The Click Five Return to Manila for “For Lovers Tour” This August 2026

American pop rock band The Click Five is heading back to the Philippines, bringing a wave of early 2000s nostalgia to Manila as part of their upcoming “For Lovers Tour.” Set for August 25, 2026 at New Frontier Theater, the highly anticipated concert marks another chapter in the band’s enduring connection with Filipino fans.

After successfully reigniting their presence across Southeast Asia through reunion tours in 2025, the band is once again set to deliver the infectious pop rock energy that made them one of the defining acts of the mid-2000s. Known for chart-topping hits such as Just the Girl, Jenny, and Catch Your Wave, The Click Five built a massive following in the Philippines during the peak of the Myspace era, where their catchy hooks and polished pop rock sound resonated strongly with Filipino listeners.

The Manila stop is expected to draw longtime fans eager to relive the soundtrack of their youth through a night filled with singalong anthems and nostalgic performances. The group’s previous Southeast Asian comeback shows in 2025 generated overwhelming demand, with tickets selling out quickly and audiences embracing the band’s return after more than a decade.

Originally formed in Boston in the early 2000s, The Click Five quickly rose to international fame with platinum-certified releases and a strong fanbase throughout Asia. During their original run, the band became one of the most viewed artists on Myspace and consistently sold out arenas across the region. Their return tour in 2025, which included stops in the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and New York, reaffirmed the band’s lasting popularity among both longtime supporters and newer listeners discovering their music.

For their 2026 “For Lovers Tour,” fans can expect a dynamic live set packed with fan favorites, emotional throwbacks, and the polished stage presence that made the group a staple of 2000s pop culture. The Manila concert at New Frontier Theater is poised to become one of the standout nostalgia events of the year for Filipino music fans.

Fresh off the release of their latest single, “heaven and hell,” the band also confirmed that a brand-new album is on the way this summer, marking the beginning of a new era for the globally celebrated act composed of Daniel Kim, John Cha, and Dong Q.

Promoted by Live Nation Philippines, “the pieces tour” will kick off on September 4 in Vancouver before heading across 21 cities in North America, including stops in Chicago, Boston, Minneapolis, Seattle, San Francisco, Atlanta, Austin, New York, and Los Angeles. Following the North American leg, the trio will bring the tour across Asia with performances scheduled in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore, Tokyo, and more.

The band currently boasts over 7 million monthly listeners on Spotify, while their hit track “seasons” has surpassed 500 million streams worldwide.

The trio first gained widespread international attention with releases such as wave 0.01 and summer flows 0.02 before dropping their critically acclaimed full-length album 0.1 flaws and all in 2023 under independent label WAVY. Its breakout single “bad” topped Spotify’s Viral 50 Global Chart, further cementing the band’s growing international success.

Their 2024 EP play with earth! 0.03 debuted at No. 5 on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut Global Chart and was followed by a completely sold-out North American tour. Earlier this year, the band also sold out a three-night concert run at Olympic Hall in Seoul within minutes.

  • Chicosci to Mark 20 Years of Landmark Album With Anniversary Show, Vinyl Release

Chicosci to Mark 20 Years of Landmark Album With Anniversary Show, Vinyl Release

MANILA — Influential Filipino rock band Chicosci is set to mark the 20th anniversary of its self-titled album with a live show on June 6, alongside the record’s first official vinyl release.

Titled A Toast to All Our Crimes, the anniversary show will center on the band’s 2006 release. A seminal project widely seen as a turning point in both Chicosci’s career and the broader local rock landscape during a period of transition for original Pilipino music. Composed of vocalist Miggy Chavez, guitarist Mong Alcaraz, bassist Eco del Rio and drummer Victor Guison, the band is set to unleash this exciting show to commemorate one of their most iconic records.

Released at a time when the scene was shifting between acoustic pop, “pogi rock,” and the fading wave of early nu metal, the album introduced a tighter, more aggressive sound that expanded the band’s reach. Its tracks became staples of packed live performances across the country, helping cement Chicosci’s crossover appeal.

