  • Disney On Ice: Magic in the Stars โ€“ A Magical Holiday Spectacle at MOA Arena

Disney On Ice: Magic in the Stars โ€“ A Magical Holiday Spectacle at MOA Arena

Disney On Ice is back at Manila’s Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena from December 20, 2025, to January 4, 2026, with its magical show, Magic in the Stars. The theme for this year is “Magic and the Stars.” It takes families on a journey through the stars where wishes light up the night sky and classic Disney stories are mixed with new ones. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Goofy host the show, which has 56 Disney characters, more than ever before. It’s a celebration of storytelling, song, and amazing ice-skating skills that people of all ages can enjoy. For a lot of Filipino families, it’s not just a show; it’s a beloved holiday tradition that brings joy, connection, and wonder.

This show turns the arena into a starry wonderland, where every story starts with a wish on a star. Young viewers and their families will glide through a tapestry of beloved Disney stories, brought to life with breathtaking choreography, vibrant costumes, fire dancers, high-flying acrobatics, and interactive elements that pull audiences into the magic. It is meant to be fun for everyone. Toddlers will love the bright characters and upbeat songs, and parents and grandparents can enjoy both old favorites and new hits.

Matthew Garrick Vice President of APAC Feld Entertainment

From the moment families enter the venue, the immersion begins: pre-show merchandise booths buzz with excitement, building anticipation as curtains rise to unveil the main cast. Each performance runs about 2 hours (with intermission), offering multiple showtimes daily to fit holiday schedules. Tickets start from affordable family packs, making it accessible for all.

    Sophie and Sequioa

Magic in the Stars is really about making dreams come true and memories that will last a lifetime. From the skater’s point of view, the goal is clear: to get people, especially kids, to go after their dreams with the same courage as these characters. One performer said, “We want the audience and the kids to feel inspired to follow their dreams.” I know that every one of you has a wish. So, take this chance to make a wish on a star. You never know what will happen; it will be truly magical.”

This edition has a special meaning for Filipino families. It has been a holiday tradition since 1990 (it will be 35 years old in Manila in 2025) and includes local touches like adobo dinners after the show or sing-alongs to “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Encanto. One highlight was when a skater dressed as Princess Tiana talked about how excited she was to bring her character to life, saying, “It’s an honor to bring her character to life, who is so hardworking and resilientโ€ฆ” I hope that everyone has seen that all of our hard work paid off. It’s a nod to not giving up, which is similar to how many families have traveled.

Arnel Gonzales – Vice President General Manager Mall of Asia Arena

SM, the venue’s operator, is very important to keeping this tradition going behind the scenes. They’ve hosted Disney On Ice for decades because they care about providing the best family experiences. Recently, crowds at MOA Arena reached 1 million. Arnel Gonzales, the Vice President General Manager of Mall of Asia Arena, said, “We usually try to give everyone the best family entertainment possible.” He talked about how the Cebu Arena will open in 2026, which will bring the magic closer to more areas. Every year, the show gets better: the casts get bigger, the technology gets more immersive, and the stories get new. “Every year I come, it gets bigger and more immersive,” said one experienced producer. Every year, there is a new part of the show that we could experience with them.

Disney On Ice: Magic in the Stars is a shining example of something that is affordable, fun, and life-changing in a world full of distractions. No matter if it’s your first time or your 35th, you can expect to leave with a full heart, bigger dreams, and a family tradition that will last. Get your tickets soon through official channels like smtickets.com or SM Tickets outlets. Then let the stars align for a holiday you’ll never forget. Who knows? On the ice, your wish might come true.

Masculados Comes Home to Universal Records

Iconic Filipino group Masculados is returning to their musical roots by signing back with Universal Records, the label that launched their meteoric rise to fame. The group expressed immense excitement about embarking on the latest chapter of their career under the banner that first propelled them into the spotlight.

