Minzy Glitter Bombs Manila in Her First-Ever Solo Concert in the Philippines

POS and Blackjacks glammed up as MINZY, one of the most prominent figures of the second generation of K-Pop, and hailed the “Dance Queen of K-Pop” headlined her first solo tour, GLEE, at the New Frontier Theater last June 4, 2023.

Minzy showed off her charisma and talent and the Filipino fans did not disappoint in returning the energy as this concert is possibly one of the most glamorous ensembles of concert dress-up we’ve seen! Glittered, painted in gold, wigged and glammed, POS and Blackjacks were memorable as Minzy for the party they’ve all been waiting for.

Here’s what the Glee weekend rolled out for Minzy’s thunderous concert.

Lovely Minzy

Ahead of the concert, Minzy held a short press conference with the media and a couple of lucky fans who won the raffle to get up close and personal with the star.

Minzy had a subdued aura but shone brightly as she delighted the fans and media with her short and humble answers to the questions. She endearingly recalled her most memorable experience in the Philippines where she had a dance battle with Jollibee! She also mentioned that the Philippines feels like her second home at this point with the number of times she has visited. In coming back to the Philippines, she mentioned she is delighted to meet the Pinoy fans again after the pandemic and wants to strengthen her relationship with them, and with this, she gave a piece of advice to not have any regrets and just to have fun.

The star took a picture with the fans towards the end of the session, telling the fans that she was excited to meet them again the next day.

Fantabulous Night with the Dancing Queen

The concert was jam-packed with her known singles, covers, and 2NE1-coded hits that made all the fans jump and rave as a party should go.

She opened the set with a part of 2NE1’s song “CRUSH” and remixed it with her own “NINANO”, followed by “Fantabulous”. It wouldn’t be a Minzy show if there wasn’t a dance break so she went on and shook the stage with famous TikTok hits like “Savage” and other remixes of “All Of You Say” and On & On.

The 2NE1 tracks she sang that are known to pretty much every K-Pop fan are “‘I AM THE BEST”, “HAPPY” and “I Don’t Care (reggae version)”, which gave so much nostalgia for the 2nd generation of KPOP. You can see that these songs are already considered classics and will always be played and sung by everyone.

Minzy also covered “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran and showcased her deep, alto voice that we dare not underestimate. We know that Minzy is known for dancing but she’s always been noted as a great singer. She told the fans she sang this song because she thinks that all the POS and Blackjacks are perfect! This intimate moment of the night proved just that and everyone was not surprisingly mesmerized. She also covered a ballad version of “Me Gustas Tu”, originally in a duet with Taeil of Block B and originally sung by GFriend.

She also sang some of her songs like, “Teamo”, “Flashlight” which featured Jay Park in the record, “ING”, “Superwoman”, and “Beautiful Lie” mostly plucked from her debut solo album, MINZY WORK 01 UNO.

A remarkable performance was her song “LOVELY” where she sang the Tagalog version, a song the Filipino fans treasure. How many times does your Korean idol ever sing a Tagalog version of a song? It only goes to show that the Filo POS and Blackjacks are extra special to the heart of the artist.

As special as Minzy treats her Filipino fans, she also reciprocated with a video fan project that made the star emotional while watching. It showed a glimpse of Minzy’s journey throughout her career as a part 2NE1, her debut days, and as a soloist. Overwhelmed, Minzy told the crowd that the Philippines is truly her second home and told them “You guys are my family. I love you. Mahal ko kayo!”. With this, she sang the acoustic version of “Come Back Home” by 2NE1, a significant song for the group as it was the last title track for their last official full album.

She returned to the stage for an encore with “I AM THE BEST” and “GO AWAY”, both smashing hits from 2NE1, and closed the night by telling everyone that she is, “THRILLED to perform this show on stage in Manila! I’m happy that you Pinoy fans are having a gun with so much passion!”

The concert may only be just for one night, but it will be remembered by all Filipino POS and Blackjacks who have followed Minzy’s journey as a member of 2NE1 and now as a solo artist. Always welcome on our shores, the Filipino fans again did not fall short in showing their never-ending love and passion for their favorite artist, this time for our favorite dancing queen Minzy. It is undeniable that one of the most loyal fanbases right now is the POS and Blackjacks as they never failed to pump and lose control when they hear the 2NE1 beat and scream, “naega jeil jal naga!” until their lungs burst.

