  • Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista and Indonesian Superstar Raisa Team Up in a Powerful Southeast Asian Collaboration of ‘Rainbow’

Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista and Indonesian Superstar Raisa Team Up in a Powerful Southeast Asian Collaboration of ‘Rainbow’

This fresh take on the South Border classic also marks Bautista’s first release under Sony Music Entertainment.

Asia’s Romantic Balladeer, Christian Bautista, has dropped his long-awaited single, “Rainbow,” out today via his new record label, Sony Music Entertainment.

The heartfelt duet, featuring Indonesian singer-songwriter Raisa, reimagines the South Border classic as a soulful pop-R&B ballad blending Christian Bautista’s smooth baritone with Raisa’s velvety vocals in a lush, emotionally charged arrangement that captures the kind of longing and connection that lingers long after the last note.

“‘Rainbow’ is one of those songs that’s always stayed with me,” says Bautista. “It resonates deeply, not just in the Philippines, but also in Indonesia. Working on it with Raisa gave it new energy and meaning, and it felt right to share it in this way now.”

Simply because I love this song—I grew up with this song—and I didn’t even know at first that it was a Filipino artist who sang it!” shares Raisa. “When I found out, I was surprised. It has such a special meaning—not just about love but about life. It’s a reassurance of rainbow after the rain. It’s something people can relate to and carry with them every day.”

Christian Bautista and Raisa’s rendition of “Rainbow” delivers a heartfelt interpretation of the timeless OPM classic, heralding an exciting new era for both Southeast Asian music icons. The collaboration was made possible thanks to a 13-city ASEAN concert in Japan, where Bautista and Raisa shared the stage as fellow performers.

Bautista recalls, “We got along very well as friends and as performers during that time. It became a natural idea for us to want to collaborate. We talked about the songs we both loved, and ‘Rainbow’ stood out for both of us. That’s when everything started to fall into place. It wasn’t just the melody, it’s message of hope, comfort, and being there for someone through life’s storms really resonated with both of us.”

Christian is already so big in Indonesia—I grew up listening to him,” Raisa adds. “He’s such a great balladeer and vocalist. We finally got to spend time together on that Japan tour. What I admire most is his musicality and his beautiful personality. When the idea to collaborate came up, of course, I said yes.

Christian Bautista has long held a strong presence in Southeast Asia, particularly in the Philippines and Indonesia, where his music, performances, and sincere artistry have earned him a devoted following. Known for his romantic ballads and warm stage presence, he became a household name through his hit songs and regional television appearances. This deep connection with audiences in both countries makes his duet with Raisa not only meaningful but a natural and highly anticipated musical moment in the region.

“This has been a long-awaited collaboration for many of our fans across the region,” shares Bautista. “We’ve both heard from listeners in the Philippines and Indonesia who’ve been hoping for this moment, so it feels incredibly special—not just for us, but for everyone who’s supported our music. We’re truly grateful to Sony Music for helping bring it to life.”

“The Philippines is a huge market with so many great singers and amazing music,” Raisa notes. “I’ve never tapped into that market before, and I want to expand my reach. I hope the Filipino audience will welcome me.

Raisa is a multi-awarded Indonesian singer-songwriter, celebrated for her soulful voice, heartfelt ballads, and elegant artistry that have made her a standout in the region’s music scene. Known for her ability to blend emotional depth with modern pop sensibilities, she has released numerous chart-topping singles and critically acclaimed albums. With millions of loyal listeners across Southeast Asia and collaborations with some of the region’s top talents, Raisa continues to shape the sound of contemporary Indonesian pop and remains one of its most influential and admired voices.

Their musical chemistry is evident in the track, with each of their distinct yet complementary vocals shining both individually and in harmony.

With a timeless song like this, you really shouldn’t do too much,” Raisa explains. “We kept the arrangement close to the original but adjusted it to fit a male-female duet—some key changes, harmonies, and little details. Every step of the way, we made sure we honored the song. It’s such a huge song from the Philippines—we just wanted to do it justice.

“We discovered how well our vocal styles complemented each other when we performed together,” Bautista shares. “We both give our all in every performance, but we also know when to step back and let the other shine. That balance was key in making this rendition emotionally captivating and honest.”

