SEOUL – December 3, 2021 – 21st century pop icons BTS dropped a brand new holiday remix of “Butter” today.

The new remix is a carol pop genre track that underscores the trademark bright energy of the original version with an added touch of warmth and coziness reminiscent of a festive ambience, just in time for the holiday season.

Earlier this year, BTS topped the Billboard Hot 100 for ten weeks with “Butter,” a global mega-hit dubbed 2021’s song of the summer. The song also earned BTS “Artist of the Year” award at the 2021 American Music Awards. In addition, the septet received their second “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” Grammy nomination with the track. BTS released the remix to express their gratitude for the enthusiastic support and love from their beloved fans, ARMY.

The band recently reunited with their fans through ‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA,’ their first offline concert since 2019, at LA’s SoFi Stadium on November 27, November 28, December 1, and December 2.

    LESHA TRANSCENDS WITH ELEVEN:ELEVEN

And the clock strikes at 11:11, you can’t help but to whisper a wish. They call it Angel Numbers and the possibilities to see it are endless. Just keep your eyes open and you’ll definitely notice them. For the fast rising electro pop artist, Lesha, these numbers have a different effect on her.

Asked on what Lesha usually whispers silently when the clock hits repeating number sequences, “Literally anything! I usually like manifesting career or life opportunities because 11:11 is actually a reminder from your angels to reflect on your purpose.”

Lesha taking on tougher challenges at this point in her career and setting her motivation conquering the bigger stage. All that she can say is that she’s currently living the dream and she’s just open to whatever the Universe has in store for her next.

“At this point where I am on a journey on breaking it into the International stage, represent the Filipino music industry globally, and hopefully on a world tour. With all that I’ve achieved so far, I’m deeply humbled and somehow extremely in awed of how far I’ve come in my career. Never in my life I would’ve expected to release a global collaboration album or be under Lauv or Finneas’ label, AWAL.”

BLASTER essays the profound sadness and grief of celebrating the holidays on new song “PASKO’Y HINDI NA MASAYA”

Listen to BLASTER’s “PASKOY’ HINDI NA MASAYA”: https://BLASTERSILONGA.lnk.to/PHNM

Filipino experimental/alternative artist BLASTER redefines the Christmas tune canon with a new single that essays the profound sadness and grief of celebrating the holidays in the time of pandemic.
His latest offering “PASKO’Y HINDI NA MASAYA,” out today via Island Records Philippines, is dedicated to countless of people whose lives were hit hard by unfortunate circumstances, and are dreading of how challenging the days might be—be it experiencing Christmas with the loss of a loved one or abandoning expectations at least for this season’s run as a way of coping.

“This one is not really about celebrating Christmas,” says the eclectic singer-songwriter and producer. “It’s more of a tribute to those that we’ve lost, and a nostalgic yearning of how Christmas used to be.”
While BLASTER’s “PASKO’Y HINDI NA MASAYA” doesn’t fall under the conventional holiday songs that articulate the merry warmth of the yuletide spirit, the modern day anthem gives a sobering reality to some folks who happen to experience Christmas in a different light, recognizing sadness and nostalgia as they find a way to rise above life’s obstacles.
With production by BLASTER himself and Max Cinco, “PASKO’Y HINDI NA MASAYA” retains the sparse but innovative musical direction that the prolific artist is known for. But what makes it extra special is BLASTER’s ability to cut across universal themes with a balance of accessibility and experimentation.
“I decided to make it sound old and new, while maintaining some classic melodies in the mix,” shares the Disko Forever act. “I’ve also incorporated some electronic and synth elements to give it a more contemporary flavor. In terms of lyrics, Dan Tanedo helped me with writing the song.”
The holiday track will be accompanied by a music video featuring a compilation of old Christmas videos from the 80s and 90s.

BLASTER’s “Pasko’y Hindi Na Masaya” is out now on all streaming platforms worldwide via Island Records Philippines
With a knack for making experimental pop music that is characterized by immutable prettiness, BLASTER is set to show himself as a solo artist. As the lead guitarist for his former band IV of Spades,  Blaster has  endeared  fans  and  peers  in  the  industry with  his  inventive  but  technically adept musicianship.
Outside  of  his  work  with  his  former  band,  Blaster  has  worked  with  several  artists, including doing  production  work  for  alt-R&B  artist dia maté on the luscious summertime tune, “Dream,” and jamming with artists such as Ebe Dancel and Hilera’s Chris Padilla at  some  point  in  his career.

Now  signed  to  Island  Records  Philippines,  BLASTER is  ready  to  release new  music  that  strikes a  balance  between remarkable  restraint  and sonic  adventurousness, seemingly  inspired  by  outlandish  personalities  in  music  such  as  Radiohead  and  David  Bowie, and  genres  that  range  from  art  rock  to  space  rock,  funk  to Japanese city  pop.
So  far,  he has currently recorded demos for his upcoming releases, which will see the light of day soon: there’s the deceptively simple “Disko Forever,” which pays tribute to a glorious era in music, while also dressing  it  up  with  woozily  beautiful  things  this  side  of  Krautrock  and  modern  electronica,  and the  lighthearted and gorgeous number “Nararamdaman,” which showcases Blaster’s minimal instrumentation and guitar/bass skills.