Netflix Introduces Six New K-Romance Series to Make Your Heart Beat Faster

If you have been swept off your feet by the unconventional love story in Crash Landing on You, or melted at the first stirrings of connection in Extraordinary Attorney Woo and Business Proposal, then brace yourselves for a heartbeat-skipping announcement.

Audiences worldwide have been growing fonder of K-Romance, and this affection shows no signs of fading. Between 2018 and 2022, global viewership of Netflix’s K-Romance titles tripled. In 2022 alone, more than 90 percent of this viewing came from outside South Korea.

We’re moved by the affection, and we’re eager to return it in kind. As the home for compelling K-Romance, Netflix will be introducing six new Korean romance series over the upcoming five months.

For decades, this genre has captivated audiences in Korea and throughout Asia, a testament to the storytelling prowess and production expertise of gifted Korean content creators, observes Don Kang, Vice President of Content (Korea). “We’re genuinely humbled by how our emotive Korean shows have found a home in the hearts of global audiences through Netflix, stretching from the U.S., Europe, South America, and beyond. The crafting of the hallmark slow-burning intensity of K-romances, along with their wholesome appeal, shapes an undeniably “endearing genre that strikes a chord with global viewers”, she believes.

Netflix’s investment in subtitling and dubbing has been instrumental in expanding the K-Romance audiences. “The impact has been more profound than we ever imagined,” shares Yang. “Despite the diversity of languages, the common thread of understanding and accessing Korean content seems to be a key strength that has set Netflix as a trendsetter.” Yang underscores the value of dubbing, noting that “listening to dialogues in their languages helps K-Romance resonate more deeply with viewers worldwide”.

Ebe Dancel to Headline First Major Concert in Cebu City

The highly anticipated show will feature a career-spanning set from Ebe Dancel, as well as the big screen debut of ‘Sa Wakas’ documentary.

Filipino singer-songwriter Ebe Dancel will be staging his first major concert in Cebu on August 5, 2023 (Saturday), from 7PM onwards, at the Pacific Grand Ballroom in the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

Presented by GNN Entertainment Productions and Artist Ko Multi-purpose Cooperative, in partnership with Balcony Entertainment, Ebe Dancel Live In Cebu will feature his career-spanning work as a solo artist and as the frontman of the iconic pop-rock band Sugarfree.

“Ebe Dancel’s first major concert in Cebu is long overdue,” Artist Ko Multi-purpose Cooperative Vice Chairman Jude Gitamondoc shares in a press statement. “Ebe has a lot of solid fans in the Visayas, and we want them to experience Ebe’s artistry closer to home. Cebuanos love Ebe because he is authentic. His songs have grit, intellect, and integrity, the stuff we expect and value in our own artists. We can’t wait for Cebuanos to experience all that in the flesh come August 5.”

Best known as the proponent and organizer of Vispop, the songwriting campaign that brought Bisaya music into the mainstream, Artist Ko will be teaming up with concert promoter GNN Entertainment Productions to mark an auspicious start for a meaningful partnership in the live music scene and bring more engaging events to Cebu in the near future.

Gitamondoc adds, “Part of that success was our sensitivity to the Cebuano audience—what they like to hear, what they are drawn to. Cebu is not just a city. It is a community with a strong identity and a lot of shared values. So when GNN Entertainment Productions approached us to partner with them for this event, that signaled to us their commitment to being respectful to the community.”

Aside from Ebe Dancel’s headlining set, the highly anticipated show will also mark the big-screen debut of the Sa Wakas documentary, which was shot and produced early this year to mark the 20th anniversary of the landmark album. Its director, producer, and creator Cyrian Agujo, will be attending and presenting the film for the first time to the Cebu audience.

Guest performances from Manila and Cebu acts will also be revealed in the coming days/weeks, with the latter being specifically handpicked by Ebe Dancel himself.

With critically acclaimed albums, sold-out concerts, and chart-topping songs under his belt, Ebe Dancel has established himself as one of the biggest pop/rock crossovers of the last two decades.