Paying homage to the original arrangement while infusing it with a contemporary, cross-cultural resonance was no small feat. With a collaborative team of both Filipino and Indonesian producers and arrangers, each attuned to the musical sensibilities of their cultures, the duet was crafted to resonate widely without losing its emotional core.

The biggest challenge was time,” Raisa admits. “We recorded together but couldn’t finish at the same time due to our tight schedules, so we had to complete parts separately. That’s hard for a duet—you have to match details like vibrato, phrasing… But in the end, we blended well, and I really think we gave the song something fresh while still paying homage to the original. And honestly, I think Filipino and Indonesian listeners have a lot in common—we both love ballads, romantic themes, 90s R&B, and a touch of nostalgia,” Raisa adds. “There’s a natural connection between our audiences.

The multi-awarded Filipino pop icon explains, “Staying true to the spirit of the original while making it meaningful for today’s listeners was something we truly cared about,” shares Bautista. “We each brought our reflections into the song, hoping it would resonate in a deeper, more intimate way—wherever in the world it’s heard.”

As for what’s next? The fans have every reason to be excited.

“We’re currently planning joint performances and a music video,” Bautista teases. “This isn’t the end: it’s a continuation of a musical bridge between the Philippines and Indonesia. We hope to open more doors for future collaborations.”

I certainly hope so,” says Raisa. “This song will truly come to life when performed in person. It’s just another reason for me to visit the Philippines—or for Christian to come back to Indonesia! When you collaborate with a dear friend, it’s always more fun to do things together. It makes the experience that much more soulful.

Rainbow” by Christian Bautista featuring Raisa is now available on all major streaming platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.

Title track “I WANT IT” is an electronic dance-pop song with a powerful synth riff and rhythmic progression that creates an instantly addictive hook. • It All Started In May Releases Second Single: “Pasado”

It All Started In May Releases Second Single: “Pasado”

Following their explosive debut with “O’ Kay Tamis,” OPM sensation “It All Started In May” (IASIM) has gifted fans their second single, “Pasado,” now available on all streaming platforms. This release comes just one month after their debut — a direct response to overwhelming demand from their rapidly growing fanbase, affectionately dubbed “Mayopets” — a clever fusion of the Filipino word for May, “Mayo,” and “malupet,” which means impressive or cool.

“Pasado” is about admiring someone from afar, wondering if they’re out of your league, filled with the uncertainty of being able to meet their standards. The song lyrically asks questions such as, “Mali nga ba ang humanga sa isang katulad mo?” (“Is it wrong to admire someone like you?”) while its catchy chorus reinforces this sentiment: “Coz’ it feels like you’re out of my league, out of my league, oh baby! Parang hindi pasadopasado sa iyo!” (It feels like I can’t pass your standards).

With its fun, lighthearted, and memorable melody, “Pasado” is an easy listen that makes it a perfect addition to any playlist. Both fans and new listeners alike are sure to appreciate the infectious energy of this track.

The band is composed of five members: Red as lead vocals and guitar, Mikee on drums, Jai on keyboard, Pau on rhythm guitar and vocals, and JP on bass and vocals. They released their debut single “O’ Kay Tamis” last May and it has been well-received. Apart from the song being used by a lot of people in their social media content, “O’ Kay Tamis” has also been featured in six editorial playlists on Spotify — definitely a big achievement for a new band!

As IASIM continues to gain momentum in the music scene, fans can look forward to more exciting releases — and gigs — in the coming months.

  • MY FIRST STORY in Manila: A Captivating J-Rock Experience

MY FIRST STORY in Manila: A Captivating J-Rock Experience

Japanese rock band MY FIRST STORY made their much-awaited Philippine concert stage debut at the SM North Skydome on July 24. Amidst the heavy rains that blanketed the past week, their fans, known as Storytellers, braved the roads and the skies to rock out with the band. Presented by PULP Live World, the concert captivated the audience from start to finish.