Universal Records Executive Vice President Ramon Chuaying gladly shared his enthusiasm for the reunion, stating: โ€œWe are glad that Masculados is coming back to their home label. We shall be working on new songs with Masculados, and we look forward to delivering more hits. Yung mga millennials and Gen Z, gusto nating malaman nila yung kasikatan ng Masculados.โ€

Members of Masculados echoed the sentiment, highlighting their anticipation for what’s next. โ€œLooking forward kami sa mga projects ulit, kasi dito nagsimula ang mga songs namin at dito naman nakilala rin ang Masculados,โ€ they said. The group also teased fans with promises of their signature high-octane performances, assuring supporters they can expect โ€œ100% kaldaganโ€ in all upcoming endeavors.

Fans donโ€™t have to wait long for fresh content, according to Universal Records Managing Director Kathleen Dy-Go. The day after the signing, Universal Records released an exciting budots versionย  of the Masculados hit โ€œJumbo Hotdog,โ€ remixed by the internationally-acclaimed DJ Love from Davao City, who popularized budots. This is definitely just the first of the many pasabog from Masculados and Universal Records.

  • Catch the Topee Fever with Jeff Moses and Sam Shoaf!

Catch the Topee Fever with Jeff Moses and Sam Shoaf!

These two are set to steal hearts as they channel the barkadaโ€™s cool martial arts whiz.

The barkada gets an extra dose of cool with Topee, the martial arts ace and certified athletic heartthrob. Originally portrayed by J.C. Bonnin in the 1984 classic, Topee makes his stage debut in the 2026 production of Bagets The Musical, where Jeff Moses and Sam Shoaf will take on the role. These young stars will spark high school kilig as they bring their own brand of charm and mystery to the beloved character.

Embodying Topeeโ€™s Hiligaynon roots with Jeff Moses

Jeff Moses is set to showcase Topeeโ€™s Hiligaynon roots in the upcoming Bagets The Musical, a detail that deeply resonates with his own background. Born and raised in Negros Occidental, Moses knows the weight of distance and the bittersweet pull of home.
โ€œPuli โ€˜ta Bacolod. Madalas โ€˜yung โ€˜yung sinasabi niya sa nanay niya (Letโ€™s go home to Bacolod. Thatโ€™s what he often tells his mother),โ€ he shares. โ€œAko ramdam ko โ€˜yung bigat noโ€™n kasi tuwing holidays na lang din ako nakakauwi saโ€™min. (I can really feel the weight of that because I only get to go home during the holidays.)โ€

After signing with GMA Sparkle Artist Center, Moses moved to Metro Manila, where he began building a career in film and television. He has since starred in Under a Piaya Moon, earning Best Actor at the 1st Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival, and appeared in the television series Abot Kamay na Pangarap and Magpakailanman. He was recognized as Outstanding Youth of the Philippines in the 2023 Philippine Outstanding Men & Women Awards.

โ€œSi Topee kasi mabait, mature, at tinatratong pamilya โ€˜yung mga tropa niya (Topee is kind, mature, and treats his friends like family),โ€ he continues. โ€œPero deep inside, may tinatagong vulnerability (But deep inside, he hides a vulnerability).โ€

Life does not make it easy for the beloved character. He is pushed to grow up fast, stand on his own, and figure things out.

โ€œKahit ganun, siguro ang gusto kong ma-realize ng mga manonood ng Bagets The Musical ay hindi mawawala โ€™yung pagiging young at heart natin (Even so, what I hope audiences take away from Bagets The Musical is that our being young at heart never goes away,) โ€ Moses concludes. โ€œPwede pa rin tayong sumaya o malungkot na parang bata (We can still feel joy or sadness like a child.โ€

The 24-year-old artist is looking forward to his first theater stint. He admits feeling nervous about performing on a stage with no take twos or edits, just raw, live acting.

    Finding Topee in Sam Shoaf
Sam Shoaf has a fun side unknown to most people. He loves the โ€™80sโ€”the music, the fashion, the bright, lively colors. โ€œEverything was just full of life back then,โ€ he says.

