The six-member Korean boy group P1Harmony, composed of KEEHO, THEO, JIUNG, INTAK, SOUL, and JONGSEOB, has just confirmed their first-ever visit to the Philippines and will be performing at the New Frontier Theater on September 9, 2023. Ticketing details have been announced by the global concert promoter, Live Nation Philippines, and will be available at TicketNet outlets and via www.ticketnet.com.ph.
PH1Harmony entered the mainstream music market with its breakout EP โDISHARMONY: STAND OUT” and its title track โSIRENโ in October 2020, with all five tracks written or co-written by the band.
P1Harmony historically debuted with the release of the box-office production film โP1H: A New World Beginsโ, co-starring some of the biggest names in Korean Entertainment. โP1H: A New World Beginsโ stars P1Harmony members and tells the story of P1Harmonyโs newly created K-POP cinematic universe of boys from different dimensions who gather together to find the โStar of Hope.โ A 20-minute highlight version of the movie was premiered through Amazon Musicโs Twitch channel, followed by an exclusive interview with well-known KPOP journalist Jeff Benjamin.
P1Harmony completed their first-ever concert tour from March to May 2022, in the US, with all 11 tour dates selling out in less than 30 minutes, and the band made another surprise by collaborating with R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Pink Sweat$ with the song โGotta Get Back,โ released in May 2022.
P1Harmony released their 5th mini album, โHARMONY: SET IN,โ and had their second US tour from January to February 2023 with 12 stops, including Nashville, in which they are the first K-POP band to perform at the historic Grand Ole Opry. During their album promotion and second US tour, P1Harmony appeared on popular US TV programs such as โThe Kelly Clarkson Show,โ โThe Great Day Houston,โ and โGMA3.โ
P1Harmony also had TikTok Live on NBC’s โToday Showโ and reached around 12k viewers, which makes the โtop viewer countsโ that Today Show ever had. P1Harmony won the “Emerging Artist Award” from the 2022 HANTEO MUSIC AWARD, and their latest single โBack Downโ was listed in MTVโs โBop Shopโ and Sweety Highโs โThe Best 6 K-Pop Tracks,โ proving P1Harmony worldwide influence as a remarkable group.
Expanding their connection and spectrum in the industry, P1Harmony had New Hope Club, a famous British band, as their opening guest in NY show during the tour and will be joining the opening stage of New Hope Club in the Seoul concert.
To this date, P1Harmony has also reached Billboardโs #1 Emerging Artists (RE); #51 Billboard 200; #35 Artist 100; #3 World Albums; #8 Top Album Sales; #8 Top Current Album Sales; and #11 Independent Albums.
With their fast-growing stardom and greater-than-ever success into 2023, P1Harmony is looking to continue its momentum and reach new career heights and global recognition through an aggressive promotion strategy in the US. They have already established themselves as a more dynamic and exciting K-POP group with high-quality music and scene-stealing performances. They will continue to build on that momentum, focusing on connecting with International audiences.
Tickets to the P1Harmony concert at the New Frontier Theater on September 9 will be available during the LNPH presale on July 1 (Monday) from 10:00 am to 11:59p while general on sale will be on July 2 (Tuesday) at 12:00 pm onwards.
Complete creativity on DreamWorks Animation’s part Writers Brian Brown and Elliott DiGuiseppi came up with the original concept, which revolved around marine creatures, and pitched it to the studio. Originally titled simply Meet the Gillmans, it followed a family of marine creatures as they made a new life for themselves on dry land. Pam Brady expanded on the story further in her writing. Launching in theaters on June 28, “Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken” is DreamWorks’ next coming-of-age YA film starring Lana Condor (of the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series) as the eponymous character. With 86 times in the studio the most recordings were done by Lana Condor (“Ruby Gillman”) (15 times).
Ruby’s phrase, “prophesied princess warrior of an interspecies vendetta,” is one of the most difficult to utter. The directors liked the statement so much that they had Lana record it about 20 times, each time in a different setting. The statement “Grandmamah! It goes UP on the second Mah” was an improvised remark by Jane Fonda. During their discussion of the characters’ underlying motives, Jane wrote this note for her co-director, Faryn Pearl.
A hilarious and heartfelt action comedy, “Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken” plunges into the choppy waters of high school with a quirky teen who learns that she is a member of a legendary royal lineage of mythical sea krakens and that her destiny, in the depths of the oceans, is bigger than she ever imagined. The waters have been at war with the vain, power-hungry mermaids for a very long time, and the kraken have pledged to defend them.