EXO’s Baekhyun, B.I, and Jeon Somi Shine at OVERPASS 2023 with Superb and Hyped Up Live Performances

OVERPASS 2023 brought together three of K-Pop’s best solo artists for an evening of music, endearing interactions, and priceless memories.

OVERPASS: K-Pop Music Concert delivers on its promise to bring together R&B, soul, and hip-hop artists on a single concert stage for a global music gathering that celebrates Asian excellence in music. In this year’s offering, spearheaded by CS Concerts and OctoArts Entertainment, OVERPASS 2023 highlighted K-Pop music with a concert heralded by top K-Pop acts of their generations — EXO’s Baekhyun, B.I, and Jeon Somi.

Before the three main acts took on the stage, P-Pop acts G22 and VXON paraded Filipino talent with their pre-show performances. The girl group, composed of AJ, Alfea, Bianca, and Jaz performed an empowering and jaw-dropping stage of their debut single, “BANG”. Meanwhile, C13, Sam, Patrick, Vince, and Franz took over The Big Dome to showcase performances of their songs “The Beast” and “Breaking Bad”.

With the P-Pop acts upping the energy at the venue, the crowd was more than ready to welcome their favorite K-Pop acts to the Philippine concert stage. Denise Laurel, the evening’s host, cued the start of the concert, welcoming everyone to OVERPASS 2023 and earning loud cheers filled with excitement and nervous anticipation.

South Korean rapper, and singer-songwriter, B.I, performed his popular song “BTBT” to formally kick off the K-Pop music extravaganza. Following his solo concert in March, the rapper made his second trip to the nation this year, and he performed no less than phenomenal and fiery renditions of 18 of his songs. B.I certainly won the audience with an almost hour-long set that included performances of his hits, “BTBT”, “One and Only”, “Waterfall”, “TTM”, “Illusion”, “Got It Like That”, “Illa Illa”, “Middle with You”, and “Endless Summer”.

Manila had the good fortune to see live renditions of songs from his most recent album, To Die For, which was released on June 1 of this year. Among the songs performed during the concert were “Michelangelo,” “Flame,” “Lover,” “Dare to Love,” “Die for You,” “The Island of Misfits Toys,” “Wave,” and “Beautiful Life” from the album To Die For. The rapper also took to the Philippine concert stage to embark on Tiktok’s “Dare to Love” challenge. He said that he was always astonished by audiences and that Filipinos are unquestionably talented dancers.

B.I finished his act with the fan favorite “Cosmos.”

Jeon Somi took to The Big Dome stage after B.I, opening her set with “XOXO” and “What You Waiting For” off her debut studio album, XOXO. OVERPASS 2023 was the singer’s first live appearance in the Philippines since her debut. She did, however, mention that the event on June 11 was not her first trip to the nation. She even claims that the Philippines may have been the first place she ever went because her mother visited the Pearl of the Orient Seas while she was pregnant.

In addition to her flawless stage presence and captivating performances, Jeon Somi impressed everyone with her endearing attempt to learn Filipino language. She even brought a cheat sheet. With her adorable “hay naku,” “Mabuhay,” “salamat po,” and “charot,” she made everyone smile. She also admitted to loving mangoes and candy, Potchi.

She then performed “Anymore,” “Birthday,” and “Dumb Dumb” to finish her set.

As the lights started to dim, amidst much anticipation, the final artist of the evening’s show would begin, and the audience cheered louder and louder. EXO’s Baekhyun returned to the Philippine concert stage after four years, meeting EXO-L at The Big Dome. When the artist opened his act with “UN Village,” the crowd’s emotions were at an all-time high. He then greeted everyone with a big smile as a sea of Eribong hailed his return. With his pinky finger raised, Baekhyun also guaranteed that OVERPASS 2023 will not be the last time the Philippine EXO-L sees him on the local stage, assuring everyone that he will return.

The EXO member proceeded on his performance after “UN Village” with “Betcha,” “Candy,” and “Love Again.” Baekhyun also performed “Bambi” in the Philippines for the first time. The end of his performance was sealed by an affirmation of his commitment to return — with a pinky finger up.

