  • Nice to MIXX You: NMIXX Debuts on the Philippine Concert Stage

Nice to MIXX You: NMIXX Debuts on the Philippine Concert Stage

NMIXX greeted their Filipino fans for the first time on the Philippine concert stage during the Manila stop of their showcase tour, which saw them perform their best hits and surprise their local fans with an adorable rendition of a Filipino nursery rhyme.

Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo, and Kyujin brought the NMIXX SHOWCASE TOUR [NICE TO MIXX YOU] to Manila last June 30, 2023, at the New Frontier Theater. The Manila stop served as the final stop of their first showcase tour which saw them perform in 13 cities in North America and Asia.

The girl group greeted Philippine NSWERs with “TANK” and “O.O”, tracks from their debut single album, Ad Mare. They then officially welcomed the crowd to the NMIXX SHOWCASE TOUR [NICE TO MIXX YOU] and delivered their signature greeting before introducing themselves one after the other.

Lily praised the audience for their singing and thanked them for coming to the showcase. “So many fans from Manila have come to support NMIXX today. Thank you! Did you wanna see us?” she said. Haewon shared that they prepared hard for the concert which Bae described as a dream come true.

“I’m so happy we were able to do this overseas tour. I’m really excited for our final stop tonight,” Jiwoo said, echoing the group’s sentiment on the successful conclusion of their first showcase tour.

NMIXX leveled up the charming stages with the funky and groovy “PAXXWORD” and “Just Did It” from their first extended play, Expรฉrgo. But before they dive into their next performances, the girls graciously taught the audience the moves to have them dance along to “Young, Dumb, Stupid”, the pre-release track from Expรฉrgo. The song got everyone singing alongโ€” voices reverting loudly at the New Frontier Theater.

Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo, and Kyujin then gave Philippine NSWERs the cutest surprise as they adorably sang the Filipino nursery rhyme “Kung Ikaw Ay Masaya”, accompanied by the audience’s loud cheers. The girl group got more treats for the fans because the evening also saw them perform TWICE’s “TT” and David Guetta’s “Hey Mama”.

The girl group continued to deliver outstanding stages, boasting their vocals, dance, and charms with “DICE” and “COOL (Your Rainbow)” from their second single album, Entwurf, and “My Gosh” from Expรฉrgo.

And of course, the night will never be complete without Philippine NSWERs showering NMIXX with love and appreciation and welcoming them with warmth to the country. The fans prepared a special video presentation for the girl group that made the girls emotional. Kyujin relayed her gratitude, saying, “As how much love NSWERs are giving to us, we will do our best to repay you with more love. I hope all of us can stay together in the future more and more and more healthily.”

Lily echoed the word of thanks, adding “It’s been a long time coming. Thank you so much for waiting. We want to see you guys so much. I see a lot of Filipino NSWERs commenting on our stuff a lot. It means so much to me. I’m so glad I finally got to see you. Thank you for the video and the signs as well.”

NMIXX concluded the Philippine stop of their showcase tour โ€” and the whole showcase tour โ€” with “HOME”, “Love Me Like This”, and encore performances of “O.O” and “Love Me Like This”. The girls bade their farewell with “Mahal kita“.

“We are happy to have this final stage of our showcase tour together with you all,” Haewon said. Lily added, “Thank you for being an amazing crowd today.” Kyujin also relayed her hope to come back to the Philippines for a concert. “Instead of a showcase, I hope we can meet at a concert. Please come, okay?”

With strong vocals, engrossing choreography, and a commanding presence on stage, NMIXX’s debut performance in Manila demonstrated their talent and ever-growing capabilities as rising K-Pop acts.

After nine years, You Me At Six came back to the country for another incredible performance to add to the repertoire!

โ€œItโ€™s a pleasure to be back in the Philippines,” said vocalist Josh Fransechi as You Me At Six performs in front of their legion of fans who waited to see them back on the local concert stage after nine years since headlining PULP Live Worldโ€™s Bazooka Rocks 3 festival in 2014.

The stage blazed and everyone in attendance was blown away last July 6 at the Skydome, welcoming the band and the Truth Decay Tour with the signature passion and energy of the Philippine concert crowd. “I and the boys are having a wonderful f*cking time with you all,โ€ Josh exclaimed during the show.

Josh, guitarists Chris Miller and Max Heyler, bassist Matt Barnes, and drummer Dan Flint delivered hardcore performances of powerhouse tracks from their most recent and eighth studio album, Truth Decay, which they released in January 2023. They opened the Manila show with “Deepcuts”. The concert’s setlist delivered a perfect mix of the vintage favorites and their recent powerhouse anthems, giving fans a journey with the band through the Truth Decay Tour. They performed the classics “Bite My Tongue”, “Stay with Me”, and “No One Does It Better”, together with “What’s It Like”, “No Future? Yeah Right”, “Give”, “Mixed Emotions”, “God Bless the 90s Kids”, and “Take on the World”.

Enjoying the concert and singing their hearts out, the crowd earned proud approval from the band. โ€œWeโ€™ve established something tonightโ€”you all have good singing voices.โ€ Capping off the evening, in Josh’s words, the Filipino way, the band performed “Suckapunch”, “Underdog”, “Reckless”, and “Beautiful Way”.

The Truth Decay Tour in Manila was a comeback that the fans of You Me At Six waited for โ€” nine years in the making. But July 6 concert once again delivered a lasting impression for both the band and the Philippine concert crowd.