It is the same spark he saw in Topee when he first watched the coming-of-age classic.
โ€œIf he were alive today, I think heโ€™d be the kind of guy obsessed with working out on TikTok, always on his phone but never missing the fun,โ€ adds Shoaf.

This is the quality he shares with the character. The young artist is passionate about learning different forms of martial arts. His role in Ang Mutya ng Section E even gained popularity for its fighter edge.
โ€œI see a lot of similarities between me and Topee,โ€ he shares. โ€œWe love staying active, but at the same time, I think we both prefer keeping much of whatโ€™s going on in our lives to ourselves.โ€

Most teenagers, or even adults, have felt emotions that are hard to explain. These feelings are at the heart of Bagets The Musical.โ€œThe story is about us,โ€ he explains. โ€œJust a different timeline, different variables, but the same plot.โ€

Having appeared on The Voice Kids Philippines and Your Face Sounds Familiar, Shoaf says he is excited to bring that heart to the stage through acting, singing, and dancing.

Such vibrant production captures that messy, thrilling ride of growing up. It shows that the magic of adolescence never truly disappears; it simply evolves over time.

Bagets The Musical is scheduled to run from January 23 to March 2026 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, with more cast members to be revealed soon. Joining Moses and Shoaf in the lead cast are Noel Comia Jr. and Tomas Rodriguez as Gilbert, Milo Cruz and Migo Valid as Tonton, and Ethan David and KD Estrada as Arnel.

The musical is a joint production of VIVA Communications Inc, The Philippine STAR, and Newport World Resorts, guided by the creative vision of the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) Plus, with director Maribel Legarda, playwright J-mee Katanyag, and musical director Vince Lim. Bagets the Musical is also supported through a partnership with Sun Life Philippines.

  • Following Her Recent Wins, KREY Follows Up With โ€œWhyโ€

Following Her Recent Wins, KREY Follows Up With โ€œWhyโ€

KREY has unveiled her newest single, “Why,” a hypnotizing alternative piece that whispers about complicated love. This release follows the warm reception of her earlier works “Waters” and “Meet Again,” which found their way onto Spotify’s discerning playlists โ€” FRESH FINDS PH, OPM RISING, POSES, NEW MUSIC FRIDAY, and .PH โ€” drawing listeners into her world of introspection.

In KREYโ€™S words: โ€œIn a world overcomplicating love, โ€˜Whyโ€™ questions the mess and finds a simple truth. To my listeners, may this song be your guide to finding what feels right.โ€

The song’s indie alternative vibe invites you to daydream, stirring sentimental feelings of nostalgia and introspection. โ€œWhyโ€ questions the irrational side of love. How can two people build a shared life and future together, only to end up as strangers or enemies? As the lyrics put it, โ€œWondering why lifeโ€™s so weird that you meet someone that you wonโ€™t last with at all.โ€

Following her career wins, KREY has stayed active with live performances, including one at a Converge Philippines event and another at the Kadayawan Festival in Ayala Malls Abreeza, Davao, last August. For those craving a live performance, KREY is set to launch the single alongside an exclusive music video screening in Manila. Stay tuned by following Diorama FM and KREY on all social media platforms.

    WHY
    KREY

    verse 1:
been manipulated by those eyes- ah ah eyes
somethinโ€™ โ€˜bout the words you say and the way you say it keeps me in a cloud
I donโ€™t wanna lose myself this time
I was vindicated with the words you say that keeps me insane
    prechor:
And I- I would run to you
But I- Iโ€™m so done with you
    chorus:
why did lovers in the past
    make it all make sense?
    now it doesnโ€™t make sense
    at all..
cause nothing lasts, because of people like you hurting people like me..
and all the time itโ€™s fast,
    and no it doesnโ€™t require
    any feeling and at most,
    itโ€™s playing games..
    verse 2:
Wondering why lifeโ€™s so weird that you meet someone that you wonโ€™t last with at all
Is there something bout the way that humans break just to build these walls?
    prechor:
And I- I would run to you
But I- Iโ€™m so done with you
    chorus:
why did lovers in the past
    make it all make sense?
    now it doesnโ€™t make sense
    at all..
cause nothing lasts, because of people like you hurting people like me..
and all the time itโ€™s fast,
    and no it doesnโ€™t require
    any feeling and at most,
    itโ€™s playing games..