Ruby Gillman, the eldest child of the Gillman family and a champion mathematician, is navigating high school while concealing her true identity. She is not the most popular girl in school, but she has the support of her family, including her mega-selling realtor mother Agatha (Toni Collette, Knives Out) and her laid-back, supportive father Arthur (Colman Domingo); even her younger brother Sam (Blue Chapman) thinks she’s fine. As the titular heroine in the 2018 adolescent romance drama To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, rising young actress Lana Condor, who captivated the hearts of audiences everywhere, found much to admire in Ruby and was happy to explore all of Ruby’s beautiful quirks. According to Condor, “Ruby is wildly earnest, and she has a very big heart.” She places a high value on her relationships with those around her. She is a genuine angel. She is refreshingly authentic, upbeat, and unwavering. The only thing she wants to do is hang around with her pals; she’s a little odd and timid.
(from left) Ruby Gillman (Lana Condor, back to camera) and Chelsea (Annie Murphy) in DreamWorks Animationโs Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken, directed by Kirk DiMicco.
Ruby is a conflict avoider who has always followed her mother’s ordersโuntil the night her prom proposal to Connor went horribly wrong and she had to plunge into the water to save his life. As she dives further, Ruby changes into a massive kraken, much to her shock. After learning that her mother has been withholding information, Ruby sets out to discover the truth about her background. During her travels, Ruby meets and bonds with her oversized Grandmamah, the Kraken Queen (Academy Awardยฎ winner Jane Fonda), who is only too ready to see Ruby become her successor and forms an ill-advised friendship with Chelsea, who has a hidden goal of her own. Ruby has a lot to learn before she can take over as queen. She has to learn to love and accept herself, no matter where she is or how she got there. Then, and only then, will she be able to fully realize her heroic potential.
RUBY GILLMAN, TEENAGE KRAKEN, from DreamWorks Animation
From the makers of unforgettable hit movies worldwide, “Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken is directed by Academy Awardยฎ-nominated filmmaker Kirk Demicco (Vivo, The Croods) and produced by Kelly Cooney Cilella, p.g.a. (Trolls World Tour, Trolls), with Faryn Pearl (The Croods: A New Age, Trolls World Tour) serving as co-director.
The end product is a visually magnificent, emotionally poignant, and extremely amusing aquatic coming-of-age drama about a girl who learns more about herself and the world than she ever believed possible while trying to find her place in it. DreamWorks Animation President Margie Cohn says, “DreamWorks Animation has a long, comic tradition of subverting the hero’s journey, whether it’s an ogre that saves a princess, a panda that becomes a warrior, or a progressive Viking teen and his injured dragon who change the course of their community.” ” Ruby Gillman represents a new chapter in that tradition: a teenage girl with unexpected and extraordinary powers.”

A DreamWorks film and Universal Pictures presentation, “Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken,” opens in Philippine cinemas on June 28 and is still showing!
K-Pop Stans for Good Governance (KS4GG) raised P16,726.20 to help build a residence for the Home for the Indigent Gay Men, more commonly known as The Golden Gaysโa non-profit organization that shelters the elderly members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Last February 12, KS4GG and the fans of K-Pop girl group MAMAMOO, known as MOOMOOs, celebrated the group’s first solo concert in the country, MY CON, with MYCONtinuation After Party in Manila.
In celebration of Pride Month, funds raised from the event were donated to The Golden Journeyโan initiative led by Drag Race Philippines Season 1 winner Precious Paula Nicole. Discrimination and growing old alone are constant fears for the elderly LGBTQIA+ community. The Golden Journey seeks to address this by building a permanent home for The Golden Gays and providing them with a means to thrive through a sustainable livelihood program.
KS4GG notes that MAMAMOO members are known allies of the LGBTQIA+ community, so it was only fitting for the queer community to be the beneficiaries of the MOOMOOs efforts. Drag superstar Precious Paula Nicole shares โThank you for joining us on The Golden Journey. Sa bawat donasyon na aming natatanggap, palapit nang palapit tayo sa ating pangarap: ang permanenteng bahay at kabuhayan para sa The Golden Gays.โ

The Philippines got a whiff of that strong NCT DoJaeJung scent as Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo held their successful first fan concert at the Mall of Asia Arena on June 24.
Presented by Ovation Productions and VIU, NCT DOJAEJUNG Scented Symphony: Perfume marked its first and only stop in Manila with thousands of NCTzens in attendance. As a special bonus, a media conference, attended by members of the press and fans, was also held in Glorietta Activity Center the following day.

