MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Philippines’ biggest folk-pop band Ben&Ben will be bringing their music to Cebu, Bacolod, and Davao for the Philippine leg of their The Traveller Across Dimensions World Tour. Overseas performances will also take place in Singapore and different parts of the United States later in the year.

Tickets are already available for the May 24 show at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino, with announcements for the June 8 show at the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod and the June 22 performance at the SMX Convention Center in Davao to come in the next few weeks.

Meanwhile, tickets for the Singapore show at the Arena@Expo on December 14, as well as those for the performance at the Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, California on July 12 are also available for purchase. Additional show dates and venues will be announced as they become final.

For the tour, the nine-piece band will perform tracks from their third studio album, mixed with some of their past hits. The Traveller Across Dimensions album was released on November 29, 2024, and has produced hits like Could Be Something and Tomorrow with You.

The concept album follows the story of Liwanag, the Traveller, as she journeys through three Dimensions: Light, depicting innocence; Energy, depicting struggle; and Feel, depicting maturity. She writes 12 songs along the way, which relate her experiences in each of the Dimensions.

The songs reflect the various experiences of the band members over the past several years and showcase their growth as people, as songwriters, and as musicians. While their signature indie folk sound remains, the group dishes out city pop and electric beats not present in their previous songs. As the group evolves, so do their stories and their music.

“We are excited to bring the songs from The Traveller Across Dimensions to various stages all over the Philippines and the world. It is a privilege to be able to perform for our Liwanag community in different parts of the country, as well as in Singapore and the US,” Ben&Ben said. “We are also grateful for the support of our tour promotions team for paving the way for us to spread light and love to music lovers beyond Philippine shores through our songs. We look forward to seeing all of you in our shows.”

Ben&Ben Reconnects with Ed Sheeran at Off Limits Festival in Abu Dhabi Ahead of His New Single Release!

Filipino award-winning band Ben&Ben shared another heartwarming moment with global superstar Ed Sheeran at the recently concluded OFFLIMITS Music Festival in Abu Dhabi.

“We felt the luckiest to be able to meet Ed Sheeran again in Off Limits Festival, Abu Dhabi. What constantly blows us away more than his generational talent and sheer musicality is the genuine, warm connection he makes with everyone he meets, including us.
He recalled how lovely it was for him to be able to perform for Filipinos. He also remembered us from when we met him here in Manila, which is very cool. It’s an honor to have been able to exchange stories with him again. We wish Ed all the best with his new album, Play!” – Paolo Guico, Ben&Ben

The band shared a lighthearted moment, revealing, “Mabango siya [Ed smelled good].” Their admiration for Ed’s effortless charm and presence was evident, with the band members recalling how his natural charisma and positive energy filled the room.

Ben&Ben graced the stage alongside international acts such as Ed Sheeran, Kaiser Chiefs, and OneRepublic at Etihad Park on April 26th. Adding to the memorable experience, the nine-piece band and Ed Sheeran were captured in a friendly photo together backstage.

Prior to the festival, the band posted a captivating cover of Ed Sheeran’s recent release “Azizam,” which garnered significant attention. Ed Sheeran himself acknowledged the cover by sharing it on his Instagram story, leading many of his dedicated fans to discover and express their admiration for Ben&Ben’s musical talent on their social media pages.

This recent encounter in Abu Dhabi marks another special connection between the Filipino band and the British singer-songwriter. On March 9, 2024, Ben&Ben had the distinct honor of performing as a special guest during Ed Sheeran’s “+ – = ÷ x Tour” at the SMDC Festival Grounds in the Philippines.

Recalling the cherished moments from their previous meeting, Ben&Ben took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a concise yet impactful summary:

    “1. We met Ed Sheeran.
    2. We did Karaoke with him.
    3. We performed on his iconic round stage.
    4. Our frontmen performed our song, Maybe The Night WITH Ed Sheeran and his amazing band.”

Ed Sheeran has kicked off an exciting new era with the release of his latest single, Old Phone,” which dropped on May 1. He first teased the emotional track with a live snippet shared on Instagram, giving fans a taste of what’s to come. Now available on all major streaming platforms—including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music—the song sets the tone for what promises to be a bold new chapter.

That chapter continues with his upcoming album, Play, arriving on September 12, 2025. Moving on from his Mathematics series, Sheeran explores fresh creative ground, weaving together global influences—from Indian and Persian sounds to the Irish folk traditions of his roots—while staying true to the acoustic and lyrical style fans love. Written and recorded across the globe and finished in Goa, Play is as much about emotional healing as it is about rediscovering joy through music.

