Uranus 2324 is a romantic sci-fi movie starring the prominent Thai actresses Freen Sarocha and Rebecca Patricia “Becky” Armstrong. Kath (Becky) is a freediver who comes home to Thailand after living in the United States. Lin (Freen) is a world-famous astronaut aboard the Uratis Space Station. The two were lovers in their younger days but were eventually separated due to their personal circumstances. In a freediving competition, Kath encounters a life-threatening situation underwater wherein she discovers that she can cross time and space. She then pursues Lin in different timelines and universes so they can reconnect with each other.
Presented by CDM Entertainment, Philippine Concerts had the privilege of watching the exclusive early premiere of the movie at the SM North Skydome on July 7, only a day after it premiered in Thailand. FreenBecky fans were lively as usual, queuing hours in advance, dressed in their customized ship shirts and waving their banners. Ticket holders were also given exclusive merchandise including a photobook, bracelet, holographic photocards, poster, and a commemorative ticket.

One central point of the story is Lin’s experience at the Uratis Space Station, and the movie gives justice to this vision. According to an interview with the director, the budget for the movie amounted to 2 million dollars. With that much, the production did its best to capture the wonders and the feel of outer space. Except for that, the movie also featured the breathtaking sceneries of rural Thailand with its lush yet rustic landscapes.

Since then, they’ve snagged a hefty number of brand advertisement deals from prominent local and global brands. Now, they’re starring in a romantic sci-fi movie which is set to be shown in different parts of the world.

Japanese alternative rock band Hitsujibungaku made their Philippine concert debut at the Eastside Events Place on July 6.
Composed of vocalist and guitarist Moeka Shiotsuka and bassist Yurika Kasai, assisted by drummer Yuna from the band Chai, Hitsujibungaku played an 18-song setlist of their most recent hits. (Their original drummer Hiroa Fukuda has been on a hiatus since May.) Presented by The Rest is Noise and Gabi Na Naman Productions, the show marked the band’s first stop in Manila for their first-ever Asia Tour, drawing in a good number of J-rock and anime fans as well as music enthusiasts.
Hitsujibungaku, which translates to “sheep literature”, started in 2011 when the members were still in high school. In their early days, they played covers of bands like Chatmonchy and Sambomaster. It was not until 2017 that they started releasing official EPs. They gained local acclaim by releasing their songs “1999” and “Ningen Datta” in 2019. Recently, their name started making waves globally when their song “More than Words” was featured in the Shibuya Incident Arc of the wildly popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen.
Starting with a short instrumental snippet from “Yokan” followed by “Addiction”, the trio played each track. Their setlist was predominantly composed of their songs from two of their most recent albums. From their latest album 12 hugs like butterflies, we also heard “honestly”, “GO!!!”, “Shinkokyu” and “FOOL”. From their 2022 album our hope, they played “Lucky”, “hopi”, “OOPARTS” and “Mayoiga” which were among the crowd’s favorites that evening.
The Filipino crowd also got to be one of the first crowds to hear the gritty, angsty riffs of “Burning” performed live as it was only released 3 days before the concert as the closing theme of the anime series Oshi No Ko. Of course, a high point of the show was when they played “More than Words” back-to-back with another stand-out track “Hikaru Toki” which had everyone dancing and singing along.
The audience also sang “Happy Birthday” to Moeka who celebrated her birthday on July 3. “I’m having a lot of fun. Thank you for the warm welcome,” Moeka said in Japanese near the end of the concert. She did, however, come with a curious arsenal of Filipino phrases. From the typical “Kamusta kayo?”, “Mahal ko kayo” and “salamat”, she also said “Gusto ko ng San Mig at Red Horse” and “Masarap ang pancit”, much to the delight of the crowd. Small update: She shared a can of Red Horse with a band member post-gig, as posted in a photo in her Instagram story.
Seeing Hitsujibungaku live in Manila, in a rather intimate venue, was a great way to spend a Saturday evening. It was a rare opportunity as well since not a lot of Japanese artists stopped by the Philippines for their world tours. As someone who knew them from their song in Jujutsu Kaisen, I found their music to be a treasure trove of alt-rock tunes that I could keep going back to in my regular playlists. Hoping for more Japanese acts in Manila soon!

