind hits for Madonna, Katy Perry, and Kylie Minogue. As Galantis, Karlsson has crafted a body of work that has accumulated over 7.3 billion cumulative worldwide streams, powered by platinum-certified anthems like “Runaway (U & I)” — which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording — and “No Money,” which saw a top-10 debut in 23 countries. Their most recent album Rx continued that momentum, featuring “Lighter” with David Guetta and 5 Seconds of Summer, which landed at number one on the US Dance Radio chart. Onstage, Galantis is a force unto itself — a euphoric, laser-and-fire spectacle that transforms any room into a singalong.
Porter Robinson is an American DJ, singer, songwriter, and record producer who began producing electronic music during his adolescence, signed to Skrillex’s OWSLA at 18, and has since made DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list for seven consecutive years. His 2014 debut album Worlds — which peaked at number one on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums and is considered a major influence on the broader sound of EDM — was followed by the Grammy-nominated Virtual Self project and the critically acclaimed Nurture in 2021, whose North American tour sold over 150,000 tickets and became the highest-grossing electronic tour of that year. His third album SMILE! :D, released in 2024, was supported by his biggest-ever world tour spanning five continents and over 70 dates, cementing Robinson as one of the most beloved and artistically ambitious artists in electronic music. His SMILE! 😀 tour included a stop in Manila — making his return to the Philippines at &FRIENDS Festival all the more meaningful for Southeast Asian fans.
Subtronics — born Jesse Kardon in Philadelphia — has headlined major festival stages across the globe, launched his own annual festivals, and built his own independent home through his label Cyclops Recordings. In 2023 he became the highest-selling North American electronic touring act in the Pollstar mid-year reports and earned DJ Mag North America’s DJ of the Year, while his curated events — including a three-day Cyclops Dome takeover at the Tacoma Dome featuring a fully immersive ceiling of motorized LED panels — have redefined what a live bass music experience can be. His most recent studio album FIBONACCI, announced live from the Ultra Music Festival mainstage and released via Cyclops Recordings in December 2025, arrived alongside a record-setting six consecutive sold-out nights at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and a Coachella debut in April 2026 — proof that the Philadelphia producer is operating at the absolute peak of his powers.
Yellow Claw is a Dutch DJ and production duo from Amsterdam — Jim Taihuttu and Nils Rondhuis — whose music blends trap, hip-hop, dubstep, hardstyle, and moombahton into a relentlessly high-energy sound all their own. Over a career spanning more than a decade, they have accumulated over a billion plays and collaborated with DJ Snake, Steve Aoki, Gucci Mane, and Tinashe, while their own label, Barong Family, founded in 2014, has become one of electronic music’s most respected independent platforms with hundreds of releases to its name.
They arrive at &FRIENDS Festival fresh off their fifth studio album, Jesus Loves Trap Music — a 20-track statement built for blown-out speakers and mainstage mayhem, released on Barong Family in February 2026. Few acts on the planet bring the same raw, crowd-igniting energy to a festival stage, and Manila is in for one of the most explosive sets of the summer.
Rounding out an unmissable weekend, Monstercat — one of electronic music’s most influential independent labels — stages a full label takeover, bringing two of its most exciting acts to the &FRIENDS Festival stage. ARMNHMR, the Los Angeles-based duo who made history as the first Asian American EDM duo to hold a residency on the Las Vegas strip, deliver the kind of euphoric, melody-driven bass music that has earned them a devoted global following. Joining them is Arcando, the Dutch drum & bass producer whose crossover sound caught fire when Martin Garrix debuted his viral remix of “Jungle” at the Ultra Miami mainstage — and who hasn’t slowed down since.
WUKONG and KIARA also join the bill, both signed to Liquid State — the electronic music label founded by Sony Music and Tencent Music Entertainment, home to over 20 billion streams and artist releases from Alan Walker, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike and R3HAB, among many more. WUKONG has built a global following fusing Chinese mythology and traditional Asian instrumentation, pioneering the genre Oriental Rave that has taken Asia by storm, while KIARA brings her own distinct sound to what promises to be an unmissable weekend.
Joining them are standout subheadliners CHYL, Ian Asher, Level Up and Siangyoo, with additional artists to be announced in the coming months.
Regional support comes from Amanda Sze, DJ Cupcakes, Orange Juice Asia, and Smooth Brain Girly — four acts representing the next wave of Southeast Asian dance music talent.
The carefully curated lineup reflects &FRIENDS Festival’s continued commitment to delivering world-class talent while spotlighting the best of the global and regional electronic scene.
Designed as a fully immersive festival experience, &FRIENDS Festival will feature large-scale stage production, state-of-the-art visuals, and meticulously crafted show environments. Across two electrifying nights, fans can expect a seamless blend of music, energy, and spectacle — hallmarks that have defined the festival’s rapid rise.

