NCT 127 Connects with Fans in Sold-Out First Solo Manila Concert

The link between NCT 127 and Philippine NCTzens became stronger than ever!

South Korean boy group NCT 127 made a triumphant return to the Philippine concert stage, staging for the first time a solo concert in the country last September 4.

The NCT sub-unit took over the SM Mall of Asia Arena amid the thunderous cheers of NCTzens who patiently waited for the moment to finally happen. The sold-out concert saw thousands of fans gather and color the arena with the neo pearl champagne, bracing the rains and giving their all to warmly welcome Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan for NEO CITY: MANILA – The Link Tour.

    1 2 7 Squad goes wild

NCT 127 opened the highly-anticipated show with the ever-iconic “Kick It”, also marking the first time that the boys performed the song live in front of Filipino NCTzens. The boy group then followed the hyped-up energy with “Lemonade” from their 2021 studio album, Sticker, and “Simon Says” from their 2018 repackaged album, Regulate.

With unwavering energy, the members connected with their Filipino fans with excited greetings and relayed their joy to finally hold a solo concert in the country. Those excited greetings were reciprocated as the cheers of fans echoed loud and clear at the arena with neobongs lighting up the whole venue with their brightest lights.

NCT 127 went on to give NCTzens a concert they will never forget with performances of “Elevator”, “Dreamer”, and “Love Song”. Taeil then took over the concert stage, serenading with his superb vocals in “Another World” before teaming up with Haechan for “Love Sign”. The duo wowed as they collaborated in giving the best vocal show and stage with Taeil on the keyboard and Haechan awing the crowd with his dance. Taeyong, Johnny, Yuta, and Jaehyun took fans back to SM Rookies days with “Run Back 2 U (Bassbot).

The boys came together on stage for “Highway to Heaven” and “Breakfast” with NCTzens singing along and making sure the boys feel all the love that evening. Mark then got Manila screaming his name with his solo performance of “Vibration”. The cheers got louder with leader Taeyong, mesmerizing everyone with his stage of “Moonlight”. The temperature got hotter with Taeyong’s stage and the energy continues to go higher with Mark and Taeyong coming together to spit fire with “Himalaya”.

Jungwoo got the arena high with an immaculate stage of “Lipstick”. Still, not over the fired-up Jungwoo solo stage, the boys gave the crowd every reason to focus on them with “Focus”. But Johnny will not let NCTzens get over the continuous jaw-dropping moments as he goes all out in his solo dance number. Giving fans a moment to collect themselves, Jaehyun took it chill and lovely with “Lost” with the crowd completing the moment as they sing along with him.

No rainy night will ever stop NCTzens from welcoming NCT 127 warmly, and that warmth embraced the arena as the boys serenade with “The Rainy Night”, “White Night”, and “Back 2 U” — amid the beautiful neo pearl champagne ocean. The serenade went on with Doyoung’s solo stage of “The Reason Why It’s Favorite”.

Following the lovely serenades, the members took the energy up with “Favorite”, before bringing the noize louder and more intense with the highly-awaited stages of “Bring the Noize” and the crowd-favorite “Love on the Floor”.

Yuta then closed the set of fired up stages with his solo performance of “Butterfly”, dominating the stage with his expressive moves — truly flying high like a beautiful butterfly.

From NCT 127 to Czennies: Always thankful and I love you

After the sizzling stages, warmth enveloped the arena with the members’ touching messages for their dearest NCTzens. Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan expressed their appreciation to the fans who enabled them to where they are and thanked them for their unwavering support.

Leader Taeyong wrote, “We were able to run even more because of your big love and support.” Maknae Haechan wrote, “I want to say thank you for always being with me through my good times. Let’s make much more memories with me, Haechan, and NCT 127.”

Mark also penned a beautiful letter to NCTzens:

Thank you to all of our NCTzens for being a part our dreams. It’s never a fulfilled show if there’s no NCTzen. So, thank you once again. Hope we can forever stay safe and see each other more often.

    NCT’s Mark

With love overflowing, NCT 127 returned on stage with “Paradise”, gifting the crowd with signed balls as they go around the stage. The most adorable performance of “Touch” came next, followed by “Love Me Know”. Truly the biggest hit on stage, nostalgia washed over with the stage of their legendary “Cherry Bomb”, before ending the concert with “Sticker”.

But a concert never ends without the encore stages. The Link Tour in Manila saw the boys back on stage with “Dreams Come True”. They then delivered their final messages to NCTzens who came to see them back on the Philippine concert stage. The members also promised to return to the country for, not only one but two or more shows as they also express admiration for the crowd’s energy and tireless cheers.

“We had such an amazing night. Even though the pandemic has been hard on everyone, thank you for continuing to support us. We will do our best to come back to Manila. So I hope you are all gonna support us. You are the reason we can be on stage. A big, big thank you, everyone! Thank you,” said Yuta in his final ment.

NCT 127 closed the concert with “Promise You” and a final greeting and bow for their Filipino NCTzens.