Actress-singer Belle Mariano is back with a new extended play (EP) “BELIEVE,” a collection of inspiring tracks about accepting one’s fate, overcoming pain, and making big dreams and an exciting prelude to her sold-out concert of the same name happening this July.
The mini-album has five songs including “Biglaan,” ‘Pakisagot,” “Little World Changer,” “I, Save, Me,” and “Apelyido,” all produced by StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos.
Belle is set to perform these tracks in “BELIEVE: The Belle Mariano Birthday Concert” happening on July 13 (Saturday), 8 pm at The Theatre at Solaire produced by ABS-CBN Events and StarPop. Joining Belle as her special guests are Donny Pangilinan, Moira dela Torre, Denise Julia, and Martin Nievera.
The Kapamilya star couldn’t contain her astonishment at doing a concert as big as this at this time in her life. “Hindi ko siya na-visualize. It was too grand for me,” Belle said in disbelief.
“I used to sing in the videoke with my lolo and it feels like I’m not just fulfilling my dream, I’m also fulfilling his,” she added.
Preparing for the musical event however has made her have more faith in her capability as a performer. She said, “The process of the concert made me believe in myself. This marks a growth of who I am in the industry.”
She is also introducing a more mature sound and storytelling in her latest music offering.
“Biglaan,” which speaks of destiny finding its way to bring something more than what is expected, serves as the “BELIEVE” EP’s focus track. Another empowering track, “Little World Changer,” is a dreamy ode to a young person’s big aspirations.
“Pakisagot” is about a girl weeping in prayer and demanding answers on why terrible things happen to good people, “I, Save, Me” is about processing heartache and false hope, and “Apelyido” is about that special moment when one finally finds the right person.
As a music artist, Belle opened up about how she wants to be remembered whenever music listeners hear her songs.
“I want to make the listeners, the audience, believe in themselves,” she said.
“BELIEVE” EP follows the New Gen Phenomenal Actress’ previously released albums “Daylight” and “Somber and Solemn.” Among her hit songs are “Sigurado,” “Kahit Na, Kahit Pa,” “Tanging Dahilan,” and “Bugambilya.”
This year, she received the Listener’s Choice award in Billboard Philippines’ Women in Music and was named Spotify’s Lullaby Artist Awardee.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – July 10, 2024 – On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, Netflix Philippines ramped up promotions for PULANG ARAW, the country’s biggest historical series of 2024, with a star-studded event at The Peninsula Manila Hotel attended by celebrities, press, content creators, and VIPs. Lead stars Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, David Licauco, and Alden Richards seized the spotlight to celebrate the occasion, accompanied by the supporting cast who also graced the red carpet.

Donned in their 1940s garb from the show, the main cast gave the guests a preview of what to expect in PULANG ARAW and their characters. Speaking to the audience, Alden, who plays Eduardo dela Cruz, shares that the project has been a long-awaited endeavor for him and the production team, “Nabanggit na po ito sa akin ng aking boss na si Ms. Annette (GMA Executive Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, President of GMA Films and GMA Worldwide) sampung taon na ang nakakalipas.” (“This was mentioned to me by my boss, Ms. Annette, ten years ago.”) He also emphasized how profound the impact of the story is in showcasing the experiences and reality during that sensitive period, which he feels many from this generation are unaware of, “I think this is the most relevant and most important story of 2024.”

Barbie, playing the character of bubbly Adelina dela Cruz, appreciates that they were able to spotlight vaudeville in Pulang Araw, taking it as the perfect metaphor for finding joy in the midst of difficulties. “Kahit sa buhay, kahit na anong kinakaharap mong problema at paghihirap, lahat ‘yun ay kakalimutan mo, kasi the show must go on,” (“Even in life, no matter what hardships you face, you’d forget them all, because the show must go on.”)