Perfume showcased the groupโs recently released first EP live. Onstage, the trio was extraordinarily versatile as they showed the sexy vibes of โDiveโ, โKissโ and โPerfumeโ, the bittersweet โOrdinaryโ followed by extra sweet โStrawberry Sundayโ. The entire arena was dyed in pearl neo champagne as NCTzens endlessly cheered with their lightsticks from beginning to end.
Getting to know Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo
Aside from their striking live performance, we also got to know DJJ more. The fancon also featured an interactive Q&A session hosted by Sam Oh plus a few games.
Here are some things we learned:
When asked about activities they want to pursue, Doyoung and Jungwoo answered they want to do a world tour. Jaehyun, meanwhile, said he wanted to make more music with the group. During the media conference, the trio reiterated their desire to release more music and embark on concerts as a sub-unit.
They have yet to try Filipino food that evening, but they were looking to try halo-halo and lechon. (Update: Before flying out of Manila, they were able to eat the halo-halo, as posted in their photos in their Instagram stories.)
Jaehyun described Filipino NCTzens as โvanillaโ. Repeatedly. When asked to describe the crowd in one word, he said โVanilla. Sweet as vanilla.โ He also said the same thing during their media conference the next day.
Jungwoo said he wanted to try hip-hop for their next concept. Doyoung chimed in โreggaeโ. Jaehyun sealed the answer with โhip-hop reggaeโ. The audience loudly cheered for a sample, but the trio laughed and said they didnโt have anything to show yet.
Doyoung sang a short but sweet snippet of โLike a Starโ, citing it as his favorite OST track he has performed so far.
Asked which song from Perfume describes each member best, Jungwoo replied “Strawberry Sunday”, while Jaehyun chose “Kiss”, and Doyoung named “Dive” as his choice. They also dedicated the song “Kiss” to their Filipino NCTzens and recommended “Strawberry Sunday” among the tracks from their album, during the media conference.
Jaehyun has a very sharp eye for details. During the Spot the Difference segment, each member was asked to distinguish the slight differences in their respective photos within a time limit. Without asking for the help of the audience, Jaehyun was able to spot each flaw down to the tiniest detail.
Three lucky fans got the chance to play the game called โGuess the Lyricsโ with NCT DoJaeJung. In a raffle draw held during the event, three audience members from different areas in the arena were picked to act out specific words charades-style from the lyrics of the groupโs songs. Each participant was partnered with a DJJ member and each received a special Polaroid picture after the show. Again, Jaehyun, competitive as he is, took the lead for this game as well.
All three members of NCT DoJaeJung were ecstatic to be on the Philippine concert stage, leaving lingering memories with NCTzens who were there.
Doyoung said, โItโs our first time to come here as NCT DoJaeJung so I was really excited for this concert and I enjoyed it a lot, too.โ He also thanked the emcee Sam Oh for hosting the show well.
Jaehyun affirmed, โThank you for letting us have fun on the stage and letting us perform in front of you. I had a lot of fun today. Iโm definitely going to miss you all. Stay tuned forever!โ (Yes, he really said โforeverโ.) He also assured Filipino NCTzens that they will come back to the country as long as there is an opportunity.
Jungwoo, sweet as he is, said, โIโm happy to get so much time with you! Thank you for welcoming us with warmth and cheers! We hope you keep on cheering for us for our remaining activities, and I hope that you donโt forget weโre also cheering for you.โ

Special thanks to Ovation Productions, VIU, and Ayala Malls for the invitation to the fan concert and the media conference.
Ben&Ben is also set to debut the electronic-leaning track live in their upcoming 5-city international tour!
After drawing more than 60 thousand fans for their homecoming concert last year and gaining accolades for their performance at Hong Kongโs Clockenflap Music & Arts Festival 2023, Filipino nine-piece collective Ben&Ben marks the introduction of a new era with the release of โCould Be Somethingโ on June 30, Friday at midnight.
Signaling a new chapter of musical growth and evolution, Ben&Benโs first single of 2023 is a big step forward. This time, the multi-awarded band infuses their guitar-driven folk/pop-rock roots with city pop elements, tropicalia beats, and twinkling production touches, for a more electronic-leaning track. Together with co-producers Timothy Run and Sam Marquez, they collectively brought a new dimension to Ben&Benโs sound. โWe wanted the instrumentation and production to capture a more mature kind of hope, so we used slightly darker chords, coupled with tight rhythms, to bring out a unique kind of catharsis for the listener, for our Liwanag,โ Ben&Ben explains in a collective statement. โTogether with our co-producers, we built the soundscapes to reflect a lush, yet tighter than ever sound for the band.โ
According to the Pagtingin hitmakers, โCould Be Somethingโ delves into the often-overlooked phase before taking a leap of faith. It candidly addresses moments of overthinking and overprocessing, providing a relatable narrative for all.