Composed of Hiroki Moriuchi / Hiro on vocals, Teruki Nishizawa / Teru on guitars, Nobuaki Kato / Nob on bass and Shohei Sasaki / Kid’z on drums, MFS has steadily made their own mark in the J-rock industry since 2011. Their mix of pop-punk, electronic and post-hardcore melodies, elevated with Hiro’s flowing high-pitched vocals, has become their trademark sound spread over their six studio albums. The had played in major music festivals in Japan including Summer Sonic and Rock in Japan, and performed as supporting acts for All Time Low and Fall Out Boy on 2013 and 2018 respectively.

Their Manila show highlighted their popular tracks as well as their most recent releases. Setting things into motion was the buoyant go-getter “WINNER”. Immediately the entirety of the crowd was on their feet, disregarding the seated set-up that the venue had planned. This was followed by tracks off their latest albumThe Crown: “Mirage”, “Tokyo Midnight” and “Boyfriend”.

The no-photo-and-video rule made for an immersive live experience which Storytellers fondly took advantage of as they jumped, sang and clapped to the beat of each MFS song. The members of the band also made sure to keep the crowd engaged, encouraging them to sing along to “Never let you down, never let you down, baby” during “PARADOX” and the harmonic “oh woah oh oh” in “mine”.

Midway through their set, the band’s drummer Kid’z took the time to talk to the crowd. Reading out of a cue, he said, “Masaya akong makita kayo. Kami ang My First Story. Ako po si Kid’z.” The other members followed suit and introduced themselves in Filipino. Fans chanted “pogi”, much to the curiosity of the band. “Does that mean cool?” Hiro asked, to which the crowd unanimously said yes. The four members smiled and Kid’z thanked them for the compliment.

Kid’z also asked the crowd if they liked anime, mentioning titles like Dragon Ball, One PieceNaruto and Demon Slayer. Hiro chimed in Jujutsu Kaisen and very briefly sampled Eve’s “Kaikan Kitan”, the opening song from the first season.

MFS proceeded to slow down a bit as they played the delicately yearning “Confession”. Soaking up the mellowness of the moment, Storytellers raised their phone’s flashlights up and swayed their arms to the rhythm of the song. Hiro, noticing the lights, said a short but sweet “thank you”, then continued to sing impeccably.

Towards the end of their set, MY FIRST STORY also performed their heavier scream-laden tracks including “MONSTER”, “Monokuro Effector” and “ALONE”. It was a huge sing-along as they played “MUGEN” which was the opening song for the fourth season of Demon Slayer and the infectiously melodic “I’m a mess” and the finale “Fukagyaku Replace”. “This is a beautiful night! Thank you so much,” Hiro shouted before bidding the crowd goodbye.

Overall, the show was super enjoyable for longtime Storytellers and casual fans alike. MY FIRST STORY gave the Filipino crowd the quintessential J-rock experience – no phones, just music. Loud as it was, their music resonated well all throughout the show. The stage production was also top-notch. Even though the Skydome normally has minimized capacities compared to arenas, the lighting, the screen visuals and sound quality felt grand.

Special thanks to PULP Live World!

The Kings Are Back! SUPER JUNIOR Returns for Their 20th Anniversary TOUR <SUPER SHOW 10> in MANILA!

Get ready to wave your lightsticks high, E.L.F. – the legends of K-Pop are coming back to paint Manila with sapphire blue! SUPER JUNIOR is officially returning to the Philippines to celebrate two decades of music and memories with their highly anticipated SUPER JUNIOR 20th Anniversary TOUR <SUPER SHOW 10> in MANILA, happening on October 4, 2025, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena

Since their debut in 2005, SUPER JUNIOR has set the global stage ablaze with their genre-defying discography from the iconic earworm “Sorry, Sorry”, the infectious “Mr. Simple”, the jazzy “Midnight Blues”, to the Latin-pop banger “Lo Siento”. Over the years, SUPER JUNIOR has long cemented their status as global icons in the K-Pop industry. They earned the title of being the first overseas artist to win Asia’s Artist of the Year at the Tencent Stars Magnificent Ceremony in China in 2006, and the second musical group to win Favorite Artist Korea at the 2008 MTV Asia Awards. Additionally, SUPER JUNIOR made history as the first Asian artist to receive the International Artist Award at the Teen Choice Awards in 2015, which became a significant milestone for the Hallyu Wave.