Sanya feels that the narrative was shaped by the experiences of Filipinos who went through that hardship during World War II, “Ito ay pagbabalik tanaw. (…) Itong kwento ay hindi para ibalik sa kanila ‘yung sakit, kundi ipalinaw sa bagong henerasyon kung sino ‘yung mga dapat bigyan natin ng respeto at kung bakit tayo dapat magpasalamat sa kalayaang merong tayo ngayon.” (“This is a look back. This story doesn’t aim to rekindle the pain, but to remind the new generations of those to whom we owe the gratitude for the freedom we enjoy today.”) This sentiment was shared by Alden, “‘yun ‘yung isa sa mga pinanghahawakan ko din. Magbalik tanaw sa kung sino ba ang tumulong sa’ting makamit ‘yun. (“It’s one of the things I treasure most in this series: looking back on the people who contributed to that freedom.”)While doing it (the show), it makes me more proud to be a Filipino.”
Because of how heavy the subject is, Alden shared that he struggled to detach himself from the more heavy scenes, especially since he views it as a way of honoring the people who fought and survived for the country’s freedom, “I consider this project as my most important project. It’s a legacy that we’ll be telling—the untold legacy of Filipinos during World War II.” The sentiment was echoed by Barbie, “Ngayon ko lang naranasan ‘yung ganto sa show; nadadala mo talaga siya pagkatapos, so kelangan mo talaga ng few minutes to really shake it off eh, kasi pabigat talaga ng pabigat ‘yung mga nangyayari.” (“This is the first time I’ve experienced something like this; you carry it with you even after filming wraps, so you need a few minutes to really shake it off because of how heavy the scenes are.”) What helped, according to her, is how detailed their scripts are and how they allowed her to stay in character, understand Adelina’s depth, and grasp that period better.

For David, who plays a Japanese character named Hiroshi Tanaka, his character’s internal conflict is one of the most interesting things about him, “It’s a battle of the brain and battle of the heart. And pinaka-conflict niya is kung pipiliin niya ba ‘yung bayan niya o ‘yung minamahal niya, which is Adelina.” (“His biggest conflict is choosing between his country or his loved one, which is Adelina.”)
Sanya believes her character Teresita is the “embodiment of courage and survival”. “Para sa akin ‘yun ‘yung katangian ng isang magiting na babae, na hindi lang noong panahon ng mga Hapon o ng digmaan, kundi sa panahon ngayon ng mga makabagong Teresita. Na patuloy lumalaban sa mga pagsubok, sa mga panga-abuso, sa pangmamaliit. Na lumalaban para sa kanilang karapatan,” (“For me, that’s the main characteristic of a brave woman, not only during that period, but even today, a time of modern-day Teresitas. They continue to fight the challenges, the abuse, and the oppression. They fight for their rights,”) She also shared her privileged experience of conversing with actual comfort women as part of the preparation for the role, which added a profound layer to her portrayal.

Fresh from the success of another historical series which cemented their love team, Barbie and David, more popularly known as BarDa, talked about their experiences working together again in Pulang Araw. For David, one particular scene made him realize how different Barbie is in this show, “‘yung iksena na nag-I love you ako kay Barbie, dun ako may nakitang kakaiba. Napakagaling ni Barbie Forteza bilang aktres.” (“The scene where I told Barbie I love her, I saw something different there. Barbie Forteza is a brilliant actress.”). On the other hand, Barbie not only commended him for his Japanese-speaking skills but also applauded David for the growth in his passion for acting, “Natutunan niyang mahalin ‘yung craft. (…) Ibang David Licauco po talaga ang mapapanood natin dito, and I’m just very proud of him.” (“He learned to love the craft. (…) We’ll get to see a different David Licauco here, and I’m just very proud of him.”)