โCould Be Something is a song about turning doubt into belief,โ Ben&Ben shares. โItโs the revival of hope after being caught in a very cynical place. Itโs the feeling you get after meeting someone who unexplainably makes you believe in love again, or finding a new passion that sparks life in you.โ
The nine-piece act reveals that, beyond being a love song, their new single doubles as an anthem for people grappling with doubt. โIt offers a reminder to believe, surrender, and let go during challenging times,โ the acclaimed Filipino group adds.
The band worked together with Ben&Ben Music Production, the management team behind the bandโs entire operations, music production, and marketing efforts, to embark on this new journey. Since the pandemic, the band has been self-managed by a tightly knit, yet efficient team of people that the band believes in, and trusts wholeheartedly.
International Tour
Ben&Ben plans to debut a live performance of โCould Be Somethingโ in the coming months, as they headline their nationwide tour in key cities across the country. Additionally, for the first time ever, they will be taking the song to an international audience with an international tour that kicks off in London, followed by Los Angeles, Toronto, Sydney, and Dubai. This is in collaboration with ABS- CBN Global and 1MX Music Festival. More details will be revealed in the coming weeks via their social media accounts and official website.
Ben&Benโs โCould Be Somethingโ is the first song to be will be out on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment on June 30, 2023.
DREAMCATCHER, THE FACE OF ROCK IN K-POP, IS COMING BACK TO MANILA!
After 4 staggering years of wait, get ready to scream your hearts out with Dreamcatcher as they take the โMoonlightโ in Manila on August 28, 2023, at the New Frontier Theater.
Dreamcatcher, the face of rock in K-pop, is comprised of 7 members JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Dami, and Gahyeon. Fondly called by their fandom InSomnia as Deukae, they fuse mysterious horror and fantasy themes with slick dance-pop, rock, and metal. They rose quickly into the K-pop mainstream with a series of EPs in 2017 and 2018 mainly focusing on 7 nightmares/fears represented by each member.
After the success of the Nightmare series, they embarked on a new chapter with the Apocalypse series starting with their second full album, “Apocalypse: Save Us”. The album boasts 14 songs including solos from each member. The title track “Maison” is an electrifying synth-rock sending out the strong message of saving the environment. This got them their first music show win in their career, and a second one too! “Apocalypse: Follow Us” with its title track “Vision” was the second installment in the series. The dark and edgy electronic rock song expressed Dreamcatcherโs vision of the apocalyptic future if we continue to fail to care for the environment.
The culmination of the Apocalypse series comes with their recent release, their 8th mini-album, “Apocalypse: From Us” with its J-rock-sounding title track “Bon Voyage” and truly what an awesome way to bid farewell to the Apocalypse series with โBon Voyageโ getting them their 3rd and 4th music show wins.
Random Minds ensured every InSomnia goes home happy as they maximized the showโs fan benefits. Choose your desired ticket wisely as tickets will go on sale on the 2nd of July at 10AM via TicketNet outlets nationwide and online via www.ticketnet.com.ph.

Can we just stay here and spend the rest of our days here? 24K magic was in the air as Bruno Mars makes his way back to his home for a bigger concert in the Philippines!
Bruno Mars became the first solo performer to perform two consecutive shows at the biggest indoor stadium in the world by dominating the Philippine concert scene with back-to-back performances at the Philippine Arena. The weekend performances also marked his comeback to the local concert scene five years after his 2018 24K Magic World Tour.
The Filipino-American singer-songwriter kicked off his show with his 2016 smash hit “24K Magic.” Thunderous applause greeted his entrance onto the stage, and in typical Philippine concert crowd flair, the audience immediately took charge and joined in with the singer’s singing. The show’s start time was rescheduled from 7 p.m. to roughly 7:50 p.m. as a number of people were delayed getting to the arena on the first day of the back-to-back shows.
Nonetheless, the enthusiasm continued to permeate the crowd as Bruno Mars performed a setlist that was equal parts party-like, nostalgic, and hard-hitting. Following his “24K Magic” opener, he got the crowd moving more with “Finesse,” and “Treasure,” and then picked up his guitar for an uninterrupted set of “Liquor Store Blues” and “Billionaire.”
