Summer is for Slamming: The Pulp Summer Slam 14 line up

As the mercury rises in the Philippines, metal fans reach a fever pitch in anticipation of the fourteenth installment of Pulp Summer Slam on April 26 at the Amoranto Stadium in Quezon City, Metro Manila. The biggest, baddest, and most durable of all metal fests in Southeast Asia, Pulp Summer Slam has hosted a bevy of international acts and embraced battalions of metal fans year after year.

For 2014, Pulp Summer Slam unleashes two members of metal royalty from the United Kingdom as main attractions. Asking Alexandria kicks off the British invasion after headlining successful European and North American tours with their ground-breaking and critically-acclaimed brand of metal.

“The Final Episode”

Like Asking Alexandria, Welsh metal masters Bullet For My Valentine stomps their feet for the first time in Philippine shores, making the country the first stop in their conquest of this side of Asia. Fans could be treated to new material from the band, as they are reportedly set to record a new album this year.

“Tears Don’t Fall”

Thrash metal legend Kreator will make their Pulp Summer Slam debut–a treat for both veteran fans and younger metalheads. After numerous tours and releasing thirteen studio albums, two EPs, one live album, and three compilation albums, the German band will continue to be live and kicking on the Pulp Summer Slam stage.

“Pleasure To Kill”

J-metal heroes Crossfaith will pay their first neighborly visit to the Philippines, eager to earn more stripes in their already impressive musical resume as they share the stage with larger bands and even larger venues.

“Jägerbomb”

Pulp Summer Slam 14 marks the second coming of two fan favorites. Metalheads will once again behold the black metal melodies of The Black Dahlia Murder with tunes from their new album Everblack in tow.

“Goat of Departure”

Hardcore hall-of-famers Hatebreed returns this year to tear up the Amoranto stage. The Grammy-nominated band has been relentlessly touring the world, and the Philippines is fortunate to be one of two Asian stops in their globe-spanning journey.

“I Will Be Heard”

The third time charm will prove potent for Filipino-American band Death Angel as they whip up a storm from their trademark Bay Area thrash metal.

“Mistress of Pain”

Pulp Summer Slam 14 is also set to launch local talent to new atmospheric heights. Hailing from different corners of the archipelago, Galaw Tao, Voice of Tranquility, David vs Goliath, Embercore, Sickpig, Sucketseven, and Tubero are aching to carve their names into the annals of metal history.
