Solaire Resort Entertainment City presents an unforgettable night with legendary hitmaker David Foster as part of its 10th anniversary celebration. “David Foster and Friends, Live at The Theatre at Solaire” is the first of its kind – an eight-show residency happening on March 21 to 26, 2023.
David Foster’s career has spanned over 4 decades which has garnered him the title of “THE HITMAN”, having written and produced many chart-topping songs that have propelled several artists to star status and have gone down the music industry’s history as legends, such as Whitney Houston, Madonna, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, and Michael Bublé.
He has created culture-defining soundtracks for blockbuster films including Joel Schumacher’s coming-of-age motion picture St. Elmo’s Fire, James Bridges’ 1980 flick Urban Cowboy, and Mick Jackson’s The Bodyguard starring Whitney Houston for her acting debut. He’s also the genius behind timeless holiday tunes that have become the anthem of the season like Josh Groban’s “Noel”, Michael Bublé’s “Christmas”, Celine Dion’s “These Are Special Times”, Rod Stewart’s “Merry Christmas Baby”, and Andrea Bocelli’s “My Christmas”.

In recent years, the world-renowned entertainer has toured across the United States to stage various performances of his show “An Intimate Evening with David Foster” some of which have been broadcasted on television across the country. He returns to Manila for a special 8-show visit as part of Solaire’s 10th-anniversary festivities where fans and the audience can expect to hear some of his greatest hits sung and interpreted by his guest artists.
Together with David, show-goers will also hear singer and actress Katharine McPhee who became a household name after her successful run on the 5th season of American Idol. Her first single, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow/My Destiny,” debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Hot Singles Sales chart, while her 2007 self-titled album debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 propelled by the gold-certified single, “Over It”. As an actress, she starred in the spy drama SCORPION (2014-2018) as ‘Paige Dineen’, and as one of the leads in the award-winning musical series SMASH (2012-2013), executive produced by Steven Spielberg. Her latest starring role is in the Netflix comedy series, Country Comfort (2021). In Spring 2018, Katharine made her Broadway debut as ‘Jenna’ in the hit musical Waitress, featuring music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles.
Another artist joining Foster is Pia Toscano who was one of the frontrunners on American Idol’s Season 10 run for her powerhouse voice and head-turning looks. Toscano performed alongside Jennifer Lopez in her Vegas Residency, “All I Have”, and regularly tours with David Foster and Andrea Bocelli. Pia released her first album, “I’m Good” with originally written music including a collaboration with Usher. She’s headlined her own show in Las Vegas which was filmed as a PBS special and has released a musical film entitled “1660 Vine”.
Also joining McPhee and Toscano is Daniel Emmet who appeared on America’s Got Talent with his spellbinding and commanding operatic voice. His wide range of expression spans musical genres from rock to pop, to opera, all the while singing in seven languages. Emmet released his acclaimed single “True Reflection” which debuted at #1 on the iTunes Classical Chart and has headlined shows in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace, T-Mobile Arena, Paris Las Vegas, and Westgate Las Vegas. He has toured with Marie Osmond, and most recently returned to America’s Got Talent this past season for a viral performance as the singing voice of Simon Cowell for the act of artificial intelligence company Metaphysic. Daniel regularly tours with David Foster and Katharine McPhee and recently held his highly anticipated new concert special “Daniel Emmet & Pia Toscano, Simply the Best” at the iconic International Theatre at Westgate Las Vegas.
“David Foster and Friends, Live at The Theatre at Solaire” will also feature some of the most prolific Filipino voices showcasing the distinct and world recognized Pinoy showmanship to an already incredible performance lineup. The Philippines’ Concert King Martin Nievera will join the hitmaker on stage every show, while Asia’s Phoenix Morissette enchants with her voice from March 21 to 22 and March 24 to 26 at the 8PM shows.

He will first visit the Queen City of the South – Cebu this March 25, 2023, at the SMX Sky Hall Seaside Cebu. This will mark the first time that the jazz icon has performed in Cebu City. Promising to bring Kenny’s signature brand of jazz to the live stage, Cebuanos can expect a performance of songs that capture the ‘heart and soul’ of those beloved Jazz Standards.

