  • Song Hye-kyo is ready for revenge in the Glory Part 2 trailer.

Song Hye-kyo is ready for revenge in the Glory Part 2 trailer.

The story of a tragic quest for revenge continues in “The Glory Part 2,” coming to Netflix on March 10th.The question of whether or not Moon Dong Eun will eventually achieve her glory.

    Courtesy of Netflix

The main trailer and poster for The Glory part 2 have been released. This event will signal the beginning of Dong Eun’s vengeance, which she has been plotting her entire life to carry out.

The main poster captivates viewers’ eyes with Dong-eun’s chilling words: “Welcome to my hell.” The perpetrators of Dong-eun’s childhood violence and their other victims, who have become entangled in the web of vengeance spun by Dong-eun, stand in a trumpet flower-covered forest that alludes to the Garden of Eden – the symbol of good and evil. This picturesque image piques viewers’ curiosity about what will happen to the band of victims who have decided that they will no longer tolerate the pain inflicted by the perpetrators.

Moon Dong-eun, played by Song Hye-kyo, is seen in the trailer plotting her next move and facing Park Yeon-jin, who was formerly her tormentor and is portrayed by Lim Ji-yeon.

While they were in high school, Yeon-jin and a group of her wealthy friends were mean to Dong-eun. They abused her both mentally and physically throughout the ordeal. But, even now that they are adults, they do not feel any regret for the things that they did while they were students.

It would appear that Dong-spiteful eun’s plan is becoming more sinister as she works toward inflicting psychological suffering on Yeon-jin.

The unveiled main trailer captures tense scene after tense scene, without a single shot to overlook. The shamelessness of the perpetrators who know no guilt or remorse, but rather doubt each other in their blind pursuit of their own footing, make the viewers’ blood boil. All eyes are on whether Dong-eun will get her revenge as the trailer implies that the victims face challenges. The Glory Part 2 invites the viewers worldwide to wonder whether she has finally found her ‘glory’ after her lifetime revenge has settled.

With the release of the main poster and trailer placing it at the center of attention, Part 2 of The Glory will be available on March 10, only on Netflix.

Both celebrations honor her 25th anniversary in the local music scene as a woman who successfully navigated the realm of Pinoy rock with emotionally resonant songwriting and artistic independence.
Presenting a new arrangement of her old and new songs, Barbie Almalbis’ Greatest Hits live album was produced by Eric and Carlo Perlas of Tower of Doom, recorded by Kyle Cayton, and mixed/mastered by Simon Durias. It will also feature career-defining hits such as “Firewoman,” “Torpe,” “Tabing Ilog,” “The Dance,” “Goodnight,” and “Just A Smile,” along with fairly new tracks: “Days Are Long,” “Silaw,” “Tigre,” and “Kumpas,” the album’s carrier single.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to record our songs live because we’re always rearranging songs as a band, and I think there’s something special that gets captured when we play live together,” Almalbis shares. “My producers and collaborators did such a great job of making you feel like you’re at the gig. You can feel the power of the kick drum and the bass, and then have guitars blasting in your ear — in a pleasant way, of course.”

Aside from the release of Tower Sessions Live on digital platforms, Barbie Almalbis is set to headline her 25th Anniversary concert at 123 Block, Mandala Park on March 11 (Saturday), from 2 p.m. onwards. Celebrating the impact of her music as a guide to many people’s journey in life, the show will reunite her with former bandmates in Hungry Young Poets and Barbie’s Cradle.

Aptly titled Firewoman: 25 Years of Barbie Almalbis, the mini-music fest will also feature sets by some of the country’s finest acts, including Sandwich, Gab Alipe of Urbandub, Clara Benin, I Belong To The Zoo, Kai del Rio, and Bird.

Reflecting on her career as an artist, Almalbis expressed gratitude to her fans who have been supportive of her endeavors through the years. “I didn’t have so many plans growing up, but always just dreamt of playing music. I’m so grateful that I get to do this and share the experience with others too. I’m always touched by the support of my fans and friends, and really humbled and encouraged by their words and stories about how these songs have also become part of their journey.”

Barbie Almalbis’ Tower Sessions Live is now available on all digital platforms worldwide under Sony Music Entertainment.

Tickets to her upcoming concert, Firewoman: 25 Years of Barbie Almalbis are available for purchase via TicketMelon. The event is presented by GNN Entertainment Productions, in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment, Backspacer Records, JB Music, Nova Wellness Store, D&D, Smirnoff Mule, and 123 Block.

  • Regino dedicates his self-composed song “Idolo” to April Boys fans

Regino dedicates his self-composed song “Idolo” to April Boys fans

Singer-songwriter JC Regino, the only son of hitmaker “Idol” April Boy Regino, collaborates with April Boy’s two brothers Vingo and Jimmy in releasing the latest single under GMA Music titled ‘Idolo.’

