THE OUTFIT IS FINALLY HEADED TO OUR SHORES THIS FEBRUARY 2026!
If there is a group that has both continually defied the odds through decades and has defined the sound and shape of the modern rock/genre itself, it’s UNDEROATH – fueling their unique brand of music with both sonic brutality and catchy, anthemic melodies that have always proven to be musically inventive and constantly evolving.
And fans worldwide have proven to be fiercely loyal – particularly Filipinos.
And finally, after decades of waiting, Manila, Philippines will get to prove they are among the greatest in the world, as the Tampa, Florida-hailing band has officially set a course to invade local shores next year, February 12th 2026, as they perform in the country for the very first time at the Skydome, SM North EDSA.
Currently consisting of founder/drummer/singer Aaron Gillespie, keyboardist Christopher Dudley, guitarist Timothy McTague, bassist Grant Brandell and lead vocalist Spencer Chamberlain, UNDEROATH has always taken the road-less-travelled: starting as a Christian band that dabbled with heavier elements like metalcore, death metal and even black metal, the group found worldwide success when it blended soaring, melodic choruses with post-hardcore/screamo/metalcore verses that did not hold back.
Lyrically, the band tapped the vein and seamlessly connected to an entire generation, with the release of 2002’s The Changing of Times (which spawned the hit “When The Sun Sleeps”) and 2004’s They’re Only Chasing After Safety, which produced the gargantuan smash single “Reinventing Your Exit” which catapulted them into worldwide fame, gaining massive airplay from both MTV and radio.
Though the band did go through the proverbial ringer – riddled with member changes (including the shocking departure of Gillespie…) and ultimately their 2012 breakup – the music did not die down one bit; in fact, the band’s legacy was already cemented with its fanbase, and UNDEROATH never seemed to be lost in the consciousness of serious fans of the genre through the years – reason why their comeback in August 2015 was received more than well – and their releases since then have contributed to their expanding legacy which includes having toured and worked with giants like ALICE IN CHAINS, KORN and BRING ME THE HORIZON (to name a distinct few…).
Those who know could say that they are “nothing short of invincible.”
So if you’re serious about music and even more serious about having a good time, be sure to grab your tickets as they go on sale this November 15th at 12PH Time via SM Tickets outlets nationwide and/or online through smtickets.com. Fans will definitely be stoked to know that a VIP with Meet N’ Greetpackage will be made available for only PHP 6,000.00, whileVIPand GenAd tickets will be for sale for PHP 4,500 and PHP 3,500 respectively.

Bring the whole kingdom and join the fun as premier event company QR Events Solutions presents “Shrek The Musical” at Newport Performing Arts Theatre on November 15, 22, 29, and December 13, 2025. Showtime is at 8 pm.
“Shrek The Musical” is based on DreamWorks’ blockbuster animated film and William Steig’s book about a green ogre who lives in isolation in a swamp to escape fear and mockery. Shrek’s happy solo existence is disrupted by a band of homeless fairytale characters and the little Lord Farquaad who offers the ogre a deal: he will reinstate the characters to their homes if Shrek rescues the lovely Princess Fiona.
With music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, “Shrek The Musical” has wowed audiences on Broadway and the West End. The Broadway production received 12 Drama Desk Awards and eight Tony Award nominations including Best Musical and acting nominations. Linda Winer of Newsday wrote, “Shrek The Musical is sweet, big and extremely lovable.”
The Philippine production stars a topnotch cast of 40+ actors led by Jamie Wilson as Shrek, Krystal Kane as Fiona, Topper Fabregas as Donkey, Alfredo Reyes as Lord Farquaad, and Julia Serad as Dragon. Dexter Santos is the director and the musical director is Ejay Yatco.
For Jamie Wilson, who is celebrating his 45th anniversary as an actor this year, Shrek is a dream role. “I’ve been wanting to play Shrek. When I told my friends and family I was playing Shrek, they said, ‘Perfect! The only difference is you’re going to be green.’ I love Shrek because he’s an ogre, but he has a heart of gold. He’s an ogre, but he’s the same as every other regular guy, he has his ups and downs…”
He encouraged the audience to watch “Shrek The Musical” saying, “Iba yung energy, iba yung impact… that’s the magic of live theater!”
