Park Hyungsik Fan Project Donates to Save the Children Philippines

“SIKcret Time” in Manila organized by MQLIVE in partnership with P&STUDIO and TONZ chose the international child rights organization as its official beneficiary.

It was one for the books as fans of Korean star Park Hyungsik trooped to the Smart Araneta Coliseum last February 17, 2024, to watch his “SIKcret Time” in Manila Asia Tour Fan Meet organized by MQLIVE in partnership with P&STUDIO and TONZ.

As a post-Valentine’s treat, Park Hyungsik and the promoters not only delivered one of the best and most organized fan meets in recent history; in order to show their immense love for the actor, his legions of fans made the event more meaningful and impactful by choosing to donate to an organization known for its support of children’s rights as their official “fan project.”

“Save the Children Philippines expresses its sincerest gratitude to Park Hyungsik, along with his fans, the organizers, promoters, and sponsors of “SIKcret Time” in Manila for choosing our organization as the official beneficiary of the event,” said George De La Rama, Director of Advocacy, Campaigns, Communications and Media of Save the Children Philippines.

“This is the first fan project to ever actively support Filipino children in need and for that we are forever thankful.”

De La Rama recalls that in his long history of watching Korean concerts, fan meets, and events since 2006, this is the first time he encountered a famous Hallyu actor who willingly offered his support to help Filipino children most impacted by inequality and discrimination.

A DREAM COME TRUE
Born with a vision impairment, Eshell Rose Duyan was one of the thousands of attendees of “SIKcret Time” in Manila. She is a member of Future Vision Home in the City of Taguig – one of the 12 organizations of persons with disabilities that Save the Children supports through rights-based development and child participation.

“For me, the highlight was meeting Park Hyungsik in person. He inspired me when he told his story that he wanted to be a police officer when he was young, but fate eventually led him to become a famous actor instead. I dream of becoming a model or flight attendant, but I know that with mycondition, it may be impossible. However, like Hyungsik oppa, I want to believe that God will provide what’s best for me,” said Eshell, 20.

The donation from “SIKcret Time” in Manila will help support Save the Children’s initiatives in securing Filipino children’s rights and ensuring their continued learning, survival, and protection.
“To Park Hyungsik, please continue your good work. I wish for you to come back to Manila and for all
of us to meet again. Thank you also to Save the Children and the event organizers MQLIVE, P&STUDIO and TONZ as well as the fan project lead PUBLICITYASIA for giving me an opportunity to meet Hyungsik oppa and for being an instrument for people to know our organization, Future Vision,” said Eshell.

PURPOSE DRIVEN
Meanwhile, for MQuest Ventures Inc. President and CEO, Jane Basas, the maiden event of MQLIVE was yet another opportunity to serve the Filipino audience with passion and purpose.
“We are grateful to Park Hyungsik, P&STUDIO and TONZ for giving us the opportunity to make the Filipino SIKcrets happy,” said Basas. “I would also like to thank Save the Children Philippines for giving us the opportunity to support their cause. I hope this is the first of many more advocacy-led partnerships between Save the Children and MQUEST.”