JC wrote the song six months after his father passed away, but he wasn’t able to finish it. Then after his birthday last year, he was missing his dad so much, and he remembered the song. That’s when everything came to him, and he was able to finish the song in September 2022.

According to JC, he wrote ‘Idolo’ to give thanks to his dad’s fans for the neverending love and support they’ve given and shown to the April Boys, that without them, there would have been no April Boys. He feels that the fans/supporters deserve to have a song dedicated to them.

Tune in to JC Regino and the April Boys ‘Idolo’ which will be available on all digital streaming platforms worldwide on February 24.

  • Netflix Shares Second Trailer and Poster for Kill Boksoon

Netflix Shares Second Trailer and Poster for Kill Boksoon

Kill Boksoon is another amazing Korean film to be released on Netflix. Since it will make its world premiere at the 73rd International Film Festival in Berlin, it is sure to be a hit. In recent years, Korean films and dramas have established solid footings in international markets and won widespread acclaim. The director and cast of Kill Boksoon, from all appearances, will be welcome additions to the canon of excellent Korean entertainment already in existence.

It’s not only that there have been better thriller films released recently. Next to the horror genre, this one has experienced the most obvious progress in terms of plot, directing, and camerawork. Kill Boksoon’s cast and gory plot are meant to contribute to the genre’s ascent.

The released second trailer explicitly portrays Boksoon’s dual life as an ordinary mom and an A-list killer, showing strongly contrasting scenes of her grocery shopping to sharp transition into her life as an assassin backed by suspenseful and intense BGM.

Gil Boksoon using weapons from axes to long swords, glass cups, ropes, guns, etc., to fight her opponents provide a tease into the dynamic action sequence that will take place in the film.

Meanwhile, the appearance of characters Han Hee-sung (Koo Kyo-hwan), a killer who is unrecognized as an A-list, and Cha Min-hee (Esom), Cha Min-kyu’s younger sister and director of MK Ent, adds spice to the plot and doubles its tension.

The second poster revealed along with the trailer shows Gil Boksoon (Jeon Do-yeon) holding a bloody ax in one hand as if she had just completed “work” she had been commissioned to do, and on the other, a bag of groceries as if she had gone grocery shopping like any other loving mother. Gil Boksoon’s items that hint at her ‘double life,’ as seen from the second poster, spark curiosity about which path she’ll take as she stands at the crossroads of her career as a professional killer and her responsibilities as a mom.

Jeon Do-yeon portrays Gil Boksoon in Netflix’s Kill Boksoon. Famous Korean actress Do-yeon won the Best Actress award at the 60th Cannes Film Festival for her performance in Secret Sunshine. The actor was also the first Korean to win an award in this category at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. You are My Sunshine and Untold Scandal are only two of the movies where she shined. In addition to these, she also appeared in the 2021 suspense film Emergency Declaration, which premiered at Cannes that year.

Kill Boksoon has viewers worldwide focused with its star ensemble cast from Jeon Do-yeon to Sul Kyung-gu, Kim Si-A, Esom, and Koo Kyo-hwan. The production is spearheaded by Director Byun Sung-hyun known for his stylish directing, unrivaled character narrative, and solid storytelling.

In the movie, Koo Kyo-hwan, who is known for his role in Parasite, plays Gil Boksoon’s rival. Gil Boksoon’s bosses are played by E Som, who is known for his role in Samjin English Company Class, and Sul Kyung-gu, who is known for his role in Kingmaker. The actor Kang Soo-yeon is also in the movie, and he was in the Netflix movie Jung E, which came out in January. The actor Hwang Jung-min, who will be in Netflix’s Narco-Saints in 2022, will also have a cameo in the movie. Byung Sung Hyun is in charge of the movie. He is best known for making The Merciless and the political thriller Kingmaker, both of which came out in 2022.

Kill Boksoon unfolds only only on Netflix, on March 31st.

  • Barbie Almalbis reunites with Hungry Young Poets and Barbie’s Cradle for a 25th Anniversary concert

Barbie Almalbis reunites with Hungry Young Poets and Barbie’s Cradle for a 25th Anniversary concert

Barbie Almalbis is set to perform some of the most notable hits of her career in three separate sets.

Filipino alt-rock icon Barbie Almalbis celebrates her 25th year in the music industry with a concert chronicling her career as an artist who helped build Pinoy rock into what it is today: borderless and constantly evolving, shattering the assumption that the movement is “a Man’s Man’s World.”

