  • Peabo Bryson Returns to Manila: A Golden Touch of Timeless Ballads!

Peabo Bryson Returns to Manila: A Golden Touch of Timeless Ballads!

Legendary R&B and soul singer Peabo Bryson, often hailed as the “King of Balladeers,” is set to grace Manila once again with his velvety voice and iconic hits. The two-time Grammy and Oscar winner will perform a one-night-only concert as part of his “The Golden Touch Tour” on March 8, 2026, at The Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque City, Metro Manila. This highly anticipated event celebrates over five decades of Bryson’s illustrious career, promising an evening filled with sweeping ballads, heartfelt classics, and the kind of musical magic that has defined generations.

Bryson, now 74, first rose to prominence in the 1970s with his smooth, emotive style that blended R&B, soul, and pop. His breakthrough came with albums like Reaching for the Sky (1977) and Crosswinds (1978), but it was his duets for Disney films that cemented his legacy. The timeless “Beauty and the Beast” with Céline Dion and “A Whole New World” with Regina Belle both earned him Academy Awards and Grammys, becoming staples in romantic playlists worldwide. Hits like “If Ever You’re in My Arms Again,” “Tonight, I Celebrate My Love” (with Roberta Flack), and “Can You Stop the Rain” have resonated with fans for decades, showcasing his unparalleled ability to convey deep emotion through song.

The Manila stop is part of Bryson’s Asia leg, following announcements of performances in Singapore as well. Produced by Biz Trends, the concert kicks off at 8:00 PM, with tickets available through TicketWorld starting from December 12, 2025. Fans can expect a setlist spanning his extensive catalog, from early soulful tracks to his award-winning Disney anthems, all delivered with the passion that has kept Bryson relevant for over 50 years.

In a recent exclusive interview with the PhilippineConcerts, Bryson shared what he is most looking forward to, returning to Manila this year?

PC: What are you most looking forward to returning to Manila this year?

Peabo Bryson: In the height of social discord, it was in the 50’s, and I went to a concert with my mother where Sam Cooke and Jackie Wilson were on stage, and they did something with their music there, they transcended racism, prejudice, religion, and politics. They made everybody stand and fellowship together. I thought that was the most powerful thing I have ever seen, and I have not seen anybody use music as a platform like that, and it resonated with me. Actually, honestly, it’s the reason I chose this as a profession. What I try to do now and in every single concert is to recreate that fellowship. I don’t do it from the stage. I’m going to get out there among you, I’m going to stand there with you in fellowship, and we’re going to sing the same song together. We’re not going to worry about who we stand next to, we’re not going to get worried about anything, we’re going to fellowship together, and we’ll feel good about it. And that’s why I do fellowship with my audience every single night, that’s what I look forward to doing in all these places, especially in Indonesia and the Philippines. I came here to fellowship, that’s what I do now, and again, that’s the basic reason why God has allowed me to continue my career, because I’m spreading that message, and I’m reminding people not to forget it. That simple.

Speaking specifically about his upcoming performance in Manila, Bryson highlighted a shift toward more intimate and intentional shows. “My objective now is laser-focused on one philosophy, to fellowship with my audience up close and personal,” he explained. “I don’t want to be on a stage doing it. If you’ve got a message, you need to be among the people and speak that message with them.” Rejecting the “imaginary wall” between performers and audiences, Bryson promised a personal connection with Filipino fans, whom he holds in high regard. This marks his return after a postponed 2023 show and his last appearance in 2018 for the “Love Rocks” Valentine’s concert.

With a career that has produced over 20 albums and influenced countless artists, Bryson’s “The Golden Touch Tour” is more than a concert, it’s a celebration of resilience, faith, and the power of music to transcend time. Filipino fans, known for their passionate support of balladeers, are in for an unforgettable night. Secure your tickets now, for this golden opportunity only with Peabo Bryson.

  • 25 Years After “Pagdating ng Panahon,” Ice Seguerra Returns to Where the Story Began!

25 Years After “Pagdating ng Panahon,” Ice Seguerra Returns to Where the Story Began!

MANILA, Philippines — Twenty-five years after Pagdating ng Panahon became one of the most defining songs in Original Pilipino Music, Ice Seguerra is returning to the place where his story was first projected—and choosing, this time, how it begins.

Being Ice: Live! at the New Frontier, happening on February 27, 2026, is not a repeat of the earlier Newport staging of the concert memoir. It is a homecoming in the truest sense: a return to New Frontier Theater, the Cubao venue where Ice’s films premiered during his childhood stardom, and where he was first seen by the nation—before he had language for who he was becoming.

Opening the concert with Pagdating ng Panahon—a song that for decades closed his shows—marks a deliberate shift. Once a symbol of arrival, the song now serves as acknowledgment rather than climax, allowing the rest of the night to move forward into stories that came after fame: survival, quiet work, and authorship.

“For a long time, that song was the ending people waited for,” Ice shares. “Now, I want it to be the beginning—and then let the rest of my story walk out on its own.”