EXO’s Baekhyun, B.I, and Jeon Somi were all present on one concert platform at OVERPASS 2023, resulting in a performance that celebrated music and produced treasured memories. It witnessed the reunion of Baekhyun and EXO-L as well as B.I and IDs. It was there that Jeon Somi first met her Philippine Sommungchis. Additionally, it witnessed the combined efforts of three fandoms, who greeted each performer with fervent applause and unrelenting enthusiasm.

Win Metawin Enchants in First Solo Fan Meeting in Manila

The multi-hyphenated Thai superstar, WIN METAWIN, definitely made hearts flutter as he met with devoted fans in the country.

Metawin Opas-iamkajorn, more popularly known as Win, held a fan meeting at the New Frontier Theater in Manila on June 11, 2023. Despite the gloomy weather and earlier downpour, fans trooped to the venue to shower Win with so much love. In return, he showed his appreciation and treated the crowd to more than an hour of fun and entertaining get-together.

Fan Meet Corner #1: Win’s Slam Book

Fans got to know more about Win in this first segment as he revealed information about him by answering a series of questions. When asked about his favorite breakfast, Win divulged that he doesn’t usually eat in the morning (he’s on intermittent fasting) and starts his meal at lunchtime.

However, he said that Kra Pao (stir-fried basil) would be his go-to meal for breakfast (especially during his younger days). Host Kring Kim then recommended champorado (chocolate rice porridge) with salted fish. He marveled at the unusual combination, but the host assured him it was good.

As for his normal work routine, Win said that he drinks 2 cups of Iced Americano to start his day but quickly added that he still feels sleepy after having it. After work, he takes a shower while listening to music and executes his skin care regimen. All these activities are part of his preparation before going to sleep. Win stated that he has to have 7-8 hours of sleep.

While on the topic of sleeping, Win is challenged to choose a goodnight line to say and fans got the chance to record it. He picked “Sweet dreams, my love”, much to the crowd’s delight.

He then introduced his three pet dogs, Charlotte, Bentley, and Cartier. According to him, Cartier is the naughtiest of the bunch. Win flaunted his confidence when his answer to the question about his best selfie angle was “every angle”.

Fan Meet Corner #2: Win’s Self-Cooking

Three lucky fans got to take home the sandwiches Win made himself. He named it My Love (meat toppings), Baby Vegan (vegetables only), and My Girlfriend (all toppings). After carefully preparing the pieces of bread, Win picked and announced the winners. He then went off stage to get ready for his next stage.

Host Kring Kim took the time to interact with the audience, some of whom have traveled to the Philippines to attend the event.

Fan Meet Corner #3: Win’s Works and Wins

For the third corner, Win talked about his career and achievements so far. He stated that 2gether the series is most memorable because it was his very first series. As for the character who closely resembles himself, he stated Tine and Gavin both shared similarities with him.

Win mentioned BLACKPINK’s Jennie as the international artist he wants to work with. He also said that he is curious and would like to collaborate with local celebrities such as Anne Curtis. With regard to his inclusion in Forbes 30 under 30 (Asia Class of 2023), Win said he is honored to be part of the list. But he revealed that when he first saw it on Twitter, he thought it was not real.

As for the role he wants to play, he mentioned he would like to explore a psychopathic character. Win said that there are a lot of things his fans did that are noteworthy but he spoke of his recent graduation as the most memorable. He thanked the fans, local and international, who flew in and went to celebrate with him. He turned insightful when he advised fans to concentrate on the present or live in the moment.

Fan Meet Corner #4: Win’s Beloved Q&A Station

Win chose and picked messages written for him by fans. He read the heartwarming messages thanking him for coming to the country. One message expressed full support and gratitude. Another one stated excitement and happiness and told him to never give up. The message that elicited the loudest cheer was a request to come back with Bright to which Win teasingly replied with “maybe”.

Win kicked off the fan meeting with a sultry performance of his single “เรม ใหม (One More Chance)”. After the first two segments, he went back on stage and sang his rendition of Paper Planes’ song “เสแสรง (Pretend)”. He followed it up with his version of SouthSide’s “ไหวอะเปลา เบเบ (Wai A Pao Baby)”. Win wrapped up his performance with his son “Ten Years Later”, an official soundtrack from 2gether The Movie. For his final performance, Win sang Still 2gether’s OST, “That Person Must Be You”. He went down to the audience during the performance, which surprised and thrilled fans.