TALES OF THE MANUVU MAR. 28-29 PROSCENIUM THEATER ROCKWELL, MAKATI
Alice Reyes Dance Philippines (ARDP), in collaboration with the University of the Philippines, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and the Cultural Center of the Philippines, with the generous support of the Office of Senator Pia Cayetano, is proud to announce the 2026 restaging of Tales of the Manuvu.
Premiered in 1977, this production is the first Filipino rock opera ballet, masterfully weaving indigenous mythology with the vibrant energy of rock and pop music.Catch the strictly limited run at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell, Makati, on March 28–29.
A Historic Artistic Collaboration This masterpiece was born from the creative synergy of legendary Filipino artists. National Artist Alice Reyes provided the visionary direction and choreography, while National Artist Bienvenido Lumbera penned the libretto. Crucial to its iconic sound was the music composed by OPM icon Dero Pedero, with additional music by the rock band Afterbirth. The original production also featured stars of the Philippine theater and music scene, including Boy Camara, Anthony Castelo, Haji Alejandro, Celeste Legaspi, and the debut of newfound talent, Leah Navarro.
Reflecting on the production’s origins, National Artist Alice Reyes notes: “In 1976, Bien Lumbera and I were both delighted by E. Arsenio Manuel’s folk tales… We agreed that the tales could be rich material for a rock-opera ballet, a dance concept still in its nascent state in the Philippines. We opened on February 25, 1977, to a packed house in the CCP and never looked back. Forty-nine years later—and almost to the day—Tales of the Manuvu makes a strong comeback… Although dance is about change and movement, ARDP puts value and currency in proven works. It continues to foster a collaborative environment for Filipino artists—all in a mission to keep dance as an art form that provokes, excites, and engages the national spirit and consciousness.”
The 2026 Restaging The 2026 production is restaged by ARDP Ballet Master Lester Reguindin. This iteration features new set and costume designs by award-winning director and designer Loy Arcenas, and lighting design by Barbara Tan-Tiongco.
A Stellar Cast of Voices and Movement The production features a powerhouse ensemble of singers and dancers, continuing the tradition of featuring live vocalists and a rock band alongside technical brilliance. With a rotating cast, the production offers a unique experience at every performance.Audiences are invited to catch the different artistic interpretations of both the singers and dancers.