NEO CITY: MANILA – The Link Tour was a conclusion to the years of longing for a solo concert for NCT 127. Six years since their debut, the boys, with the unwavering support of NCTzens, came back, bringing their own world tour to the Philippines — truly a dream come true. And NCTzens made sure that Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan feel their happiness and love as they fill the SM Mall of Asia Arena with a sold-out show and color it beautiful with their fandom color — MOA Arena truly turned green that Sunday night. It was beautiful with the strong connection of NCT 127 and NCTzens resonating loudly and clearly.

  • B.I Gifts Fans with Memories to Remember for a Lifetime in Back-to-Back Fan Meetings

B.I Gifts Fans with Memories to Remember for a Lifetime in Back-to-Back Fan Meetings

Words and photos by Danica Lacson

It’s BIN a while, but Filipino IDs’ cosmos came back — B.I came back.

Multi-hyphenated South Korean superstar Kim Hanbin, also known by his stage B.I, made a comeback to the Philippine concert stage with jam-packed shows last August 27 at the New Frontier Theater. Due to the overwhelming love of his fans, the initially one-time-only show turned into back-to-back fan meetings.

The singer-songwriter, who marked his first solo fan meeting in the country via B.I 1ST FAN MEETING [B.I OFFLINE] IN MANILA, expressed happiness and gratitude to Filipino IDs who came to see him and watch him perform live once again. “Hello, Philippines! This is B.I. Really good to see you, guys, again. Long time no see. I love you,” he greeted, adding that he missed his Filipino fans.

The fans reciprocated the sweet words with loud cheers and never-dying down energy that got the K-Pop star saying that Filipino fans are truly the loudest. True enough, Philippine IDs got the New Frontier Theater echoing with resounding cheers of love and admiration for the idol they have waited for and longed to see.

B.I opened the shows with tracks from his debut studio album, Waterfall which was released in 2021. At the 1 p.m. show, the singer-songwriter kicked off the day’s festivity with “Waterfall” and “Illa Illa”, while he changed up the songs’ order in the 7 p.m. show as he started with “Illa Illa”, followed by “Waterfall”.

    All Attention on Kim Hanbin

After the fired-up performances, he slowed it down a bit with a fun game of “What’s in the Box” where he had to guess what is inside the box. But knowing IDs quite well, B.I commented that the crowd will definitely be more interested in the punishments. No lies in there as the cheers grew louder as the singer-songwriter take on every punishment — regardless if he succeeded in guessing or not.

The singer-songwriter showed off his amazing dancing skills and ability to learn choreography fast as he bravely challenged IVE’s “Love Dive” and NewJeans’ “Attention” at the 1 p.m. show and aespa’s “Next Level” and Red Velvet’s “Feel My Rhythm” at the 7 p.m. show. In addition, he also did push-ups! According to him, doing such exercise is easy for him as he does it all the time. He also jumped into the Extraordinary Attorney Woo bandwagon with Philippine IDs where they did their own version of the “Woo to the Young to the Woo” greeting popularized in the drama.

A special recorded interview got everyone exclaiming “cute” with dogs Tan and Milk joining him. During the interview, the K-Pop star talked about various things including music, food, interests, and more. He shared about how invested he is in the bucket list as it puts himself in a new environment and a new situation. According to him, through that, a new inspiration arises. He also shared that for the bucket list, he wishes to try living in Jeju Island for a month or living without cellphone for a month. “I want to visit the guesthouse and relax without thinking about the world and life,” he said.

“Love you to the cosmos and back”: A beautiful due with IDs

B.I returned on stage with “Lover” and “Flame”, tracks from his second studio album, Cosmos. The intensity of the performances resonated in the arena as the rapper did not hold back in giving his all for the stage.

After the impressive stages, he then set aside his cool B.I persona to be everyone’s gentle and sweet boyfriend Hanbin in the “Date Balance” game. For the 1 p.m. show, Philippine IDs gushed at how adorable he was in a duck onesie as he went around the stage hopped in an inflatable unicorn. The 7 p.m. show took fans back to the Joseon era on a date with scholar Kim Hanbin. We are 100 percent sure that following that game, Philippine IDs fell deeper in love with THE KIM HANBIN thanks to being the most considerate and adorable one-day boyfriend for his fans.

But if you think fans cannot fall any deeper in love with him, B.I continued to charm everyone and enchant with his moves and swag in his performance of “BTBT”, a collaboration with Soulja Boy and DeVita released this 2022.

Another collaboration was made that day between B.I and Philippine IDs through a beautiful duet of “Cosmos”. Truly, they are each other’s cosmos as they sing along and light up the New Frontier Theater together.

B.I then performed “Re-Birth”. “Re-Birth is not a farewell nor a one-sided feeling,” he said during the recorded special interview with Tan and Milk when asked on what song would he like to stay in.

And “Re-Birth” took a more emotional meaning that evening as the singer-songwriter personally dedicated it to a Philippine ID who recently passed away. “I was told about someone who should have been here tonight. Out of respect for the privacy of the family, I won’t say much more. The next song is called “Re-Birth”. I dedicate this song for her,” B.I said before singing the song.