Aptly titled Firewoman: 25 Years of Barbie Almalbis, the show will reunite two of her supergroups, Hungry Young Poets and Barbie’s Cradle for a special moment filled with vigor, nostalgia, and appreciation. Almalbis will be performing some of the biggest and most notable hits of her career in three separate sets: as a frontwoman of the aforementioned bands, and as a solo artist who managed to make a name for herself.

“While this is truly a dream for me, it was GNN Entertainment Productions who first believed it could happen and conceptualized the show,” the Tabing Ilog hitmaker reveals. “We reached out Ricci Gurango, Franklin Benitez, Rommel de la Cruz, Wendell Garcia, and Kakoy Legaspi, and we’re delighted that they were all excited to do it too. Ricci, who now lives in the US, is coming home to the Philippines for the show.”

    Barbie Almalbis

Firewoman: 25 Years of Barbie Almalbis was conceived last year to honor the award-winning singer-songwriter’s contribution to OPM, and to celebrate her staying power with anthems that proved to be impactful to listeners of all ages.

“I’m just so excited to play alongside some of my old friends, who also happen to be some my favorite musicians,” Almalbis shares in an official press statement. “We have so many great memories, making music, touring, and growing up together. They’ve taught me so much over the years. I’m just so grateful for this opportunity to jam with all of them on the show. I’m also looking forward to sharing the stage with many other artists I admire.”

The event is set to take place at 123 Block in Mandala Park on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 2 p.m. onwards. It will also feature performances by some of the country’s finest acts, including Sandwich, Gab Alipe of Urbandub, Clara Benin, I Belong To The Zoo, Kai del Rio, and Bird.

Almalbis also attributes her success as a musician, a woman, and a person of influence to her team’s dedication and hard work.

She adds, “I’m so grateful to be still playing, making music, and enjoying it a lot. It helps that I’m not doing it alone: my husband, who also loves music, helps me, especially during times when I find it hard to write. He’s a constant sounding board for ideas. Our daughter Stina has been joining in a lot lately too. I’m also so grateful for an excellent team: our manager Tommy, our road manager Morris, and the band: Karel, Nikko, and Jonard. And of course, the one who holds the whole thing together. So much of my career was something I didn’t plan, so I always do my best to look to God and follow where he takes me. Music is such a gift; I’m praying I get to do it until I’m old and gray.”

Firewoman: 25 Years of Barbie Almalbis is presented by GNN Entertainment Productions, in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment, Backspacer Records, JB Music, Nova Wellness Store, and 123 Block.

Tickets to the show are available for purchase starting February 13 (Monday) at 6pm via TicketMelon.

Variety and reality programs are among the most popular forms of entertainment in Korea, and it’s been great to see non-Korean viewers on Netflix fall in love with K-Content enthusiasts and learn about these groundbreaking shows. In 2023, Netflix will double the number of Korean reality programs it has made available since 2022, from four to eight. Korean reality shows on Netflix cover a wide variety of genres, from action to romance to zombies.

“One of the unique characteristics of our unscripted shows is that, unlike TV broadcasters that air an episode each week, the production of our entire season is complete before the drop. This enables us to deliver higher quality and provide localized subtitles, as well as dubbing in some countries, so that viewers in over 190 countries can enjoy the show at the same time.

The extremely grueling Physical: 100 is currently #2 in our Global Top 10 Non-English TV series, and is featured in the Top 10 in 62 countries worldwide. We are just two weeks from finding out the winner.

They stay at “20 House” on January 1 to be independent from their parents and teachers. 19/20 is popular because these 19-year-olds, on the verge of adulthood, produce unexpectedly lively and sentimental moments. The show is produced by Single’s Inferno producer Kim Jae-won.

Single’s Inferno follows flirtatious singles on a deserted island where they can only escape as partners for romantic date nights. Single’s Inferno’s players were able to focus exclusively on their feelings in a small space without knowing each other’s ages or jobs, which global viewers liked. Single’s Inferno will return with hotter and newer faces for a third season. Season 3 will keep viewers hooked to their seats with surprising twists and new regulations in new areas.

This requires them to learn their way around a new type of zombie universe called Zombieverse. Both the art team from All of Us Are Dead and the zombie action choreographer from Kingdom are hard at work behind the scenes, contributing to the excitement that will be generated by the portrayal of the zombie universe and how realistically and thrillingly it will be done. The audience will be on the edge of their seats as they watch the survivors attempt to stay alive until the very end by fulfilling objectives such as hunting for food, transportation, or a safe haven; or deciding whether or not to save a colleague who has been infected by a zombie.

  • Young Cocoa pays tribute to Jakarta on new single “J-TOWN (PM)”

Young Cocoa pays tribute to Jakarta on new single “J-TOWN (PM)”

Young Cocoa teams up with his frequent collaborator, Trizzy, in the DNB-infused bop!

