Written by Montillano himself, “alon” captures a personal journey of overcoming inner hesitation and learning to move with life’s uncertainties rather than against them. Built on a mid-tempo, introspective soundscape, the track mirrors the ebb and flow of emotions—fragile yet steady, uncertain yet hopeful.

About the Song

At its core, “alon” explores how self-doubt can hold a person back, with growth beginning the moment you take that first step even in fear. With warm, atmospheric production, the track carries its central metaphor of floating through life’s waves, as heard in the line “Sa alon tayo’y lulutang.”

“Never doubt yourself, and never let anyone tell you you’re not enough—even if that person is yourself,” Kevin shares.

With its release, “alon” adds to Montillano’s growing body of introspective work, positioning him as an artist drawn to emotional honesty and understated storytelling.

On February 6, he followed it with “Dalaw” featuring Bishnu Paneru, a haunting and introspective piece that explores themes of guilt, distance, and unresolved emotions. 

By March 6, Gloc-9 delivered “Lupit,” once again with Bishnu Paneru, offering a high-energy showcase of lyrical sharpness and artistic hunger.

Continuing the streak, Gloc-9 is set to release “Lunod” on May 15, featuring EC Orduna. Expanding his artistry beyond music, Gloc-9—born Aristotle Pollisco—recently released a series of poetry chapbooks titled “Makata Sa Pinas: Mga Tula Ni Aristotle Pollisco.”

The collection was launched at the Philippine Book Festival 2026 held at SM Megamall, where readers and supporters gathered to experience his writing in a different format.

Grateful, grounded, and unmistakably electrifying, BINI capped their historic Coachella 2026 run with a landmark second performance—an emphatic celebration of Filipino talent on one of the world’s biggest stages.

Returning to the Mojave Stage on Saturday morning (April 18, PHT) or Friday (April 17, PDT), the eight-member group delivered a 45-minute set that fused precision, charisma, and national pride. From the moment Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena greeted the crowd with a unified “Mabuhay”—with several members introducing themselves in their respective dialects—the tone was clear: this was more than a performance; it was representation.

“To everyone watching around the world, we see you! Thank you so much for being here with us again,” Sheena told the audience, underscoring the global reach of their appearance.

Reflecting on their return, Aiah added, “Last week was unforgettable, and we had so much fun. But today, we’re given another chance to represent our beloved country, the Philippines, so we have to make the most out of it.”

Opening with “Strings,” BINI powered through a tightly curated setlist that included “Zero Pressure,” “Out Of My Head,” “Karera,” and “Salamin, Salamin.” The momentum continued with “Blink Twice,” “Cherry On Top,” “Blush,” and “Bikini,” culminating in a high-energy finale with “Pantropiko,” punctuated by an electrifying dance break that drew a roaring reaction from the crowd.

Online, the impact was immediate. BINI dominated global conversations on X (formerly Twitter), sweeping the top three worldwide trending spots with #BINI_CoachellaWk2, BINI BORN FOR COACHELLA, and #BINICHELLA—further proof of their expanding international footprint.

Their Coachella debut the previous week had already marked a milestone, with BINI becoming the first Filipino group to perform at the festival. That initial set on April 11 earned recognition from leading international publications, including Forbes, The Hollywood Reporter, Rolling Stone, and The Guardian, which cited their performance as one of the standout moments of the weekend.

The group’s digital presence echoed that success. Performance clips of “Pantropiko” and “Blush” amassed over 5 million and 1.8 million views, respectively, ranking among the most-watched highlights on Coachella’s official YouTube channel.

Back home, recognition extended to the halls of government. Bam Aquino filed Senate Resolution No. 370, commending BINI for bringing pride and honor to the Philippines while spotlighting Filipino artistry on a global platform.