Itfeatures an impressive array of guest appearances including Clipse, Ciara, Ty Dolla $ign, Vince Staples, Jessie Reyez, Westside Gunna and more, creating a rich and diverse sonic landscape. God Does Like Ugly instantly became a timeless contribution to the yearโ€™s hip-hop releases marking another successful project from J.I.D in the pantheon of his catalog. • Smashing Pumpkins Invades Manila: A Nostalgic Trip Back to the ’90s Grunge Glory

Smashing Pumpkins Invades Manila: A Nostalgic Trip Back to the ’90s Grunge Glory

The rain fell over Metro Manila, just like it did on the stormy night in 2012 when The Smashing Pumpkins last played there. But for the thousands of fans mostly dressed in black, the rain only made the electric nostalgia in the air stronger. For kids in the 1990s who listened to “Siamese Dream” and “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness” over and over, this wasn’t just a concert; it was a trip back to their childhood.

Billy Corgan, the band’s lead singer, was joined by original members James Iha on guitar and Jimmy Chamberlin on drums, as well as bassist Jack Bates and guitarist Kiki Wong. They played a setlist full of classic songs from their catalog that blew the roof off the place.

The lights went out, and the crowd went wild when the band started their set with the pulsing, futuristic riffs of “Glass’ Theme” from ‘Machina/The Machines of God’ and then the gritty, industrial churn of “Heavy Metal Machine.” The energy was immediate and visceral, reminding me of the Pumpkins’ ability to mix raw power with deep sadness. Billy Corgan, whose bald head shone under the stage lights, led the charge with a voice that still carried the weight of a generation’s anger.

โ€œMagandang gabi! Maraming salamat, Manila!โ€ Corgan yelled out, and his Tagalog greeting was met with loud cheers. The frontman, who is now in his late 50s, wore a long black coat and stood tall. He was as commanding as ever. The setlist was a love letter to long-time fans, taking them through different periods of the band’s long and successful career. Then, a surprise cover of Berlin’s “Take My Breath Away” came on. The dreamy synths and Corgan’s haunting voice cast a spell over the crowd. Then came “Mayonaise,” with its shining guitars and raw emotion that made many people cry, and “Disarm,” which turned the coliseum into a cathedral of shared weakness. The rain outside seemed to fall in time with the strings that hurt.

But the crowd really went wild when the first notes of “Tonight, Tonight” rang out through the arena. Fans swayed, held their hands up, and sang every word like the last 30 years had never happened. The strings, the hope, the heartbreakโ€”it was like 1995 again, and Manila was living it. The sea of black shirts, each with a pumpkin and a zero logo on it, moved as one, lost in the song that defined their youth. “1979” was also a well-received performance, the dreamy alt-rock vibes and infectious energy of the song got the crowd going.

As the night came to an end, Corgan spoke to the happy, wet crowd one last time. โ€œThank you very much! Get home safe, youโ€™re the best,โ€ he said, his voice warm with gratitude. The fans, soaked but not giving up, stayed as the last notes faded, not wanting to let the moment pass.

For kids in the 1990s, this wasn’t just a concert; it was a reunion, a reckoning, and a reminder that the songs that shaped them are still alive and well. As the rain kept falling, The Smashing Pumpkins showed once again that their music will never go out of style, just like the city that welcomed them back with open arms.

Special thanks to PULP Live World

  • Tilly Birds Join Forces with Ben&Ben on New English Single โ€œHeavenโ€

Tilly Birds Join Forces with Ben&Ben on New English Single โ€œHeavenโ€

Bangkok, Thailand โ€“ Thailandโ€™s leading alternative pop-rock band Tilly Birds continue their journey into English-language music with their brand-new single โ€œHeavenโ€, following the heartfelt release of “Never A Waste Of Time”.