Thai GL stars Phinyanech Aungsuwan and Desoraya Techapaibul, collectively known as TKNur, are finally bringing their undeniable on-screen chemistry to the Philippines, as they gear up for their highly anticipated first fan meeting in Manila.
Titled “TKNur 1st Fan Meeting in Manila [In Our Bloom: Love in Full Blossom],” the special event is set to take place on March 29, 2026, at Samsung Hall. This marks a milestone moment for the rising Thai actresses, who will be meeting their Filipino fans face-to-face for the very first time in a night filled with heartfelt interactions, performances, and unforgettable memories.
TKNur rose to prominence through their breakout roles in the hit Girls’ Love (GL) drama Dangerous Queen, a compelling adaptation of the novel of the same name. The series follows the story of Bonita, portrayed by Nur, a young woman navigating life within a deeply troubled and abusive household. Her fate takes a dramatic turn when she crosses paths with Queen, played by TK, a powerful and enigmatic CEO whose presence introduces both danger and unexpected solace. As their worlds collide, the narrative unfolds into an emotionally charged journey of resilience, healing, and love that resonates deeply with viewers.
The series quickly gained a loyal following, with audiences praising not only its gripping storyline but also the natural and captivating chemistry between TK and Nur. Their portrayal of complex, emotionally layered characters struck a chord with fans, cementing their status as one of the most promising GL pairings to watch.
With their upcoming Manila fan meeting, fans can expect that same magnetic connection to come alive on stage. The event promises an immersive experience, featuring live performances, interactive games, and candid segments that will allow attendees to see a more personal and playful side of the duo. Beyond the stage, fans will also have the opportunity to get closer to the actresses through exclusive fan benefits, including photo opportunities, soundcheck access, and hi-touch sessions. Special merchandise such as signed polaroids and limited-edition photocards will also be available, making the night even more memorable for attendees.
Presented by S9T Concert, S.nur Entertainment, and CDM Entertainment, “In Our Bloom: Love in Full Blossom” is poised to be a heartfelt celebration of TKNur’s journey and the ever-growing bond they share with their global fanbase, especially the passionate Filipino fans who have long awaited this moment.
SEVENTEEN triumphantly concluded the Asia leg of their “NEW_” world tour in Bulacan with a powerful, emotionally charged concert that celebrated their evolution, global dominance, and decade-long unbreakable bond with Filipino CARATs.
K-pop icon SEVENTEEN continues to ignite global stages with unmatched force, drawing approximately 840,000 spectators combined across in-person and online shows throughout their ongoing world tour, “SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_]”, an achievement that reaffirms their standing as one of the most formidable live acts in music today. With every city they conquer, the group not only performs but transforms arenas and stadiums into immersive experiences, where storytelling, music, and connection collide on a grand scale.
That energy reached a powerful peak on March 21, as SEVENTEEN successfully concluded the Asia leg of their “SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_]” at the Philippine Sports Stadium. Serving as the final stop of a sprawling tour that covered 29 performances across 14 cities since September 2025, the Bulacan show was a celebration of a journey defined by growth, reinvention, and unwavering connection with fans across continents. The Asia leg itself marked a triumphant return, capping off a historic touring year that placed SEVENTEEN among the world’s top three touring acts on Billboard’s 2025 midyear Boxscore and earned them the distinction of having the second-highest-grossing K-pop tour on the year-end chart.

From its earliest moments, “NEW_” made clear its intent to signal transformation. The tour’s title—anchored by the underscore (_)—represents an open space, a symbol of limitless potential and evolution beyond the group’s decade-long career. This philosophy was brought to life through a carefully curated setlist that blended fresh material from their 5th studio album Happy Burstday with reinvented versions of beloved hits, creating a show that felt both forward-looking and deeply rooted in their history.
The night in Bulacan opened with a visually striking VCR, drawing fans into a cinematic prelude before the members emerged, one after the other, to ignite the stage with “Bad Influence,” a sleek collaboration with Pharrell Williams. The track’s confident groove and understated swagger set the tone for what would become an evening of constant momentum. Without pause, the group launched into “HBD” and “THUNDER,” delivering back-to-back performances that married explosive choreography with larger-than-life production. “HBD” radiated celebratory energy, its vibrant soundscape capturing the spirit of rebirth and festivity, while “THUNDER” lived up to its name with booming instrumentals and electrifying formations that rippled through the stadium like a sonic storm.

