  • The Rest Is Noise celebrates 10 years with All Of The Noise 2025: A landmark music and culture summit

The Rest Is Noise celebrates 10 years with All Of The Noise 2025: A landmark music and culture summit

The two-day program will feature documentary screenings, panel discussions, keynote presentations, an exhibit, and a live music showcase featuring more than 16 music acts from the Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand.

The Rest Is Noise (TRIN), a music curation and events production outfit based in the Philippines, will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with the return of All Of The Noise 2025. The two-day live music and culture event will take place at Astbury Makati from April 4 to 5, 2025. With a focus on music discovery, cross-cultural dialogue, and creative networking, this year’s edition aims to champion the diverse music communities in the Philippines and Asia while also promising an unforgettable experience for artists, fans, and industry professionals alike.

All Of The Noise 2025 expands on its 2019 programming, offering multi-format activities, including music-themed documentary screenings, panel discussions, and keynote presentations in the morning and afternoon, followed by a live music showcase each evening. The event will highlight critically acclaimed and up-and-coming musicians from the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Indonesia, as well as a special exhibit presenting the work of Karen De La Fuente, a prominent music photographer based in Manila.

“As we celebrate 10 years of The Rest Is Noise, we wanted to highlight what helped us reach this milestone in the first place, which is our community,” says MC Galang, co-founder and creative director of TRIN. “It started here at home, with the belief, support, and collaboration of music artists who were at the forefront of the events we’ve put together over the years, but also early on, I think unconsciously, we’ve known and therefore sought people from outside Metro Manila who are doing the same thing we’re doing, and we did, first in Visayas and Mindanao, then eventually in Southeast Asia, the rest of Asia, and all over the world.”

Originally conceived as a year-end, midsized music festival, the third iteration of All of the Noise 2025 expands on its 2019 multi-format programming to hone in on TRIN’s brand of curation to import Asian indie acts and eventually begin exporting Filipino music talent via the team’s capacity as co-founders, producers, and programmers of the intraregional AXEAN Festival.

Galang adds, “This year’s programming, I think, is the best we’ve conceptualized so far. I wouldn’t say it was the easiest, but I think it was just a natural progression and a mirroring of our combined, individual careers so far. The live music program is obviously a crucial mainstay of any production we’ll do, championing exciting newcomers and established indie acts that have showcased their talents abroad, as well as exceptional musicians from Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia.”

    Live Music Programming

The live music showcase will feature co-headlining performances from Taiwanese soft-rock band The Chairs, Thai alt-pop band KIKI, Singaporean hip hop artist San The Wordsmith, and Indonesian experimental electronic act Logic Lost. Joining them on stage will be the Philippines’ very own ena mori, SOS, Pedicab, Waiian, and obese.dogma777.

The event will also put a spotlight on Cebu-based artists Mandaue Nights and IIICCCYYY, as well as the debut of Paul Yap (UDD) and Mario Consunji (Musical O)’s collaborative music project Double Shy. Additional performers include Cheeky Things, Pette Shabu, Pixie Labrador, SVATG, and Fashion Island.

    Music Conference

All Of The Noise brings back the conference program, Cut Through The Noise, expanded from its 2019 edition. This year’s multi-format showcase summit will feature dynamic and engaging panel discussions and keynote presentations that explore important topics relevant to the local and regional music scene, providing a platform for diverse voices and narratives from niche music communities.

Each panel will have a moderator and resource speakers who will discuss each respective topic, providing insights and expert opinions. Panelists and speakers will be announced in the coming days.

    The topics will include:

    · Bisdak! VisMin Music Community and Decentralizing OPM Narratives & Opportunities (April 4)
    · Music Showcase & Creative Industry Development: A Career-Building Guide (April 4)
    · Empowering Queer Visibility and Imagery in Pinoy Music (April 5)
    · Brash Maximalism: ‘Budots’ and the Global Future of Pinoy Electronic Music (April 5)

    Music-themed Documentary Screenings

For the first time ever, the AOTN programming will feature screenings of two multi-awarded documentaries: Budots: The Craze by Jay Rosas and Mark Limbaga on April 4, and Jingle Lang Ang Pahina by Chuck Escasa on April 5.

The music-themed films will tackle the early phenomenon of budots, the grassroots electronic music movement that started in Davao City, and the legacy of Jingle magazine, one of the pioneering music publications in the Philippines. Following the screenings, the filmmakers will participate in a talkback session, providing a unique opportunity for attendees to engage with the creators.

    Exhibit

A key highlight of the event will be an exhibit featuring the work of Karen De La Fuente, a renowned photographer who has captured some of the most iconic Filipino musicians at their most vulnerable, most exhilarating state of live performance. De La Fuente is the former creative director of Ben&Ben, and she has worked with some of the most important music acts and entertainers of the past decade.