Set in Cubao, the concert traces a full arc that many audiences never saw. After childhood fame receded, this was where Ice stayed—singing in small rooms, performing in showbands, and continuing to work when the spotlight was gone. Those years, often left out of public memory, form the emotional backbone of Being Ice, a concert structured not as a hit parade, but as a memoir told in chapters.

“This isn’t a comeback,” Ice says. “It’s a return to the place that saw everything—including the parts people didn’t clap for.”

As the concert coincides with Valentine’s Month, its growing momentum reflects more than seasonal demand. Audiences are responding to a show that invites connection rather than spectacle—one that treats love not as romance alone, but as endurance, community, and the choice to stay.

Supported by brand partners aligned with the concert’s values of comfort and shared experience, Being Ice: Live! at the New Frontier continues to build anticipation as a one-night-only event rooted in memory, place, and presence.

Twenty-five years after Pagdating ng Panahon, Ice Seguerra returns not to relive an ending—but to finally decide where the story begins.

  • Healing Through Music: ‘The Rose: Come Back to Me’ Captures the Band’s Raw, Unfiltered Story!

Healing Through Music: ‘The Rose: Come Back to Me’ Captures the Band’s Raw, Unfiltered Story!

From their youthful days as hopeful buskers in Hongdae, Seoul in 2012 up to their phenomenal headlining performance at Coachella in 2024, The Rose: Come Back to Me bares the band’s aspirations, struggles and triumphs over the years. Woosung, Dojoon, Hajoon and Taegyeom spilled their hearts out during the commentaries, presenting the unfiltered side of their story as a band. It delves deep into their connection with each other, their music and of course, their fans, the Black Roses. The documentary movie is a compelling watch not only for their fans, but even for plain music enthusiasts.

I’ve seen The Rose live twice. The first time was during We Rose You at the Samsung Hall in 2019 – four Korean guys forming a buzzing rock band. Their stage set-up was similar to that of a bar, a makeshift banner with their band and tour name hanging at the back as their backdrop. Their music were of the pop-rock mold with a slightly sweet K-pop flavor, Woosung’s raspy voice echoing the yearning and angst of early adulthood.

Then, fast forward to 2024: the second time I saw them was during their Dawn to Dusk Tour at Big Dome – a much wider stage with flashy, burning lights matched with massive LED screens projecting animated effects all throughout the show. Their music had evolved significantly – their lyrics were now talking about healing and positivity, their beats and riffs now roaring to launch a whole stadium into a frenzy not far of from an EDM party.

The giant leap in The Rose’s two concerts was always a bit of a mystery to me until I saw the movie. It was, quite simply, the story of how The Rose started as bud blossomed into a mammoth of a flower, spreading out their music into the vast world. Definitely worth a watch!

“The Rose: Come Back To Me” screens exclusively at @AyalaMalls Cinemas from February 14 to 20.

  • A Home for World-Class Filipino Entertainment: The Journey and What’s Next on Netflix in 2026

A Home for World-Class Filipino Entertainment: The Journey and What’s Next on Netflix in 2026

After 10 years of being part of Filipino entertainment culture, Netflix Philippines enters 2026 with a slate that marks a striking new chapter — bigger in ambition, deeper in creative partnerships, and unmistakably Filipino at its core.

What began as a home for global entertainment has evolved into a creative space where local storytellers find new possibilities, and where Filipino audiences see themselves and their stories captured with scale, craft, and heart. We see this in the way Filipinos show up for homegrown stories. Last year alone, over 90% of our members in the Philippines watched local content.

How Netflix Became Part of the Local Story
Over the years, Netflix has evolved from introducing global stories to local audiences to actively supporting Filipino creators in sharing their stories with the world. As our collaborations grew and local creators pushed bolder visions, our audiences made their preferences clear: they want stories that move them, surprise them, and reflect the Filipino experience with authenticity and ambition.

Hit titles like Doll HouseLolo and the KidOutside, and Kontrabida Academy showed how deeply local stories struck a chord with Filipino viewers everywhere and earned global attention. To date, 32 Filipino titles have charted on our Global Top 10 lists.

Within the industry, Netflix’s role evolved, too. We became a steadfast partner — here to invest and here to help local talent tell the stories they’ve long wanted to tell.

Our local approach doesn’t just apply to how we tell stories, but also how we bring the best of local film and television to Filipino audiences. Since 2022, Netflix has premiered episodes of long-running Filipino dramas before they air on free-to-air TV — first with ABS-CBN, then with GMA. It’s a collaboration that gives fans more ways to watch the shows they love, and underscores Netflix’s commitment to strengthening the country’s existing entertainment ecosystem.

