    GEORGE EZRA DEBUTS NEW SINGLE ‘GREEN GREEN GRASS’

    BRIT Award-winning, multi-platinum selling musician George Ezra today debuts his hugely infectious new single ‘Green Green Grass,’ the second song to be lifted from his forthcoming new album Gold Rush Kid, due for release on 10 June via Columbia Records. The single arrives alongside the announcement of a huge nationwide UK arena tour, scheduled for September and October, following George’s special show at London’s Finsbury Park in July.

    ‘Green Green Grass’ is an irresistibly joyful song about making the best of things, even when it might feel like the worst of things are afoot: “Green green grass, blue blue sky, you better throw a party on the day that I die.”

    “I was on holiday in St Lucia with a few friends at Christmas 2018, with two of my closest mates from home,” explains George. “We were in this beach bar, drinking homemade rum punch and Piton, the local lager, flip-flopping between the two, pissing about with three local guys who worked there. And this music started up, three streets back from the sea.

    “After about half an hour, I had to go see what it was. And there was a street party going on, with three different sound systems, people cooking in the street. I asked a woman what was going on and she told me it was a funeral – for three people. They were celebrating three lives! I thought: that is not how we do this at home. And it’s really beautiful.”

    ‘Green Green Grass’ follows the euphoric first single and album opener ‘Anyone For You,’ which continues to climb the UK Official Singles Chart and is the number one song at UK radio, with A-list rotation across all major stations.

    George debuted both songs to a rapturous reception at his recent intimate gigs in London, Manchester and Edinburgh – shows praised as “a joyous singalong that was impossible to resist” (5*, The Telegraph), “blazing sunshine tempered by subtle shadow” (4*, Evening Standard) and a set filled with “hooks so plentiful he could go long-line fishing with them” (4*, The Guardian).

    “The Gold Rush Kid? That’s me,” says George, reflecting on the title of his third record – a 12-strong suite of marvellous, transporting, elevational songs, that more than anything “sound like me. That’s what ties them together.”

    After two blockbuster albums – Wanted On Voyage (2014) and Staying At Tamara’s (2018), both of which reached number 1 in the UK and sold millions around the world, and the latter of which earned him his first number 1 single in ‘Shotgun’ and won him the 2019 Brit Award for British Male Solo Artist – it was time to return to heart and hearth, with an album written and produced entirely in London with longstanding collaborator Joel Pott.

    Following the release of Gold Rush Kid, Ezra will play his biggest headline show to date, a special all day event at London’s Finsbury Park on 17 July 2022.     Alongside the tour announcement, George has partnered with YouTube Music to be their Sustainability Partner for 2022. He says: “I am conscious that creating, touring and promoting a record has an impact on the environment, so I am delighted to announce I will be working with YouTube Music as their Sustainability Partner for 2022. They have very generously provided a significant financial contribution to support a cause of my choosing; this is going to be The National Trust, who are working hard to reverse the decline in nature and reduce the impact of climate change by planting trees and restoring landscapes. Together, we’ll directly use this money to plant 17,000 trees across the UK.”

    The National Trust has committed to planting or establishing 20 million trees covering an area the size of Birmingham as part of their plan to become net zero by 2030. The carbon benefits from the 17,000 trees will go towards the charity’s own net zero ambitions.

    National Trust Director General Hilary McGrady said: “We are enormously grateful to George for this donation, and it serves as an important reminder that only by a collective will and everyone playing their part will we help reverse some of the impacts of climate change and help the nation to reach net zero.

    “This gift represents an important step as part of our ambition to try and tackle the effects of climate change. We are planting the trees in the right places to maximise the impact they will have in locking in carbon.”

  • Ed Sheeran Drops Official Video For “2Step” Feat. Lil Baby

    During the next 12 months, Ed Sheeran’s and Lil Baby’s worldwide record royalties from YouTube streams of the official video, and Warner Music’s proceeds from such streams, will be donated to the Dec’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

    Ed Sheeran has dropped the conceptual official video for his track ‘2step’ feat. Lil Baby – a brand new version of the song, lifted from his 2021 multi-platinum album ‘=’ (watch here). Shot in Kyiv, Ukraine, and directed by Henry Scholfield (Stormzy ‘Vossi Bop’), the video transitions through slick choreography as Ed, Lil Baby and their crew move across a cityscape backdrop.