With vaudeville being a crucial element of the show, especially for the lead actresses, both Barbie and Sanya detailed their most unforgettable filming moments for these scenes, “Tap dance classes, bago pa man magsimula ang taping. Ang saya ng experience kasi sobrang lapit sa puso ko si Sanya.” (“Tap dance classes, even before we started filming. The experience was fun because Sanya is someone I hold close to my heart.”) Sanya was equally enthused with the experience, cherishing the moments she spent training with Barbie, “Kumakanta habang nagta-tap dance—umaarte habang nagta-tap dance. (…) Masarap sa feeling na meron kaming bagong natutunan para sa palabas na ito.” (“Singing while tap dancing—acting while tap dancing. (…) It’s a great experience to learn something new for this show.”)
Alden traces Eduardo’s transformation into an indomitable man to his primary motivation—love. The love for his dreams, his family, the person he wants to pursue, and for friendship. “Lahat tayo ay may ganon eh; lahat tayo may gustong ipaglaban sa buhay at gagawin natin ang lahat para makamtan ‘yun.” (“All of us have something like that; all of us have something we want to fight for and we’ll do everything that we can to achieve it.”)
To conclude the press conference, the supporting cast composed of Sef Cadeyona, Aidan Veneracion, Neil Ryan Sese, Jay Arcilla, Ashley Ortega, Mikoy Morales, Rochelle Pangilinan-Solinap, Angelu de Leon, and Epy Quizon headed to the stage to introduce their characters and hint at their relationships with the main cast, teasing viewers with their intriguing connections.
The day ended with a screening of the pilot episode, followed by a teaser that revealed what viewers can expect in the upcoming episodes.

The Running Man cast met Filipino runners at the “RUN 2 U” IN MANILA fan meeting, keeping their word to return to the Philippines!
At the SM Mall of Asia Arena on July 6, 2024, Jee Seok Jin, Yu Jae Seok, Kim Jong Kook, HAHA, Song Ji Hyo, and Yang Se Chan returned to the Philippines to meet up with Filipino Runners, who greeted them warmly and joyfully once more. The members of Running Man, the longest-running entertainment program in South Korea, returned their hospitality by expressing their gratitude and admiration for their Filipino fans.
The Running Man Philippines ensemble, which includes Mikael Daez, Kokoy Do Santos, Angel Guardian, Glaiza De Castro, Buboy Villar, Lexi Gonzales, and Miguel Tanfelix, kicked off the fan gathering with a variety of performances that electrified the audience.
The show, which is currently in its second season, excitedly revealed HAHA from its most recent episode during the fan meeting.
Moving on to the main event, the lights went down and, in a scene reminiscent of the previous year’s, the venue erupted into wild applause. As Yu Jae Suk entered the stage to the sound of BTS’s “Spring Day,” the applause intensified. The Nation’s MC of South Korea constantly bowed and waved to everyone with humility and thanks. The other members, HAHA, Yang Se Chan, Song Ji Hyo, Jee Seok Jin, and Kim Jong Kook, came out on stage one by one to carry on the serenade.
As they continued to show their fans how much they were valued, their humility and gratitude reverberated loudly. Throughout the event, “Salamat po” was said often, accompanied by kind glances and beaming smiles for the fans, who returned the favor with applause and enthusiastic waves.

The hosts for the evening, Ryan Bang and Kring Kim, who also hosted RUNNING MAN: A DECADE OF LAUGHTER 2023 IN MANILA, opened the fan meeting with an official welcome and allowed the cast to greet their Runners personally using the Filipino phrases “salamat po” and “mahal kita.” Cheers, that rang out loud and proudly across the audience, demonstrated the typical Filipino concert/event crowd flair of making sure their favorite stars knew how thrilled they were.
The fan meeting also provided an opportunity for Filipino fans to witness the cast’s chaotic interactions during their interview segments and games. The members’ strong relationship, which has grown over the years of their many years together, was joyful to see. Running Man, which debuted on July 11, 2010, will celebrate its 14th anniversary in July of this year. Filipino runners gave the group a cake and a banner project as a means to celebrate this achievement and pledged their unwavering support for Running Man.

