    SB19’s PABLO opens 2024 with genre-blurring single “DETERMINADO”

    SB19’s PABLO is back with another bop! Blending hip-hop with rock music influences, the prolific songwriter/producer teams up with his brother Josue on this astounding new jam.

    Filipino singer-songwriter/producer Pablo blurs the line between hip-hop and rock on the new single “DETERMINADO,” his first offering this year under Sony Music Entertainment.

    Produced by his brother Josue, the genre-averse track pushes experimentation as far as it can go while retaining the La Luna act’s distinct qualities as an artist who is comfortable in his own identity and sonic direction.

    Speaking highly of his favorite collaborator, PABLO praised Josue for infusing game-changing ideas during the incubation period of the track and allowing him to shine with a solid production style that doesn’t necessarily have to be confined to trends.

    “We’re a team, we always work hand in hand, always learning from each other, and drawing inspiration back and forth,” said the multi-talented soloist. “We grew up in the same environment so we just vibe and connect easily.”

    Integrating dense instrumentation with gloomy synths and booming, confrontational beats, “DETERMINADO” not only impresses listeners with its scale and ambition but also reveals a different side of the SB19 vocalist and main rapper: someone who finds moments of vulnerability and strength in the face of chaos. In the words of PABLO himself, “It’s a realization when we find the courage to actually do what we want, and what kind of artist we aspire to be. We are confronting our fears and roadblocks, but still moving forward.”

    Determined to jumpstart a new phase in his career, PABLO is more confident in his undertaking as a musician, going to a sonic space that remains untouched even by his contemporaries and peers.

    Aside from “DETERMINADO,” PABLO is also gearing up for a more exciting 2024. He’s looking into dropping more solo releases apart from his work with SB19, and possibly a debut album to be released soon.

    Filipino teams stand tall as Group Stages conclude in Asia Pacific Predator League 2024 Grand Finals

    MANILA (January 12, 2024) The Asia Pacific Predator League 2024 Grand Finals kicked off with an electrifying display of skill and high-octane matches throughout the Group Stages. The Filipino teams have emerged as formidable contenders as the Group Stages reached its conclusion. This premier esports tournament pits 26 VALORANT and Dota 2 teams from the region as they vie for the coveted Predator Shield and the lion’s share of the $200,000 prize pool.

    In Dota 2, Filipino powerhouses Blacklist Rivalry and Execration have successfully advanced to the semi-finals, solidifying their positions among the elite.

    Blacklist Rivalry, led by world-renowned midlane Abed Yusop, lived up to high expectations, dominating Group A with an impressive 4-0 record. The methodical gameplay was on full display as they systematically dismantled opponents, averaging only 30 minutes per match. Not merely a one-man show, offlaner Kim ‘Gabbi’ Santos similarly demonstrated exceptional form, accumulating 59 assists across their matches.


    Execration, despite sharing a group with the dominant Blacklist Rivalry, also secured a spot in the semi-finals. The squad dropped only a single game, facing defeat against the stars of Blacklist Rivalry. Execration secured victories against Malaysian team Mythic Avenue Gaming, fellow Filipino squad ZOL Esports, and India-based Whoops, with Mark ‘Bob’ Urbino leading the charge with an impressive 11 KDA ratio.

    On the other side of the bracket, Team Aster from China topped Group B behind Gu ‘Han’ Jiahan’s performance in the midlane. The Chinese team lost only one match in the Group Stages against fellow semi-finalist IHC Esports. The Mongolians continue to show their constantly improving quality in Dota 2, as they continue to have magical moments in LAN events throughout the year.

    In VALORANT, Philippine juggernaut Team Secret emerged unscathed in Group D, delivering dominant performances against Malaysian side TODAK and Singapore’s Ender Dragon. Unfortunately, other Filipino squads Oasis Gaming and ZOL Esports, couldn’t progress beyond their respective groups.

    Team Secret will face off against Team Flash from Vietnam, Japan’s FAV Gaming, and BOOM Esports from Indonesia. FAV Gaming and BOOM Esports were undefeated in Group A and Group C, respectively.

    With two more action-packed days of high-level competition coming this weekend, it will be another Thrilla in Manila at the SM MOA Arena on January 13 and 14, 2024.

