The Philippines’ most popular band is bringing their music to different parts of the country, the United States, and Singapore starting this month
MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Philippines’ biggest folk-pop band Ben&Ben will be bringing their music to Cebu, Bacolod, and Davao for the Philippine leg of their The Traveller Across Dimensions World Tour. Overseas performances will also take place in Singapore and different parts of the United States later in the year.
Tickets are already available for the May 24 show at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino, with announcements for the June 8 show at the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod and the June 22 performance at the SMX Convention Center in Davao to come in the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, tickets for the Singapore show at the Arena@Expo on December 14, as well as those for the performance at the Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, California on July 12 are also available for purchase. Additional show dates and venues will be announced as they become final.
For the tour, the nine-piece band will perform tracks from their third studio album, mixed with some of their past hits. The Traveller Across Dimensions album was released on November 29, 2024, and has produced hits like Could Be Something and Tomorrow with You.
The concept album follows the story of Liwanag, the Traveller, as she journeys through three Dimensions: Light, depicting innocence; Energy, depicting struggle; and Feel, depicting maturity. She writes 12 songs along the way, which relate her experiences in each of the Dimensions.
The songs reflect the various experiences of the band members over the past several years and showcase their growth as people, as songwriters, and as musicians. While their signature indie folk sound remains, the group dishes out city pop and electric beats not present in their previous songs. As the group evolves, so do their stories and their music.

Take us back to 2009—when Sundays meant rest for most of us, tuning in to ASAP, waiting for Sesionistas, a segment that brought us closer to our favorite songs, from covers to originals, back then. The reunion concert, held at The Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque City, was a heartfelt and nostalgic celebration of music, friendship, and the enduring legacy of the ASAP Sessionistas. The group, featuring Ice Seguerra, Nyoy Volante, Sitti, Duncan Ramos, Princess Velasco, Kean Cipriano, and Juris, delivered a powerful and heartfelt performance that resonated deeply with fans since 2009. The concert opened with a high-energy Queen medley, including Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody to Love, and We Are the Champions, setting a vibrant tone. Remember when Sesionistas read letters from their fans requesting a song during their segment at ASAP? They had it on stage with The Dear Sessionistas. Ice and Nyoy sang Survivor’s “The Search Is Over” for a letter sender who met her “the one,” ending her long search. Duncan and Sitti sang Toto’s “I’ll Be Over You” for a fan who was left behind, while Princess, Juris, and Kian sang “She Will Be Loved” for a fan who penned a beautiful kind of love story. This interactive element highlighted their connection with fans, recreating the intimacy of their ASAP performances.
The group also featured unreleased original songs, reflecting their individual journeys and artistic evolution. Showcasing their growth and versatility, they performed “Lihim,” “The Right One,” “Hayaan,” “I Wasn’t Ready Yet,” “Titingin Tingin,” “Malinaw na Malabo,” “The End of the Line,” and “Shelter of the Broken.”
The Out of the Box segment surprised audiences with genre-bending performances, showcasing the group’s versatility as they experimented with styles outside their comfort zones, performing Blackstreet’s “No Diggity,” Nicki Minaj’s super pop “Super Bass,” and Eminem’s “Lose Yourself,” which garnered applause from the audience. Not only did they do this unexpected genre, but they also paid homage to P-Pop by performing SB19’s “Gento” and BINI’s “Salamin.”
From highs of genre-bending segments to emotional highlights—when Juris went on piano to perform “Di Lang Ikaw,” Juris paved the way for emotionally charged ballads that explore internal struggle, heartbreak, and the desire for freedom, even while acknowledging the shared pain and complexities of being in a relationship. She then welcomed Ice, where he performed his classic “Pagdating ng Panahon.” The technical issue in the middle of the song made it more beautiful, as the audience could be heard singing with him in A cappella. It was momentous, heartfelt, and just so beautiful.
The Sessionistas at Home offered an intimate glimpse into their lives as parents, partners, and friends, with family montages and heartfelt dedications that added a personal touch. With Mom Sitti, Juris performed Sarah McLachlan’s “Little B,” while the dad [Nyoy, Kean, Ice, and Duncan] performed Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide.”
The concert was as much a celebration of the Sessionistas’ friendship as it was their music. Their banter, humor, and camaraderie shone through, making the audience feel like they were watching a group of lifelong friends. Sitti noted that the concert felt like a “reunion with everyone in the audience,” emphasizing the shared nostalgia. Nyoy Volante praised Kean Cipriano’s professionalism, revealing that Kean performed despite losing his mother days before the April 4 show, a testament to the group’s dedication. Ice Seguerra, who also produced the concert alongside Liza Diño-Seguerra, emphasized the group’s bond, stating, “More than the singing, it’s the friendship na nabuo namin on and off stage.”

