Curated by Spotify Philippines’ editorial team, these are the tracks that stood out for their songwriting, musicality, distinctiveness, and cultural impact — capturing not just what people are streaming, but what is defining the sound and spirit of OPM so far this year.
Drawing on deep expertise in music, culture and listening behavior, Spotify Philippines’ editorial team listens to hundreds of songs across all genres each week. For this list, they discussed, debated, and weighed each track to arrive at a selection that goes beyond the charts. Editors’ Picks puts human taste at the centre of music discovery.
“What we’re hearing in OPM right now are artists who sound like no one but themselves. The songwriting is sharper, the sound and production is more adventurous, and the influences are coming from everywhere. As editors, we’re immersed in the artists, communities, and conversations shaping Filipino music every day — and this list reflects it. We’re excited for listeners to discover these 50 songs, the music that continues to soundtrack lives everywhere.” said Chesca Tan, Lead Editor for Spotify Philippines.

Fresh from winning Best Dance Recording Artist of the Year at the 17th PMPC Star Awards for Music, P-pop group BILIB is ushering in its third anniversary with three major announcements that are sure to excite Bituin, the group’s ever-growing and ever-supportive fandom.
The six-member act has enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2026, reaching new milestones in their career. Their previous single, “Mahika,” topped Vibe’s Uprising Star Leaderboard, while the group shared the stage with some of the country’s biggest artists at Watsons Playlist at the SM Mall of Asia Arena and the Howlers Music Festival, made possible through the support of their brand partner, Creamloops.
As BILIB marks its third anniversary on July 7, the group is celebrating not just another year together, but also the unwavering support of the people who have stood by them since day one. Leading the celebration is “Under The Same Light,” BILIB’s most intimate and special solo show to date. The free anniversary event is exclusively dedicated to Bituin, creating a rare opportunity for the group and their fans to celebrate the milestone in one shared space. Fans can expect exclusive performances and never-before-seen numbers prepared especially for this once-a-year celebration.
Making the anniversary even more meaningful is the release of BILIB’s newest single, “Matsaluv,” available on all digital streaming platforms beginning July 7.
More than just a new song, “Matsaluv” is BILIB’s heartfelt love letter to Bituin. The track expresses the group’s deepest gratitude to the fans who have believed in them from the very beginning. Those who stayed through every challenge, celebrated every victory, and continued to shine alongside them as they pursued their dreams. Through its lyrics, BILIB hopes to remind every Bituin that every stream, every cheer, every vote, every message, and every moment of support has never gone unnoticed. Written by members Rafael and Zio, who also co-produced the track alongside resident producer EC Orduna, “Matsaluv” reflects the genuine bond that BILIB shares with its fandom. Accompanying the release is a music video filmed entirely in Bangkok, Thailand, during the vibrant Songkran Festival, capturing the joy, warmth, and celebration that mirror the spirit of the song.
Completing the trio of anniversary announcements is another major milestone beyond music as BILIB officially joins the Luxxe White family as its newest brand ambassadors.
The partnership marks the culmination of a relationship that has been years in the making. Long before the official endorsement, RS Francisco had already been one of the group’s earliest believers, supporting BILIB throughout different stages of their journey. That unwavering trust has now evolved into an official collaboration, symbolizing the shared growth of both the group and the brand and opening new opportunities for BILIB as they continue to expand their reach.
As they celebrate three years in the spotlight, BILIB looks ahead with renewed passion and purpose. With a special anniversary concert, new music dedicated to their fans, and a milestone brand partnership, the group proves that this is only the beginning of an even brighter chapter—one they will continue to share under the same light with Bituin.