    Five years since his last visit to the Philippines, South Korean singer-actor Park Hyung Sik is looking forward to his return to the country, bringing along his Asia fan meeting tour to his local fans next month.

    With an upcoming drama, Doctor Slump, in the lineup of his 2024 projects, Park Hyung Sik heralds a busy year ahead. Adding to the list of his activities this year, the singer-actor also takes the stage once again and meets his fans through the 2023-2024 Asia Tour Fan Meeting SIKcret Time.

    The fan meeting tour, which came in time for his 13th debut anniversary, will see him come back to the Philippines on February 17, 2024, at the Araneta Coliseum. Although he admitted feeling nervous, he shared his excitement to reunite with his Filipino fans whom he remembered for their passionate cheers and support in his previous visits to the country. The actor also expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet more of his fans on a bigger stage and hinted at performing his drama OSTs.

    Park Hyung Sik is also set to meet his fans as Yeo Jeong Woo through the upcoming drama, Doctor Slump, which reunited him with his The Heirs co-star, Park Shin Hye. He described the drama as a comforting show with his character projecting a positive energy in handling conflicts and challenges in life. Viewers can also anticipate his chemistry with Park Shin Hye as their characters’ relationship blossoms from friends to lovers.

    Looking back on his previous dramas, the singer-actor said he finds parts of his personality among the characters he played. He named his Strong Girl Bong Soon well-loved role as Ahn Min Hyuk as the one he closely resembles. “The way he jokes around is the way I am with my friends,” he shared. After more than a decade since he made his acting debut, the singer-actor continues to aim to show different sides of himself through the acting projects he partakes in.     Five Albums. One Night. The World Tour. The Jonas Brothers will make their way back to the local concert scene after more than a decade this February 2024!

    After more than a decade since their 2012 performance in the nation, it’s now time to welcome Kevin, Joe, and Nick—the Jonas Brothers—back to the Philippine concert scene. On February 22, 2024, the trio will bring The Tour to the SM MOA Arena.

    Ovation Productions announced the band’s return with their 12th ongoing world tour in celebration of their sixth studio album, The Album. The news was welcomed with great excitement by the fans who had been anticipating their return to our shores for live performances. Songs from five of the band’s studio albums—Jonas Brothers (2007), A Little Bit Longer (2008), Lines, Vines and Trying Times (2009), Happiness Begins (2019), and The Album (2023)—will be performed at the one-night-only concert.

    Comprising of Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas, Jonas Brothers are an American pop-rock group that was founded in 2005. The group has six albums out, the most recent being The Album, their sixth studio album, which came out on May 12, 2023.

    Music critics praised the album for its feel-good, summery feelings and nostalgic touches. With lyrics about savoring life, parenthood, and their relationships, the band intended the record to mirror their current mental condition.     SACRA MUSIC has released a new single from esteemed composer HIROYUKI SAWANO’s vocal project SawanoHiroyuki[nZk] featuring global K-pop superstars TOMORROW X TOGETHER entitled “LEveL.”

    Featured as the opening theme to the newly debuted TV animation SOLO LEVELING, the track includes a distinctive rhythm and addictive sound composed by Sawano and complemented by guest vocals from TOMORROW x TOGETHER, who perfectly match the series’ powerful, high-speed storyline.

    Known for his musical contributions to numerous anime series, TV dramas, and films including Attack on Titan, Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash, and Promare, Sawano was tasked with both Solo Leveling’s opening theme as well as the series’ original score music. The hugely anticipated series made its worldwide debut last weekend and is based on the Korean novel and comic of the same name (Original Work: DUBU (REDICE STUDIO), Chugong, h-goon [D&C Webtoon Biz.]), which has become an international hit.

    Money Heist spin-off Berlin has consistently claimed its spot in Netflix’s top series category since its launch on December 29, 2023 and for good reason: it stars none other than fan-favorite Berlin (Pedro Alonso) and introduces his “old” thrilling crew consisting of code virtuoso Keila (Michelle Jenner), engineering and physics academic Damián (Tristan Ulloa), locksmith Roi (Julio Peña Fernández), gadget and weapon expert Bruce (Joel Sánchez), and enigma Cameron (Begoña Vargas).