  • Dreamcatcher to Return to Manila for “Under the Moonlight” Concert in August

Dreamcatcher to Return to Manila for “Under the Moonlight” Concert in August

DREAMCATCHER, THE FACE OF ROCK IN K-POP, IS COMING BACK TO MANILA!

After 4 staggering years of wait, get ready to scream your hearts out with Dreamcatcher as they take the โ€œMoonlightโ€ in Manila on August 28, 2023, at the New Frontier Theater.

Dreamcatcher, the face of rock in K-pop, is comprised of 7 members JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Dami, and Gahyeon. Fondly called by their fandom InSomnia as Deukae, they fuse mysterious horror and fantasy themes with slick dance-pop, rock, and metal. They rose quickly into the K-pop mainstream with a series of EPs in 2017 and 2018 mainly focusing on 7 nightmares/fears represented by each member.

After the success of the Nightmare series, they embarked on a new chapter with the Apocalypse series starting with their second full album, “Apocalypse: Save Us”. The album boasts 14 songs including solos from each member. The title track “Maison” is an electrifying synth-rock sending out the strong message of saving the environment. This got them their first music show win in their career, and a second one too!
“Apocalypse: Follow Us” with its title track “Vision” was the second installment in the series. The dark and edgy electronic rock song expressed Dreamcatcherโ€™s vision of the apocalyptic future if we continue to fail to care for the environment.

The culmination of the Apocalypse series comes with their recent release, their 8th mini-album, “Apocalypse: From Us” with its J-rock-sounding title track “Bon Voyage” and truly what an awesome way to bid farewell to the Apocalypse series with โ€œBon Voyageโ€ getting them their 3rd and 4th music show wins.

Random Minds ensured every InSomnia goes home happy as they maximized the showโ€™s fan benefits. Choose your desired ticket wisely as tickets will go on sale on the 2nd of July at 10AM via TicketNet outlets nationwide and online via www.ticketnet.com.ph.

  • MR. BIG to Bid Filipino Fans A Proper Farewell with “The BIG Finish” Concert in August

MR. BIG to Bid Filipino Fans A Proper Farewell with “The BIG Finish” Concert in August

Simply put, there is no other hard rock supergroup that is more important than Mr. Big.

With over 4 million albums sold worldwide, the band โ€“ vocalist Eric Martin, guitarist Paul Gilbert, bassist Billy Sheehan, and original drummer Pat Torpey โ€“ has released some of the most beloved pop/rock tunes worldwide, influenced an entire generation of musicians and forever changed the music game by becoming the standard for both technical proficiency and excellent song craftsmanship for 35 years.

This is why it is a gargantuan โ€“ and definitely bittersweet โ€“ moment for PULP Live World to announce that the highest-selling supergroup has, indeed, included Manila, Philippines among its final stops on its The BIG Finish farewell tour this August 9th, 2023.

Most notably, the band has also formed one of the deepest connections to its worldwide fanbase throughout the decadesโ€ฆ especially to the Filipino people. This will be Mr. Bigโ€™s fifth time in Manila, and the band is just as excited to see their fans come out.

Though original drummer and co-founder Pat Torpey sadly passed in February of 2018 due to Parkinsonโ€™s Disease, the band is proud to announce that they will be joined by longtime friend Nick Virgilio, who Gilbert shares, was โ€œa fan of Patโ€™s, and is the closest to getting the spirit of the late drummerโ€™s breadth of skill.โ€ Virgilio is now-among the list of the few prominent musicians to have played with Mr. Big, which includes drummers Matt Starr and guitar superstar Richie Kotzen.

Of course, it wouldnโ€™t be a proper goodbye if the band didnโ€™t deliver its biggest hits for one last time: โ€œTo Be With You,โ€ โ€œJust Take My Heart,โ€ โ€œGreen Tinted Sixties Mind,โ€ โ€œTake Cover,โ€ โ€œWild World,โ€ โ€œShine,โ€ โ€œGoinโ€™ Where The Wind Blowsโ€ are just a few classics in the bandโ€™s repertoire, having released 9 full-length studio albums, countless of live albums, singles and rarities from 1989 to the present. And for this tour, the band will be playing their breakthrough Platinum-selling 1991 album Lean Into It in its entirety.

โ€œWe wanted to do a proper farewell, and this seems like the right way to do it,โ€ bassist Sheehan shares, while vocalist Martin adds: โ€œIโ€™m glad weโ€™re getting a chance to do it all onstage together as Mr. Big again and raise a flag to everything weโ€™ve done as a band through the years; I love playing with these guys, and if Iโ€™m being honest, I donโ€™t want it to ever end โ€“ but if this is really the end, then I want us all to have a happy ending together.โ€

Guitarist Paul Gilbert concludes: โ€œMusic is like time travel โ€“ you can hear something that takes you back to 1992 โ€“ and on this tour, I want to give people the opportunity to time-travelโ€ฆ good music is timeless.โ€

PULP Live World Presents: Mr. Big – The BIG Finish will be held at the SM North Edsa Skydome. Tickets can be purchased at all SM Tickets outlets nationwide and online via www.smtickets.com.

Over the span of their career, they have released 18 singles, 4 studio albums, and 4 extended plays. This and their wide discography speak so much of the membersโ€™ talents โ€“ bringing hits that topped charts and amassed several accolades in a short amount of time.