Doing a repeat concert can be thrilling, but it also comes with its own set of challenges, like when the show comes too similar to the first, providing a polished setlist, and building momentum. But not with iconic Filipino OPM supergroup, the Sessionistas. On October 18, 2025, The Theatre at Solaire transformed into a haven of nostalgia, love, and pure musical magic as The Sessionistas took the stage for Love, Sessionistas: The Repeat, their third reunion concert, following their sold-out February and April shows. Ice Seguerra, Nyoy Volante, Sitti, Duncan Ramos, Princess Velasco, Kean Cipriano, and Juris took us back to a soul-stirring celebration of timeless music, unbreakable friendship, and the enduring power of OPM.
From the moment the lights dimmed, the whole Solaire theater buzzed with anticipation. Directed by Ice Seguerra and musically helmed by Ivan Lee Espinosa, the production was a seamless blend of polished artistry and raw, heartfelt connection. The group opened the show with a Queen medley! “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Somebody to Love,” and “We Are the Champions!” were then followed by their Origin Medley, the songs that made them who they are today. Sitti performed her all-time favorite, “Tattooed on My Mind,” while Juris followed with “A Little Bit.” Ice took the stage and performed “Para lang Sa’yo,” followed by Duncan’s “Rainbow,” Nyoy’s “Someday,” Kean’s “Magbalik,” and Princess’s “Bad Romance.
Dear Sessionistas still stands out and is one of the crowd’s favorites. This is where fans submit letters about love (crushes, heartbreaks, triumphs) and life, which the artists read and respond to with songs fit to their stories. This night, “Count on Me,” “The Climb,” “Just the Way You Are,” and “Tuloy Pa Rin” were highlighted, and Kean’s advice of “Only those who quit fail” before the stage transitioned to “With a Smile” was followed by Kean’s “Susundan.”
Sessionistas Now – Another segment of amplifying the songs they personally wrote. “Hayaan,” “Lihim,” “The Right One,” “Ikaw ang wakas,” “Tell me now,” “Titingin Tingin,” and “Malinaw na Malabo.” The segment was then followed by performances for “Para Sa Akin” and “Nasaan.” They also delivered a Dance Break, a Rap Medley of “No Diggity,” “Superbass,” and “Lose Yourself,” and a BINI and SB19 performance. Nyoy, Duncan, and Kean performed a Big Band Medley of “Huwag Na Lang Kaya,” “Harana,” and “Buwan,” while Juris delivered a nostalgic blend of “Di lang ikaw,” and Ice performed a heartwarming stripped version of “Pagdating ng Panahon.”
Sessionistas let us enter their home while the girls, Juris, Sitti, and Princess, performed Sarah McLachlan’s “Little B,” and the boys rendered Coldplay’s “Fix You.” Ice, Juris, Sitti, and Princess thank each other for being there during the most difficult moments of their lives while they sing the best Filipino rendition of The Wicked’s “For Good,” followed by the top-notch song of 2025, “Golden,” by Huntrix.
The Sessionistas sing for a better Philippines, as they say, “Ang pinaka importanteng pagmamahal na dapat meron tayo ngayon ay ang pagmamahal para sa bayan. Sa lahat ng nangyayari ngayon, sana magkaisa tayo para ipakita sa bayan natin ang pagmamahal na karapat-dapat sa kanya. We want to pay tribute sa nangyayari sa kasalukuyan. Right now, we want to be conscious of everyone, para sa bayan. Mulat ang mga mata natin. Naririnig natin lahat, nakikita natin lahat. Naway managot ang mga kurakot, huwag nating kakalimutan.” They performed “Tatsulok” and “Halellujiah.” As the final chords of “I’ll Be There For You” echoed through The Theatre at Solaire, the crowd rose in a standing ovation—not just for the music, but for the memories, the message, and the magic that unfolded onstage.
The show wasn’t just a repeat—it was a reinvention. It was a masterclass in honoring the past while boldly embracing the present. From the thunderous Queen medley to the soul-baring “Dear Sessionistas” letters, every note stitched together a tapestry of memories, milestones, and the group’s genuine camaraderie, which made it feel like “home.”