The 21-year-old singer-songwriter and producer also reveals that he is channeling his daily life experiences and random observations through music, purposefully aligning it with his brooding, socially  aware, and  intimate  worldview.  His  writing  feels  more  personal  and  honest  this  time around—not afraid to create artistic statements that double as confessionals.

  • VVS Collective celebrates women from the countryside with pop-rap crossover “Probinsyana”

VVS Collective celebrates women from the countryside with pop-rap crossover “Probinsyana”

Promising hip-hop quartet VVS Collective pays tribute to the women of the countryside whose distinct looks, effortless grace, and captivating intelligence redefine conventional standards of beauty.

On their lilting anthem “Probinsyana,” the rap crew delivers a romantic serenade for every ‘country’ lass who took their breath away in recent years.

Probinsyana is a feel-good track which many Filipinos can relate to,” the group describes the appeal of their latest single. “It’s about searching and pursuing that dream girl who lives in the suburbs or the province. It expounds on the qualities of a province girl who’s simple yet has everything you’re looking for in a girl. With the thousands of islands that the Philippines has, the track will surely transcend to all Probinsyanas all over the country.”

What makes it extra special is their attempt to take a stand against urbanite snobbery and Manila-centrism in a song that celebrates women of all kinds, regardless of their geographical and social background.

    Watch: https://VVSCollective.lnk.to/Probinsyana_MV

As Gabrang puts it, “let’s face it: there’s prejudice here in Manila towards Bisaya/Probinsyano. We see people make fun of them, and sometimes, they’re treated as inferior because of the way they talk, their skin color, and their background. Probinsyana is our way to boost their confidence, and celebrate their inner beauty and captivating uniqueness. I hope it inspires them to look things differently and be proud of who they are and where they come from.”

If the sparkly, pop-infused single is any indication, VVS Collective proves that they are primed for mainstream crossover—thanks to their incredible ear for hooks and melodies, and the lyrical sincerity that they effortlessly bring to the table.

King Promdi, who is part of the hip-hop group, produced the track and incorporated a sticky, ear-candy of a chorus deserving of a viral TikTok dance. The result is a summer jam for all seasons whose catchiness is hard to ignore.

VVS Collective’s “Probinsyana” is out now on all streaming platforms via Def Jam Philippines.

  • Lesha on route to International Stage

Lesha on route to International Stage

This girl is unstoppable. Yes! You heard it right! Fast rising electropop artist Lesha is moving towards a higher level. Finally, this generational pop personality decides to spread her wings and become the captain of her own ship. But in this case, her musical career by joining AWAL, a prestigious British music distribution company and take note one of the renowned label worldwide. Currently, AWAL houses the world’s biggest names in the music industry like Lauv, Finneas, BANKS, girl in red, deadmau5, Tom Misch, The Wombats, mxmtoon, and more! She’s excited to share with everyone the good news.

“I chose to make the bold move of going fully independent again and teaming up with AWAL for my music distribution, because I felt it was the right thing to do,” Lesha enthuses.

Let’s just say it was fate that has made a way for Lesha to navigate her path. Being an independent artist, Lesha always wanted to explore her musicality and freedom being known as a DIY type of artist and having built her career and artistry around that. Through the years, she has shown her audience that an artist can thrive in the music industry without being backed up by the big machinery a label can provide.

She gave a little background on her new international affiliation. “Not all artists can get accepted because AWAL only selects artists with a trajectory and notable milestones. I went through an application process and after 5 days, I got an acceptance email from the team! AWAL empowers independent artists by giving them full control and ownership over their work. As an artist that cares so much about my artistry and rights, being with AWAL was truly a match made in heaven.”

UK Singer-Songwriter Lewis Maxwell (Right) and Bahrain based Music Producer Ghauri (Left)

There’s another good news that Lesha wants to share. Lesha is debuting her next track entitled “Twin Flames”. Just like her previous songs, this one is a surefire hit as she got to collaborate with two International music icons– UK Singer-Songwriter Lewis Maxwell and Bahrain based producer Ghauri. As compared to Sun Moon Rising and Karma, Twin Flames is more of a danceable disco inspired track adding another flavor to her entire album.

“‘Twin Flames’ speaks a lot to me when it comes to my perspective on love or relationships. As much as I hate to admit it, I enjoy the thrill of the running and chasing stage and this is the song that summarizes that entire feeling for me,” Lesha explains the meaning of the song.