Filipino IDs to B.I: “Thank you for finding your way back to us.”

The back-to-back fan meetings of B.I were testaments of the undying and unconditional love and support of his fans who patiently waited and trusted Kim Hanbin and his promise to come back. In a special video presentation at the 1 p.m. show, Filipino IDs relayed a touching message to the singer-songwriter.

We finally crossed over the rough road. In this new road that we’re gonna take, we promise to hold your hands tighter. Because no matter what road you take, Filipino IDs will be with you. There’s no need for you to find us… because we will always come to you first. But thank you for finding your way back to us.

Filipino IDs’ special message to B.I during the 1 p.m. show

Meanwhile, the 7 p.m. show saw fans dedicate a heartwarming song number for B.I which they showed thru a video presentation — “Remember that we are and will be with you no matter what.” The video showed fans’ support to the K-Pop star, as well as, words of thanks dedicated to him. “Thank you for coming back to us.”

    With love,

    Filipino IDs who are here

who are at their home and were not able to join

and Lovely Anne who is now watching us from Heaven

Filipino IDs’ ending video message at the 7 p.m. show

B.I expressed his gratitude to fans for being with him and preparing special messages. He also promised to come back and meet them again with more songs. He added that in autumn, IDs can look forward to a new global EP from him.

B.I closed the show with “Remember Me”, a song from his Waterfall album.

The back-to-back fan meetings were the singer-songwriter’s final shows with Manila serving as the last stop of his fan meeting tour. Truly serving the best for last as the fan meeting events filled our eyes and ears with the best performances by one of K-Pop’s most talented acts and warmed our hearts with the touching love and support of Philippine IDs and B.I to one another.

The B.I 1ST FAN MEETING [B.I OFFLINE] IN MANILA shows deserve to be remembered for a lifetime.

  • Yugyeom Stages the Coolest Friday Party in First Solo Manila Concert

Yugyeom Stages the Coolest Friday Party in First Solo Manila Concert

The week was bearable because the ending is with Yugyeom!

GOT7’s Yugyeom made his solo debut on the Philippine concert stage last August 19 at the New Frontier Theater. Presented by PULP Live World, YUGYEOM LIVE IN MANILA served as the first solo concert of the singer-songwriter in Asia.

    Yugyeom Live in Manila

And it was indeed the debut on the Philippine concert stage and the best capped off the week with Yugyeom and Ahgases teaming up to stage the coolest and most fun Friday party.

DJ Wegun kicked off the night’s happening with a hyped-up DJ set of various songs including GOT7’s best hits. The crowd danced to the beat and jumped along with every song that came on. The energy was truly resonating at the New Frontier Theater that when Yugyeom came on stage, the cheers reached the roof and the energy seemed boundless.

Yugyeom fronted his set with “I Want U Around”, the first track from his first extended play Point of View: U which featured DeVita. And there was no slowing down as the singer-songwriter immediately followed it up with tracks from Point of View: U namely “Running Through the Rain”, “When You Fall”, and “Falling in Love”.

In his introduction ment and amid the “Kim Yugyeom” cheers, the GOT7 member greeted Ahgases with “Mabuhay, Philippines” and his brightest smile — much to the delight of the crowd who have been waiting for his return. He expressed his happiness on seeing a lot of Ahgases.

Truly, it was hard not to fall deeper in love with the GOT7 member who made sure that Ahgases who came to see him that Friday night got to experience the best party as he delivers the smoothest vocals in every performance.

That night was definitely all about Yugyeom. Coming back to the Philippine concert stage after almost three years and after signing with AOMG, the singer-songwriter has definitely grown as an artist and as a performer. And that growth was more evident as, for the first time, he stood on the Philippine concert stage as a solo artist.

He turned the excitement a step higher with “Take You Down”, “Lights”, and “All Your Fault”, before being the cutest tease during the remixed version of Jay Park’s “Mommae” and “All I Wanna Do”. With the smoothest groove and sexiest moves, Yugyeom reminded everyone that he is one of K-Pop’s best dancers.

He was mesmerizing and undeniably captivating as he takes over the stage with effortless charm and talent. He was the best entertainer, turning the venue into a big party where everyone felt free to move to the music, scream loud, and enjoy every bit of the moment. Always ready to perform and always sure to give the best show, Yugyeom continued to captivate with “Always Ready” and “Love the Way”.

But a GOT7 member concert will never be complete without reminding everyone of their roots. The maknae of GOT7 hard carried in his performance of “Hard Carry”. Screams grew louder as the singer-songwriter went around the standing section to interact with fans. He went on to perform “Two” before closing his set with a performance of “1+1”.

Before ending the show, Yugyeom promised to return to the Philippines and sweetly declared his unending support for Ahgases. “I will continue rooting for Philippine Ahgases,” he said. And that love was reciprocated with Philippine Ahgases’ promise that “Ahgase will always hold your hand”.