SUPER JUNIOR made a powerful comeback with the release of their 12th full-length album Super Junior25 on July 8, 2025. The album made an incredible impact, with the music video for its title track “Express Mode” garnering over 8 million views within just five days of release. This proves that the group continues to deliver electrifying performances and music that captivate fans of all ages. Super Junior25 is a celebration of the group’s enduring legacy, showcasing exactly why, even after more than two decades, they remain one of the most influential names in K-Pop.

What makes this show even more special is that PULP Live World isn’t just bringing SUPER JUNIOR back—they’re the reason the group ever stepped foot on a Philippine stage. In 2010, PULP Live World made history by bringing them to the country with SUPER SHOW 2, marking the very first K-Pop concert in the Philippines. Now, presented once again by PULP Live World, SUPER SHOW 10 marks another unforgettable chapter in the story between SUPER JUNIOR and Filipino E.L.F. As the group celebrates two decades in the industry, fans will have the chance to sing, cheer, and create new memories with their idols in a night filled with energy and love. • Eric Martin to Bring the Music of Mr. Big Back to the Philippine Concert Stage

Eric Martin to Bring the Music of Mr. Big Back to the Philippine Concert Stage

THE BIG VOICE, A LOT OF BIG SONGS AND BIG LOVE. THE VOICE OF MR. BIG: ERIC MARTIN UNLEASHED AND UNPLUGGED WITH DAVID COTTERILL IS A SHOW MADE FOR FILIPINO MUSIC LOVERS!

Sure, there are great singers from different generations and parts of the world – those who can hit high notes, carry tunes and harmonies, and well, just be good at what they do. And there are performers who know how to work a crowd: from the serious aficionados to casual fans. It’s a rarity to have both rolled into one, and this simply differentiates the talented from the iconic.

    And then there’s Eric Martin.

For decades, Martin has been the voice of what is probably one of the greatest hard rock supergroups ever to roam the world, Mr. Big, with humongous hits in tow and with a dizzying amount of musical technique in hand: from screeching, balls-out scorchers like “Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy (The Electric Drill Song),” and “Colorado Bulldog,” to Top 40 chart toppers like “To Be With You,” “Wild World,” Nothing But Love,” “Stay Together,” “Take Cover” and timeless ballads like “Just Take My Heart,” “Promise Her The Moon,” “Anything For You,” and many more. Surely, it wasn’t just the collective’s ability to finely craft tunes that were both musically jaw-dropping AND radio-ready, but it was also Martin’s distinct vocal prowess that not only impressed audiences and fans, but captivated music lovers and left an indelible impression on music fanatics. Simply put, with just a few notes in, anyone can tell it’s Eric Martin – there is simply no one who sings or sounds like him.

Which is why PULP Live World is proudly giving Filipino fans the rare opportunity to hear – and experience that very same magic – of the singer/songwriter this September 15th, 2025, at the Skydome, SM North Edsa. Officially dubbed as The Voice of Mr. Big Eric Martin: Unleashed and Unplugged (with David Cotterill), it’s definitely a spectacle with no frills and no grandiose gimmicks – just pure, soulful singing and raw emotion Pinoys have always related to, and in turn, have always sung-along to.

    Eric Martin

Truly a night that will celebrate timeless tracks and Martin’s deeply personal relationship with the Philippines, the set promises to be all-killer, no-filler – and is surely an event all types of music fans should not miss – from the sentimental to the balls-out-rock fans who enjoy a healthy dose of grit with their melodies.

And ticket prices are hard to beat: VIP tickets are at PHP 3,000 (which include Soundcheck and Meet n’ Greet access), and Regular tickets are at PHP 2,000, and will be made available through SM Tickets outlets nationwide, and online via www.smtickets.com starting August 2, 2025.

For more information and details regarding the show, keep tuned in to PULP Live World’s SNS pages, pulpliveworld.com, and PULP Magazine’s official site.

