Close Up Summer Solstice Philippines’ Largest Dance Music Festival

Surging to the forefront of mainstream tastes, Electronic Dance Music, better known as EDM, has amassed an infectious movement that has rapidly infiltrated the Philippines.

Last year David Guetta and Alesso rocked the MOA Arena, earlier this year Swedish House Mafia made a stop in the Philippines for their One Last Tour tour, and next month Avicii will make his second visit to the metro. Other DJs that have stopped over include Porter Robinson, R3hab, Dirty South, Dash Berlin, Ferry Corsten, and Alesso among others.

This April 27th, however, will see the largest EDM dance party that has ever rocked the country—because what’s better than partying with one international DJ? Seven.

AfroJack, Apster, Alex Gaudino, Cedric Gervais, Cobra Starship, Dev, the JumpSmokers, Sandwich, SpongeCola and UrbanDub will be summoning all music lovers, partygoers, adventure seekers, to the CloseUp Summer Solstice Music Festival for twelve hours of music, dance and fun.

From sunset to sunrise, the CloseUp Summer Solstice is 12-hours of non-stop music (4PM to 4AM) featuring the perfect mix of local flavor, mainstream hits, party-rocking beats, and remixes that will blow your mind—making it the must-go dance party of the summer.

Know more about the foreign artists who will perform at the Close Up Summer Solstice 2013 on April 27 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.

    Smash Project 2012 Concert Review

The highly anticipated Smash Project 2012 is one of the best concerts we’ve had this year at the Smart Araneta Coliseum with multiple acts that we can never imagine to be on stage in one big event.  The 5-hour event top billed by four international bands like The Cab, Cobra Starship, Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional and The Used were joined by our top local bands Typecast, Urbandub, Slapshock and Chicosci plus a performance from Malaysian band One Buck Short.

    Front Acts
    Chicosci Slapshock

    Typecast One Buck Short

Local band Typecast opened the show and played one of their best songs Boston Drama. The band proved once again their reputation as one of the most unique local bands. Second on stage was Urbandub, they performed First of Summer and Soul Searching. Chicosci hit on stage with their songs Paris and Diamond Shotgun. After kicking the show with 3 local bands, One Buck Short took the stage with their rock version of Katy Perry’s #1 hit Last Friday Night. Slapshock was the last band to perform and gave a performance that made the crowd wild.

A 15-minute break was given to The Cab to prepare for their set. The excitement of the audience particularly at the lower box section was insane. They’re shouting the name of Alex, (vocalist of The Cab) who has Filipino roots. It’s very obvious that the band knew how to entertain the crowd. There were a lot of banters after almost each song. They delivered a 40-minute set of punk/pop music including Angel With A Shotgun, Bad, Intoxicated and their massive hit Bounce.

The company first concert production venture was YELLOWCARD Live in Manila, held in A-Venue Hall, Makati City last February 20, 2011. Manila was the only Southeast Asian stop for the American punk rock band. This was followed by Irish band THE SCRIPT. The Script live in Manila was held in Araneta Coliseum last April 16, 2011. The concert co-produced with ARF Production was a massive success, with the concert goers filling in every corner of the Coliseum. It was Dayly Entertainment’s first SOLD OUT concert.

Other projects by Dayly Entertainment include American pop punk band, ALL TIME LOW, co-produced with Ovation Productions; WESTLIFE Gravity Tour was another solo venture by the company, followed by JASON MRAZ on a Special Acoustic Evening with Toca Rivera; the latter bringing in another sold out concert in Dayly Entertainment’s portfolio. American rock band TRAIN, served as the year-ender concert production held in Araneta Coliseum last December 7, 2011.

Dayly Entertainment begins 2012 on a high note with 6 concerts lined up for the first quarter of 2012, beginning with SIMPLE PLAN Get Your Heart On Tour on January 12, 2012 at the SMART Araneta Coliseum. This will be the Canadian pop punk sensation 4th visit in Manila. Expect an energy filled evening as the band that gave us hits “Perfect”, “Untitled” and the recently released “Jet Lag”, rock the dome this January. This would be followed by WORLD WRESTLING FAN EXPERIENCE, which would be the second production venture of Dayly Entertainment for 2012. The Champion Showcase Tour, featuring renowned wrestlers SMACKDOWN Superstar M.V.P, Carlito and Mr. Kennedy will be held at the SMART Araneta Coliseum on February 4, 2011. This event demonstrates the producers’ ability to cater to diverse and varied forms of entertainment.

True to their commitment of providing outstanding and memorable concert production, Dayly Entertainment brings 4 American bands set to perform on one stage for a mini festival this 8th of March.
