Fast-rising Singapore-based bands return home to share the stage with Philippine bands

Bistro Rising 2025 returns to Manila with a renewed sense of purpose, bringing together some of the most promising Filipino indie artists from Singapore and the Philippines in a cross-cultural music showcase. The highly anticipated event will take place at 70’s Bistro in Quezon City on December 29, 2025.

Co-headlining the show are three Singapore-based Filipino bands that have steadily gained recognition within the Lion City’s underground music circuit: soul-pop act iLaya, indie rock outfitNostress, and ‘80s new wave-inspired band The Next Wave. The trio will share the stage with Shumi, a Bulacan-based city pop band, and Rooftop Reveries, an indie pop-rock group known for their compelling songwriting and polished live performances.

Bistro Rising 2025 is presented by Mushi Entertainment. The show is part of a broader effort to strengthen creative ties between the Philippines and Singapore, both of which are linked by an increasingly visible community of Filipino musicians and talents.

This year’s program reflects the momentum that BGC is in right now, and aims to express a feeling of local pride and optimism, rooted in various breakthroughs that were achieved through synergy.

As one of the most international districts in the country, BGC and the City Government of Taguig’s choice to spotlight OPM is deliberate–in a city shaped by global ideas, nothing hits harder than coming home to the sound of our own.

At the core of the celebration is a powerhouse OPM lineup engineered to electrify the city. DJ Mars Miranda, Jay-R, Dionela, G22, Parokya Ni Edgar, TJ Monterde, KZ Tandingan, and SB19 lead the night with a succession of performances that reflect the full spectrum of Filipino sound—from nostalgic and comforting to modern and genre-breaking, but all proudly local.

Joining this powerful lineup is apl.de.ap, global Filipino icon and member of The Black Eyed Peas, whose presence bridges the local and international.

As 5th Avenue transforms into a living corridor of music and lights, the night extends into a shared visual journey. With immersive light choreography and LED satellite screens across the district, the entire community is part of the moment.

Capping off the night — and the year — BGC will light up the sky with its dual-zone fireworks display. The tradition has become a familiar part of the city’s New Year’s Eve, but it still carries that collective pause — a moment where everyone looks up, takes it in, and steps into the new year together.

Since its maiden year, NYE at the 5th has become one of Metro Manila’s most anticipated events, and for good reasons. It’s one that’s known for effectively merging artistry, technology, and a shared energy that sets the tone for the year ahead. This year’s celebration takes a moment to honor the now—the victories and breakthroughs of 2025—whilst opening the door to the next chapter, not only of BGC but of the people who live, work, and play in it.

There are artists who write songs about love, heartbreak or growing up. Topics we already expect from the music we consume. And then there’s Cavetown, who writes about all of that, but in a way that sounds like someone quietly sitting beside you while you’re curled up at your lowest. His music doesn’t tell you to “get better.” It just says, “You’re hurting. I get it. Sit here as long as you need.”

It’s no secret that EL CAPITXN and SUGA of BTS are close friends. The two South Korean talents have collaborated on several projects, including SUGA’s ownD-Day and D-2 solo albums, where EL CAPITXN played a significant role in writing and music production.

For his upcoming concerts in Manila and Bacolod, happening on December 12 and 14, respectively, EL CAPITXN plans to play “Dear My Friend,” a song by SUGA from his album D-2, co-written and co-produced by EL CAPITXN.

As a teaser for the special performance, EL CAPITXN released a rehearsal video where he is seen playing the electric guitar to the chords of “Dear My Friend.”

The song has a special place in both EL CAPITXN and SUGA’s hearts who have both expressed how cathartic this song was for both of them.

In an episode of “Suchwita,” SUGA’s YouTube series, EL CAPITXN talked about how memorable the live performance of “Dear My Friend” was, sharing that he still hasn’t gotten over that moment.

He also added that when he realized SUGA was crying, it “only took a second” for his own tears to start running down his face as a “panorama” of old memories flashed through his mind.

Legendary Soft Rock Duo Air Supply Celebrates 50 Years with a Live Concert in Passi City, lloilo

Passi City, (21 Nov) – The legendary soft rock duo Air Supply is finally coming to Passi City as part of their spectacular 50th Anniversary World Tour. Save the date, 11 January 2026, as they take the stage at the City of Passi Arena for an unforgettable night of iconic hits, timeless melodies, and pure nostalgia that fans will cherish for years to come.

South Korea-born bedroom pop artist Peach Luffe is set to bring his brand of dreamy introspection to The Rest Is Noise 44, happening on November 30, 2025, at Sari-Sari Bar in Makati City.

The Toronto-based act has been gaining traction in Southeast Asia, propelled by the viral success of his song “Ego.” The emotional track recently found a second life on TikTok and other digital platforms, where fans of the hit K-drama Weak Hero Class have been using it to soundtrack fan-made edits and reels. The song peaked at No. 8 on the Spotify Viral 50 charts in Philippines.

Peach Luffe is the dreamy indie-pop project of classically trained musician Jong Lee. Born in Seoul, raised in New York, and now based in Toronto, Lee blends lush soundscapes with whimsical nostalgia.