Galantis, Porter Robinson, Subtronics, and Yellow Claw headlined the festival’s most ambitious edition yet, with over 60 artists across three stages.
&FRIENDS Festival, a Clouted experience co-presented by Collective Minds, wrapped its 2026 edition this past weekend at Okada Manila, with organizers estimating that over 12,000 fans attended across the two-day run on June 19–20.
Headlined by Galantis, Porter Robinson, Subtronics, and Yellow Claw, the 2026 edition marked the festival’s most ambitious to date, bringing together more than 60 artists across the Main Stage, Club Stage, and Friendship Stage. The Friendship Stage spotlighted label and collective takeovers from Orange Juice Asia, Planet Workshop, Contrast, RAW, and Sweet & Sour, with acts traveling in from Bangkok, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea, underscoring the festival’s continued commitment to platforming homegrown and regional talent alongside global headliners.
The two nights delivered standout sets across genres, from Subtronics’ bass-heavy mainstage takeover to Porter Robinson’s emotionally charged return to the Philippines, alongside high-energy performances from Adventure Club, ARMNHMR, Arcando, CHYL, and Bonnie X Clyde, among many others. Beyond the music, attendees moved through Okada Manila’s resort property throughout the weekend, in an experience organizers describe as setting a new benchmark for festival comfort in the region.
“What we saw this weekend is proof that EDM in Manila isn’t just alive, it’s thriving,” said Edward Cheang, Festival & Event Marketing Lead at Clouted. “We set out to build an indoor festival experience that didn’t ask fans to compromise on comfort to get world-class production and lineups, and the turnout this year tells us that vision is resonating. Seeing thousands of fans move between three stages over two days, discovering regional talent alongside artists like Galantis and Porter Robinson, is exactly the kind of community we set out to build.”
“&FRIENDS Festival 2026 really proved that the Philippines is ready for electronic music,” says Justin Banusing, Festival Director and CEO. “It’s taken multiple years of effort from both our team and the community, but everyone coming together this weekend really proved we’re on to something great, and it’s only going to grow from here on out. What we love about the Philippine scene is that it’s a collective effort from individuals, communities, and artists themselves.”
“Watching &FRIENDS Festival grow into what it is today has been one of the most rewarding things to be part of, and it mirrors exactly how far the music scene in the Philippines has come,” said David Viray, Chief Growth Officer at Clouted. “Using our core Clouted products to power the festival from the ground up is proof of what’s possible when marketing and live events truly work as one, and it’s a glimpse at where we’re taking the future of this industry.”
&FRIENDS Festival has built its reputation since debuting in 2025, having previously hosted headline performances from Zedd, Illenium, Seven Lions, and Knock2. The 2026 edition’s estimated turnout marks a continuation of that growth trajectory, with organizers pointing to the festival’s indoor, resort-based format, a deliberate departure from the heat and infrastructure limitations typical of outdoor festivals in the region, as a key driver of its expanding audience.
With another successful edition behind it, &FRIENDS Festival continues to position itself as the premier electronic dance music festival in Manila and a defining force in Asia’s broader EDM landscape. Organizers say more announcements on future editions will follow.

From spending every school break honing his craft to completing a songwriting diploma at the prestigious BIMM music school, Henry has found his voice as a solo artist and songwriter. His work is defined by emotional vulnerability and sweeping, timeless lyrics that set him apart in today’s pop landscape.

“Ang daming nagagalit na tao sa mga nangyayari sa paligid natin. Kailangan natin ng isang kanta na may catharsis, yung mailabas ng tao yung sama niya ng loob,” shared the “Heneral Luna” actor, who is behind the iconic line ‘p*nyeta” in the film.
He hopes that the song will encourage people to listen to one another.
He said, “Masyado na tayong maingay bilang isang bansa pero ‘di tayo nagkakasundo. Parang kailangan natin ng release para mabawasan man lang ‘yon and then sana makinig tayo sa isa’t isa.”
John, who is used to singing ballad, rock, and opera songs, revealed that it was his first time to sing blues.
“No’ng isinulat ko ito, ini-expect ko isa siyang ballad o love song na may konting suntok. No’ng dumating sa akin yung study, blues! ‘Di ako kumakanta ng blues, I was so excited. Ang ganda!” he said.