With his seductive and funny interval, “Calling All My Lovelies” became more entertaining. “Hey, baby. I’m in the Philippines right now. It’s been a while. Has it been four, five years since I went here? But I still feel the same about you. And it’s stillโฆ miss na kita, mahal. I said, miss na kita, mahal. You don’t believe me yet? Watch this,” he said, proceeding to sing miss na kita, mahal. He followed his monologue by singing a portion of “Wake Up in the Sky,” his 2018 collaboration with Gucci Mane and Kodak Black.

Bruno Mars evidently enjoyed the concert, as his smiles lingered throughout. The crowd felt and amplified his energy and attitude, ensuring that the Philippine Arena reverberated with their enthusiasm. In addition to singing along, the audience had a good time dancing and jumping along with the singer during the almost two-hour performance.
With his powerful vocals, infectious energy, and endearing and humorous remarks, Bruno Mars gave an unforgettable performance. Additionally, it highlighted his band, whose members dazzled the audience with solo performances.
He sang “That’s What I Like” and “Please Me” before quickly changing into a different outfit. The Ronettes’ “Be My Baby,” “Marry You,” and “Runaway Baby” were covered by him when he came back on stage for “Versace on the Floor.” Challenging the concertgoers in the Philippines with the game of “if you know the song, sing along”, he performed a medley of “Fuck You,” “Young, Wild & Free,” “Grenade,” “Talking to the Moon,” “Nothin’ On You,” and “Leave the Door Open” while playing the keyboard. He amused the audience by saying, “Stop it, ladies. I’m shy. I’m shy. Nahihiya ako.”

He went on to deliver a heartfelt and emotional performance of “When I Was Your Man”. Giving it to the crowd, the attendees poured their hearts into singing the bridge of the song. Following a keyboard solo by John Fossitt, the singer came back on stage for “Locked Out of Heaven” and “Just the Way You Are”.
“We’ve always wanted to play here. Thank you, guys, so much. This is so beautiful. I hope we can come back real, real soon. I’ll love to see you all again.”

Simply put, there is no other hard rock supergroup that is more important than Mr. Big.
With over 4 million albums sold worldwide, the band โ vocalist Eric Martin, guitarist Paul Gilbert, bassist Billy Sheehan, and original drummer Pat Torpey โ has released some of the most beloved pop/rock tunes worldwide, influenced an entire generation of musicians and forever changed the music game by becoming the standard for both technical proficiency and excellent song craftsmanship for 35 years.
This is why it is a gargantuan โ and definitely bittersweet โ moment for PULP Live World to announce that the highest-selling supergroup has, indeed, included Manila, Philippines among its final stops on its The BIG Finish farewell tour this August 9th, 2023.
Most notably, the band has also formed one of the deepest connections to its worldwide fanbase throughout the decadesโฆ especially to the Filipino people. This will be Mr. Bigโs fifth time in Manila, and the band is just as excited to see their fans come out.
Though original drummer and co-founder Pat Torpey sadly passed in February of 2018 due to Parkinsonโs Disease, the band is proud to announce that they will be joined by longtime friend Nick Virgilio, who Gilbert shares, was โa fan of Patโs, and is the closest to getting the spirit of the late drummerโs breadth of skill.โ Virgilio is now-among the list of the few prominent musicians to have played with Mr. Big, which includes drummers Matt Starr and guitar superstar Richie Kotzen.
Of course, it wouldnโt be a proper goodbye if the band didnโt deliver its biggest hits for one last time: โTo Be With You,โ โJust Take My Heart,โ โGreen Tinted Sixties Mind,โ โTake Cover,โ โWild World,โ โShine,โ โGoinโ Where The Wind Blowsโ are just a few classics in the bandโs repertoire, having released 9 full-length studio albums, countless of live albums, singles and rarities from 1989 to the present. And for this tour, the band will be playing their breakthrough Platinum-selling 1991 album Lean Into It in its entirety.
โWe wanted to do a proper farewell, and this seems like the right way to do it,โ bassist Sheehan shares, while vocalist Martin adds: โIโm glad weโre getting a chance to do it all onstage together as Mr. Big again and raise a flag to everything weโve done as a band through the years; I love playing with these guys, and if Iโm being honest, I donโt want it to ever end โ but if this is really the end, then I want us all to have a happy ending together.โ
Guitarist Paul Gilbert concludes: โMusic is like time travel โ you can hear something that takes you back to 1992 โ and on this tour, I want to give people the opportunity to time-travelโฆ good music is timeless.โ
