The groove is back as OPM Friends bring a night of classic hits and feel-good nostalgia with “Groovin’ The Greatest Hits” on March 27, 2026 at 8 PM at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Newport World Resorts.

Known for their lively, dance-filled concerts, OPM Friends is an all-star lineup of veteran Filipino performers composed of Celeste Legaspi, Leah Navarro, Mitch Valdes, Nanette Inventor, Pat Castillo, Pinky Marquez, Bo Cerrudo, and Ding Mercado. The supergroup first came together in 2024 through the “OPM Friends Carol for a Cause” initiative, an effort among members of the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM) to raise funds for colleagues in the music industry facing serious medical and financial challenges. What began as a holiday fundraising project soon evolved into a performing collective that celebrates the songs and artists that shaped Original Pilipino Music.

Today, the group is celebrated for bringing together legendary voices of the era to perform enduring classics such as “Isang Mundo, Isang Awit” and “Umagang Kay Ganda,” songs that remain staples of the OPM songbook.

Each member carries a legacy tied to the OPM scene. Celeste Legaspi, an Aliw Award Entertainer of the Year and recipient of the Philstage Lifetime Achievement Award, is the voice behind enduring hits like “Mamang Sorbetero,” “Tuliro,” and “Gaano Kita Kamahal.” Legaspi also served as founding president of the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit and Philstage, helping establish the country’s alliance of professional performing arts companies and organizations. Leah Navarro, the Metro Manila Pop Music Festival Grand Prize winner for “Isang Mundo, Isang Awit,” built a celebrated career as a global concert performer and cultural ambassador for Filipino music. Pat Castillo, formerly of the legendary Circus Band, helped bring Manila Sound to mainstream audiences and later became an award-winning record producer while recording hits such as “Aso’t Pusa.” Nanette Inventor, winner of the Metro Pop top prize for “Salamat Musika,” became both a respected vocalist and a beloved comedic icon through her character Doña Buding.

Mitch Valdes, who founded the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM) in 1986, is a multi-awarded performer whose career spans theater, film, television, and international concerts. Pinky Marquez, a seasoned singer and actress, has appeared in numerous stage musicals, including “The Sound of Music,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” and “Beauty and the Beast.” Completing the group are Bo Cerrudo, the Aliw Award-winning classical balladeer known for his acclaimed “Cerrudo: Classico” concert series, and Ding Mercado, a former Hong Kong television star and international singing champion who rose to fame after winning the Asian Singing Contest in Hong Kong.

Joining them as special guest is Nonoy Zuniga, the celebrated OPM balladeer behind timeless hits such as “Doon Lang,” “Kumusta Ka,” “Never Ever Say Goodbye,” and “Araw Gabi.”