Love, Sessionistas: The Repeat marked the third reunion concert of the iconic Filipino OPM supergroup, Sessionistas. The performance of these OPM powerhouse vocalists has become a symbol of timeless music and enduring friendship. Their concerts are more than performances, they’re shared experiences. A blend of nostalgic hits, heartfelt harmonies, fan stories, and reflections on love, life, and unity. The Sessionistas didn’t just sing; they reminded us why music matters. Why stories matter. Why connection, authenticity, and love—for each other and for the nation—matter.
And as the final notes rang out, what began as a one-off nostalgia event blossomed into a cultural phenomenon, one truth remained, the Sessionistas aren’t just artists, they are storytellers, soul-healers, and torchbearers of OPM’s heart.

Reeling from the global success of the blockbuster movie Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle released just two months ago, Filipino fans were up to experience a different dimension of the series. This time, we got to experience the iconic Demon Slayer soundtrack live, as played by the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra at The Theater at Solaire on October 11. Presented by Circles Entertainment, the concert was an entertaining spectacle for fans of the beloved anime series.
Known as one of the most popular manga and anime series to date, Demon Slayer has drawn the love and attention of millions of people of all ages – otaku and non-otaku people alike. Created by manga artist Koyaharu Gotoge, the manga has sold over 220 million copies worldwide, while the anime holds its place as one of the staple favorites on prominent streaming sites. It was no wonder then that the fans of the series were more than thrilled to attend the concert. Some wore their favorite Hashira’s haori while others flaunted their merch. Among girls, notable favorites were Nezuko’s pink kimono and Shinobu’s white haori with the fading pink and turquoise butterfly wings design.
The original Demon Slayer soundtrack, composed by Go Shiina and Yuki Kajiura, is filled with a lot of vibrant orchestral pieces, amplified with a bit of rock, and laced with an ingenious mix of Japanese as well as Bulgarian folk chants In fact, the powerful impact of its music is one of the things that made Demon Slayer the epic franchise that it is. The Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, composed of 18 musicians – 3 in the choir, 6 in the string section, 1 pianist, 2 in percussion, 1 guitarist, 5 in the wind section – entertained the crowd for a little over an hour.
The setlist was mainly composed of tracks from the 1st season of the franchise, taking inspiration from Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra’s orchestral arrangements during their Kimetsu no Kanade concerts in Japan.
As the orchestra regaled the crowd with their performance, a montage of the pivotal scenes in the anime were flashing across the screen. Starting off with “Demon Slayer Corps”, the beginning felt like a properly booming welcome, followed by the succinct opening music heard during the episode title introductions.
Watching the concert live was a great way to re-experience the beauty of the series. It was bittersweet to see the sequence of Tanjiro’s story. Bit by bit, with the help of the live music, the audience was taken back to the show’s gut-wrenching moments. It was a push and pull of emotions. The serene strings of “家族 (Family)” played when Tanjiro’s family was introduced, violently upturned by the ominous “悪夢 (Nightmare)” and “to destroy the evil” as the demons attacked their home.
The concert also included snippets of Tanjiro’s journey to become a member of the Demon Slayer Corps and his encounter with Muzan, the Demon King. Tracks like “真菰 (Makomo)”, “浄 (Purification)”, “水の呼吸 (Water Breathing)” and “鬼舞辻の匂い (The Scent of Muzan)” were included as well. Some comical moments also had their time in the spotlight, like when the infamous Taisho Secrets music played as well as during Zenitsu Agatsuma’s hilarious introduction.
Some stand-out performances during the concert included the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra’s somber renditions of the Kamado sibling’s themes — “Tanjiro’s Song” and “Nezuko’s Song” which captured the quintessential theme of the story: hope amidst tragedy. There were also the undeniable crowd-pleasers: the orchestral performance of LiSa’s “Gurenge” which had a lot of people in the audience and “Homura” which was a pleasant surprise as it was technically a song from the following arc: Mugen Train.

From world-class performances to songwriting collaborations, business matchmaking to industry dialogue, this year’s edition proved that the true rhythm of Southeast Asia lies in its spirit of community, innovation, and collaboration
AXEAN Festival 2025 recently concluded its most triumphant edition yet at Jimbaran Hub in Bali, Indonesia, attracting nearly 4,000 attendees and cementing its place as one of the region’s most influential music discovery platforms.