    While set years before the daring heist at The Royal Mint of Spain, Berlin has orchestrated a captivating reunion of sorts for fans by bringing back some iconic characters from the original series including Raquel Murillo (Itziar Ituńo) and Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri).

    Showrunners Álex Pina and Esther Martinez unveil a fresh perspective regarding this prequel and share that while Berlin’s a “lighter” take on the beloved series, its emphasis on “love” is what makes it unique from the original material: “We always look for elements that really connect with the viewer, and love is one of those elements. And there are so many facets to love. In fact, the story shows a range of types of love in which the characters vie to show different moments of love, to show different situations.”

    Echoing the showrunners’ sentiments, Berlin titular character actor Pedro Alonso has this to say about the project and his character in this prequel: “I’ve often heard that Berlin is a cynic. Not at all. He’s sarcastic, he has a diabolically dark sense of humor, and he can be fascinating, a real prick, whatever you want, but not a cynic. He’s a man who’s committed to rediscovering a great life, falling in love in the face of common sense and logic. A man who’s made to love, in spite of everything.”

    In addition to the fresh and gripping narrative, Berlin captivates audiences with its breathtaking scenic spots, with the series being shot in 146 locations within numerous provinces of Spain like Madrid, Almeria, and León and in the romantic city of Paris. The show dazzled with scenes filmed in iconic Parisian landmarks such as the Church of Saint Julien Le Pauvre, Château d’ Ormesson-sur-Marne, Sacré Coeur, and other streets of Montmartre.

    The K-concert scene in the Philippines got the best start with a captivating show from one of K-Pop’s best vocalists, Yesung, leading the year’s live events.

    Super Junior’s Yesung started the 2024 K-concert scene here in the Philippines as he performed for one special night at the New Frontier Theater for the YESUNG SOLO CONCERT ‘UNFADING SENSE’ IN MANILA last January 6, 2024.

    The night began with ELFs passionately singing along to “Song for You” by Super Junior, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening with Yesung.

    Opening the show with the enchanting “Scented Things,” Yesung captivated the audience, creating a beautiful start to a memorable night. The melancholic melodies of “Forenever” and “Silhouette” filled the venue, showcasing his versatile vocal prowess.

    In his first ment, the Super Junior expressed happiness, greeting PH ELFs warmly. He followed with the soulful “No More Love” and the heart-fluttering performance of “Butterfly.” “Moment” marked a truly cherishable part of the night.

    Transitioning to a lighter mood with “Floral Sense,” Yesung, now wearing specs, continued brightening the atmosphere with “Beautiful.” The second ment was filled with heartfelt moments, leading to the slowed-down rendition of “4 Seasons” and the lively crowd engagement during his “HO” performance, which was his song featuring NCT’s Mark Lee.

    Yesung took a sentimental turn with “Like Us” and the nostalgic “It Has to Be You” from the Korean drama, Cinderella’s Sister. The emotional journey continued with “Bear Hug” and the intense electric guitar sounds of “Lost Heart (Corazon Perdido)”.

    In the third ment, Yesung playfully interacted with his fans, expressing admiration for the energetic crowd, also playfully mentioning to keep their eyes on him and not on their phones all the time. He also hinted at the possibility of returning this year in Manila.

    A fan-made VCR featuring Yesung’s photocards and mini doll and Super Junior’s lightstick at iconic Philippine locations added a personal touch to the concert experience. He then revisited “Like Us” and serenaded the crowd with “Together,” accompanied by visuals of his beloved dogs, Kkoming and Melo. He concluded the night with his last song “I Am”.

    As Yesung bid farewell, the concert successfully inaugurated the 2024 K-Pop events in the country, leaving ELFs with anticipation for more. His playful hint about a potential return added an extra layer of excitement, promising more memorable concerts this year.

    Korean actor Park Hyung-sik today shared a video message to his Filipino fans inviting everyone to watch his 2024 Asia Tour Fan Meet “SIKcret Time” in Manila.

    The A-Lister is set to return to the Philippines for a Fan Conference on February 17, 2024 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, four years after his last visit to the country in 2019.


    “Hello to all my fans from the Philippines! This is Park Hyungsik,” he said. “Finally on February 17, 2024 at 7PM I will be seeing all of you at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. I cannot wait to see you all very soon. I hope it will be a memorable “SIKcret Time” for all.