This time, Tilly Birds’ team up with none other than Ben&Ben, the Philippinesโ€™ biggest folk-pop band, whose music has surpassed 2 billion Spotify streams and earned numerous awards across Asia. The collaboration brings together the fresh, playful pop sound of Tilly Birds with Ben&Benโ€™s signature heartfelt melodiesโ€”creating a track that is as vibrant as it is memorable.

The story behind โ€œHeavenโ€ began with a backstage friendship when both bands shared the same lineup at a concert in Malaysia. Inspired by that connection, the three members of Tilly Birds later flew to Manila to co-write the song with Ben&Ben. Recording sessions spanned across borders, with files exchanged between Bangkok and Manila, until the track was fully brought to life.

The collaboration culminated in a music video shot in the Philippines, featuring all three members of Tilly Birds alongside Ben&Benโ€™s nine members. The experience was described by both bands as fun, warm, and filled with genuine friendshipโ€”a true testament to the spirit of โ€œHeaven.โ€

Lyrically, the single captures the joy of meeting someone unexpectedly, at just the right time, and sharing a moment of happiness togetherโ€”like finding a little piece of heaven on earth. In many ways, the collaboration between Tilly Birds and Ben&Ben itself is another definition of โ€œHeaven.โ€

โ€œHeavenโ€ is now available worldwide on all streaming platforms.

  • Introducing the OG conyo boy, Arnel

Introducing the OG conyo boy, Arnel

Ethan David and KD Estrada join as the third member of Bagets The Musicalโ€™s favorite barkada

Ethan David and KD Estrada as Arnel shot on location at Hilton Manila Newport World Resorts

Bagets The Musical shows no signs of slowing down its big barkada reveal.
This time, the excitement is at an all-time high as the original conyo makes his entrance. First portrayed by Raymond Lauchengco, Arnel is a polished teen torn between following his heart and meeting his motherโ€™s expectations.
The 2026 stage production invites a new generation to rediscover the character through the performances of young stars Ethan David and KD Estrada.

Ethan David on embracing the challenge
Ethan David is exactly the performer the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) has been looking for. A member of the P-pop boy group G.A.T., he also boasts a solid acting resume, with credits in TV series such as Seducing Drake Palma, Ang Mutya ng Section E, and Avenues of the Diamond. โ€œI did theater abroad, but since coming home, Iโ€™ve focused more on screen work than stage,โ€ he shares. โ€œOn TV, subtle expressions can work,โ€ he explains. โ€œOn stage, I have to make my movements bigger and project my voice for the audience.โ€

Rather than shy away from the challenge, he embraces it by stepping out of his comfort zone with vocal training and stamina-building exercises. โ€œArnelโ€™s always all-out for his friends,โ€ adds David. โ€œI want the audience to feel that energy and see heโ€™s there for them, whether in big gestures or small ones.โ€ This dedication reflects how deeply he connects with the character. The artist admits he has faced his own share of conflicts about what he wants. โ€œDespite his flaws, I hope the audience sees how he musters up courage and motivates others to do the same,โ€ he shares.

KD Estrada on becoming one with Arnel
There is no mistaking it: KD Estrada is a complete mirror of Arnel. The accent, the height, the vibe โ€” everything about him exudes a well-mannered charm. โ€œWhen I auditioned, my number one pick was Arnel because I see myself in him,โ€ he begins. โ€œIโ€™d say if he were real right now, he would be exactly like me.โ€ The beloved character is fun but responsible, chill but not one to give in to peer pressure. โ€œI admire that about him. In the film, you can always see his hesitance,โ€ he says. โ€œThat he just doesnโ€™t do things because theyโ€™re โ€˜inโ€™ or what youโ€™re supposed to do.โ€ Arnelโ€™s strength, however, comes at a cost. Estrada notes that he empathizes with the roleโ€™s struggles, especially the uncertainty it brings.