Filipino rapper-producer Young Cocoa revisits his experiences of growing up in Jakarta on “J-TOWN (PM)”—his new single via the pan-regional label, OFFMUTE.

According to the prolific young artist, “J-TOWN (PM)” maps a pivotal moment in his life where he embraced the joys and pains of living in a multicultural city, pursued his goals and dreams, and met people with diverse backgrounds.

    Young Cocoa

“The song is about how I feel about Jakarta,” Young Cocoa reflects. “It’s not so much a nostalgic visit as it is one where I express how much impact the city has had on me.”

While the majority of the lyrics are delivered in English, some of the lines in Young Cocoa’s latest track are in Bahasa Indonesia. The Manila chart-topper shares, “The way I did it was inspired by other Southeast Asian artists who would mix English and their native languages into their lyrics. I chose to incorporate Bahasa because I felt it was necessary to tell my story as authentically as possible, as this is a more serious take on how I normally structure the lyrics and storytelling of my music.”

“J-TOWN (PM)” is produced by Young Cocoa’s frequent collaborator Trizzy, whose work pushes the rookie act to experiment and explore his sound even further. Combining drum n’ bass elements with UK Garage and lo-fi textures, the song showcases a grittier, edgier, and more serious side of Young Cocoa, while allowing listeners to get to know him on a deeper lyrical level.

“JTOWN is the most different song I’ve ever made,” says Young Cocoa. “I consider it a benchmark in my discography in terms of my sound selection, tempo, mood, and the overall evolution of taste.”

“J-TOWN” will be on Young Cocoa’s debut mixtape, Sari Sari, to be released in the coming months. The soon-to-be-released EP contains a collaboration with an Asian artist he met last year at a music festival, as well as some bops.

Check out Young Cocoa’s “J-TOWN (PM)” on all digital music platforms via OFFMUTE.

  • Chris Wu Hunts Copycat Killer in Netflix Crime Thriller

Chinese crime-thriller, Copycat Killer will debut on Netflix on March 31. The plot is based on a crime mystery novel by Japanese author Miyuki Miyabe, and it takes place in 1990s Taipei, and it relates the story of the first serial murder case in Taiwan.

According to the streaming service, the serial killer uses his or her knowledge of the media to transform the case into a national spectacle, generating widespread interest and speculation. Award-winning actor Wu Kang-ren plays a no-nonsense prosecutor who is determined to solve the case but soon learns that everything is not as it seems. Meanwhile, the murderer routinely mocks law enforcement and the judicial system as he works to undermine social stability.

Wu Kang-ren plays a tough prosecutor on the hunt for a serial killer who knows how to use the media to his advantage. Producers Hank Tseng and Phil Tang, who have won multiple awards, are at the helm of this exciting show. According to Tseng, Copycat Killer depicts a story of how desires, when out of control, can cause evil to go viral in a city,” said Tseng. “We hope that the confluence and fluidity of good and evil in the series will be able to provide healing to our viewers in this world of madness, where a lot more can be done to help and support each other.”

While most crime stories focus on details of the cases, Copycat Killer casts a wider net. “We hope to portray more facets of each character and their thoughts and reflections within an intriguing narrative,” explained co-director Henri Chang, who earned six Golden Bell nominations for Hate the Sin, Love the Sinner. “While the story begins with ‘evil’ as we know it, there is a lot more to reflect on and take away from the series.”

  • Money Heist Berlin To Premiere on Netflix in December 2023

Money Heist Berlin To Premiere on Netflix in December 2023

The spin-off of Netflix’s big Spanish heist crime drama series “Money Heist” will have its world premiere in December, and the streaming service has already released an early teaser video for the show.

The new series will center on the fan-favorite character Berlin (Pedro Alonso), who is a grand larcenist, jewel thief, and cracksman who is also the older brother of the heist’s mastermind, The Professor.

The events of the plot will take place in the years leading up to the largest heist that Spain has ever witnessed, and they will most likely expand upon the flashbacks that were featured in the later seasons of “Money Heist,” during which Berlin displayed more empathy.

The author, Alex Pina, has previously referred to it as “a trip through the golden age of the character, when he robbed around Europe crazy in love.” Since Berlin had five previous marriages, it is unclear whose love interest will be highlighted. As so, there will still be lots of comedy, tension, and crime.

In addition to Michelle Jenner as Keila, the series also has Begona Vargas as Cameron, Yuri D. Brown as Bertrand, Marcel Gonzalez as Jean, Tristan Ulloa as Damian, Joel Sanchez as Bruce, and Julio Pea as Roi. It is not yet known whether Rodrigo de la Serna as Palermo, Alvaro Morte as The Professor, or Diana Gómez as Tatiana will reprise their roles in the show. Paris and Madrid have both served as shooting locations for the project.