“We are excited to continue growing alongside the industry, strengthening partnerships, and supporting more ambitious ideas from script to screen. We continue to bring Filipino stories to the global stage, working with a wide range of creators to showcase the breadth, ambition, and diversity of Filipino storytelling. We are confident viewers will enjoy the varied stories coming to their screens this year, and the many more we look forward to bringing their way,” said Vitto Lazatin, Netflix’s Content Lead for the Philippines and Director of Content Licensing for Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

    Bigger Worlds, Bolder Choices
Bigger and bolder. This is the direction Filipino viewers are pulling the industry toward, and that is exactly where Netflix Philippines’ 2026 slate is headed. For the first time, the lineup introduces five originals — three series and two films — a major jump that pushes genre, scale, and imagination while staying rooted in Filipino heart.

One of our most-awaited releases, BuyBust: The Undesirables reimagines the events after the 2018 film as a full-scale dystopian action series starring Anne Curtis and directed by Erik Matti. With massive sets, large ensemble casts, and its most ambitious production scale to date, the series pushes Filipino action into a new realm.

Tapping into folklore, Balaraw delivers an atmospheric horror-mystery series from director Rae Red, weaving an ensemble story with shades of Lost but grounded entirely in Filipino sensibilities. It’s expansive, unsettling, and unlike anything currently made in Philippine TV.

Capturing the magic of first love, 18th Rose brings a fresh, modern YA romance film to the slate, which has become rare in today’s local market despite clear demand. With a never-before-seen pairing of Xyriel Manabat and Kyle Echarri at its center, it’s charming, youthful, and emotionally resonant.

In Ganito, Ganyan, Ganoon, a family drama with an offbeat twist, a wildly complicated mother anchors a story that is heartfelt, funny, and instantly relatable. The film explores the chaos and warmth of Filipino family life with honesty and edge, led by none other than Jodi Sta. Maria.

Rooted in the country that celebrates Christmas longer than anyone, Paskong Pinoy revives the warmth of classic Filipino holiday storytelling through a simple, feel-good anthology of nostalgia, romance, second chances, and the sweetness of coming home.

Two series are also coming in partnership with our local network partners, premiering three days before free-to-air TV. GMA’s The Master Cutter stars Dingdong Dantes in an action drama about a former scout ranger who now lives a double life — working quietly as a tailor by day, while taking on dangerous bounty hunting jobs on the side. ABS-CBN’s Someone, Someday follows a woman scarred by her past who creates a modern dating app to help women find the right love at the right time. Through the love stories she brings together — and while navigating the challenges in her own life — she begins to rediscover what love truly means for herself. The series stars Kathryn Bernardo and James Reid in a fresh new pairing, alongside Maja Salvador.

Together, these titles reflect the scale, range, and heart of Filipino storytelling — bringing together bold new ideas, familiar genres reimagined, and stories that speak to audiences at home and beyond.

    ANNOUNCE ‘HONNE — 10’, A 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY REIMAGINED ALBUM OUT MAY 15!

FIRST NEWLY RE-RECORDED SINGLE “WARM ON A COLD NIGHT (10 YEARS)” OUT NOW

To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the release of their debut album, HONNE have announced ‘HONNE — 10’, a special re-recording project featuring stripped-back, reimagined versions of some of their most beloved songs. The new 12-track album revisits material from the duo’s first two albums, presenting the songs in an intimate, minimal setting that highlights their lyrics and emotional core, while capturing the honesty and warmth that have defined HONNE’s music over the past decade.

Reflecting on the project, HONNE share: “We’ve been sitting on this for a while, and we’re really excited to finally share it with you. To mark 10 years of HONNE, we went back to the songs that started everything, recording stripped-back acoustic versions from our first two albums. Spending time with these songs again reminded us why we started HONNE in the first place, and why this music still means so much to us.”

Since releasing their first song, “Warm on a Cold Night”, HONNE’s journey has taken them far beyond anything they could have imagined. What began as a single late-night track from humble recording sessions in London quickly grew into a global career, encompassing sold-out tours, multiple albums, and a devoted international fanbase. “’Warm on a Cold Night’ set us off on an incredible journey,” the band add. “It has been the most beautiful adventure, taking us to places we always dreamt of visiting, bringing us immense joy and happiness—not only because we were fulfilling our teenage dreams, but because we could see how much comfort our songs were bringing others.”

The anniversary campaign begins with a newly re-recorded version of the duo’s debut single, “Warm on a Cold Night (10 Years)”, which is out now. “This song always felt jazzy and late-night to us, so we leaned into that feeling with this new version. And yes, a familiar voice returns—our old friend Tommy Inglethorpe.”

The full 12-track album, ‘HONNE — 10’, will be released on May 15, 2026. Looking back on a decade of music, the band add: “We love these songs with all our hearts. They’ve been the soundtrack to our lives for the last 10 years.” The reimagined album stands as both a celebration and a thank you—a reflection of where HONNE began, how far they’ve come, and the deep connection they continue to share with their fans. In addition, HONNE will take these new versions on the road in 2026, with a soon-to-be-announced tour performing a stripped-back and intimate set in seated theatres worldwide.

More details on the release and live dates will be announced soon.