  • A Grand Ode to OPM: Marco Sison’s ‘Seasons of OPM’ Unfolds at The Theatre at Solaire

A Grand Ode to OPM: Marco Sison’s ‘Seasons of OPM’ Unfolds at The Theatre at Solaire

This July, Original Pilipino Music will take center stage in a celebration unlike any other, as Marco Sison—one of the most cherished voices in the Filipino music scene—presents ‘Seasons of OPM’, a landmark solo concert that promises an evening of nostalgia, reverence, and artistry. Set to be held on July 25, 2025, at 8:00 o’clock p.m. at The Theatre at Solaire, this extraordinary event is more than just a showcase of beloved hits—it is a heartfelt tribute to the soul of Filipino music and a journey through its most defining eras.

Produced by Echo Jham Entertainment in collaboration with Toplex Advertising, ‘Seasons of OPM’ is a musical journey through time and is envisioned as a sweeping retrospective of the rich tapestry that is Original Pilipino Music. From the tender strains of traditional kundiman to the powerful ballads and iconic anthems of the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s, Marco Sison will guide audiences through a sonic timeline that mirrors the evolution of a nation’s heart and soul.

“This concert is a love letter to OPM,” says Marco. “It’s my way of thanking the music that shaped my life and career, and sharing it with fans old and new.”

For Marco Sison, whose career has spanned decades with hits like ‘Make Believe’, ‘Ikaw Lamang’, ‘My Love Will See You Through’, and ‘Si Aida, Si Lorna o Si Fe’, this show marks a creative turning point. While he’s long been known as a romantic balladeer, ‘Seasons of OPM’ will showcase a bolder, more expansive Marco—one who’s ready to embrace a diverse palette of genres in a show-stopping performance that reflects his enduring versatility and evolution as an artist.

‘Seasons of OPM’ is a star-studded night of music and meaning.

Under the masterful direction of Calvin Neria, one of today’s most sought-after concert directors, the show will be a production masterpiece—elegant, emotionally rich, and unforgettable. Musical direction will be led by none other than Louie Ocampo, the legendary composer behind many OPM classics, including Marco’s own iconic hit ‘Si Aida, Si Lorna o Si Fe’.

Joining Marco on stage are some of the brightest stars in Philippine entertainment. Led by Vice Ganda, Rey Valera, Nonoy Zuñiga, and Concert King, Martin Nievera—each one a luminary in their own right. Their participation adds a layer of magic, creating moments of collaboration that are sure to bring both chills and cheers.

Yet beyond the fanfare, the concert also holds a more intimate, poignant dimension. ‘Seasons of OPM’ will honor two of Marco’s dearly departed friends and fellow legends—Rico J. Puno and Hajji Alejandro—in a moving tribute that recognizes their invaluable contributions to the OPM landscape.

As one of OPM’s timeless voices, Marco Sison has earned his place in the pantheon of greats. But rather than rest on past laurels, he sees ‘Seasons of OPM’ as a platform for something even greater… inspiring the next generation.

“I hope this show encourages young artists to discover and embrace OPM,” he says. “Our music is a treasure. It tells our stories. And it deserves to live on.”

Marco’s recent digital single ‘Sabik na Puso’—a tender track that continues to gain traction across platforms—serves as proof that his artistry remains as vibrant as ever. With ‘Seasons of OPM’, he opens a new chapter, proving that true artistry knows no age, and that the heart of OPM beats strong and steady.

Whether you’re a lifelong fan or a newcomer eager to experience the richness of Filipino music, ‘Seasons of OPM’ is a concert not to be missed. It’s more than just a performance—it’s a celebration of memory, melody, and meaning.

Tickets are now available via TicketWorld and at the Solaire Box Office.

Come and witness Marco Sison as he leads us through the seasons of our music, our memories, and our hearts. This July the 25th, let the music play—and let OPM shine like never before.

  • Top 5 kilig moments from Puregold Channel’s hit digital series, Si Sol at si Luna!

Top 5 kilig moments from Puregold Channel’s hit digital series, Si Sol at si Luna!