    More Community Partnership and Support

All Of The Noise 2025 is co-presented by Astbury Makati, an independent culture hub and private members club where the creative, cerebral, and social shift the status quo, and Symphonic Distribution, one of the leading independent music distribution and marketing companies in the industry.

Guji Lorenzana, Asia Territory Manager, A&R Business Development of Symphonic Distribution expresses the company’s commitment to empowering independent artists and fostering diverse voices in the music industry through supporting this year’s edition of All Of The Noise 2025. “While we expand into Asia, we aim to bring our global experience, personalized support, and cutting-edge solutions to local artists and labels. We believe in the power of collaboration and are excited to work alongside AOTN to celebrate diverse voices and movements in music.”

Karen Gil-Velasco, The Astbury Executive Director, also shares her excitement to co-host All Of The Noise 2025 in Astbury Makati, which is located in one of Makati’s most vibrant creative districts, Poblacion.

“The combination of panel discussions, documentary screenings, exhibits, and live music—which is so diverse and representative of so many genres and fans—is a great way to celebrate such a significant milestone. These are the types of shows we love hosting at the club—informative, thought-provoking, and, of course, a great time with so many talented people all in the same space.”

Gil-Velasco adds, “The Astbury is a club that always seeks to support the spirit of independent culture and creativity. Having a suite of versatile spaces ranging from our cozy Cafe for the more relaxed panel discussions to our underground Gallery as the backdrop for live music, we are able to help bring All Of The Noise’s vision of a festival with so many ways to celebrate groundbreaking local and international musical expression.”

  • ALAMAT Celebrates 4 Years with Anniversary Gig for Magiliw

ALAMAT Celebrates 4 Years with Anniversary Gig for Magiliw

Multilingual and multicultural Pinoy pop group ALAMAT celebrated their fourth anniversary with their fanbase, Magiliw, through a special event gig at Viva Cafe in Cubao, Quezon City, on February 22 and 23.

Formed by Viva Artist Agency and Ninuno Media, ALAMAT debuted on February 14, 2021, with their first track, “Kbye.” Composed of members Taneo, Mo, Jao, Tomas, R-Ji, and Alas, ALAMAT reflected on another year of hard work, passion, and success.

During the two-day event, Legends of P-Pop and “Maharani” hitmakers performed many of their songs for their fans, including “Day and Night,” “Noli,” “Dayang,” “Sa Panaginip Na Lang,” “Champorado,” “Aswang,” and their latest releases “Hiraya” and “Sa’yo Pa Rin Uuwi.”

ALAMAT members are always truly handa to harap the crowd, and their fans were in for a treat with solo performances as well.

In a Q&A session, the 6inoos opened up about their struggles and how these challenges helped them grow. The group reflected on how they were just starting to build their chemistry while also discovering themselves as artists. “Hahanapin mo talaga kung sa’n ka mag-fi-fit…pa’no ka magmo-morph para mabuo ‘yung puzzle,” ALAMAT Taneo said.

Similarly, ALAMAT Jao shared how music served as an instrument to enhance their unity and connection as a group. “Although the identity is always already there, it’s the part where we need to work together since magkakaiba-iba talaga kami ng personalities,” he said. “Every time we perform, doon namin talaga nafi-feel like [we are] one,” he added.

Meanwhile, ALAMAT Alas said that it took him a while to overcome his self-doubt. “Wala akong tiwala sa sarili ko, sa talent, sa skills. Minsan hindi ako naniniwala na ‘Uy! Producer pala ako,’” he said and shared that Mo always reminds him of how valuable he is to the group, and when it’s time to “use our Alas.”

ALAMAT Mo also became a little emotional during the interview and emphasized that the most important lesson he has learned is that it is okay to be vulnerable. “Sobrang laking tulong din no’ng nag-uusap kami, nag-o-open up kami. Ma-di-discover mo rin talaga ‘yung sarili mo,” he said. ALAMAT Mo also shared what he wrote in his journal this 2025: “Sabi ko, ‘This 2025,’ nilagay ko do’n, ‘maging estudyante ng buhay araw-araw.’”

ALAMAT R-Ji was also teasing ALAMAT Tomas, saying that “Sa aming anim, siya ang pinakamababaw ang luha.” Given the chance to give his message, ALAMAT Tomas thanked every Magiliw for their support. “Isa lang ang goal namin, makita ‘yung mga ngiti sa mukha niyo,” he said while he was in tears.

Sending their messages of love and support to ALAMAT, Magiliw Philippines surprised the group with a Fan Project Video. This was followed by a message from their fans from Indonesia who were happy to finally have met ALAMAT.

The anniversary gig concluded with a Hi-Touch session where Magiliws had the chance to meet the 6inoos and interact with them up close.
