Iconic Filipino Band Music and Magic Reunites for a Cause at Music Museum on August 20th.
The iconic Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan, Philippines, will come to life on August 20, 2025, at 8:00 PM with the nostalgic songs of the legendary Filipino show band Music and Magic. The concert, called “Music Museum Honors Sandra Chavez: Music & Magic & Friends,” will be a night to remember with music, memories, and friendship as the group gets back together to honor their former manager, Sandra Chavez. The band, which was fronted by the now-famous pop diva Kuh Ledesma, altered the way people in Manila listened to lounge music and helped Ledesma’s solo career take off.

Formed in 1979, Music and Magic was a key part of the Philippine music scene. Their energetic performances and wide range of songs kept audiences interested until they broke up in 1986. The band had some of the best musicians of their time, like Kuh Ledesma, Bobby Taylo, Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano, Fe de los Reyes, Jet Montelibano, Butch Elizalde, Nonoy Mendoza, and Vicky Sevilla-Pangilinan. They were known for their tight harmonies, theatrical flair, and ability to connect with audiences.
Philippine Concerts was invited during their rehearsals in Pasay and got a chance to see and talk to the members of Music and Magic.
The event, originally planned as a surprise birthday party for Chavez, has now become a fundraiser to help her as she recovers from her health condition, showing how much the group cares about her.
“We want to check on her to make sure she’s okay,” Kuh Ledesma said.
“We’ve been wanting to do a show for her as well; she’s recovering, and we’ve always wanted to do a show—a reunion, after all,” Fe added.
Sandra Chavez is known as a legendary figure in artist management because she has had a huge impact on the careers of many artists. Kuh has shared that she first managed the Music and Magic artists, and it paved the way for her to manage artists, including Zsa Zsa Padilla, Gary Valenciano, and Sharon Cuneta. She has helped musicians, performers, and other creative people achieve great success by spotting talent and using a strategic approach. She is a legend at navigating the world of Philippine entertainment.
To make the Music & Magic reunion a reality, Jet Montelibano cut short his vacation to join his bandmates, while Fe de los Reyes extended her stay in the Philippines.
“I think you know, the universe went with us; it was meant to be. When your heart is there, walang kokontra,” Fe added.
What’s remarkable is their enduring bond over the years. “We’re like family. Nagkikita pa rin kami. Nag-uusap pa rin kami. We have a chat group. So, we’re connected in more ways than one,” Fe shared.
When they’re asked about the planning and conceptualizing of the reunion show, Vicky shared, “We just close our eyes; we find our body, our mind, and the words coming out. It just made our voice even better.”
When a band gets back together after being apart for a while and spends time practicing, their musical and emotional connections come back naturally, along with their shared talent, story, and creative energy.
The Music Museum will host it for free, and aside from that, the venue adds to the importance of the show. It has hosted many memorable concerts, including Music and Magic’s shows in the late 1980s, and is one of Manila’s most iconic performance spaces. For a lot of fans, the venue brings back memories of the band’s best years, which makes it the perfect place for this reunion.

The Music Museum’s intimate setting will make people feel close to the performers, which will make the night more nostalgic. The “Music Museum Honors Sandra Chavez: Music & Magic & Friends” is more than just a concert; it’s a celebration of friendship, legacy, and the fact that music can bring people together. The concert is a chance for people who grew up listening to Music and Magic to relive the magic of their performances.
This reunion concert is going to be one of the most nostalgic concerts of 2025 because it has a storytelling repertoire, a talented cast of performers (we rarely see this kind of reunion), and classic hits. They will not only honor Sandra Chavez, but they will also remind us all of how music can bring people together and make them happy. Don’t miss this chance to be a part of a night full of heart, soul, and timeless songs of the Music and Magic.