Whenever two people are bound by a strong chemistry, the way towards love is often made more thrilling by a sense of anticipation, fleeting moments that intensify rather than detract from romantic fulfillment. Seven episodes into Puregold’s Si Sol at si Luna, avid viewers of the hit digital series are caught in the spell, not just through Sol and Luna’s furtive glances or almost-kisses, but also because of the deep and strong attraction brewing between them.

Love is love in any language but for Filipinos who perpetually need a dopamine fix, kilig—the butterflies in the stomach or the shiver down the spine—is what best describes the sensation they feel as they watch sweet romance unfold. Here, we present Si Sol at si Luna’s top five kilig moments that had its followers squealing into their pillows.

    1. That First Glimpse (Episode 1, “Babae sa Bus”)
Sometimes, kilig comes quietly. In the very first episode, Sol (Zaijian Jaranilla) captures Luna (Jane Oineza) crying on the bus as he gathers clips for his documentary, marking the series’ turning point. As if drawn by a strong irresistible force, Sol resolves to know Luna’s story.
Moments of tenderness and vulnerability, gleaned from Luna and Sol’s compelling attraction for each other, are what get fans hooked on the unfolding story.
In Puregold’s ‘Si Sol at si Luna’ the kilig is never-ending.
Sol and Luna share a quiet moment in the midst of unfolding emotions.
Sol gets to know Luna on a deeper level in the next episode.
    1. Ben and Luna during the Office Karaoke Party (Episode 3, “Chasing the Girl”)
As viewers’ comments attest, not all the kilig moments are between Sol and Luna. During team leader Ben’s (Joao Constancia) birthday karaoke celebration, viewers couldn’t help swooning over how he showed affection for Luna–from listening to her emotional performance (while everyone seemed to ignore her song) to making sure she got home safe.
Ben may not be the series’ main lead, but his feelings for and careful attention to Luna were not lost on viewers.
Luna’s smile appears brighter with Sol.
Tension and tenderness build as Sol and Luna grow closer each week.
    1. When Sol Met the Family (Episode 6, “Meet the Family”)
Ara (Karina Bautista) and Sol’s team-up for a pretend “date” melted hearts. Ara’s fear of being seen as someone “unlovable” by her family was met with Sol’s steady kindness as he stepped in, no questions asked.
When they held hands during her family gathering, the comfort between them felt natural, and fans couldn’t help wondering, is there a possibility that they would end up together?
Moments shared between Sol and Luna continue to resonate with audiences.
Luna’s team leader Ben, who seems to be very fond of her, meets Sol.
    1. Luna Waits for Sol (Episode 6, “Meet the Family”)
In the same episode, Luna and Sol finally scheduled an interview for the project, but Sol was stuck at Ara’s family event. As the day wore on, tension built. Sol was running late but in the final shot, he comes upon Luna, still there, waiting.
That scene convinced fans that Luna wanted to see Sol, no matter how long it took. Sometimes, kilig is in the waiting.
As the story progresses, Sol and Luna’s bond becomes increasingly difficult to ignore.
Each encounter between Sol and Luna adds new layers to their evolving relationship.
    1. The Almost “Kiss” (Episode 7, “The Interview”)
Of course, the top kilig moment was the intimate, emotionally charged interview in Luna’s apartment. As she opened up, Sol became visibly more drawn to her—not just emotionally, but physically. He was seemingly engrossed in filming her, but it was clear that he was barely listening, as he was lost in the moment. When they both reached for something that dropped on the floor, their faces drew close, and for a second, viewers thought they would kiss. Chemistry, timing, and an intimate setting made for the most recent episode’s most exciting kilig moment.
What kilig does the next episode have in store for us?
Ben catches Sol and Luna kissing in the next episode of the much-awaited series.
Will Sol and Luna finally meet halfway? The latest episode may hold the answer.

It’s a weekly treat, a break from life’s sameness and routine, the way Puregold Channel continues to deliver not just kilig, but a story that feels real and relatable.

In Episode 8 ‘Field Trip sa Real World?’, we will know if Sol will fall even deeper, and whether Luna will meet him halfway. And if she does, how will the world react? Will there be more kilig? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Catch Si Sol at si Luna’s 8th episode on Saturday, July 19, at 7 PM, only on Puregold Channel.