Filipino alt-rock icon Barbie Almalbis celebrates her 25th year in the music industry with a concert chronicling her career as an artist who helped build Pinoy rock into what it is today: borderless and constantly evolving, shattering the assumption that the movement is “a Man’s Man’s World.”
Aptly titledFirewoman: 25 Years of Barbie Almalbis, the show will reunite two of her supergroups, Hungry Young Poets and Barbie’s Cradle for a special moment filled with vigor, nostalgia, and appreciation. Almalbis will be performing some of the biggest and most notable hits of her career in three separate sets: as a frontwoman of the aforementioned bands, and as a solo artist who managed to make a name for herself.
“While this is truly a dream for me, it was GNN Entertainment Productions who first believed it could happen and conceptualized the show,” the Tabing Ilog hitmaker reveals. “We reached out Ricci Gurango, Franklin Benitez, Rommel de la Cruz, Wendell Garcia, and Kakoy Legaspi, and we’re delighted that they were all excited to do it too. Ricci, who now lives in the US, is coming home to the Philippines for the show.”
Firewoman: 25 Years of Barbie Almalbis was conceived last year to honor the award-winning singer-songwriter’s contribution to OPM, and to celebrate her staying power with anthems that proved to be impactful to listeners of all ages.
“I’m just so excited to play alongside some of my old friends, who also happen to be some my favorite musicians,” Almalbis shares in an official press statement. “We have so many great memories, making music, touring, and growing up together. They’ve taught me so much over the years. I’m just so grateful for this opportunity to jam with all of them on the show. I’m also looking forward to sharing the stage with many other artists I admire.”
The event is set to take place at 123 Block in Mandala Park on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 2 p.m. onwards. It will also feature performances by some of the country’s finest acts, including Sandwich, Gab Alipe of Urbandub, Clara Benin, I Belong To The Zoo, Kai del Rio, and Bird.
Almalbis also attributes her success as a musician, a woman, and a person of influence to her team’s dedication and hard work.
She adds, “I’m so grateful to be still playing, making music, and enjoying it a lot. It helps that I’m not doing it alone: my husband, who also loves music, helps me, especially during times when I find it hard to write. He’s a constant sounding board for ideas. Our daughter Stina has been joining in a lot lately too. I’m also so grateful for an excellent team: our manager Tommy, our road manager Morris, and the band: Karel, Nikko, and Jonard. And of course, the one who holds the whole thing together. So much of my career was something I didn’t plan, so I always do my best to look to God and follow where he takes me. In 2022, B.I made his highly-awaited comeback to the Philippine concert stage with back-to-back B.I 1ST FAN MEETING [B.I OFFLINE] IN MANILA at the New Frontier Theater. The fan meetings that marked the final stop of his first fan meeting tour saw a full-house venue for both shows.
Following the end of his fan meeting tour, the singer-songwriter released his first extended play, Love or Loved Part.1 on November 18, 2022. Aside from headlining the concert, the six-piece act is also set to perform a long set, featuring some of their most notable songs, as well as new ones in their repertoire.
They’re also dishing some rearranged numbers with guest sessionists to further elevate the attendees’ concert-going experience.
“It’s been over two years since we’ve all been in the same room together,” the indie folk outfit shares in a statement. “Life has taken each of us in all sorts of different directions. After countless Zoom meetings and remote collaboration, we are so excited to finally have the chance to create and perform live together once again.”
The reunion show is also the band’s way of expressing gratitude to their fans, who have continued to support and inspire them through their journey as musicians. Sharing the stage are some of their peers and contemporaries in the music industry, including Cheats, syd hartha, and Gabba. “We’ll only be complete for about a month, so we want to make the most of it,” the Traces act explains. “We’ll be squeezing in as much time as we can jam and experiment with new material while we practice and prepare for our reunion show on February 4th. Their second studio album, In Search of Solid Ground, and third studio album, Along The Shadow, followed the success of their previous album and singles. Aside from sold-out albums, SAOSIN’s career soared as they went on consecutive tours from the US going all the way to Europe, Asia, and Australia. It was indeed a triumphant story since they are a band that started as front liners of other bands and then, they get to travel around the globe as they headline huge music festivals and do their solo shows.

Before the year 2022 comes to a close, the South Korean boy band TREASURE shared the great news with Treasure Makers, making 2023 a year to look forward to. The boy group revealed Asia stops for their 2023 TREASURE TOUR – HELLO via their agency, YG Entertainment.
Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Jaehyuk, Asahi, Doyoung, Haruto, Jeongwoo, and Junghwan will perform in seven cities in the region starting in March 2023. The boys will kick off the Asia tour in Taipei on March 4. They will then follow it up with concerts in Kuala Lumpur on March 11, Jakarta on March 18 and 19, Bangkok on April 1, Singapore on April 8, Manila on April 15, and Macau on April 22.
The Manila concert on April 15 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena will mark the first solo concert of TREASURE in the Philippines and their comeback after a little less than a year to the local concert stage following a joint concert in June 2022.

The Rose will perform once again in front of their Filipino fans, bringing in new music and new stories to the Philippine concert stage in HEAL TOGETHER World Tour in Manila on January 14, 2023, at the Skydome, SM City North EDSA.
A full-house crowd will welcome Woosung, Dojoon, Hajoon, and Jaehyung back as tickets to the upcoming concert have officially been sold out. Tickets went on sale last December 4 via SM Tickets. Topics related to The Rose and the concert quickly rose to the top trends on Twitter, showcasing the undeniable popularity of the band in the country.
Tickets to the concert were priced at:
VIP – Php 9,500
CAT 2 – Php 6,000
CAT 3 – Php 3,500
Prices of the tickets were exclusive of ticketing charges.
In addition, tickets are exclusive of fan benefits. VIP ticket holders will enjoy an exclusive VIP pass with a lanyard, an exclusive poster, a group photo opportunity, and a goodbye session. Meanwhile, CAT 2 ticket holders will also take part in a goodbye session. 150 VIP and 50 ticket holders also get a chance to bring home a signed poster, chosen via a lucky draw.
