According to the announcement, BABYMONSTER will visit eight cities across Asia โ Manila, Macao, Jakarta, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore, and Hong Kong โ as well as three cities in Oceania: Auckland, Melbourne, and Sydney. Titled โMinsan Maingayโ (Sometimes Loud) on May 8 and โMinsan Malumanayโ (Sometimes Calm) on May 9, the two-part show promises contrasting but complementary live sonic experiences, anchored in three main key points: accessibility, nostalgia, and community.

The โMinsan Gigs Skydomeโ series was conceived by key figures in the local music scene, including Monty Macalino of Mayonnaise and Jugs Jugueta of the Itchyworms, both ardent collaborators of the production outfit, with a clear objective to reintroduce audiences to the simple, unadulterated joy of watching live gigs again. Drawing inspiration from the resurgence of nostalgia-driven culture, the initiative was adopted by its founder, Jason Conananto reunite artists and audiences of the Route 196 era, while reimagining the experience within the confines of an accessible and inclusive setting.
Veering away from the usual concert formats, โMinsan Gig sa Skydomeโ takes a more relaxed, free-flowing approach. The FEU Center for the Arts (FCA) continues its Tutti Concert Series with Tutti Strings, featuring the Pundaquit Virtuosi from Zambales in a special Lenten performance of The Seven Last Words of Jesus Christ by Joseph Haydn. Presented in partnership with the FEU Campus Ministry, this free concert will take place on March 31 at 5 PM at the FEU Chapel, offering the Tamaraw community a moving musical reflection in preparation for Holy Week.
Adding a unique dimension to the performance, each of the Seven Last Words will be accompanied by a short reflection delivered by representatives from the FEU Community.
Founded in the quiet coastal village of Pundaquit, San Antonio, Zambales, the Pundaquit Virtuosi is led by internationally renowned Filipino violinist Coke Bolipata. Through his vision, music education has become accessible to children in the community, transforming lives and nurturing young talents through classical training and performance opportunities. What began as a grassroots initiative has grown into a respected ensemble known for its heartfelt performances and advocacy for arts education.
Reflecting on the significance of the featured piece, Bolipata shares, โHaydnโs Seven Last Words is a rare piece of music: one that invites stillness. It does not dramatize Christโs suffering so much as meditates on it.โ
Composed in 1786, Joseph Haydnโs The Seven Last Words of Christ is a deeply contemplative masterpiece originally written for Good Friday services in Cรกdiz, Spain. The work consists of seven sonatas, each reflecting one of Christโs final utterances on the Cross, framed by a solemn introduction and a powerful concluding movement. Revered for its emotional depth and spiritual intensity, the piece invites listeners into quiet meditation through expressive melodies and profound musical storytelling.

Directed by Paolo Valenciano, Kwarenta will showcase a career-spanning setlist drawn from The Dawnโs 1987 self-titled debut up to 2018โs Ascendant, signaling an even more ambitious and carefully curated productionโboth in concept and design.
Emerging in the mid-1980s, The Dawn helped define the modern Filipino band movement. Over the decades, the band has built a formidable catalog anchored by enduring anthems such as โEnveloped Ideas,โ “Salamat,” and โIisang Bangka,โ which have transcended eras and shifted cultural discussions. Their work has become part of the collective memory of Filipino audiences: performed in intimate gatherings and singing contests, large-scale concerts and battle-of-the-bands competitions, and everything in between.
Kwarenta, as a concept, is a comprehensive portrait of The Dawnโs journey as a collective. Their story is one of persistence and reinvention. Lineup changes, industry shifts, and the loss of key figuresโincluding founding guitarist Teddy Diazโhave emboldened their history and catapulted them into the pantheon of Pinoy rock greats. Joined by award-winning soprano Stefanie QuintinโAvila and celebrated pianist Najib Ismail, the concert honors the legacy of Ambassador Tomas C. Benitez, a lover of kundiman, and celebrates the richness of Filipino musical heritage. The event is presented by the MiraNila Heritage House & Library in partnership with Gallery MiraNila by The Blue Leaf, with support from MiraNamin Nest and the PhilippineโItalian Association.
A Spotlight on Filipino Classics The program features selections from the National Commission for Culture and the Artsโ (NCCA) newly recorded 13โtrack archiveโits first major initiative with the Manila Chamber Orchestra Foundation to digitally preserve Filipino classics performed by the nationโs finest voices.
The repertoire traces the kundimanโs evolution from patriotic beginnings to zarzuela, love songs, and modern art songs. World-Class Artists on One Stage Arthur Espiritu, fresh from his title role in Borodinโs Prince Igor_at the Munich Opera House, this rare spinto-tenor comes with his radiant tone and powerful artistry. He was recipient of the 2009 George London Award and the Scala award at the Belvedere Competition in Vienna. Having performed in prestigious opera productions and major venues across North America, Europe, and Asia, a critic once wrote, โWhen Arthur Espiritu sings, heaven opens up.โ
Stefanie QuintinโAvila, praised for her stylistic range and expressive clarity, reunites with Espiritu after their acclaimed 2024 collaboration. A recipient of the Delphic Lyra Award and multiple international citations, she will appear at the Gleam International Early Music Festival with Belgiumโs InAlto Ensemble in June 2026.

About the MiraNila Heritage House & Library Built in 1929, MiraNila is a house of the prewar grand style with gardens and interiors presenting a rare reminder of genteel Filipino life during the Commonwealth period. Spanning nine decades, it stood witness to events and personalities that related to the writing of three Philippine constitutions, the occupation by the Japanese imperial forces, the takeover by the U.S. First Cavalry, the creation of a national folk-dance company, and the founding of a political party intent on good local governance. The National Historical Commission of the Philippines acknowledged MiraNilaโs cultural and historic significance in 2011 with a plaque.

The YUGTO concert series is dedicated to highlighting contemporary Original Pilipino Music (OPM) by featuring performers who resonate deeply with todayโs music lovers. The series began with the successful “Unang Yugto” in August 2025, which featured Cup of Joe, Amiel Sol, Earl Agustin, and Maris Racal.
“Ikalawang Yugto” serves as a major follow-up for IV of Spades after their celebrated, sold-out comeback concert at the Mall of Asia Arena last December. For Kai Montinola and Kolette Madelo, the evening represents a grand introduction of their musical talents to a wider audience.
“Iโm so excited because Iโll get to meet and collaborate with new people through this project,” shared Kolette, who will be sharing the stage with IV of Spades and ArChan for the first time. Kai expressed her surprise and gratitude for the opportunity: “I’m very honored to be one of the chosen performers so early in 2026”.
For Christian Tibayan, the concert is a “high noon, game on” opportunity, marking ArChanโs first major performance since their championship win two months ago.