“This album was a test for the band,” said Mong. “In 2006, it was a strange time in OPM. For the first time, we decided to do everything ourselves — writing, recording, production, marketing, packaging, and distribution. It was our first step as an independent band, and we’ve remained that band since.”

For the upcoming show, the band will perform the album in full, revisiting the material that defined its mid-2000s run while reintroducing it to a new live audience.

“We’ll be playing the White Album in its entirety, along with a few more songs,” shares Miggy. “We’ve been rehearsing a lot for this show, and we’re excited for people to experience it — even our soundcheck, if they’re into that.”

The anniversary also coincides with the album’s long-awaited vinyl release, answering years of demand from longtime listeners and offering a new entry point for younger audiences discovering the band’s catalog.

“I think it’s important for us to celebrate this album because it resonated with so many people,” Chavez said. “It means a lot to us, and it’s mind-blowing that it continues to mean a lot to others as well.”

Two decades on, Chicosci’s influence remains evident in a new wave of local acts that draw from the same blend of melody and weight. The anniversary show serves as both a reflection on the past and a test of the album’s enduring relevance.

“The album was a massive turning point for the band,” Chavez added. “Celebrating it 20 years later is a testament to how far we’ve come — and we couldn’t have done it without everyone who’s been with us along the way.”

A Toast to All Our Crimes: 20 Years of the Chicosci Album takes place on June 9 at Soundcheck Inc. in Pasig, with Kamikazee joining the lineup. Tickets are available at https://bit.ly/CHICOSCI20years.

  • Cup of Joe Builds Momentum for Historic Stadium Concert With New EP Sandali

Cup of Joe Builds Momentum for Historic Stadium Concert With New EP Sandali

With anticipation building for their biggest headline show to date, Cup of Joe is entering a defining new era with the release of their brand new EP, Sandali. The six-track project arrives just weeks before the highly anticipated SANDALI: Cup of Joe Fest happening on May 23, 2026 at the Philippine Sports Stadium — a milestone concert expected to gather thousands of fans in celebration of the band’s meteoric rise.

The North-grown hitmakers continue to reach new heights following the massive success of their album Silakbo, while also earning international recognition with a nomination at the Music Awards Japan 2026 for “Multo” under the Best Song Asia category. But before they take over the stadium stage later this month, Cup of Joe offers fans a glimpse into their current creative chapter through Sandali — a body of work shaped by shared experiences, personal growth, and the quiet lessons learned along the way. According to the band during a recent press conference, the EP reflects the maturity they’ve gained both as artists and as individuals navigating life together.

Designed with the energy of a live crowd in mind, Sandali feels tailor-made for the massive singalongs and emotional moments that fans can expect at Cup of Joe Fest. The EP opens with the powerful titular track “Sandali,” an anthem of resilience and loyalty, before moving into the nostalgic coming-of-age themes of “Pamahiin.” It then slows down with the emotional weight of “Kung Payagan” and “Lalayo,” eventually culminating in “Isang Daan,” a stirring anthem about overcoming fear and choosing a path forward. Together, the tracks create a cohesive narrative that mirrors the band’s journey — one that fans will soon witness unfold live onstage.

While Silakbo explored the raw and unpredictable stages of grief, Sandali emerges as a brighter, more hopeful continuation of that story. The band retains the soulful vulnerability and melodic storytelling that defined their earlier work, while embracing playful synths, bigger hooks, and a more urgent rhythmic energy fit for a stadium crowd. As Cup of Joe prepares for one of the biggest concerts of their career, Sandali stands as both a celebration of how far they’ve come and an invitation for listeners to grow alongside them.

  • “Minsan Gig sa Skydome” returns with two distinct nights of Sound and Community on May 8–9

“Minsan Gig sa Skydome” returns with two distinct nights of Sound and Community on May 8–9

Inspired by the Route 196 era, the series reconnects fans with the essence of Filipino live music.

Building on the enduring spirit of the local gig scene, Filipino events production company Minsan Studio continues the tradition of its newly minted series, “Minsan Gig sa Skydome,” this May 2026 for two consecutive nights with a diverse, cross-generational lineup. Titled “Minsan Maingay” (Sometimes Loud) on May 8 and “Minsan Malumanay” (Sometimes Calm) on May 9, the two-part show promises contrasting but complementary live sonic experiences, anchored in three main key points: accessibility, nostalgia, and community.