  • Ben&Ben finds meaning in impermanence on new single “COMETS”

Ben&Ben finds meaning in impermanence on new single “COMETS”

The emotionally captivating track is penned by Paolo Benjamin and Miguel Benjamin, and co-produced by Indonesia’s Petra Sihombing.

Multi-awarded Filipino band Ben&Ben invites listeners on a journey of self-introspection with the release of their new 2024 single “COMETS,” out today via Sony Music Entertainment.

“COMETS” is an emotional track that conveys the ephemeral nature of relationship fallouts and disconnections. While the song looks back at memories with mixed feelings of loss and pensiveness, the experience that it brings offers a bright promise of hope and acceptance, no matter the result.

“Though mostly dwelling on that feeling of loss, the song ends with the hopeful realization of gratitude—being thankful for ever having experienced any of it at all,” Ben&Ben explains in a press statement.

According to Paolo Benjamin and Miguel Benjamin, the songwriters’ behind “COMETS,” the pop-rock tune was inspired by the many losses of people that they’ve encountered in different parts of their lives over the past four years: breakups, end of friendships, parting ways with professional relationships.

“With each loss comes a painful process of asking why the nature of life is as such,” reveals Ben&Ben. “The answer is hardly ever straightforward but reveals itself over long periods of time. COMETS is an expression of that very journey, and hopes to help the listener through these realities in their lives too.”

“COMETS” has undergone several iterations since the band started jamming it together in late 2021. The Filipino band admits that it’s one of the songs they’ve spent the longest trying to fine-tune and play around with, in terms of arrangement and song structure. Eventually, Ben&Ben found the right musical direction and vision for the song, pulling from their own experience of loss to settle on a version that they’re most comfortable working with.

The Sa Susunod Na Habang Buhay hitmakers eventually recruited Indonesian producer Petra Sihombing to be part of the project, adding final but pivotal touches to the track.

“He flew in to help us bring the song to the next level, with his own additions in both the arrangement and post-production of the track,” the nine-piece collective recounts. “The band probably had about 90% of the song down, but it was Petra’s very weighty 10% that really helped make the song what it is now.”

    A message to LIWANAG

The band hopes that LIWANAG, their fanbase, would resonate with the parting words of the song, particularly the lines, “though these nights are turning gray, still I am thankful for what’s passed I know there will come a day when I will finally understand.” For Ben&Ben, gratitude and hope can come without totally understanding the “whys” behind it all.

“We’re on the same journey of finding these answers ourselves — of why life is fleeting. And with that hope comes the strength and courage we need to keep going, to keep loving, and to keep on finding meaning in our experiences.”

Ben&Ben’s “COMETS” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.

  • Clark Aurora Music Fest: A Two-Day OPM Extravaganza

Clark Aurora Music Fest: A Two-Day OPM Extravaganza

If you weren’t in Clark Global City, Pampanga on April 16 and 17, you might have missed out on one of the most fun you would ever get to have this summer. Presented by EP!C Events, the Clark Aurora Music Fest featured some of the hottest Filipino acts and bands including December Avenue, Ben & Ben, Kamikazee, Parokya ni Edgar and Ely Buendia. The two-day music festival drew in an estimated total of 120,000 people who jumped and partied tirelessly. On center stage, bands played one by one, the stage with full-on spotlights, smoke machines, a disco ball and a giant LED screen.  On the side was a scenic view of hot air balloons floating amidst the sunset until the night sky. Nothing quite like it, to be honest.

The first day of the festival had a more chill, youthful vibe, featuring buzzing acts who are popular with the Gen-Z. Soft, acoustic ballads laden with bittersweet falsettos were the evening’s soundtrack. Amazingly, the fifty-thousand-strong crowd was heartily singing along to each artist.

First up was the eighteen-year old Cebu-based musician mrld, also known as Meriel De Jesus, whose presence immediately excited the crowd. She performed “Ligaya”, “Ikaw Pa Rin” and “An Art Gallery Could Never Be As Unique As You”.

Lola Amour turned the tables with their refreshing mix of pop, rock and funk. The band, armed with their brass instruments and witty lyrical quips, performed  “Pwede Ba”, “dahan-dahan” and “Fallen”.

Next on the spotlight was another talented singer/songwriter Adie who mesmerized the crowd with songs like “Dungaw”, “Paraluman” and “Tahanan”. He was joined by Janine Berdin for their collab track “Mahika”.