The Running Man ensemble’s performances ensured that the excitement never faded. Song Ji Hyo kicked off the performances with “Bam Yang Gang” by BIBI. After that, Jee Seok Jin gave a solo stage performance of “All of Me” by John Legend. Yang Se Chan wowed the crowd with his rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody” while rocking a full Freddie Mercury cosplay. HAHA proceeded next, inviting SRG to join him on stage for their collaboration, “Ice Bottle,” featuring U-KWON.
Kim Jong Kook sang his hits “One Man” and “Spring Has Come” to a delighted crowd in Manila. Yoo San Seul, Yoo Jae Suk’s trot singer alter ego, made a special appearance at the fan meeting and sang “Redevelopment of Love.”
In addition to performing individually, the Running Man cast collaborated to present their unit performances on the Philippine concert stage. “Kalla” and “DANG DIGGI BANG” by Yang Se Chan and HAHA fuelled the excitement even further. “We Need to Talk” by SpartAce Couple, Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook, set the mood for kilig.
Returning to the stage with “Beach Again,” Song Ji Hyo, HAHA, and Jee Seok Jin were followed by Yu Jae Suk, HAHA, Song Ji Hyo, and Yang Se Chan, who took the spotlight with “Y.”
The members then took a moment to give Filipino Runners their sincere messages, expressing how happy they were to have met them and making a vow to come back again. Before bidding their final goodbyes, the members sang Running Man’s theme song “I Like It”, their new song, DAY6’s “Time of Our Life”, Kim Jong Kook’s “Loveable”, and RGP’s “Busan Vacance”.

After collaborating with indie-folk band Munimuni on “Tupa” and co-headlining the Mist Music Festival in Canada, Barbie Almalbis gears up for a new era in music with the release of her new song “Desperate Hours.”
Produced by La Ball’s resident arranger and studio whiz Nick Lazaro, who has done exemplary work for artists such as Clara Benin and BP Valenzuela, “Desperate Hours” serves as the first official single off Barbie’s upcoming fifth studio album, to be released at the end of the year.
Coming across as an innovative tour de force in the mold of Bjork, Melanie Martinez, and St. Vincent, Almalbis’ avant-pop track refuses any easy categorization but unravels quite literally and figuratively as her most experimental work to date. Here, the two unlikely collaborators play around with unconventional guitar riffs, loose structures, and oddly charming noises, while showcasing an uncompromising vision that’s far from anything that Almalbis has released so far. It sounds like pop music in the strictest sense of the word, but not the type that is bound by rules and limitations.
“I’ve dreamt of doing something like this for years but didn’t have the knowledge and courage, so meeting Nick has been a godsend because producing this way is something that seems to come so easily for him,” said the alternative rock icon. “It’s also a lot of work. He made me sing hard, do crow sounds, explosions, portamentos, and ‘witchy’ voices, and though it felt a little weird at times, I think it actually sounds good in context.”
Apart from the sonic bombast and unthinkable surprises, Almalbis’ poetic songwriting shines even more on “Desperate Hours,” where she penned material in a time of deep pain and longing. According to the Dahilan act, the song was written during a very challenging point in her life, when she was going through anxiety and emotional struggles while having a hard time figuring out where it was coming from.
“I couldn’t understand much about what I was going through, but I knew I needed to lean on God, and also sought the help of ‘last resort’ friends—like a last hope, “break-glass-in-case-of-emergency” kind of friends,” Almalbis reveals. “One day, things were beginning to get better, and I had a bit of clarity. I woke up early and wrote the pre-chorus: I can feel the rescuer…finally, the war is over. It was more a song of faith, and soon enough, this struggle will indeed be over. Then it happened that later that morning, I was doing some reading and came across Psalm 18. I was surprised to find that it was about the same topic and even used similar metaphors. It made me feel like I was on the right track, and so the psalm became a guide to finishing the rest of the song.”
Kate Bush and Bjork easily come to mind when listeners hear “Desperate Hours” for the first time, but there’s so much more to its quirks than meets the eye.
“I’m almost always not trying to achieve anything,” Almalbis shares. “I’m not a planner. I really just try to follow my curiosity as an artist and express how I feel at the moment. I think Bjork and Kate Bush are very emotional writers, and I surely have listened to them a bunch over the years, so their musical ideas are floating around in my brain. To be doing music that’s kind of similar to them makes me feel like I’m going in the right direction as an artist.”