After reading the final message in the Q&A corner, Win posed for a group photo. That was when a VCR played that shows his fans from all over the globe sending him words of appreciation.

Win thanked the fans for coming and said he hoped the audience enjoyed the night. He said he is always happy to see and meet fans. He expressed his love and remind the audience he has an upcoming project, Enigma, which will be showing soon. He once again thank the fans after his final performance for the night and as he bid the audience goodbye.

Philippines to serve as the first stop of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres Tour in 2024.

The Philippines will serve as the first stop of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour in 2024.

Fans of the band in the country who were dissatisfied with the band’s initial announcement for the Asian part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour may finally breathe a sigh of relief now that the band has added three more countries in Southeast Asia Asia. On the 19th of January in 2024, the music group that won a Grammy would be performing at the Philippine Arena.

With their upcoming performance at the Philippine Arena, Coldplay will become only the third international band to ever do so at the world’s largest indoor arena.

The announcement comes a few days after a teaser video featuring Coldplay tour advertisements playing on the huge widescreen of Philippine Arena was posted by Live Nation Philippines.

As a result of selling more than 7 million tickets over the course of their Music of the Spheres World Tour, Coldplay were named the Favourite Touring Artist at the 2022 American Music Awards. This achievement was the most for any tour over the course of the past two years.

Coldplay’s current world tour, titled Music Of The Spheres, has produced 47% fewer emissions of carbon dioxide than the band’s previous stadium tour, which took place in 2016/2017. This reduction is a part of the band’s efforts to be more environmentally responsible. In addition, five million trees have been planted all across the world, one for each person who attended the event.

Coldplay have also confirmed they will make a limited number of Infinity Tickets available for the shows at a later date. Infinity Tickets are released for every Coldplay show to make the Music Of The Spheres World Tour accessible to fans for an affordable price. They will cost the equivalent of $20 USD per ticket. They are restricted to a maximum of two tickets per purchaser, and must be bought in pairs (which will be located next to each other).

Fans can register for access to the ticket presale – which begins for all shows on Monday, June 19 – at signup.coldplay.com now. The general sale will begin on Tuesday, June 20.

Between You & Me: Cast of “Between Us The Series” Brings Extra Dose of Kilig to Fans

Thai hype is here in the Philippines and it’s not slowing down as the cast of Between Us the Series has finally met their fans here in Manila!

The cast of Between Us the Series brought extra kilig to the Philippines with fun-filled and memorable fan interaction moments at the SM Skydome, SM North Edsa, last May 28, 2023.

The cast consists of eight charming actors known as Boun Noppanut, Prem Warut Chawalitrujiwong, Benz Panupun Vongjorn, Tae Weerapat Toemmaneerat, Bosston Suphadach Wilairat, Sammy Melanie Coates, Sood Yacht Patsit Permpoonsavat, and Oreo Puwanai Sangwan or all monotonously known as Tae, Benz, Boun, Prem, Oreo, Yacht, Sammy, and Bosston who delighted their way into the Filipino fans’ heart.

The ensemble did not disappoint with fan service, as the octet showed a passion for each other and flowed from the screens to real life throughout the night, even in the in-between times of song performances and fan interactive games. Here’s what we unpacked from the memorable Saturday with the Between Us the Series gang.

Getting to know more of the cast

We asked the octet what significant lessons they acquired from one another while filming the series and touring other cities and Oreo mentioned that one of the things they got was the friendship between them and the closeness of their bond. They also learned that the good part of being close together makes it easier to connect with fans around the world, as they all share the same experience.

When asked about what kind of work they are planning to do in the future and who they want to collaborate with on a project, Yacht shared that he would like to explore roles and would like to work with Actress Baifern because she’s the one who she looks up to. Oreo would like to work with any senior actor as he believes that he will learn a lot from them.