YUGYEOM LIVE IN MANILA ended with every fan leaving with spirited smiles — happy to see Yugyeom and spend Friday night cheering loud, dancing and singing along, and getting hyped with their fellow Ahgases. Reason #1: Yugyeom Live in Manila is Yugyeom’s FIRST SOLO EVENT in the Philippines

The singer-songwriter has performed in the country a number of times thru GOT7’s fan meetings and concerts. Together with his members, he last visited the country in 2019 for the Keep Spinning World Tour.

But this Friday’s event will mark a special milestone for Yugyeom and Ahgases. Yugyeom Live in Manila will serve as the singer-songwriter’s first solo event in the Philippines. It will also be his first event in the country following his departure from JYP Entertainment and his solo debut.

Reason #2: Get ready for performances of his solo songs!

An exciting show lies ahead of everyone who will attend Yugyeom Live in Manila. The singer-songwriter will fire up the concert stage with performances of his solo songs like “All Your Fault”, “Take You Down”, and “Lights”.

“All Your Fault” served as the title track of his first extended play, Point of View: U, which was released in 2021. Yugyeom took an active part in the writing and composition of the show. The song also featured Korean rapper Gray who also collaborated with him in the lyrics and music of the song.

The prepared stages will definitelt showcase Yugyeom’s artistry and highlight his undeniable talent and creativity in music as he has always been active in writing and composing his own music.

“Take You Down” and “Lights” are another examples of that immeasurable musical talent. The songs, which were released in 2022 as part of the single album, Take You Down, were written and composed by Yugyeom with help from Woogie, Coogie, and DJ Wegun.

Are you ready to here these songs live?

Reason #3: A Memory with Yugyeom and of course, your fellow Ahgases at the Yugyeom Live in Manila!

One of the best parts of any live events is witnessing the beautiful oceans and full-of-effort fan projects of fans. Upping the energy in every event, fans make any show and concert a success and a memory of a lifetime โ€”- not only for the artists but also for their fellow fans.

On Friday, Ahgases will reunite at the New Frontier Theater to show their love and support for their beloved maknae. Create your best memories in the midst of the people that share the same love and passion.

  • Super Junior postpones Manila concert, promises to return

Super Junior postpones Manila concert, promises to return

    Super Junior will come back.

It was a different kind of show that transpired last August 6 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Despite the circumstances, Super Junior stood on stage, personally addressed the situation, and serenaded Philippine ELFs.

On the morning of August 6, 2:06 a.m. Philippine Time, Label SJ released a statement, informing the public of the passing of Eunhyuk’s father.

“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Eunhyuk’s father.” They added, “Due to the sudden news, Eunhyuk was unable to depart for the SUPER JUNIOR WORLD TOUR – SUPER SHOW 9: ROAD IN MANILA concert scheduled for today.” ELFs from all over the world sent their prayers and condolences to Eunhyuk and his family.

At 12:35 p.m. on the same day, Label SJ again came forward to give notice regarding SUPER SHOW 9 IN MANILA slated to take place at 5 p.m. on August 6 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

“First of all, after many long discussions between the promoter and Super Junior members, we both agreed that it will be difficult to properly hold SUPER JUNIOR WORLD TOUR – SUPER SHOW 9: ROAD IN MANILA as scheduled. However, the members wanted to meet and greet the fans who came to Manila to attend the concert, so we’d like to ask everyone with tickets to enter the concert venue on time.”

Full of understanding and respect, Philippine ELFs showed up and came together to relay their sympathy to Eunhyuk and his family by tying black ribbons on their lightsticks. The usual loudness at the arena during concerts turned into a solemn gathering as fans comfort each other and the members.

Kring Kim took the stage to read out PULP Live World and Inang Happee Sy-Go’s statement. “We would like to sincerely thank all ELF who came to SUPER JUNIOR WORLD TOUR – SUPER SHOW 9: ROAD IN MANILA concert here in the MOA Arena today. Marami pong salamat. You are already part of history for coming despite everything that has happened and everything that you know about what’s going on this afternoon.”

And Philippine ELFs assured that they understand and that it’s okay. But Super Junior did not also let the opportunity pass without showing fans their appreciation and gratitude. Members Shindong, Ryeowook, Donghae, Yesung, Kyuhyun, and Leeteuk greeted fans and relayed heartfelt messages of thank you, sorry, and “I love you”.

“This is my first time to have this opening ment. Other than being nervous about performing in front of you. My apologies and sincerest sorry are the expressions I can only give you. And to the member who is facing an unfortunate situation in Korea, Eunhyuk, I am deeply saddened right now. And the situation that we cannot give back the long time that you have waited for us to perform in Manila, the only expression I can tell you is I’m sorry. I promise that we will make sure that we will complete this performance with the complete members of Super Junior next time. Sorry and mahal kita,” said Donghae.

Mabuhay! We actually went through a lot of discussions about whether we should come to Manila or not. But eventually, we decided that we should, of course, meet our ELFs who have waited for us. Arriving here in Manila, we had discussions until 3 a.m., 4 a.m. Our Super Show is happy, fun, and gives you hope. To give you more fun, excitement, and hope, this concert is not canceled, but rather is postponed,” Leeteuk said.