“Ano ba talagang mas gusto ko? Ang beer na ‘to o ang pag-ibig mo?” In this case, The Itchyworms can tell you that you can have both.
The Itchyworms will be holding a grand launch of their craft beer on July 13 at the 123 Block, Mandaluyong. The event will also feature live performances by Ebe Dancel, Ciudad, Blaster, The Revisors, and of course, the band themselves.
On June 21, Jugs Jugueta, Jazz Nicolas, Kelvin Yu, and Mikey Amistoso held a press conference over charcuterie, beer, some wine, and lots of laughter. They spoke about the process of creating their craft beer, their plans, and how they kept the band going after all these years.
Beer and/or Pag-Ibig
Staying true to their well-loved hit, The Itchyworms created two beer flavors: BEER and PAG-IBIG. Blonde ale BEER has a bold, fruity taste while Hazy IPA PAG-IBIG has a more floral, bitter taste (yes, exactly like love). PAG-IBIG will also get you drunk sooner with its 6.5% alcohol content compared to BEER’s 5%.
You can enjoy each flavor depending on your preference, but here’s an additional tip from The Itchyworms: Mix them for a unique flavor. They specifically sell the beer in packs of six so people can taste both flavors.
The origin story
It was 2006 when “Beer” became a mainstream hit across the Philippines. When Jazz composed the song, one thing he considered was his father’s advice: “Gumawa ka ng kanta na kahit ‘yung tambay sa kanto masasabayan.” The band’s first album Little Monsters Under Your Bed in 2001, being primarily filled with English songs, did not get as much acclaim as they wanted. He thought that drinking beer was something that the usual tambay could relate to, and the same goes for lots of people. Jazz was not exactly a beer aficionado, but he knew one of the main reasons people drink: love (and its woes). The idea started and grew from there.
Fast forward to 2024: The band was ultimately inspired when they attended a wedding wherein the couple gave cans of beer with customized packaging and flavor. They figured they could also do the same so they contacted Flatfoot Brewing Co., the company that made the beer, and proceeded with making their idea a reality.
Besides, The Itchyworms wanted to do something different than just releasing regular merch like shirts, caps, keychains, etc. In the OPM scene, a few bands have made songs dedicated to beer like Parokya ni Edgar with “Inuman Na” and Teeth with “Laklak”, but none of them has released their own beer yet. They wanted to be the first to do it.

The artwork on the beer labels was created by Aidon Panlaqui, a longtime collaborator and friend of the band. In line with The Itchyworms’ wacky side, BEER featured a Bruce Lee replica holding a keg of beer while kicking Cupid. PAG-IBIG, meanwhile, had the opposite – Cupid was the one doing the damage.