When asked where they could travel if it’s an all-expenses-paid trip, Sammy happily stated that the location only matters if the entire ensemble accompanies her. I’m sure the Between Us fans loved that as you can really tell that the eight of them work well together on the screen. The cast’s answers were very centered on the bond that has developed between them and it’s very refreshing seeing people with such diverse personalities find comfort with one another. Throughout the press conference, the ensemble was also very comfortable joking and laughing with one another. It’s no surprise that Filipino fans adore this ensemble!

Showtime!

The cast kicked off the fan meeting with “The Luckiest Boy” by Boy Sompob, which is featured on the original soundtrack of the hit Thai series “Until We Meet Again” (UWMA). “Between Us the Series” is a 2022 spin-off of the previously mentioned 2019 series. In both series, Boun and Prem played the roles of Win and Team, respectively. UWMA also includes Sammy, Bosston, and Yacht.

Each cast member impressively addressed the audience in Filipino phrases such as “Magandang gabi!” and “Okay pa ba kayo?” One notable phrase they used was, “Salamat po sa pagpunta!” You can tell an artist’s effort to get to know the fans better when they study the language and culture they go to! Even in the press conference, they mentioned they wanted to go to Cebu because of its beaches!

All four couple did their own couple performances that put the fans in a little frenzy as these are the moments the kilig blossoms. Passionately singing to their partners, Tae and Benz performed “Until We Meet Again”, Sammy and Bosston sang “I Want To Tell You”, Yacht and Oreo performed, “Unexpectedly”, and Boun and Prem sweetly sang “Hold My Hand Tight” and all of these performances are coded to give you that serotonin boosts as each couple played their roles and personalities while performing. It also gave them a chance to interact with the fans as some of them appeared in different spots in the area!

And of course, it would not be a fan meet if there weren’t games the artists will play for the fans’ delight! A lot of the popular games these days actually reveal more of the artist’s personality and give us a glimpse of their thoughts and ideas. A noticeable reveal from the cast is that they have unwavering respect and admiration for their fans. The cast never failed to interact with fans, grabbing their phones during performances, even taking a fan on stage for a one-of-a-kind Polaroid picture to remember forever and waving at them with much enthusiasm. It’s also noticeable how the cast interacts with each other. They’ve always spoken highly and fondly of each other, like during the “Lie to Me” portion where the lie detector machine confirmed several things, such as Benz being Tae’s best friend. Or Yacht and Oreo confessing that they both play games into the wee hours of the morning. You don’t play with someone you’re not genuinely friends with all night!

Unforgettable Night Between Us

As we always mention, Filipino fans are always the best and most passionate crowd. When you have a Filipino fanbase, you know you will get the royalty treatment and this is exactly what the ensemble experienced during the final moments of the evening. Clad in traditional Filipino clothing, (Barong Tagalog for men and Filipiniana,) the cast became emotional after watching the dedicated edit video the fans made. Sammy and Bosston especially became tearful as they are incredibly thankful that they have fans who waited for them and wished that they will still be loved even if the show ends. The cast thanked their fans repeatedly throughout the night, saying that this is something they will never forget. Bosston, in particular, was stunned as he greeted the audience and expressed his gratitude for the love they offered him. Sammy mentioned that the Filipino fans are their “pahinga” and they energize her so that even though she gets tired at times, she just thinks of the fans.

They returned the lovely gestures by singing a Filipino song, “Come Inside My Heart” by the Filipino band IV of Spades, while they throw paper airplanes to the crowd and of course closed the evening with one last performance, “Our Song.”

There’s a little sprinkle of magic when you connect with people you only see on your screens. It’s funny how a little BL Thai drama can push you to be your best, as one fan in the audience stated, mentioning that the series was one of the reasons she got through her studies and made it easier. Different stories of inspiration and love come in different forms and it’s always worth the wait in seeing your favorite artist in the flesh as they give you everything and more. It was genuinely one of the purest fan/artist relationships I saw as the cast couldn’t even work out how thankful they are that their fans love and care for them so much. The event ended with all of them bowing to the Filipino crowd, taking the evening as a part of their core memories. We can hope that we all see them on the stage again someday as there is nothing, not a language nor country distance can come in between.

IN PHOTOS: Zark’s Fest 2023 Curates Outstanding Line-Up of OPM Artists for a Full-Day of Music

Zark’s Fest made a fantastic comeback for 2023 after a three-year absence due to the pandemic, offering OPM music from today’s new music to the veteran and iconic performers we love.