    Speaking about the video, Ed Sheeran says – “I filmed the video for 2step in the city of Kyiv, Ukraine before the devastating acts of violence started to take place. It was my first time visiting the country and I felt so welcomed during my stay there – everyone from the production crew to the many people I met across my days off. Ukraine is a proud and resilient country and I’m grateful to have had the chance to film my video there. I stand with Ukraine and will be donating my record royalties from YouTube streams of the video to the DEC’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal x”

    The video’s Ukrainian production company, Radioaktivefilm, added – “This video really reminds us of the best of times; it was the last video we did before our world fell apart. Watching it gives us some normality and happiness, and we hope you enjoy this video as much as we do right now.”

    Last month, not only did Ed perform at ITV’s Concert for Ukraine but he played a slew of intimate underplays in the London (Electric Ballroom/Alexandra Palace Theatre) and Brighton (Concorde 2) ahead of his upcoming ‘+ – = ÷ x’ stadium tour (pronounced ‘The Mathematics Tour’), which kicks off in Dublin on 23rd April and will see Ed return to Wembley Stadium for a five-night run in June/July.     “I met J in a gym in New York last year – it was just me and him very early in the morning. I recognised his voice when he was on the phone so I just went up and said hi. We chatted so long, we ended up having lunch and then afternoon tea. Then just went to being mates who chatted nonstop. I was in New York at Christmas for shows and we decided to have one day in the studio that led to so so much more. The first two songs we wrote were ‘Sigue’ and ‘Forever My Love’ and I absolutely love them. He wanted to bring me into his world, and I wanted to bring him into mine. It was a proper challenge learning Spanish for this and I had so much fun doing it. Hope you love it as much as I do and look out for more to come.”

Today’s release coincides with the announcement of keshi’s debut studio album, GABRIEL, which is set to release March 25th via Island Records. On “GET IT,” keshi, who has earned more than 1.6 billion global streams, flexes the lifestyle he’s worked hard for (“Got my bag right/On my own time”) and invites his fans to come join him (“On me and we spendin’ all night, come and/Get it, get it, get it”). Sonically, the track is bass-heavy with siren-esque ad-libs as keshi alternates from an elongated falsetto to a more structured cadence, pushing keshi further into his own lane. Genre-bending comes naturally to keshi who frequently cannot be pinned down to one genre, and “GET IT” shows how far he is able to expand as an artist and producer (alongside co-producer Elie Rizk), while maintaining that signature keshi sound. The video, directed by the late Sebastian Sdaigui, is a masterful pairing,  taking as many twists and turns as the song. With leather-clad keshi and friends wilding out in a romantic, Victorian setting, the video mirrors the track’s soft and hard juxtaposition. Following up singles “SOMEBODY” and “TOUCH,” “GET IT” shows the sonic range and emotional depth to expect on GABRIEL. 

    After the release of GABRIEL, keshi will embark on his first headlining tour. The “HELL / HEAVEN” tour hosts dates in Europe and North America this upcoming Spring 2022 with stops in London, Paris, Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, and many more cities before finishing his tour in his hometown of Houston, Texas. Due to overwhelming demand during pre-sale, several venues have been upgraded to larger rooms and several cities added a second date before the tour sold out entirely.     ABOUT KESHI: 

    Monikered as keshi (stylized), a phonetic play on his name, Casey Luong has amassed millions of fans through his genre-bending songwriting and production without ever releasing a full album. Now, the Vietnamese-American artist hailing from Houston is gearing up to release his debut album GABRIEL, his most personal effort to date to be released via Island Records. A fusion of keshi’s real-self and his artistic persona, the songs are written from the lens of Casey and keshi and speaks on both his personal life and allowing the ego of keshi to take over. When keshi decides to flex how far he’s come, you get a fusion of alternative pop meets hip-hop, and when he deals with relationships and love, you get sweet serenades. For GABRIEL, keshi worked with Baltimore producer and songwriter Elie Rizk (known for Bella Poarch’s “Build a Bitch”), who co-produced the album with him. 

    With over a 1.6 billion listens worldwide, keshi has gone on to become a streaming force with his acclaimed trilogy of EPs – Skeletons (2019), Bandaids (2020), and Always (2020). A self-reliant artist, keshi wrote, produced, engineered and played all the instrumentation on the projects, which when pieced together, the names of the three EPs describes the cycle of a relationship. His initial success includes making his Billboard debut when skeletons hit #59 on the Top Album Sales chart. Most recently, keshi appeared on the 88rising-curated Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: The Album for his song “War With Heaven.” It adds to a growingly impressive resume that includes getting co-signs by BTS members Jungkook and RM on their personal Spotify playlists, as well as a collaboration with producer Madeon on “beside you.” Last summer, keshi was also YSL’s special guest at their Venice show. With no signs of winding down, keshi is laser focused on the mark he wants to leave behind. And while he has high expectations for himself at 27, he is confident that his upcoming studio album GABRIEL will stand the test of time. “I think the biggest goal for me right now is to create a record that will outlast me,” keshi says. “I always talk about it as an opus record. I see Blonde as an opus record. I see Continuum as an opus record. I feel like I’m in a constant search to make something on that sort of scale. I strive for that.”