“The entire idea of a Twin Flame connection and how chaotic yet electric it is has always been very fascinating to me. I would read a bunch of articles about it just out of curiosity and I always wondered if I would ever find or come across my ‘Twin Flame’ but I guess that’s something I may or may not ever find out. I’m also happy that I got to work with two of the best international artists. Ghauri and I have been meaning to collaborate on a track for a while now so when he passed this track on to me I immediately got down to writing. A few weeks prior to writing this song I met Lewis and I fell in love with his voice. I just knew he’d be the perfect fit for this song so I hit him up and I was so glad he was down to work on the song with me,” she continues.

Lesha’s collaborator, UK based singer/songwriter Lewis also shared his thoughts on creating Twin Flames virtually. “I absolutely loved doing this collaboration project. It was something I’ve never done before, you know the whole cross Atlantic ocean thing that we’re on other sides of the world. The songwriting process for me was weirdly, weirdly easy. And I say that because normally when I’m writing with someone I’ve never met before it’s awkward and like when you’re writing you kind of putting like a piece of you into the song, like you can’t be afraid to say things and deal with the person. But this was something new to me. For like the first 3 hours of the call, me and Lesha spoke just about everything and she’s just such a cool girl like we weirdly had so much in common. It looks like we’re so far apart but when in fact we’re not. We just wrote together and then things just happened like we didn’t really have to try too hard.”

Things are becoming brighter for Lesha’s path. She has always believed that the best is yet to come and she’s looking forward to where the universe will take her next. She’s not in a hurry though as Lesha takes her sweet time cherishing every moment. Definitely, she is making a mark all throughout. Who knows where the tide will take her, but one thing is for sure. She’s moving towards fulfilling her dream of creating bigger than life experiences.

“I guess I can say I’ve been preparing my whole life for this. And no it’s not an over exaggeration haha! I’ve always wanted to represent the Philippines globally ever since I began performing and competing in the past. I just can’t wait for that moment to arrive and for the universe to hand me that opportunity soon.”

‘Twin Flames’ is the 3rd track of Lesha’s global collaboration visual album titled ‘SUN MOON RISING’ set to drop in early 2022 and is going to be available on all digital music streaming platforms this November 12, 2021. Check out Lesha’s music on Spotify or watch the official music videos, covers, and learn more about music production on Lesha’s YouTube Channel.

  • BLASTER makes you want to just dance with “Disko Forever (Tagalog Version)”

BLASTER makes you want to just dance with “Disko Forever (Tagalog Version)”

BLASTER’s catchy four-on-the-floor single “Disko Forever” first came out in Japanese. Now, listeners can hear this song with its original Tagalog lyrics. This version has just been released under Island Records Philippines on major streaming platforms. The single is inspired by the influential musical genre of the late 1970s, driven by BLASTER’s guitar work and distinct vocal style.

    Link here: https://BLASTERSILONGA.lnk.to/DiskoForeverTAG

BLASTER says that the song was really meant to be in Tagalog, and a friend translated it into Japanese for its initial release. When asked about this project, he commented, “Words [in translation] can change a lot in a song, so even though the words are just translated, it feels really different.” He says that the original lyrics feel more natural and flow more smoothly.

The inspiration for “Disko Forever,” BLASTER says, was hearing a certain dance track on the radio. He then recorded and produced it in his home studio. As a result, he has created a track that still remains faithful to the music that inspired it, yet adding something new which will excite listeners. His work as a solo artist, much of which is still on its way to release, aims to balance sonic adventurousness and remarkable restraint. This new release is no exception.

When asked whether this song is part of a bigger project, BLASTER said, “This is definitely a part of a bigger story.” We look forward to hearing more of this musical story. Until then, he wants us to listen to “Disko Forever” and just dance.

  • Love is a gamble in Dionela’s latest single “Sugal”

Love is a gamble in Dionela’s latest single “Sugal”

The soothing R&B track equates loving someone to betting your heart in a gamble: it’s a risky endeavor that has no assurance of winning or losing, but it’s part of growing up.

“The song is about being courageous in falling in love again after so many heartbreaks from your past toxic relationships,” the Agaw singer-songwriter/producer adds.

With his velvety vocals floating freely into the background, Dionela delivers a captivating performance that fleshes out both his persona and aesthetic. Over slick, bedroom beats and somber instrumentation, he sings as if coming from a place of innocence and earnestness—never holding back, but ready to accept whatever consequences that might come his way.

“Sugal” is written and produced by Dionela himself and is considered as a product of both love and experiment. The promising newcomer shares, “everything, from tracking to mastering, I did it in my room. There are flaws about the track when it comes to the technical side, but I’m beyond happy about the result.  It feels like the first time I rode a bike without the training wheels and I’m super proud of it.”

The song follows the online success of “Agaw,” which has amassed over a million streams to date, and the moody but inescapable tune “Gone,” released in 2020. Listen to DIONELA’s “SUGAL”: https://dionela.lnk.to/sugal