As the show unfolded, SEVENTEEN showcased the full breadth of their artistry with the electrifying full-group performance of “Domino”, followed by a captivating unit stage and a series of dynamic solo stages. “Network Love,” performed by Joshua, Jun, The8, and Vernon, became a visual spectacle of precision and flow, each movement seamlessly triggering the next in perfect synchronization, echoing the track’s hypnotic rhythm. The solo stages, drawn from Happy Burstday, offered a more intimate look into each member’s individuality. Dino’s “Trigger” pulsed with intensity, driven by hard-hitting beats and razor-sharp choreography that highlighted his evolution into a commanding performer. Jun’s “Gemini” explored duality through shifting tones and emotive delivery, while Vernon’s “Shining Star” provided a laid-back yet introspective moment, its effortless cool underscored by thoughtful lyricism.
The emotional core of the concert emerged during “SOS,” a track whose urgent plea for change and resilience resonated deeply with the audience as its urgent message mirrors the complexities of the current global climate and the people’s ongoing drive for hope and progress. The crowd turned every lyric into a shared expression of solidarity, reflection, and the collective desire for a better future. The atmosphere grew even more poignant with “F*ck My Life,” a raw and cathartic expression of frustration and vulnerability that transformed the vast stadium into a shared emotional space. Closing this segment with “LOVE, MONEY, FAME,” SEVENTEEN reflected on ambition and identity, balancing polished production with introspective themes.

A shift in tone followed as the members returned with softer, more heartfelt solo performances. Joshua’s “Fortunate Change” enveloped the audience in warmth, while DK’s “Happy Virus” lived up to its name with bright, uplifting energy that had fans smiling throughout. Seungkwan’s “Raindrops” added emotional depth, his vocals carrying a lingering sense of longing. Yet the calm proved temporary, as the stage soon erupted into a fiercer atmosphere. The8’s “Skyfall” combined elegance with explosive movement, Mingyu’s “Shake It Off” exuded charisma and playful confidence, and S.Coups’ “Jungle” closed the solo segment with a dark, primal intensity that commanded attention from every corner of the venue.
The transition into the concert’s high-energy core came without warning. “HOT,” “HIGHLIGHT,” “ROCK,” and “HIT” arrived in rapid succession, each performance pushing the group’s stamina and stage presence to exhilarating heights. Flames, lights, and synchronized choreography converged in a relentless display of power, leaving the audience in awe. After delivering such electrifying stages, the members expressed their heartfelt gratitude to CARATs, whose boundless energy fueled them through even the most demanding performances, allowing them not only to complete the set with strength but to truly revel in every moment on stage. S.Coups shared, “I’m not lying. Today is the most enjoyable,” a sentiment that perfectly captured the synergy between SEVENTEEN and their Filipino fans.
That connection has been years in the making, and it shone brightly during the concert’s more playful segments. CARATs waved tiger paws in homage to Hoshi’s signature introduction, revisited earlier eras with a snippet of “MANSAE,” and erupted in excitement during “SNAPSHOOT,” a song that has grown into a beloved staple in the Philippines since their Be The Sun tour. The crowd’s enthusiastic response, particularly during our bunso, Dino’s iconic part, once again demonstrated the unique bond and history shared between SEVENTEEN and Filipino CARATs.
Further enriching the set were unit performances like the Hip-Hop Team’s “GAME BO1,” alongside special stages of CXM’s “For You” and DXS’s “Blue,” which also heightened anticipation for upcoming subunit activities of The8 and Vernon. DK added another memorable moment by opening “Rock With You” with a live drum performance, elevating the track into a full-scale rock spectacle that culminated in a breathtaking fireworks display lighting up the night sky.

As the concert moved into its final act, the atmosphere shifted into one of celebration and gratitude. During CARAT TIME, fans danced and sang along with Bongbongie, turning the stadium into a festival of shared joy. The encore began with “_WORLD,” “A-TEEN,” and “9TEEN,” as the members rode carts around the venue, closing the distance between themselves and the audience. This sense of closeness reached its peak with “To You,” a heartfelt serenade that served as a love letter to CARATs.
One by one, the members delivered their messages, expressing gratitude and promising to remain together through every chapter ahead. In response, fans raised banners declaring “SEVENTEEN FOREVER” and “SEVENTEEN, let’s be together for a long, long time,” messages that echoed throughout the stadium not just in words but in emotion. It was a moment of quiet understanding, a promise shared between SEVENTEEN and CARATs.