The leader of Super Junior also comforted fans by saying that they can think of it as buying the tickets early. He added that he personally talked to the promoter to hold a two-day concert next time. “To my love ELFs and to our staff, to be all happy, we will come back as soon as possible and greet you again. Here in the center is Siwon and beside me, someone who is like a doppelganger, Eunhyuk,” he said.

To the forever love between Super Junior and ELFs, Shindong, Ryeowook, Donghae, Yesung, Kyuhyun, and Leeteuk serenaded the fans with “My Wish”, “Callin’”, and “More Days with You” as their gift.

The members reiterated their promise to come back and meet their ELFs once again. And Philippine ELFs promised that they will continue walking the flower road with them.

Following the postponement, PULP Live World assured ticketholders that their tickets for the August 6 show will be honored on the later date that will be set. “Detailed explanation on ticket and new show schedule will be announced in the upcoming days. We ask for your understanding with this notice and sincerely appreciate your patience.”

  • 9 Super Junior Songs That will Take You to a Whole Level of Nostalgia

9 Super Junior Songs That will Take You to a Whole Level of Nostalgia

The road to Super Show 9 is about to end as we count three more days before Super Junior returns to Manila!

Since PULP Live World announced the comeback of Super Junior, the OG Hallyu Kings, to the Philippine concert stage, the titos and titas of K-Pop took no time to hide their excitement as the hashtag dedicated to Super Show 9: Road in Manila trended among Philippine Twitter trends following the show’s announcement.

As the days go by and we start the D-3 countdown to show day, take a trip down memory lane with us with a list of Super Junior songs that will make you look back on the years passed and take you on a road of nostalgia.

Super Junior Super Show 9 in Manila

    Song #1: Mr. Simple

    • Mr. Simple, 2011

Super Junior released “Mr. Simple” as the lead single of their fifth studio album of the same name back in 2011 — more than a decade ago. Still, the 85th best-selling single of 2011 in Japan continues to sweep the world and presents the SJ Funky brand that will forever remind us of that era dominated by the boy group.

And the accolades received by “Mr. Simple” were testaments of its influence and success. The song gave Super Junior 11 music show wins and a nomination for Best Dance Performance by a Male Group at the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards. Moreover, its music video earned the boy group the Most Viewed Video of the Year award from YouTube K-Pop Awards.

    Song #2: SPY

    • Spy, 2012

The random play dance on Weekly Idol is a giveaway that seeing Super Junior dance to “SPY” may take a lot of manifestation to happen, but the boys may treat us to a whole different version of the urban dance track.

“SPY” is the second promotional single for Super Junior’s sixth studio album Sexy, Free & Single and the title track of the re-packaged edition of the same name. The song peaked at the 10th spot on Gaon Weekly Digital Singles chart and the 8th spot on Gaon Weekly Online Downloads chart.

    Song #3: Rokkugo (๋กœ๊พธ๊ฑฐ!)

    • Rokkugo, 2007

“Rokkugo (๋กœ๊พธ๊ฑฐ!)” takes us back to 15 years ago, having been released in 2007 by Super Junior-T — the second official subunit of Super Junior and the first idol group that focused on trot music. One of the boy group’s well-known songs, “Rokkugo (๋กœ๊พธ๊ฑฐ!)” became the 16th best-selling record and best-selling single of 2007 in South Korea.

    Song #4: Mamacita

    • Mamacita, 2014

The comeback that marked the return of Leeteuk and Heechul following the end of their mandatory military service, “Mamacita” served as the lead single of the boy group’s seventh studio album, Mamacita, released in South Korea. The song earned Super Junior nine music show wins.

And there is no denying that the song and its iconic “Ayayayaya” will always wake our reflexes and dance along.

    Song #5: Devil

    • Devil, 2015

From Super Junior’s special album, Devil, the song “Devil” marked a milestone for the boy group as it was released in celebration of their tenth anniversary. The trendy and addictive melody of the song was perfectly complimented by the fun choreography.

Appreciating the laidback charms of Super Junior with this performance video of “Devil”:

    Song #6: Black Suit

    • Play, 2017

If “Devil” marked Super Junior’s tenth anniversary, the release of “Black Suit” came in commemoration of the boy group’s 12th anniversary. The song, released on November 6, 2017, served as the title track of their eighth studio album, Play.

The dance-pop song peaked at number eight on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart, while the album peaked at number one on Gaon Weekly Album and number three on Billboard’s Global 200 charts.

    Song #7: Sorry, Sorry

    • Sorry, Sorry, 2009

Initially released as a digital single on March 9, 2009, the forever iconic, forever legendary “Sorry, Sorry” later served as the lead single of Super Junior’s third studio album and the best-selling album of 2009 in South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, China, and the Philippines — Sorry, Sorry.

“Sorry, Sorry” earned Super Junior ten music show wins and received critical and commercial success all over Asia, cementing their position as the Hallyu Kings. Moreover, this particular comeback saw their return as a full group following their sub-unit activities in China and South Korea and their last comeback as 13.

