Netflix Confirms Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 Coming 2026, Debuts First Teaser Featuring Toph Beifong

Netflix has finally revealed the next chapter of its live-action epic, Avatar: The Last Airbender. This news is sending shockwaves through the bending community. On December 10, 2025, the streaming giant released an exciting official teaser trailer and a set of amazing first-look photos. This confirmed that Season 2 will come out in 2026. Fans of the original Nickelodeon animated show, as well as the record-breaking first season that started in February 2024, can now see the Gaang’s new adventures, which include the long-awaited arrival of Toph Beifong, the blind Earthbending prodigy.
AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER follows Aang, the young Avatar, who learns to control the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire, and Air) to bring balance back to a world that is in danger from the scary Fire Nation. After a bittersweet victory saving the Northern Water Tribe from the invading Fire Nation in Season 2, Avatar Aang, Katara, and Sokka regroup and set off on a mission to get the elusive Earth King to help them fight against the terrifying Fire Lord Ozai.

The first-look photos, which are just as exciting, show the Gaang in different states of danger and friendship. One picture shows Toph in the middle of a bend, with her feet firmly planted and rocks floating around her, showing the character’s strong spirit. Another shows the whole team, Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph huddled together to plan their next moves, hinting at the alliances they’ll make (and betrayals they’ll face) on their way to the capital of the Earth Kingdom. Returning actors like Zuko (Dallas Liu), Azula (Elizabeth Yu), Ty Lee (Maria Zhang), and the always-calm Uncle Iroh (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) also have their moments. Daniel Dae Kim plays the tyrannical Fire Lord Ozai.
After the bittersweet victory at the Northern Water Tribe in Season 1, where Aang and the Gaang stopped a terrible Fire Nation invasion but lost a lot of people, Season 2 begins. The young Avatar must now learn how to bend Earth in order to have any chance against Fire Lord Ozai’s never-ending conquest. What was their mission? Get into Ba Sing Se, the Earth Kingdom’s impenetrable heart, and convince the secretive Earth King to join the fight for global balance. Expect big changes, like underground tournaments, the return of fan-favorite characters like the Dai Li secret police, and Toph’s legendary metalbending.
The full ensemble for Season 2 includes:
Gordon Cormier as Aang
Kiawentiio as Katara
Ian Ousley as Sokka
Dallas Liu as Zuko
Miya Cech as Toph Beifong
Elizabeth Yu as Azula
Maria Zhang as Ty Lee
Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh
Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai
Additional casting announcements have teased more Earth Kingdom intrigue, but Netflix is keeping those cards close to the vest for now.
In the meantime, revisit Season 1 on Netflix or dive into the original animated series for a refresher. And keep an eye out for more first-look photos below, because when Toph says “I see everything that you see, except multiplied by fifty,” you know the ground is about to shift.
