Enter the world of The Sandman this August
Netflix dropped a trailer for its upcoming series The Sandman, which is set to debut on August 5th.
When we close our eyes and sleep, another realm awaits us: the Dreaming, where The Sandman, Master of Dreams (Tom Sturridge), gives expression to all of our greatest fears and fantasies. But when Dream is unexpectedly arrested and imprisoned for a century, his absence triggers a chain of events that will forever alter both the dreaming and waking worlds. Dream must travel across realms and timelines to right the wrongs he’s caused throughout his vast existence, revisiting old friends and rivals and encountering new entities both cosmic and human — along the way.
THE SANDMAN, based on Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed award-winning DC comic series, is a complex, character-driven blend of myth and dark fantasy stitched together over the course of 10 epic chapters following Dream’s many adventures. Gaiman, showrunner Allan Heinberg, and David S. Goyer created and executive produced the show.