The undeniable cultural impact of “Sorry, Sorry” remains to be felt all over the world even after 13 years since its release. Look back on the legend, the icon “Sorry, Sorry” here:

    Song #8: Bonamana

    • Bonamana, 2010

SJ Funky style continued on in 2010 with “Bonamana”, the title track of Super Junior’s fourth studio album of the same name. With the upbeat, electro-pop song, the boy group took home six music show wins. The release of “Bonamana” came after the success of their Asia tour, Super Show 2, which saw them perform live on the Philippine concert stage for the first time.

    Song #9: Mango

    • The Road: Keep On Going, Vol. 1, 2022

In comparison to the other songs listed on this list, “Mango” is a new addition to the vast and ever-growing discography of Super Junior, being released on July 12 of this year. The song is the lead single of volume one of the boy group’s 11th studio album, The Road: Keep On Going.

Still, “Mango” and other tracks from the new album take ELFs to a different level of nostalgia as it showcases Super Junior’s longevity — the first SM group to release 11 studio albums in South Korea — and promises that Super Junior’s path will continue. The Road: Keep On Going speaks of the boy group’s past, present, and future.

Super Junior Goes on the Road to Manila for โ€œSuper Show 9โ€

Super Junior returns to Manila for their sixth solo concert in the country. Go on the road with them in Super Show 9: Road in Manila, happening at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on August 6 and presented by PULP Live World.

Tickets are available via SM Tickets outlets and online.

  • TREASURE, BamBam, and Jackson Lit Up “2022 K-Pop Masterz” In Manila

TREASURE, BamBam, and Jackson Lit Up “2022 K-Pop Masterz” In Manila

Words and photos by Danica Lacson

A sea of blue and green colored the Mall of Asia Arena for the 2022 K-Pop Masterz in Manila!

K-Pop acts TREASURE and GOT7’s BamBam and Jackson teamed up with Philippine Treasure Makers and IGOT7 in an explosive night of loudest cheers, brightest lights, and heated performances at the 2022 K-Pop Masterz in Manila held at the Mall of Asia Arena last July 29.

Marking PULP Live World’s first K-Pop concert in the Philippines after two years since the pandemic, the concert went all out in giving K-Pop fans the best concert experience with an outstanding lineup of artists, the ultimate stage design, raffled perks, and so much more. Moreover, it also marked significant “firsts” for all three acts — TREASURE’s first overseas performance since their debut and BamBam and Jackson’s first performances as solo artists in the Philippines.

“What’s up, Manila!”: TREASURE debuts on the Philippine concert stage

With exploding energy, excitement, and thundering “What’s up, Manila”, Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Junkyu, Yoshi, Jaehyuk, Asahi, Doyoung, Haruto, Jeongwoo, and Junghwan opened the concert with “Jikjin”, the title track of their first extended play. The Second Step: Chapter One. The boy group followed it up with “I Love You” before taking a moment to introduce themselves and trying their best to communicate to Filipino Teuems in the local language. And love was truly felt, as Teumes and Ahgases came together to sing Jaehyuk a “Happy Birthday”. Jaehyuk turned a year older last July 23.

On a mission to make the night a memory of a lifetime, TREASURE turned up the energy with a dazzling performance of “My Treasure” and a fiery stage of “MMM”. They then ignited their competitive spirits in a game of One Body, One Soul. Divided into Team Mahal Kita (Hyunsuk’s team) and Team Gwapo (Jihoon’s team), the members tested their teamwork as they act out the words ballet, gwiyomi, selfie pose, Michael Jackson, baseball, sexy, heart, and Beyonce. But the competition was intense that they had to battle it out with a tiebreaker game of ddakji between the youngest members Jeongwoo and Junghwan.

After the intensity of the games, TREASURE wasted no time, giving the crowd live performances of “Boy”, their debut song, and a rock version of “Darari”. The boys ended their set with the sweetest thank yous and mahal kita, reciprocated with loud cheers from the audience.

Tagay, shot puno with BamBam at the 2022 K-Pop Masterz in Manila

Still high from TREASURE’s performances, the 2022 K-Pop Masterz in Manila gave the audience no time to catch their feels and calm themselves as GOT7’s BamBam soon took over the Philippine concert stage with “Wheels Up”, “Ride or Die”, and “Looks so Fine”.

“It feels really good to be back in Manila after four years! I have one thing to say: skrrt skrrt!” BamBam greeted Philippine Ahgases.

The Thai singer continues his “shot puno” agenda, even going as far as naming a Manila night market he said he will build if he won the lottery as the “BamBam shot puno“. After staying for a while in the Philippines, the GOT7 member earned a new nickname “BamBam bangus” or “Bamgus”, a combination of his name and his now-favorite fish, milkfish or bangus.

BamBam really made the wait more worth it as he keeps his promise to sing the full version of Ronnie Liang’s “Ngiti“. He later uploaded his cover on his Instagram as a way of saying thank you to Manila.

And the smiles continued on in his “Who Are You” and “Pandora” performances. But the surprise did not stop! The GOT7 member called over the Pambansang Krung-Krung ng Pilipinas and 2NE1’s Sandara Park on stage.