    The Encanto Original Motion Picture Soundtrack from the Academy Award®-nominated Walt Disney Animation Studios film, featuring eight original songs by Academy Award-nominated, Tony® and Grammy®-winning songwriter/composer Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Hamilton,” “Moana”) with an original score by Academy Award-nominated composer Germaine Franco maintains the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 chart for the seventh non-consecutive week. The R.I.A.A. Gold-certified set earned 90,000 equivalent album units (down 8%) in its eleventh week on the chart for the week ending Feb. 24, 2022.  The album also maintains the top position on Billboard’s Soundtrack and Independent Album charts for the sixth consecutive week. 

      

    On Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, the 2X Platinum-certified “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” maintains the No. 1 spot for the fifth consecutive week. “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is the only song from a Disney animated or live-action film to top the Hot 100 for multiple weeks.

    The Encanto soundtrack and song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” have topped the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 simultaneously for five consecutive weeks. The last soundtrack and song to achieve at least five weeks at No. 1 was 1992’s “The Bodyguard” and “I Will Always Love You” (Whitney Houston).

    “Dos Oruguitas” maintains the No. 2 position on the Latin Streaming Songs and Latin Digital Sales Songs charts for the second consecutive week.  Previously, the track held the No. 1 position on the Latin Streaming Songs chart for 5 consecutive weeks and the Latin Digital Sales chart for 3 consecutive weeks.

    Multi-platinum selling pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer unveil their new single “COMPLETE MESS” via BMG – listen HERE. The anthemic single aptly balances an expansive, epic vibe with a contemporary pop sensibility. The band teased the song late last week on socials which sparked an immediate frenzy online, trending worldwide, as fans eagerly await new music. Additionally, the single heralds the band’s soon-to-be-announced fifth studio album, which will be released independently in partnership with BMG.

    The release comes alongside its music video – directed by Lauren Dunn (Kali Uchis, 070 Shake, Jack White) and creative direction by Tyler Serebreni of Other Half Creative – which acts as a visual extension of the song, characterized by sequences that take on a ethereal, dreamlike quality that perfectly reflect the nature of the track.     The track was created during a writing trip in Joshua tree and is the first song to be entirely written and produced by the band, with Michael handling the production. “For this record we realized if you want something done that truly represents how you feel, you’ve got to do it yourselves. We wanted that expansive sound that we naturally gravitate towards when we play together, so we had to learn how to record that,” states the group. “This new music is so authentically us. It’s exactly the kind of music we want to be making right now and it’s a good song to be able to reconnect to our fans after such a long time of not releasing music. We can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve been working on.”

    The song’s title references a fan favorite tee-shirt Luke used to wear, but the lyrics go far deeper, reflecting on the worthwhile chaos of a relationship. The single was perfected over several recording sessions at Rancho V in Joshua Tree, Michael’s own home studio and Dragonfly Creek in Malibu and simultaneously showcases the strength of Michael’s production and the bands song writing. The track with its mature and anthemic sound, highlights the bands evolution, now in their 11th year as a band, and represents a moment of authentic growth while also teasing what’s to come on their forthcoming album.

    Additionally, the band is set to kick off their 2022 World Tour this summer. The North American run will begin on Saturday, June 11 in Vancouver, BC, making stops in Los Angeles, New York City, Nashville and more before wrapping in St. Louis, MO on July 24. The upbeat track debuted yesterday with Role Model featured on the cover of New Music Daily on Apple Music. It will also be included on his upcoming debut album, Rx.     The music video, directed by Dylan Knight, is fun, playful, and theatrical. Tucker stars as a small town’s local pastor who is convinced he has found God in the shape of a beautiful girl. Role Model’s energy is magnetic as he preaches to the church when suddenly in walks a girl, like a metaphorical Jesus, wearing a short denim skirt and hoop earrings. The chemistry between the girl and Tucker builds as he tries to impress her by showing off his dance skills. They eventually break out into a choreographed routine and the congregation leaps to their feet to praise what seems like the second coming of Jesus. To Role Model, God is a woman.

    Today, Japanese cultural and fashion icon, NIGO, reveals a new single and music video entitled “Want It Bad” [feat. Kid Cudi] via Victor Victor Worldwide/Republic Records.