“I really received a lot of love and support from you guys today. I will not forget the gratitude in my heart, and will show you more beautiful things. I always say this, the reason I exist is because of CARATs. Because you listen to my music, the reason I get to dance and get to sing is because of CARATs. Thank you very much. Mahal kita.”
DINO
“Whether in solos, in units, and in different types of forms, we will make sure to reach you. Please continue to support us. I myself will do my best. Remember, the 13 members of SEVENTEEN will never separate. Mahal kita! I love you!”
S.COUPS
“I’m glad we get to spend the last stop with you guys… By the next time we come back to the Philippines, hopefully, it will all be the 13 of us. Like S.Coups said, we’ll never be apart. All 13 of us are gonna stay together forever…”

“Thank you for filling up this stadium tonight. Thanks to you all, we had a lot of beautiful memories and really enjoyed today… We will make sure to do our best in our own position, in our own place. In the future, we will be complete once again.”
THE8
“This is the last stop for our Asia tour. Honestly, I’m just so happy that it was the Philippines… Hopefully, we can see each other again… You guys are so beautiful. Thank you so much…”
VERNON
“Philippine CARATs are the best! Thanks to you guys I can say we had the best day today… Through the tour we had together, we were so happy. I will never forget today. I hope you guys continue to cherish the memory we made tonight. Magkita tayo ulit. Mahal kita!”

“I had so much fun today, everyone… I want to meet more CARATs from all over the world continuously. I hope you continue to love all SEVENTEEN members. Please be healthy and stay happy. Thank you so much. I love you so much. I’ll always miss you so much. Pilseung!”
MINGYU
“Honestly, when we started this tour with nine members, we were worried we wouldn’t be able to fill the void of the four members who were not with us. But we did our best to fill the gaps. Those worries disappeared because of you. Thank you to everyone for filling up such big stadium. Like what Kuya Coups said a while ago, it will take a while before you see us complete, but we will come back cooler than ever. So I hope our CARATs can stay healthy and happy. Please continue to love whatever our members will do… Thank you so much for today. Mahal kita! Salamat po!”
SEUNGKWAN
“Thank you very much to all the CARATs who came today. Salamat po… Once there was a fan who told me a line from a children’s book, ‘I love you to the moon and back.’ We started together, and in the future, we will once again meet each other under the moon. Please stay healthy.”

But SEVENTEEN ensured the night would end not in stillness, but in celebration. The encore transformed into a full-blown party with “EYES ON YOU” and the ever-iconic “AJU NICE,” extending into a 30-minute finale that included “LEFT & RIGHT,” “CLAP,” “MARCH,” “SUPER,” “DON QUIXOTE,” “TOGETHER,” “FIGHTING,” and “WATER.” It was a joyous explosion of sound and movement, a fitting conclusion to a night that had encompassed every facet of SEVENTEEN’s artistry.
For a decade, the Philippines has remained a constant presence in SEVENTEEN’s journey. From their Shining Diamond Asia tour in 2016, Diamond Edge in 2017, Ideal Cut in 2018, and Ode to You in 2020, each visit has deepened a connection that continues to grow stronger. Their reunion with Filipino CARATs during Be The Sun in 2022, their historic performances in Bulacan, and subsequent milestones with FOLLOW TO BULACAN and RIGHT HERE have all contributed to a shared legacy that is uniquely their own.
This year, SEVENTEEN added yet another milestone by becoming the first artist to stage three consecutive concert tours at the Philippine Sports Stadium, further solidifying the country’s place as a cornerstone of their global touring history. Every visit writes a new chapter, painted in rose quartz and serenity, the official colors that now symbolize a bond built on passion, joy, and unwavering support.