“First of all, welcome to my second home, BamBam!” said Dara who came to support her labelmates. Three years since her last visit to the country, Dara also relayed how much she missed Filipinos. “Namiss ko kayong lahat,” she remarked. Being always game, the singer-actress heeded BamBam’s request to perform on stage. The 2NE1 member serenaded the crowd with the group’s classic “I Don’t Care” in an acoustic version.

With BamBam and Dara sharing the stage, the GOT7 member closed his set with “riBBon”.

The MAGIC MAN was here: Jackson returns to Manila, bringing new songs for Filipino fans

Completing the night, Jackson followed his groupmate’s BamBam set, setting the arena into a frenzy as he debuts his newly released singles, “Cruel” and “Blow”, from his upcoming album, Magic Man. Truly an unforgettable evening, the GOT7 member gave the Philippines a first taste of the live performances of more songs from his upcoming album. Proving once again what a performer he is, he wowed with “Blue” and “Drive It Like You Stole It”.

Jackson also relayed his admiration for Filipino fans and their passionate spirit in giving support. “The passion is on another level. When they cheer for you, you know they mean it,” he said. He added, “If you have 100, they give you 100.”

The 2022 K-Pop Masterz in Manila gave opportunities to the fans to get to know the Magic Man better thru a brief interview on stage with host Kring Kim. Jackson talked about Team Wang Design, a luxury streetwear label he founded. According to the singer and creative genius, he loves creating and the streetwear label is one of his creations. Team Wang Design embodies the slogan, “Know yourself, Make your own history.” — a slogan that also reflects Jackson’s advice to aspiring artists, encouraging them to find their own route.

Closing the 2022 K-Pop Masterz in Manila, Jackson left the crowd with his performance of his 2020 single “100 Ways”.

    PULP is back!

The 2022 K-Pop Masterz in Manila kicks off PULP Live World’s K-Pop concert for 2022. Truly a return with a bang, the concert created a beautiful sea of blue and green colors and memories of a lifetime shared by Teumes and Ahgases. It was a momentous event that brought together TREASURE, BamBam, and Jackson and Philippine Teumes and Ahgases to light up the Mall of Asia Arena.

And the concert is only the start as PULP promises more exciting events, and the best shows, not only for K-Pop fans but also for rock and metal fans this 2022. So, fans all over the country, brace yourself for Super Junior, All Time Low, GOT7’s Yugyeom, The Maine, (G)I-DLE, Boys Like Girls, TXT, and so much more, including to-be confirmed dates for Running Man, One Ok Rock, and Slipknot.

  • BamBam gives the best fan service in Cebu and Manila fansign events

BamBam gives the best fan service in Cebu and Manila fansign events

Words and photos by Danica Lacson

The King of Fan Service was here!

Global superstar and GOT7 member BamBam gave Philippine Ahgases a week-to-remember with back-to-back events in the country.

The Thai singer kicked off his busy week in the Philippines with a fansigning event last July 26 at The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu — the first ever fansigning event by a K-Pop artist in the Queen City of the South. Ahgases who participated in the event enjoyed a fun day as the GOT7 member did not hold back in giving them the best fansign experience.

Aside from requesting that the acrylic barrier separating him from fans be removed, BamBam also gamely granted fans’ requests, including saying “Forda gwapo this person” and hopping into the Extraordinary Attorney Woo trend. Truly the king of fan service, the GOT7 member treated everyone at the venue with a surprise performance of “riBBon”, the title track of his first extended play of the same name.

Following Cebu, BamBam flew to Manila to meet Ahgases at the fansigning event at the Activity Center, Ayala Malls Manila Bay last July 28. But prior to the main event, the singer granted members of the press the chance to ask questions and know him more thru the press conference.

From Cebu to Manila, BamBam and Ahgases go shot puno!

BamBam talked about eating bangus and sisig (That day’s TMI? He went to the comfort room thrice already thanks to the spicy sisig he had the night before.) He also gave a peak of his pre-show ritual which includes drinking Red Bull or sometimes, tequila.

The GOT7 member even hinted that a new album is in the works. “My next album, I am working on it. This time, it’s not so bright. I think you guys can see something new from me and that is a really big project right now in my company,” he shared. He also wanted to collaborate with his good friend and Filipino singer-actor James Reid.

Aside from music, BamBam talked about the character he wished to play in a drama. Initially unsure as he said he is bad at acting, the singer still considered that he wants to play a bad boy or playboy character.

Having debuted in 2014 with GOT7, BamBam is celebrating eight years in the industry. He shared how much he changed since his debut especially since going solo and also gave words of advice to aspiring artists — “Be yourself. Never give up.”

And just like in Cebu, the singer made sure that Ahgases went home with the biggest smiles on their faces and the best stories to share with the sweetest fan service. BamBam was all smiles in meeting and conversing with fans, holding their hands and heeding requests to “shot puno“.

