It is this same foundation and formula that influenced and helped catapult The Big Four of thrash – Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer – into the global superstars they are now: all through a grassroots/D.I.Y. sensibilities like worldwide tape-trading (way before there was the internet…), incendiary live shows that many considered to be almost-religious experiences, and a worldwide sense of community, even with the absence of radio airplay and airtime on MTV.

Hailing from Weybridge, Surrey in England, the five-piece band was officially formed in 2004 and had their first taste of success via their debut album Take Off Your Colours, as critics dubbed the band to be “the UK’s answer to Fallout Boy,” and other media predicting that the band would reach the same heights as American influences and counterparts like Newfound Glory and Panic At The Disco. And the group exceeded most predictions and expectations in the subsequent decade not only with chart-topping singles but with an explosive live performance and touring ethic. The band has since released seven full-length studio albums and numerous singles, including their recent 2023 release Truth Decay this 2023, which includes powerhouse anthems like “God Bless The 90s Kids,” “Deep Cuts,” Mixed Emotions” and “heartLESS.”

INTERNATIONAL POP-PUNK GIANTS MAYDAY PARADE FULFILL THEIR PROMISE TO RETURN TO CEBU THIS 2023!

Aside from the natural beauty of the land and its people, Cebu has always been regarded as one of the top destinations for good music and great musicians and artists… but it would be too long of a list to enumerate all the great songs and bands that have come from there, so we’ll cut to the chase and give you the awesome news straight up: MAYDAY PARADE will be returning to Queen City of the South!

That’s right: this October 28th, 2023, Cebuanos are in for the ultimate treat as the pop-punk/emo giants are scheduled to perform all of their greatest hits at the Sky Hall Seaside Cebu – and it’s definitely one of the most-anticipated events that will take place this year, especially since it was none other than singer Derek Sanders who promised Cebuanos that they would return after their first successful show in 2019.

Formed in 2005 in Tallahassee, Florida, Mayday Parade always had the knack for combining catchy melodies, heartfelt lyricism, and humongous and anthemic choruses. Their 2006 debut EP Tales Told by Dead Friends sold over 50,000 copies on its own, without any label or outside support. With seven full-length albums under their belt to date, the group set itself apart from its contemporaries with its non-stop touring and furious live performances that were both fiery and downright impressive.

The upcoming show in Cebu will be their sixth visit to the country.

They have consistently demonstrated their escalating popularity with a number of fan favorites, including “Atin Ang Mundo,” “Istorya,” and their biggest hit, “Hindi Tayo Pwede.”

Adie

Adie Garcia is a Filipino singer, model, and social media influencer. His viral YouTube performances of well-known songs helped him gain popularity with the general public. Through his relatable music and soothing voice, the singer became a staple on the music playlists of every Filipino. Adie was chosen as the Best Male Artist at the New Hue Music Awards.

MRLD

MRLD is a singer and songwriter from the Philippines. She debuted with “An Art Gallery Could Never Be As Unique As You” in 2021. “An Art Gallery Could Never Be As Unique As You,” her hit song, has risen to the top 150 on Indonesian Spotify. The song received an average of more than 100K streams per day, placing it 139th on the Top Songs Indonesia chart of the music streaming service. She was featured on a Spotify billboard ad on Women at Times Square in May 2022.

Sunkissed Lola

From Olongapo City, Sunkissed Lola is a rising musical group. On November 21, 2022, their most recent single “Pasilyo” entered at No. 1 on the “PH Viral 50 Chart” of the digital music service and remained there for eight days. It has approximately 22 million listens on Spotify. And it has been back at the top spot since January 20 till the present. On February 7, it also peaked at No. 1 on the “Daily Top Songs PH Chart” of Spotify.

Dionela

Dionela is a young, gifted singer-songwriter whose single “Musika” has rocked the music industry. The song went viral on TikTok at the beginning of this year, entrancing listeners with its catchy melody and Dionela’s beautiful vocals.

He is undoubtedly one of the fastest-rising artists to watch out for because of his incredible talent at such a young age! This year, his song “Musika” went viral on Tiktok.

Twenty years have passed since Sarah Geronimo made her debut in show business, and on Friday, May 12, the pop superstar will celebrate with an anniversary concert at Araneta Coliseum. It will be directed by veteran concert director Paolo Valenciano and Sarah herself.

Billed as Sarah Geronimo, this is the 15^th live concert to be staged by the multi-awarded pop icon who has built a stellar career in TV, film, and music over the past two decades.  The event is being co-produced by Viva Live, G Productions, and MQuest Ventures.

After visiting the Philippines a few months ago for a free mall show in Taguig City, Australian pop artist Ruel will be staging his first major concert in Manila on May 26, 2023 (Friday), at the Samsung Hall, from 8:00 PM onwards.

The promising newcomer is slated to perform in several Asian cities, including Manila, for his 4TH Wall World Tour.

A one-night-only concert experience with Baekhyun, Jeon Somi, and B.I is set to unfold this June in OVERPASS 2023!

CS Concerts and OctoArts Entertainment’s OVERPASS: K-Pop Music Concert will bring together EXO’s Baekhyun, Jeon Somi, and B.I at the Araneta Coliseum on June 11, 2023.

OVERPASS is a platform that brings together R&B, soul, and hip-hop artists of Asian descent from different sides of the globe. The concert is an entry to a global music gathering that celebrates Asian excellence in music. The OVERPASS 2023 will highlight Korean pop music and will feature top K-Pop acts EXO’s Baekhyun, Jeon Somi, and B.I..

Baekhyun will make his first appearance on a Philippine concert stage as a solo artist and the first in four years since the EXO PLANET #5 – EXplOration concert in 2019 during the event. Additionally, the concert will see B.I. make his second visit to the country this year after his solo concert in January. Meanwhile, It will also be Jeon Somi’s first performance in the country since she made her solo debut.

ACT: SWEET MIRAGE is TXT’s second world tour which kicked off with a two-day concert in Seoul in March 2023. The concert tour will see Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and HueningKai perform more than 20 concerts in Asia and the United States. With the forthcoming ACT: SWEET MIRAGE concert in the country, they will be the second K-Pop boy group after SEVENTEEN and the eighth music artist following Katy Perry, Guns N’ Roses, U2, SEVENTEEN, Harry Styles, BLACKPINK, and Bruno Mars to hold a solo concert at the Philippine Arena.

Last year, the boy group successfully concluded their highly-awaited first world tour, ACT: LOVESICK, with 19 shows in 13 cities with a final show in the Philippines in October last year.

Since their debut, TXT has been unstoppable in their ascension to the top, becoming one of the most successful K-Pop groups of their generation. Aside from embarking on a bigger tour this year, Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and HueningKai made history as the first K-Pop group to headline Lollapalooza.

Earlier this year, the boy group came out with their fifth Korean-language extended play, The Name Chapter: Temptation. The five-track album, led by “Sugar Rush Ride”, debuted at the top of the US Billboard 200 chart and took the number one spot on the Circle Album chart for January 2023.

TXT reached the two million album sales milestone with the EP in less than six days, making them the second-fastest artist in Hanteo history to accomplish so. Having made their debut in March 2019, they are also the first artist to achieve the feat after less than four years in the music industry. They are also the first group to simultaneously chart every song from a single mini album in the top 10 of Melon’s Top 100, where “Sugar Rush Ride” achieved an amazing peak position of number two.