Will the beer be a limited-edition thing? Will it be sold at groceries and stores nationwide? The Itchyworms’ beer, sold as a six-pack, is currently available in their official online shop. For now, they made 500 cans of each variant “to meet the MOQ (minimum order quantity)”, Kevin said. To pile on the fun, Jugs added that “if they sign the beer package, people could sell it at a higher price on eBay as it is a limited edition item.”
On a more serious note, The Itchyworms’ beer is currently going places. The band has already done trial runs during their gigs at ‘70s Bistro and Saguijo wherein they received favorable reviews. On top of that, Chef Charles Montañez, the brain behind Alegria Manila, reached out to Jugs to express his interest in including The Itchyworms’ craft beer in his next Degustation menu.
Future Plans
Making musicals based on an OPM band’s discography is one of the recurring trends lately (i.e. Parokya’s “Buruguduystunstugudunstuy” and the Eraserheads’ “Ang Huling El Bimbo”. Will The Itchyworms follow the same route? The band replied that there were offers on the table, but none had materialized yet.
They are also set to perform abroad, including Qatar in July and a Canada Tour in November wherein Chino Singson will be joining them. (Chino is the lead guitarist of the band. He migrated to Canada in August 2022, but he remains to be a member of the band.) They are set to release a song titled “Bakit Di Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?” soon.
An upcoming collaboration with Jungee Marcelo is also in the works.
Words of Wisdom
The Itchyworms have been in the industry for more than 20 years, and they have managed to stay together. What is their advice to the young, aspiring musicians?
“Wag na silang tumuloy para mabawasan kalaban namin,” Kevin jabbed.
Jazz gave a heartfelt answer, “Always strive to stand out. Do something that no one else is doing.” Jazz is also mentoring younger talents. His son is part of The Revisors, one of the bands that will be playing during the grand launch.
Jugs shared some advice that Ogie Alcasid told him once. “Think of it like a marathon instead of a sprint,” he said. “Kasi, di naman kami yung best pero kami yung laging andon.” He explained that their consistency in making music together helped in the success of the band.
Kevin added, “ ‘Yung pagbabanda, goes beyond the 40 minutes to the 1 hour that you’re on stage. Kung di mo kasundo yung mga kasama mo, mahirap. Kami, we didn’t start out as good friends but eventually, naging parang pamilya na rin turing namin sa isa’t isa.”
“Kami ni Jazz, best friends. Ewan ko lang sa’yo,” Jugs interrupted him as laughter filled the room.
Mikey also joined the conversation, “Testament din ako diyan kasi may rule sila nag pag may papalit kay Chino, kailangan matalik din nilang kaibigan. Di naman ako magaling pero kinuha pa rin nila ako.” He is also the frontman of Ciudad. He became part of The Itchyworms when Chino migrated to Canada.

Felip continues to develop his craft with his most recent album, 7sins.
Although it is not a religious pilgrimage, 7sins is a path of admitting one’s own shortcomings. Through openness and acceptance of hidden thoughts and emotions, as well as the embrace of one’s actual self, the album will lead you on a journey.
Felip releases 7sins the album on July 5, 2024. The album comprises nine songs, with “envy” as the title/focus track. With the album’s release on streaming platforms, the album will also be released on Felip’s YouTube channel. The other songs represent the other sins such as wrath, greed, and pride, and the album ends with a track called “ache,” which is about redemption and acknowledgment. 7sins is a genre-bending album with songs that show the different sides and stories of Felip.
Despite being busy with SB19 engagements, shoots, and projects, Felip persevered and took a hands-on approach to writing, creating, and producing his album. The album took 7 months of work to write, record, and mix, with late-night sessions with Luke April of PLAYERTWO and Isagani Palabyab.
The album also features collaborations with artists like Belgian-Filipino Cyra Gwynth, whom Felip looks up to as an artist. He and his producer felt it was an interesting and good blend to create a song or two together. Cyra Gwynth wrote “greed”, an emotional song about loving the wrong person that will surely resonate with a lot of listeners, she also co-wrote and features in the song, “lust.” We also got another collaboration with fellow Warner Music Philippines artist, PLAYERTWO, for the song “gluttony,” who Felip had previously collaborated with for the songs “FLYYY” and “Pagdali.”
The album release will lead up to Felip’s solo concert, 7sins the Album Concert on July 27, 2024. The concert will be held at the Space at OneAyala and thousands of fans are expected to attend. As Felip took creative control of the 7sins narrative, the fans will see and feel a lot of his influence, style, and artistry in the album as well as during the concert.

The Japanese alt-rock trio will be performing this July 6, 2024 (Saturday), from 7 p.m. onwards at East Side Events Place in Marikina City, Philippines.
The headline show in Manila serves as the third stop of their four-city Asian tour. It was conceived as part of the band’s promotional efforts to promote their brand-new album, 12 hugs (like butterflies) to key market audiences outside Japan.
Hitsujibungaku: Live in Manila is presented by GNN Entertainment Productions and The Rest Is Noise PH. The two production outfits recently teamed up to bring Taiwan’s Elephant Gym last year.
Hitsujibungaku is composed by Moeka Shiotsuka (vocals, guitar, songwriting), Yurika Kasai (bass) and Hiroa Fukuda (drums).