The sizzling hot summer in the Metro is welcomed by one of the Philippines’ most popular burger chains, Zark’s Burger, who sizzled their famed jawbreaker patties in the Circuit Event Grounds Makati including the Philippines’ most popular performers today last May 13, 2023. Zark’s Fest is the second installment of the festival and would have been the 5th music event if it wasn’t for the pandemic that stopped the world.

All in different genres, the music line-up started at noon that day, with the music fans, or the “Zarkadas” enjoying the games and prices plus all the good food and booze around the event grounds.

The novenary Filipino pride group Ben&Ben headlined the carefully curated line-up and performed hits like “Araw-Araw,” “Kathang Isip,“ “Di Ka Sayang,” and “Pagtingin.”

Among the artists are OPM legends like Sandwich and Urbandub who schooled the crowd on what real rock and roll music are, The Itchyworms, who sang their famous karaoke/barkada tunes like “Ang Beer na To’”, and Ebe Dancel who sang his most famous solo tracks and songs from his Sugarfree days like “Hari ng Sablay”, all of these artists showing young generations of music why they are dubbed as icons.

Zack Tabudlorepresented the Gen Z crowd and their hugots who sang their hearts out and even serenaded a fan on stage with songs like “Nangagamba,” “Binibini,” “Paano”, and “Yakap” Among the line-up BINI, who is currently called the “Nation’s Girl Group” and stood for the rising P-Pop music, as well as a multitude of brilliant performers such as artists like Autotelic, Kiyo, Hey June, Eli, and Six The North Star, Lola Amour, and Any Name’s Okay also electrified the stage.

It wouldn’t be a complete burger music fest if we didn’t have Guinness World Book of Record holder, Kevin “Zarkman” Medina who easily demonstrated to the crowd how to finish, not just a jawbreaker burger but a WHOLE jawbreaker large meal in under 5 minutes. The record holder even shared how he centers and prepares himself whenever he’s up to take on the 5-minute food wipe-out challenge and shared the stage with the hungry music crowd, ready to take on the challenge with him.

It was a smooth and eventful Zark’s Fest comeback with the Filipino music fans showing that despite the West and K-Pop dominating the music scene today, we are still here as ever loyal to our own, standing and chillin’ in a dedicated OPM music line-up, enduring the hot summer noon until midnight, all the while enjoying good music, good company and some burgers on the side– a typical bayanihan/family event of the world’s dubbed best concert crowd.

Chris Hemsworth and Sam Hargrave starts ‘EXTRACTION 2’ global tour in Manila

Australian actor, Chris Hemsworth was in Manila to promote Netflix’s “EXTRACTION 2,” which is the sequel to the massive streaming app’s smash action flick “Extraction.”

Chris Hemsworth and the film’s director, Sam Hargrave, have flown to Manila for the Asia Pacific premiere of EXTRACTION 2, an action thriller film set to premiere on June 16th. It was their first trip to Manila, and they were greeted cordially by the locals at the press conference and red carpet screening of their film, as well as by celebrities, journalists, and fans from the region.

Just being here makes me happy. Chris thanked the crowd for their reception during the June 5 press conference. Sam was just as ecstatic to be back in the country, and he spoke highly of his follow-up film. Referring to the follow-up to one of Netflix’s most popular films, he exclaimed, “This is even bigger and larger and more exciting.”

“I feel excited to be here. Thank you very much for the warm welcome,” Chris said during the media conference.

Chris also described the craziest thing that he did for “Extraction 2,” which was to land a helicopter on a moving train.

“We look at each other, and we say, how can we push each other to do something that we will be proud of 10 years from now and try to make it memorable for the fans?” Sam explained.

“I certainly knew that Sam was going to recreate the action in a massive way and step it up a notch again. But what people won’t expect is the emotional journey and the relationships in the film,” Chris added.

Hundreds of Hemsworth’s devoted followers were given the opportunity to see and some lucky fans were able to speak with the actor. The fact that the event was attended by celebrities from both domestic and foreign, contributed to the evening’s glitz and excitement.

