    Netflix Philippines just dropped a fun promotional campaign today (August 7, 2026) introducing Kris Aquino as its official C.H.I.K.A. — Chief Head of Insight and Kontent Analysis. It’s a playful, fictional role that leans hard into her iconic “chika” (gossip/candid commentary) style.

    In the video, she steps into an editing room on her “first day,” delivering signature honest-to-goodness critiques of Filipino titles currently streaming on the platform (including A Secret in Prague, Blood vs Duty, and The Master Cutter). She requests bigger, colder winter vibes, bonggang visual upgrades, and her usual flair — then stamps the enhanced clips “Kris Aquino approved.” “Ano itong pasabog ni madam?! … with some bonggang upgrades to local shows, Krissy style.”

    The campaign is planned as a three-episode series, with the next drops on August 14 and 20.

    Fans are loving the pure Kris Aquino way, over-the-top title, the pajama job-application teaser earlier in the day, and that unmistakable delivery. Classic Queen move.

    After a historic theatrical run as the highest-grossing anime film in history globally, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle l is now available on Netflix across 23 markets in Asia-Pacific, including Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. 

    The film set national box office records in several of the markets now welcoming it to Netflix: it became the highest-grossing anime film ever released in Thailand,  and posted the biggest grossing Japanese anime film of all time in the Philippines and Indonesia. During its opening weekend in the Philippines, the film garnered approximately $4.2 million (PHP 238 million)—making it the biggest anime opening of all time in the country, outperforming blockbusters across genres including horror and superhero titles.     The Infinity Castle arc has been the most anticipated storyline among Demon Slayer fans for years, with excitement building steadily since the franchise’s Netflix debut. The story unfolds with the Demon Slayer Corps drawn into the Infinity Castle. As preparations for the final battle intensify, Muzan Kibutsuji attacks the Ubuyashiki Mansion, plunging Tanjiro and the Hashira into a mysterious space.

    Japanese anime titles are widely watched, with more than half of our members today having watched at least one anime title. Members watched a wide range of titles, from originals like Cosmic Princess Kaguya! to established franchises such as Jujutsu Kaisen: Culling Game Part 1, STEEL BALL RUN: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: 1st STAGE and BAKI-DOU. Jujutsu Kaisen: Culling Game Part 1 held Malaysia’s weekly Top 10 for 13 consecutive weeks, the longest run of any Japanese title in Southeast Asia this half, while STEEL BALL RUN reached the weekly Top 10 in both Thailand and Vietnam. BAKI-DOU broke into the Philippines’ chart, signaling an appetite for Japanese anime that extends well beyond the biggest global franchises.

    Starring Ha Young as Go Eun-sae and Jung Hae-in as Jang Tae-ha, the show follows Eun-sae, an ambitious prosecutor who wakes up in a rural hospital with complete memory loss. She finds herself in the quiet Taffy Village (Yeot Village) in Gujin-gun, where Tae-ha, a former boxing champion turned local coach, calmly claims to be her boyfriend. What begins as a bewildering arrangement quickly turns into cohabitation filled with quirky chemistry, fish-out-of-water comedy, and underlying secrets.

    The main poster captures the pair’s tangled dynamic perfectly: Eun-sae grips Tae-ha by the collar with a pout, while her prosecutor ID and swirling luxury items contrast with their rural setting. The tagline “Sweetly tangled. Hopelessly stuck!” nods to the series’ central metaphor of traditional Korean taffy (yeot) sticky, sweet, and impossible to pull away from once you’re caught.

    In the trailer, Eun-sae’s confusion is front and center. The quiet village lined with traditional taffy shops and its peculiar residents feel alien to her big-city sensibilities, and Tae-ha’s scruffy appearance is a far cry from her usual type. She struggles to trust a word he says. Yet his steady warmth and earnest admiration gradually chip away at her defenses. Sweet lines and gentle affection leave her flustered and smiling, even as Tae-ha warns that no one can find out about them, hinting at deeper mysteries surrounding why she’s safest by his side and what truly binds them together.