โ€œIโ€™m grateful to have a strong support system at home,โ€ he shares. โ€œBut I guess we all go through that phase where we donโ€™t know whether to follow our own dreams or what other people want for us.โ€ Portraying such depth is not new to him. This is his second theater production, following his debut in Walang Aray with screen partner Alexa Ilacad. He has also appeared in several TV series, including Unloving You, Bola Bola, Run to Me, and his latest, Pira-pirasong Paraiso. When asked about his favorite takeaway and the lesson audiences should remember, the artist answered without hesitation. “The friends that you make in high school are some of the best friends youโ€™ll ever have.โ€ Arnel proves that the struggles of growing up never fade. With Ethan David and KD Estrada bringing him to life, his story of friendship, courage, and staying true to oneself continues to resonate across generations. Bagets The Musical is scheduled to run from January 23 to March 2026 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, with more cast members to be revealed soon. Joining David and Estrada in the lead cast are Noel Comia Jr. and Tomas Rodriguez as Gilbert, and Milo Cruz and Migo Valid as Tonton.

  • Gloc-9โ€™s โ€œKakampiโ€ Is For Those Whoโ€™ve Got Your Back!

Gloc-9โ€™s โ€œKakampiโ€ Is For Those Whoโ€™ve Got Your Back!

Lifeโ€™s a rollercoaster, but when youโ€™ve got the right person by your side, every twist and turn feels a little easier. Thatโ€™s the vibe behind โ€œKakampi,โ€ the latest track from Gloc-9, Abaddon, and Hero. The word โ€œkakampiโ€ means โ€œally,โ€ and this song is all about being that ride-or-die partner who sticks with you through thick and thin.

Following Gloc-9โ€™s previous release โ€œBonethugs,โ€ which explored misunderstandings and quarrels in relationships, โ€œKakampiโ€ serves as a reminder that at the end of the day, partners are allies who have each otherโ€™s backs: “Ramdam ko ang nasa loob, tandaan mo ang ikaw ay ako. Ang pangako’y pang-hawakan mo dahil sumpa ko yan sa’yo, ako’y kakampi mo.”

The track is a tribute to the person you can always rely on and grow with, the chorus highlights that perfectly: โ€œMalalampasan din natin ang lahat ng ‘to. Walang hindi kaya, basta tayo’y mag-kasama. Pahinga lang saglit, huminga’t pumikit. Tapos laban ulit, gano’n tayo kalupit. Mas madaling lumaban, mas matindi ‘pag tayo ay mag-kakampi.โ€

โ€œKakampiโ€ is out now on all major streaming platforms. Whether youโ€™re in a relationship or you just want to remind someone special that youโ€™ve got their back, this song is the perfect anthem for sticking together no matter what.

    โ€œKakampiโ€
    Gloc-9, Abaddon, Hero

    Gloc-9 verse

Mahahanap kahit pumikit, mabulag man ay makakapa

    Chorus
Malalampasan din natin ang lahat ng ‘to
Walang hindi kaya, basta tayo’y mag-kasama
    Pahinga lang saglit, huminga’t pumikit
Tapos laban ulit, gano’n tayo kalupit
    Mas madaling lumaban
Mas matindi ‘pag tayo ay mag-kakampi

    Abaddon verse

Tama o mali man, ating panindigan
    Ilang beses na tayong sinubukan
Kaya ‘di para sukuan, tagusin nating sabay ang kabiguan

    Chorus
Malalampasan din natin ang lahat ng ‘to
Walang hindi kaya, basta tayo’y mag-kasama
    Pahinga lang saglit, huminga’t pumikit
Tapos laban ulit, gano’n tayo kalupit
    Mas madaling lumaban
Mas matindi ‘pag tayo ay mag-kakampi

    Hero verse

    Chorus
Malalampasan din natin ang lahat ng ‘to
Walang hindi kaya, basta tayo’y mag-kasama
    Pahinga lang saglit, huminga’t pumikit
Tapos laban ulit, gano’n tayo kalupit
    Mas madaling lumaban
Mas matindi ‘pag tayo ay mag-kakampi

    Outro
Mas madali ‘pag tayo ay mag-kakampi
    Tayo’y mag-kakampi