Chris portrays the role of Tyler Rake in the action movie “Extraction 2.” Tyler comes back as the Australian black operations mercenary after barely surviving the events of the first movie. This time, he is assigned another dangerous assignment, which is to rescue the wounded family of a brutal Georgian mobster from the prison where they are being imprisoned.

SAOSIN to Take Philippines on an Explosive Music Journey in November
Let’s set off our emo hearts and prepare to bang our heads to the tune of the tracks of one of the most sought-after American rock bands, SAOSIN, as they head to the Philippines with a massive tour!

PULP Live World together with Skesh Entertainment proudly announces SAOSIN ASIA TOUR 2023 LIVE IN MANILA happening on November 3, Friday, and November 4, Saturday at Skydome, SM City North EDSA. SAOSIN originated in Orange County, California in 2003. Since its inception, the band has released three studio albums, three extended plays (EPs), and eight singles. Their second studio album, In Search of Solid Ground, and third studio album, Along The Shadow, followed the success of their previous album and singles. Aside from sold-out albums, SAOSIN’s career soared as they went on consecutive tours from the US going all the way to Europe, Asia, and Australia. It was indeed a triumphant story since they are a band who started as front liners of other bands and then, they get to travel around the globe as they headline huge music festivals and do their solo shows.

In 2023, SAOSIN is set to conquer Asia, including Manila as one of their stops, with a gigantic solo show that will surely trigger nostalgia in the hearts of their long-time fans. Cast of “Cutie Pie The Series” Invites Fans to their Manila Fan Meeting
On June 17, 2023, the talented cast of the Thai drama series “Cutie Pie” will be hosting their fan meeting in Manila, titled “CUTIE PIE: 1st FAN MEETING IN MANILA 2023” in Aliw Theater, Pasay City.

Directed by Aoftion Kittipat Jampa, the 12-episode “Cutie Pie The Series” revolves around two childhood friends – Lian and Kuea – who are pledged to each other in marriage by their families. While one of them is eager to explore their relationship, the other does not share the same sentiment until love’s arrow strikes their hearts.

“NuNew” Chawarin Perdpiriyawong plays the role of Kuea Keerati, an engineering student who’s passionate about music. Kuea wants his fiancé and family to think of him as agreeable and obedient, so he’s keeping the truth about his studies and music career from his family a secret. Playing as his fiance Lian Kilen Wang is “Zee” Pruk Panich. Lian is a mature and sophisticated man who manages his family’s business, including a popular nightclub. Although Lian doesn’t seem enthusiastic about their relationship, he still wants to marry Kuea out of family obligations.

NuNew and Zee are excited to meet their Filipino fans in an evening full of on-stage chemistry and play games on stage with lucky fans. They will be joined by fellow cast members “Nat” Natasitt Uareksit (Khondiao), “Max” Saran Rujeerattanavorapan (Yi), “Yim” Pharinyakorn Khansawa (Syn), and “Tutor” Koraphat Lamnoi (Nuer). Oh, Flamingo! curates own music festival to celebrate decade-long milestone

Oh, Flamingo! will mark their tenth year in the music scene with a festival, a concert, an anniversary tribute, and a fan’s day all rolled into one!

Dubbed Oh, Flamingo!: 10th Birthday, the event aims to commemorate their decade-long milestone as a band. Aside from headlining their show, the Filipino alt-rock outfit will deliver a career-spanning performance filled with notable crowd favorites and new songs off their recently released album, Pagtanda.

The music show will also feature sets by some of their peers and contemporaries in the music industry, including The Itchyworms, Ang Bandang Shirley, Ourselves The Elves, Ena Mori, DJ Love, SPIT, The One Pesos, and T33G33.

“We’ve always looked forward to celebrating our 10th anniversary,” the Two Feet act shares. “We’ve been mounting our shows and launches in the past, but it’s always been just the four of us. This year, we are blessed to have GNN on board to make the show the best that it could be.”

Oh, Flamingo!: 10th Birthday is set to take place at 123 Block in Mandala Park, Mandaluyong City on July 15, 2023 (Saturday), from 4 pm onwards.

The highly anticipated gathering also serves as the band’s way of thanking their followers for their unconditional love and support and for being part of their journey all these years.