Coinciding with the song’s release, its music video has also made its premiere on ABS-CBN Star Music YouTube channel. Joining John in the MV are Kapamilya stars Jeremiah Lisbo and Karina Bautista, and content creator Christian Antolin.
Podcasting offers the LGBTQIA+ community something increasingly rare on the internet: room for the kind of nuanced conversations that build depth and meaningful audience connections. Listeners in the Philippines are tuning in; consumption of locally created LGBTQIA+ podcast shows on Spotify grew by more than 20%.
Beyond Pride Month, Spotify’s year-long support enables LGBTQIA+ creators to find new ways to connect with their audience and grow their shows—from video episodes that deepen audience connection to polls that spark conversations with every episode.
Baus Rufo and Macoy Dubs of Dogshow Divas have built a loyal following through their unfiltered conversations, undeniable chemistry, and candid takes on everyday topics—earning them a spot among Spotify Wrapped 2025’s Top New Group Podcast and the country’s leading comedy podcasts. For the duo, podcasting offers a space to discuss stories and perspectives that are often overlooked by traditional media. “Because podcasting provides creators full power and control over their voice, this medium continues to be vital for us queer people who aren’t always recognized by traditional institutions,” Baus shared.
Sophie Prime of DAGOK TIME! bounces effortlessly between Gen Z internet culture, listeners’ honest confessions, and landing a spot in Spotify’s RADAR Creators Philippines program and Wrapped 2025’s Top New Solo Podcast. For Sophie, audience growth is rooted in making listeners feel heard. “Marami pa ring mga tao ang naghahanap ng representation at ng mga kwentong makaka-relate sila. Kung may kahit isang tao na makaramdam ng ‘hindi pala ako nag-iisa’ dahil sa mga kwentong ibinabahagi natin, then that’s already a meaningful impact.”
“What we’re seeing from creators like Baus, Macoy, and Sophie reflects a broader shift in how people want to connect. These are conversations that matter, and podcasting gives them the room to have them. At Spotify, we’re committed to giving creators the platform to build communities, reach more people, and continue growing,” says Carl Zuzarte, Spotify’s Head of Podcast for Southeast Asia.
Beyond podcasting, Filipino LGBTQIA+ artists are also taking center stage. Spotify’s flagship playlist, Bahaghari, spotlights Marina Summers, Sassa Gurl, SHNTI, and geiko—four LGBTQIA+ artists at the forefront of music culture in the Philippines. The playlist’s Editorial Watch Feed provides listeners with editorial commentary on artists’ creativity, sound, and impact on the local music landscape.
The month of May became an absolute playground for pop culture fans as Hapee Toothpaste brought “Sulit Experience at the Hapee Park” to Davao and Cebu, successfully transforming local mall spaces into vibrant hubs of Hapee-ness.
At the heart of this regional tour was powerhouse P-Pop girl group KAIA, who anchored the journey by turning mall events into concert experiences from the first stop to the last. In Toril, they set a sky-high standard with sharp choreography, and in Cebu, the energy reached a fever pitch as the group treated roaring fans to extended performances.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who came out to hype us in Davao and Cebu! Seeing our ZAIAs and the local communities showing up with so much love at the Hapee Park—and sharing that ngiting pinoy energy with us on stage—made this whole tour an unforgettable milestone for all of us. Sobrang sulit niyo magmahal, maraming salamat!” — KAIA

“Hapee Park brings to life the same sulit experience that Filipinos have come to love from Hapee Toothpaste. This is the local communities’ space para mapakita ang galing at talento ng bawat isa, magtawanan and spread Ngiting Pinoy, Ngiting Hapee beyond oral care.” — Katherine De Torres-Banawa, Assistant Brand Manager (Oral Care Category) of Lamoiyan Corporation

The tours kicked off with a surprise local dancer flash mob, filling the venue with a lot of Nigiting Hapee. Eager attendees actively explored dynamic booths that highlight Hapee’s champion products. They sampled the value-packed Hapee Sulit Sakto 150g stand-up pouch for just ₱59.00 at the Hapee Sakto Shot, tested their skills at the Hapee Mouth Defense booth to playfully fight off mouth bacteria, and gathered at the Ngiting Pinoy, Ngiting Hapee Box to spread community joy by uploading their best ngiti online. By sharing their Ngiting Hapee photos online with the official hashtags, mallgoers participate in the Hapee Hour—providing cash perks and product packs. The excitement built up to the grand prize: a brand-new smartphone, perfect in jumpstarting the lucky winner’s career as a content creator.
Creator 101 Workshop was also conducted in Hapee Park. In Davao, digital creator Gosi Sim shared essential social media tips, a feature that successfully swept into the Gaisano Mall of Cebu on May 23 with Claire Pia guiding Cebu’s aspiring digital talents.

For Hapee Toothpaste, giving back isn’t just an initiative; it’s second nature, deeply woven into Lamoiyan Corporation’s DNA. This was clear as the tour inherently featured community giveback components, creating a lasting regional impact by extending vital support to MBC Operation Tulong in Cebu.
“Partnering with Hapee Toothpaste for this tour gave us a front-row seat to how a brand can genuinely uplift a community. By combining youth digital workshops, active support for our local merchants, and direct giveback initiatives, Hapee Park has set a brand-new standard for regional events here in Cebu and beyond.” — Marlon Baula, MBC Cebu