The “Minsan Gigs Skydome” series was conceived by key figures in the local music scene, including Monty Macalino of Mayonnaise and Jugs Jugueta of the Itchyworms, both ardent collaborators of the production outfit, with a clear objective to reintroduce audiences to the simple, unadulterated joy of watching live gigs again. Drawing inspiration from the resurgence of nostalgia-driven culture, the initiative was adopted by its founder, Jason Conananto reunite artists and audiences of the Route 196 era, while reimagining the experience within the confines of an accessible and inclusive setting.

Veering away from the usual concert formats, “Minsan Gig sa Skydome” takes a more relaxed, free-flowing approach. Attendees are encouraged to engage with the event on their terms, whether by watching full sets, stepping out for a break, bringing food, or simply enjoying the space at their own pace. Its bias toward familiarity and ease mirrors the organic nature of the gig culture it seeks to foster and revive.

According to Conanan, the series of gigs is also guided by Minsan Studio’s commitment to accessibility, both in ticket pricing and venue selection. By staging performances at SM Skydome, perched atop the country’s most prominent mall in Northern Metro Manila, the organizers aim to reach audiences who may not typically visit established gig venues such as bars and smaller music spaces. The addition of air-conditioned comfort, optional seating, and flexible viewing arrangements also expands the appeal, catering to both long-time gig-goers and new listeners alike.

The May edition includes two thoughtfully curated lineups:

    May 8: “Minsan Maingay”

A high-energy event featuring rock-driven and distortion-heavy acts (with the exception of one act) like Sandwich, Mayonnaise, NOBITA, Setsuna, One Click Straight, Chicosci, and Fragments.

    May 9: “Minsan Malumanay”

A more subdued but still fun night, showcasing indie and alternative acts such as The Ridleys, Minaw, The Bloomfields, Jensen & The Flips, Soapdish, El Manu, and Amiel Sol. The show also features a stand-up comedy set by James Caraan.

Both nights embody the evolving identity of the “Minsan Sa Skydome” series not as a conventional concert experience, but as an open, communal space for audience connection. As Conanan puts it, “Hindi ito concert. Gig lang. Enjoy lang.”

For tickets and inquiries, follow Minsan Studios’ official channels for updates.

Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the American pop singer-songwriter DAYA (Grace Martine Tandon) broke into the international music scene and quickly established herself as a distinctive voice in modern pop. She first rose to prominence in 2015–2016 at just 16 years old, transitioning from a high school student to a global name with her breakout single “Hide Away”, which gained rapid online traction. Presented in partnership with The Japan Foundation, Manila, and endorsed by Studio Ghibli, the concert—which comes as a timely follow-up to Studio Ghibli co-founder and Academy Award-winning filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki’s 2024 RamonnMagsaysay Award— is an official commemorative event of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Year 2026, marking the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This milestone year celebrates the theme: ‘Weaving the Future Together: Peace, Prosperity, Possibilities,’ highlighting decades of friendship, cooperation, and cultural exchange.

With original scores performed by the 83-piece Filharmonika Orchestra under the baton of Gerard Salonga, the purely orchestral program showcases the unforgettable music of acclaimed composer Joe Hisaishi, whose melodies have resonated across generations. For over four decades, Studio Ghibli has captured hearts with its richly imagined worlds and timeless storytelling, underscored by its memorable music.

Audiences will be swept away over approximately two hours of music, journeying through the whimsical castles of Howl’s Moving Castle, the enchanting streets of

Spirited Away, the heartwarming adventures in My Neighbor Totoro (with special narration), and the lively melodies of Kiki’s Delivery Service. Whether you grew up with these films or are discovering them for the first time, ThenSymphonic World of Studio Ghibli brings their magic closer to you.

Performances will take place across four shows: opening on July 31 at 8:00 PM, followed by August 1 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and concluding on August 2 at 2:00 PM, offering audiences multiple opportunities to experience the music live.

Guests are welcome to come in themed attire inspired by the films.