Indeed, the GOT7 member made the years of waiting for Philippine Ahgases worth it with his generosity and lovable personality. The back-to-back fansign events were truly an experience to keep as vividly as possible in memories as another waiting game begins for BamBam’s return as he has promised.

Special thanks to CDM Entertainment for the invitation.

    Youngjae day indeed!

South Korean singer-actor and GOT7 member Youngjae gave Philippine Ahgases the best memories last July 23 at the New Frontier Theater as he spends the day with them in back-to-back events.

The GOT7 member met his fans again through his first solo events in the country — 2022 YOUNGJAE MINI CONCERT: โ€˜SUGARโ€™ IN MANILA and ‘SUGAR’ FANSIGN IN MANILA. It was a delightful, nostalgic, and unforgettable experience for all attendees as the singer-actor did not hold back in creating special moments with his fans.

The mini concert kicked off with thundering cheers, welcoming Youngjae’s performance of “Tasty” from his first extended play Colors from Ars. The energy inside the New Frontier Theater continued to go up as the GOT7 member followed up “Tasty” with “Focus”, one of the tracks from his newest release, Sugar. He then went to greet his Filipino fans and enthusiastically played the “Guess the Song” and “Yes or No” games with them.

The singer also recounted his experience of eating Jollibee — a recommendation from Filipino Ahgases. According to him, he found it delicious. He also remarked that he enjoyed some leisure time and relaxed, including going for a swim. “The weather was so nice,” he added.

Talking about his radio program, GOT7 Youngjae’s Best Friend, Youngjae, who started hosting the program in March 2022, shared that he considers all episodes memorable. He also gifted fans with a short rendition of “Wait For You” by Elliott Yamin. The singer-actor said he will never forget the lyrics of “Wait For You” as it is a song he had sung a lot of times. In addition, he considers Elliott Yamin an integral part of his artistry as he was an artist that helped him find his color.

Youngjae shared that hearing the cheers of Filipino Ahgases reminded him that the cheers and screams from Filipino fans were really, really loud and crazy. And indeed, the crowd did not hold back in showing their love for the GOT7 member. Louder cheers and applause resonated in the venue when he performed his title tracks “Vibin’” from Colors from Ars and “Sugar” from the album of the same name.

More than the cheers, Filipino Ahgases also gifted Youngjae with a touching video message and banner project. “IGOT7 is always with you,” read the banners raised during the mini concert.

The singer-actor relayed his gratitude to fans and reciprocated the love with performances of “Crema” and GOT7 hits “NANANA” and “Girls Girls Girls”. He even roamed around the venue and interacted with the audience during “Girls Girls Girls”.

Part II: Sugar Fansign in Manila

After the mini concert, lucky fans got the chance for a photo opportunity with Youngjae and participate in the send-off session. But the day was far from over. Following the mini concert, the singer-actor returned for the fansign event where he conversed with fans and granted their requests.

Chosen fans also got the chance for a photo opportunity. Top spenders also took selfies with Youngjae — a memory of a lifetime indeed! The event ended with a goodbye session with fansign attendees.

An eventful day filled with the best memories from the sweetest man, Youngjae! July 23 was truly a day to remember thanks to Ahgases and Youngjae — the last one to leave and the first to come back.

Special thanks to CDM Entertainment for the invitation to the events.

Spring bloomed beautifully in Manila thanks to Yerin!

South Korean singer Yerin returned to the Philippines for a special meeting with her Filipino fans. The GFriend member reunited with her local fans in the “Aria” Fansign in Manila event held at the Gateway Mall Cineplex 5 last July 22, making her the first K-Pop star to hold such an event.

With much warmth, Yerin greeted the event attendees in Filipino and Korean. “Hi, everybody! I am Yerin. Have you been well? I missed you so much,” she said.

Lucky fans got the chance to converse with her and go home with a signed album. Excitement with a tinge of nervousness filled Cineplex 5 as fans await their turn for a one-on-one moment with the singer.

And indeed, opportunities were not missed to make sure that Yerin feels all the love from the Philippines with constant cheers and compliments from the audience and sweet gifts — including beers and bucket hats — from the fansign participants. “It’s nice to see that beer can after a long time,” she remarked.

Yerin also sweetly relayed how much she missed her Filipino fans and her desire to talk more with them as there are so many things she wants to say. “It’s very nice to see you all and be able to talk to you,” she added.

Chosen fans got to take part in a photo opportunity with Yerin, while top spenders got the chance of a lifetime — a selfie with Yerin. Everyone also participated in a goodbye session at the end of the event.

Philippine Buddies: “For the past 7 years, thank you…”

As a special gift for Yerin, her Philippine Buddies prepared a heartwarming video message and banner project for her.

“For the 7 years of love, hard work, and friendship, thank you for giving us hope. Thank you for bringing us happiness. Thank you for keeping our promise to meet again.”

The Yerin โ€œAriaโ€ Fansign in Manila was an intimate gathering that gave the GFriend member and fans an opportunity to create lasting memories with each other through one-on-one conversations, photo opportunities, and a goodbye session.

Special thanks to CDM Entertainment for the invitation to the event.