Globally, SEVENTEEN’s impact continues to expand. With millions of total attendees across their tours, historic performances at major international festivals, and consistent recognition on global charts, they stand firmly among the world’s elite musical acts. Yet beyond the accolades and records, it is their ability to connect genuinely and deeply with their fans that defines their legacy.
As the “NEW_” world tour approaches its final chapter with encore shows at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium, anticipation continues to build. Tickets for the encore sold out during the first day of fan club pre-sale, a testament to the enduring demand for SEVENTEEN’s live performances.
From past to present, and into whatever the future may hold, one truth remains unwavering—on every stage, in every city, and in every shared moment: It is always only SEVENTEEN.

The P-Pop trailblazers have officially announced the track list for their sophomore album, including collaborations with Queen of C-Pop JOLIN and Japanese boy band BE:FIRST.
Trailblazing Filipino group SB19 announces the release of the highly anticipated full-length album, Wakas at Simula—a turning point record that encapsulates the closure of one creative era and the launch of its new chapter. Following the global success of their Simula at Wakas World Tour and the announcement of their stint at the upcoming Lollapalooza Festival this year, the sophomore album positions SB19 at the vanguard of P-Pop’s continued rise on the international stage.
“Wakas at Simula closes the chapter of proving ourselves,” SB19 explains in a press statement. “In the beginning, we were focused on finding our place, building our identity, and earning people’s trust. This album honors that journey while also guiding us into a more grounded and intentional version of SB19.”
SB19 shares that with this album, they’re learning to take bolder steps without overthinking every move. “Our years of experience have given us the confidence to create and share what feels true to us, even if we are still growing. At the same time, this marks a new beginning. We hope to express ourselves more openly, explore deeper and more relatable themes, and move forward with clarity, care, and creative freedom, ready to face new challenges together.”
Conceptually anchored in duality and transformation, Wakas at Simula unifies the group’s trilogy of acclaimed EPs (Pagsibol, Pagtatag, and Simula at Wakas) while introducing six new tracks that push the boundaries of pop music with newfound confidence and sonic adventurism. Notably, the album features collaborations with Queen of C-Pop JOLIN (a Household name in the Mandarin-speaking world) on “Emoji” and Japanese group BE:FIRST on the dance-pop track “Toyfriend,” showcasing a deliberate expansion for cross-cultural appeal.
SB19’s Stell considers the collaboration with international artists a valuable learning experience for both the acclaimed P-Pop quintet and 1Z, giving them insights into how established labels outside the country operate in scale and strategy. “Since SB19 built its own system from the ground up, one that is pro-artist and pro-team, these collaborations helped us see how we can refine and evolve that approach. The impact goes beyond music, as it opens opportunities for 1Z to grow and adapt to global practices. At the end of the day, it highlights how a young team can build meaningful connections and continue learning while expanding on a global stage.”
Other new songs in the album traverse a wide sonic spectrum: from the understated elegance of R&B track “Memories” to the experimental, industrial textures of “Everblack,” the P-Pop royalty’s combined influences take the record to exciting new places in terms of production and songwriting.
Complementing the new tracks are reworked versions from the P-Pop powerhouse’s 2021 EP, Pagsibol. The re-recorded songs embody SB19’s artistic and emotional growth, where the delivery has become more intentional and personal, shaped by their lived experiences.
“When we first recorded them, we were coming from a place of hunger and hope, performing based on how we initially understood and absorbed the lyrics,” SB19 admits. Now, with more experience and perspective, the emotions naturally run deeper, and the lyrics carry greater meaning. It was not about changing the songs completely but allowing them to grow with us.”
The release of their sophomore album will culminate in a major live event, the Wakas at Simula Concert, happening on April 18, 2026, at the SMDC Festival Grounds. It will serve as the finale to their Simula at Wakas tour, which supported the release of their three-part EP (Pagsibol, Pagtatag, and Simula at Wakas). While the group will not be holding a world tour this time around, they will be playing shows across North America, Europe, and the Middle East in the latter half of the year, including major international festivals such as Lollapalooza in Chicago, USA, and more to be announced!
