Through nine years of music, milestones, and shared moments, Ben&Ben’s Spotify journey shows how songs can continue to resonate with listeners long after their release.

As Ben&Ben celebrates nine years of music with the release of Nine, Spotify traces the band’s journey in its The Come Up series, exploring how their songs have continued to find listeners and new meaning, across nearly a decade.
Ben&Ben’s journey offers a different perspective on success. Rather than being defined by a single milestone, it is reflected in the enduring life of their music that continues to resonate across different chapters of the band’s journey and their fans’ lives.

Across different chapters of Ben&Ben’s Spotify journey, iconic songs continue to resonate with listeners and find new meaning across generations. In 2017, while still a duo, they became one of six Philippine artists featured in Spotify’s Early Noise program, introducing their music to listeners looking for emerging local acts. A year later, “Kathang Isip” marked another milestone in their discovery, reaching 10 million streams and landing on the cover of Pinoy Chart-Toppers, bringing the band to a wider OPM audience. By 2020, Ben&Ben had become Spotify Philippines’ Most Streamed Artist, reflecting how early discovery had translated into a deeper fan base and wider reach.
Listeners also found new ways to engage more closely with the band and their music on Spotify. For “Pebble House, Vol. 1: Kuwaderno”, Spotify launched Pebble House Corners, giving fans a virtual tour of the band house where the album was made and bringing them closer to the world behind the songs. By 2024, the band’s recognition as a decade definer at Spotify Philippines’ 10th anniversary reflected how their music had become a lasting part of Filipino music culture.
“Lifetime (Reimagined)” brought an earlier song into the band’s latest chapter, with Ben&Ben featured on the cover of Hot Hits Philippines. Now part of Nine, the track offers an example of how familiar music can find new moments of connection with listeners.
“Nine years of making music has also meant nine years of growing alongside our listeners, especially the Liwanag community. We’ve seen songs we wrote years ago become part of very different moments in our listeners’ lives, sometimes in ways we never could have imagined when we first made them. NINE is both a love letter to our listeners and a celebration of our friendship. It’s such an amazing feeling to see our songs growing with our listeners and continuing to live with them,” shared Ben&Ben.
For Spotify, Ben&Ben’s journey shows how a song can outlive its release, finding new listeners while taking on new meaning for those who have stayed with it. “Ben&Ben’s journey shows how a song can keep growing beyond the moment it was released. For Filipino listeners, music often becomes a way to remember a person, mark a milestone, or express something they can’t quite say themselves. Those connections give a song a reason to stay and to be shared with someone who hasn’t heard it yet. It reflects a uniquely powerful aspect of music fandom: how songs take on different meanings across stages of life while remaining part of a shared cultural experience. That’s why Spotify continues to create spaces for both discovery and deeper fan connection, helping listeners stay connected to the music and artists they love,” said Chesca Tan, Lead Editor for Spotify Philippines.