    Director Kim Jang-han describes the series as “a heart-warming, feel-good romantic comedy” about building a love that sticks “as tightly as sticky, sweet Korean taffy.” The irresistible charm, he promises, will leave viewers unable to pull themselves away.

    With Jung Hae-in’s easy charm and Ha Young’s sharp comedic timing, Our Sticky Love looks set to deliver the perfect blend of heart, humor, and just the right amount of mystery.

    Capturing the magic of first love, 18th Rose brings a fresh, modern YA romance film to the slate, which has become rare in today’s local market despite clear demand. With a never-before-seen pairing of Xyriel Manabat and Kyle Echarri at its center, it’s charming, youthful, and emotionally resonant.

    In Ganito, Ganyan, Ganoon, a family drama with an offbeat twist, a wildly complicated mother anchors a story that is heartfelt, funny, and instantly relatable. The film explores the chaos and warmth of Filipino family life with honesty and edge, led by none other than Jodi Sta. Maria.

    Rooted in the country that celebrates Christmas longer than anyone, Paskong Pinoy revives the warmth of classic Filipino holiday storytelling through a simple, feel-good anthology of nostalgia, romance, second chances, and the sweetness of coming home.

    Two series are also coming in partnership with our local network partners, premiering three days before free-to-air TV. GMA’s The Master Cutter stars Dingdong Dantes in an action drama about a former scout ranger who now lives a double life — working quietly as a tailor by day, while taking on dangerous bounty hunting jobs on the side. ABS-CBN’s Someone, Someday follows a woman scarred by her past who creates a modern dating app to help women find the right love at the right time. Through the love stories she brings together — and while navigating the challenges in her own life — she begins to rediscover what love truly means for herself.     The wait is finally over. BTS is back!

    After nearly four years of solo projects, mandatory military service, and building anticipation, RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook are reuniting for their most monumental comeback yet. Netflix and HYBE have joined forces to deliver an unprecedented global event package: a historic live performance and an intimate documentary chronicling the journey.

    BTS: THE RETURN, a heartfelt documentary diving into the creation of their brand-new comeback album, drops on Netflix just days later on March 27, 2026.

    This exclusive live stream from the famous Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul will be Netflix’s first global live stream of a major Korean event, reaching more than 190 countries and regions. Hamish Hamilton, who is known for directing Super Bowl Halftime shows, is in charge of the concert. It is to celebrate the release of BTS’s fifth studio album, ARIRANG, which comes out the day before, on March 20, 2026. Expect to hear the first live performances of songs from this album, which is very introspective and looks at the artists’ identities, roots, and growth as global icons.

    Just a few days later, you can watch the full-length documentary BTS: THE RETURN, which will be available only on Netflix on March 27, 2026.

    The film, which was directed by well-known filmmaker Bao Nguyen (The Greatest Night in Pop) and produced by This Machine (known for docs on Martha and Karol G) and HYBE, gives viewers a rare look behind the scenes. It follows the seven members as they get back together in Los Angeles after serving in the military and deal with creative problems, personal growth, laughter, doubt, and rediscovery.

    The documentary shows their emotional journey as they think about how they have changed from Korean idols to global legends since they first appeared in 2013. They also deal with questions of reinvention, honoring the past, and moving forward together. It’s a close-up look at strength, brotherhood, and the making of what looks like it will be a landmark pop album.

    Netflix has officially set the release date for the second season of its live-action hit One Piece: Into The Grand Line, which fans have been waiting for. The new chapter will come out on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. It promises to take fans even deeper into the dangerous and exciting waters of the Grand Line, with more heart, humor, and high-stakes piracy.

    Fans all over the world are excited that Netflix has released exclusive first-look images from the highly anticipated second season of its live-action adaptation, One Piece: Into The Grand Line. The new visuals show off the beautiful and varied places that will be the setting for Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates’ next big adventure.

    The second season will adapt important arcs from Eiichiro Oda’s famous manga, including stops at Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Laboon, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island. Season 1, which premiered in August 2023 and got a great 95% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, was a huge hit.