With glowing reviews praising its impressive curation and visionary programming, the sixth edition of AXEAN Festival 2025 delivered a dynamic fusion of discovery, dialogue, and community. The festival not only celebrated the region’s finest emerging talents but also fostered meaningful exchanges between artists, industry professionals, and delegates from around the world, reinforcing its reputation as a bridge between Southeast Asia’s creative energy and the global music stage.
A Celebration of Discovery and Identity
This year’s edition featured a lineup of more than 40 artists across three stages, culminating in one of the weekend’s standout moments—the Club SEA Showcase. Dedicated to the explosive rise of grassroots and club music across the region, the showcase ignited the dance floor with stellar performances by Singapore’s Fauxe, Thailand’s S.O.L.E., Philippines’ DJ Love, and Indonesia’s Feel Koplo x Toxicdev!.
With their unique tapestry of local textures, tropical rhythms, and theatrical flair, these artists embodied AXEAN’s ethos of celebrating regional identity in global contexts, leaving audiences in awe and critics calling it “a defining moment in Southeast Asia’s club culture.”
Beyond the stage: a Platform for Growth and Exchange
Now in its sixth year, AXEAN Festival has grown into far more than a music showcase. It has evolved into a comprehensive cultural and business platform, one that nurtures collaboration, facilitates cross-border partnerships, and accelerates the professional development of Southeast Asian artists.
The festival’s conference programming impressed attendees with its forward-looking themes and engaging discourse. Over two days, panels and networking sessions explored vital industry topics, including:
1. Beyond the Upload: Strategies for Long-Term Growth for Southeast Asian Artists
2. Rethinking Music’s Footprint: Practical Pathways for Southeast Asia’s Music Scenes
3. From Funkot to Budots: The Booming Wave of Southeast Asia’s Grassroots Dance Music
4. Across the Pacific: Strengthening Music Ties Between New Zealand and Southeast Asia
The conference’s business matchmaking sessions and structured networking activities drew enthusiastic participation from regional and international delegates alike, creating new touring partnerships, booking opportunities, potential signings, and collaborative projects that will continue to resonate beyond festival grounds.
“The response was overwhelmingly positive,” said Mahanugru Kinzana, Head of Business & Commercial of Jimbaran Hub. “The structured networking sessions created genuine opportunities for dialogue between artists, managers, and delegates. AXEAN has become a rare space where serious industry conversations can happen within a creative, inspiring environment.”
Songwriting Camp: Building the Sound of Tomorrow
In line with its artist-first philosophy, AXEAN Festival 2025 extended its creative spirit beyond the main event through its Songwriting Camp, which brought together select artists and producers from across Asia to collaborate, co-create, and push the boundaries of regional sound.
“The songwriting camp was overflowing with talent—truly a gathering of geniuses from across Asia,” said Kinzana. “What stood out was how naturally diverse voices blended to create something fresh, yet deeply rooted in our region’s identity. For me, it reinforced a bigger realization: Southeast Asian music doesn’t just have talent, it has a distinct character that deserves a clear and strong positioning in the global music scene. The camp captured that spirit in the most inspiring way.”
AXEAN co-founder Piyapong Muenprasertdee shared the same sentiment, adding, “By the third day, something magical happened—all the artists came together to create one collective track, a true regional collaboration. More than writing songs, they build friendships and creative ecosystems that will carry forward long after the festival.”
Local Roots, Global Reach
This year also saw AXEAN deepening its ties with the local creative community through new partnerships with Jimbaran Hub and Bali-based organizations. A co-organized local music competition led to the discovery of standout talents Morbid Monke and Gozal, whose performances captivated international delegates and underscored the island’s growing relevance in the regional music map.
“Originally, we planned to feature just one winner, but the quality of the artists was so outstanding that we added a second slot,” shared Muenprasertdee. “These unexpected highlights reminded us of the importance of creating genuine opportunities for discovery and exchange.”
A Vision for the Future
Looking ahead, AXEAN Festival reaffirms its commitment to Bali as its home base, with ambitious plans to expand regionally through satellite events and stronger artist export pipelines. The next edition aims to enhance audience experience, sustainability, and global visibility, all while staying true to its core of inclusivity, collaboration, and discovery.