Heralded as the most prolific era for bands in the Philippines, the music of that decade continues to bridge generations. On January 25, 2025, four vocalists of the iconic bands from that era will come together for a one night-only concert titled “Frontmen & Rock Chix.” Wency Cornejo of AfterImage, Naldy Padilla of Orient Pearl, Cooky Chua of Color It Red, and Lei Bautista from Prettier Than Pink will share the stage to perform their greatest hits.

Japanese trio SKYGARDEN, composed of Ryo Nagatsuka, Hiro Ozaki, and Iwa Maegawa, has teamed up with Star of the New Gen and Sparkle artist Jillian Ward for their new single Soredemo (Kahit Na). This powerful song speaks about a love that defies the odds and stands strong despite challenges.
“Soredemo (Kahit Na),” meaning “Even Though” in English, tells the story of two people whose love seems impossible but remains unshaken. It’s a message of resilience and commitment, showing that no matter what obstacles stand in the way, their love will endure.
The song’s concept emerged during a casual studio session back in late 2022. Hiro recalls the moment as an impromptu jam that turned into something more.
“It’s about saying ‘I love you’ even when it feels like the odds are against you,” the group’s lead singer Ryo shared.
Jillian’s involvement brought a special touch to the project. Her voice added an extra layer of emotion and depth.
“After listening to our first demo, we felt that a female voice is needed to balance the song’s narrative. That’s when we scrolled through our Instagram feed and discovered Jillian’s love for Japanese culture. When we met her, we thought it might be difficult because of the different languages, but Jillian was so committed. She practiced hard and gave the song a fresh, sweet sound,” said Ryo.
“She was very cute but strict and disciplined with herself. She never hesitated to ask us how to pronounce certain phrases perfectly,” Iwa added.
Musically, Soredemo (Kahit Na) showcases SKYGARDEN’s evolving sound. While they are known for their upbeat, fast-paced J-Rock style, this track leans towards a more melancholic ballad. Hiro described it as a blend of their J-Rock roots with the heartfelt style of OPM (Original Pilipino Music). “Living in the Philippines has influenced our music,” Ryo added. “We’ve infused Filipino traits into this song while still maintaining our J-Rock base.”
The band hopes Soredemo (Kahit Na) will resonate especially with Gen Z listeners. Ryo expressed that many younger people today struggle to express their feelings or face challenges head-on. “We hope this song encourages them to stay strong, not only in love but also in other difficult moments in life,” he said.
Looking ahead, SKYGARDEN teased exciting new projects, including live performances and collaborations. “We’re working on new music, live performances, and more surprises for our fans,” Hiro hinted. Ryo expressed his desire to work with Sanya Lopez, noting her impressive vocal work on her song Furusato. Following a successful sold-out concert last year, Rey Valera returns onstage at CenterPlay in City of Dreams Manila for another highly anticipated one-night only performance on September 26 at 9:30 pm.
The renowned singer, songwriter, music director, and film scorer has been regarded as one of the pillars of OPM (Original Pilipino Music) who is behind timeless tunes from the 70s to 80s. These enduring tracks include “Walang Kapalit”, “Kung Kailangan Mo Ako”, “Maging Sino Ka Man”, “Malayo Pa Ang Umaga”, “Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako”, “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo”, and “Kumusta Ka.” He is anticipated to perform his compositions that were popularized by Rico Puno: “Sorry Na, Puede Ba”, Pol Enriquez: “Ayoko Na Sa’Yo”, and Sharon Cuneta: “Mr. DJ” and “Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko,” among others.

The second edition of “Rey Valera Live at CenterPlay” follows the successful sold-out concert shows staged monthly at the circular stage at City of Dreams Manila’s main gaming floor. While “Nakaraan” is your perfect soundtrack while riding on a bus and dramatically staring out the window— the official music video teases fans of the antics of Enrique’s comedic quartet (Nikko Natividad, Red Ollero, Pepe Herera, plus the King of the Gil himself) and their colorfully complicated “iyak-tawa” experiences in Bangkok. Enrique is also seen in tear-jerker scenes in the music video, because you know, moving on is not linear.
The song has been making waves since its release on February 9, captivating fans who attended the movie’s promotional mall tour where joem gets to perform “Nakaraan” in front of thousands of viewers.