When it was Arthur Nery’s turn on stage, he received a lot of screams. Hailing from Cagayan de Oro, the suave singer stood out with his smooth falsettos.  “Higa”, “Isa Lang” and “Pagsamo” were some of the songs he performed that evening.

As the night grew deeper, band December Avenue opened their set with a question, “Anong level of pain ang gusto niyo?” While that initially seemed to be a joke, we soon discovered that it really wasn’t. The alternative rock band that has been in the industry since 2007  is known for their heartrendingly sad songs of cinematic proportions. When they performed that night, they captivated a whole sea of people to sing along with (extreme) feelings to songs like  “Bulong” “Kung Di Rin Lang Ikaw” and “Huling Sandali”.

Folk pop band Ben & Ben was up for the finale and as always, they made it worth everyone’s time. Fireworks decorated the midnight sky while “Langyang Pag-ibig” burst into the airwaves. All nine members were visibly ecstatic to play for the crowd, thanking them for staying until the late hours just to see them play. The band also played an unreleased song “Comets” which reflects the musings of a lost love.

The second day of Clark Aurora Music Fest was when they brought out the electric guitars and large amps. The acts for the evening were the mainstays of many millennials’ playlist when they were younger.

In the afternoon, the show opened with pop-punk/emo bands Lunar Lights and Written in the Stars.

By evening, Silent Sanctuary, armed with their string instruments, took the stage. In an instant, the crowd became a huge karaoke wave. The band played a handful of songs from their 2007 album Fuchsiang Pag-ibig which launched them to mainstream popularity with songs like “14”, “Kundiman” “Rebound” and  “Ikaw Lamang”. In the middle of their set, frontman Sarkie Sarangay announced that he was looking for a certain person. Apparently, this person contacted them beforehand to ask permission to propose to his girlfriend. The couple got engaged in the middle of the crowd, with spotlights upon them.

Spongecola had a lot of surprises under their sleeves. While anyone would expect them to just play music, Yael Yuzon did a lot more than that – he was all about making a connection with the audience. He pulled in a crowd of fifty to sixty thousands with his theatrics. Seeing him introduce a song felt like watching a musical with a strong narrative. The crowd was more than willing to humor him as they jumped around and sang excitedly to the classic Spongecola songs like  “Tuliro” “Bitiw” “Tambay” and the ever favorite “Jeepney”.

Leave it to Kamikazee to be the wildcard in any concert. Jay Contreras was a radiant ball of energy onstage as he jumped high in the air, did headstands, threw his clothes (jacket and shoes) to the crowd, stripper-danced and climbed up the side railings. (Yes, all those things happened during their set.) The audience sang along to “Unang Tikim”, “Martyr Nyebera”, “Huling Sayaw” and “Narda”. As a bonus, they gave in to the crowd’s encore request with “Doo Bidoo”.

Mayonnaise also made their mark during their set as they revved up the crowd with their hard-hitting songs like “Bakit Part 2”, “Tayo na Lang Dalawa” and the resurging smash hit “Jopay”. The band has been celebrating their 20th anniversary by going on tours across the Philippines. They’re currently in Canada.

The much-awaited OPM titans Parokya ni Edgar was a joy to watch. For their introduction, Chito Miranda said in his mild-mannered tone, “dahil late na, ito na po ang last song namin”. Thankfully, it was a joke. The band played an engaging set including some of their most popular hits like “Buloy”, “Para Sa’yo”, “Harana” and “Your Song”. One highlight of the evening was when Chito also called two people from the audience to perform “Bagkasan” with him. The two fans nailed Gloc 9’s and Francis M’s parts, much to everyone’s surprise. The band also took time to thank everyone who supported their guitarist Gab Chee Kee who was hospitalized recently due to complications caused by lymphoma. For their closing, Kamikazee joined them onstage to perform “Halaga”.

The last act for the festival was Ely Buendia. The Eraserheads frontman performed a number of the band’s best hits including “Spoliarium”, “Pare Ko”, “Overdrive”  and “Magasin” which unequivocally got everyone singing. He also revealed that the Heads have been practicing for their upcoming US tour. For the grand finale, he played “Ang Huling El Bimbo” as fireworks bloomed in the background.

Clark Aurora Music Fest was a great weekend experience. Seeing some of the rising OPM stars as well as the great OPM legends was worth the time and the trip. Hoping next year will be even grander!

    Special thanks to EP!C Events!