“We’re committed to growing the AXEAN Festival in Bali,” Kinzana asserts. “Bali offers a perfect balance: an international destination that combines serious industry engagement with world-class hospitality. Our next focus is to strengthen the story and experience of AXEAN so that more audiences connect deeply with what we stand for.”
Muenprasertdee added, “We hope to establish a permanent home for AXEAN here while also developing satellite events across the region to strengthen local ecosystems and create touring routes for our artists. Looking ahead, our strategy focuses on three key areas: (1) strengthening artist export pipelines by deepening ties with international delegates, (2) expanding fan engagement so AXEAN grows into both an industry platform and a beloved cultural festival, and (3) enhancing sustainability—financially, socially, and environmentally—so the festival can continue to thrive and evolve for years to come.”
About AXEAN Festival
The AXEAN Festival is a prominent Southeast Asian music export platform, combining a music conference and showcase festival.
Launched in 2020 during the pandemic by music professionals across Southeast Asia, AXEAN Festival has successfully hosted both virtual (2020-2021) and in-person (2022-2025) events. Over six editions, it has featured 200 artists from 20 countries, attracted 420 delegates from 32 countries, and reached over 46,000 virtual viewers, along with close to 18,000 live attendees.
With its growing international reputation, AXEAN has firmly established itself as Southeast Asia’s leading music export platform. Its first venture into a new market beyond its original home base in Singapore and Bali garnered widespread acclaim among attendees, music industry professionals, and participating artists.

FlipTop, the country’s biggest, longest-running, and world’s most viewed Battle Rap organization, return with the icons of the genre in back-to-back concerts in Cebu and Manila!
On November 7, Friday, FlipTop LIVE goes to Cebu City’s IC3 Convention Center with the Philippines’ hip-hop titans — king of rhymes Loonie, OG hitmaker Gloc-9 and Filipino American music activist Bambu De Pistola. Joining the three in Cebu are rapper KJah from Caloocan, Visayan group No Pets Allowed and Cebuano emcee Mistah Lefty, as well as DJs a.k.a. Turntablism artists Phatrick, Short, and Supreme Fist.
On November 8, Saturday, Loonie, Gloc-9, Bambu De Pistola with KJah and DJs Phatrick and Supreme Fist are performing at the Metrotent Convention Center in Pasig. Undefeated battle emcee and 2017 Isabuhay Champion Mhot, Filipino HipHop legends Kemikal Ali and DJ Arbie Won, and Muntinlupa’s finest DJ Nicko, complete the lineup for FlipTop LIVE’s Manila leg.
In a post on Instagram, Bambu De Pistola said, “I’m extremely honored to be able to come back and rock with two of my favorite emcees from back home: Gloc-9 and Loonie… For the first time ever, I’m bringing DJ Phatrick along for the party, so I’m excited to be able to bring our set to my folks. Looking forward to getting on the ground and building!”
Gloc-9, meanwhile, said he feels nostalgic about these concerts. “I always love coming back to Cebu dahil isa ito sa mga lugar na lagi kong binibisita noong ako’y nagsisimula pa lang. At may Manila leg pa (ang FlipTop LIVE)! To perform in an event that I’ve always respected and been a fan of ever since is really special.” This very first installment of the FlipTop LIVE concert will focus on shorter lineups but longer and heavier performances, it will also highlight the art of DJ-ing — one of the four main elements of HipHop culture.
Although a purely musical concert as opposed to their usual battle rap events, organizer Anygma declares that FlipTop LIVE in Cebu and Manila would still have something for every kind of fan. He said, “Meron para sa Battle Rap fans, meron para sa HipHop Music fans!”
Gloc-9 assured the shows will be topnotch. “I know all the hard work and passion that Anygma and his team puts into the concerts, that is why I am all the more excited. Kitakits!”
Tickets are now available through online reservation via the FlipTop Battle League Facebook page, and in-store at Apollo Sports Bar in Mandaue City, Cebu, and at Baraks in Mandaluyong City. Fans can also avail of the Barkada Promo Bundles in “Buy 6, Get 1 Free” for the General Admission section, and “Buy 7, Get 1 Free” for the VIP section. All ticket tiers come with one free FlipTop Beer, and the SVIP tickets also include a toot bag giveaway containing several event merch items.
