    Abby Clutario drops emotional single “Naglalambing”

    GMA Music’s multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Abby Clutario releases her second single, “Naglalambing,” following the success of her previous track, “Laho.” Both tracks are from her album “Lambing.” 

    This new song offers a mature and reflective perspective on past relationships, providing listeners with a deep and emotional experience. In contrast to the upbeat and crush-infused vibes of “Laho,” “Naglalambing” delves into the complexities of past love and loss. Abby describes the song as a contemplative exploration of exes and the lingering “what ifs” that come with reminiscing about past relationships.

     “This song is a bit of a contrast to ‘Laho.’ While ‘Laho’ was about those sweet, chummy feelings we get around our crushes, ‘Naglalambing’ dives into more mature territory. It’s about exes and the ‘what ifs’ that come with looking back at past relationships,” Abby shares.

    Abby’s reflection on “Naglalambing” is about closure and reflection. “It’s about looking back at past relationships and wondering about the roads not taken. What if I could talk to my ex again? It’s about reflecting on past experiences, finding closure, and moving forward. The song is very stripped down. It captures that sentimental part of us Filipinos. Our generation loves to hear music that reminds them of their youth, and I wanted to tap into that,” adds Abby. 

    The single is now available on all major streaming platforms. Its official performance video release on GMA Music’s YouTube channel and AltG Records Facebook page last June 28. Abby also performed the song at the Progressive Rock Stage 11 at 12 Monkeys with Joey G on last June 28.

    Barangay LS 97.1 radio DJ and singer Papa Obet returns with a touching new single under GMA Music, “Naghihintay,” a song that captures the emotions of longing, love, and loss. The song was released last June 28.

    “Naghihintay” is a pop ballad about someone who is still waiting for their love to return, even though they may be gone forever. The song’s lyrics are relatable to anyone who has ever experienced heartbreak or loss.

    “I wrote this song based on the experiences that many people encounter today,” Papa Obet explains. “There are those who hope, those who wait, those who leave, and those who are left behind. And sometimes, those who leave may never come back, but we still hold on to hope that they will.”

    The song’s message of acceptance and moving on is one that Papa Obet hopes will resonate with listeners. “The first step is acceptance,” he says. “You need to accept that the person you’re waiting for is gone. Don’t regret it, don’t blame yourself. At least you tried waiting. You fought for them, and even though they didn’t come back, you didn’t lose.”

    “Naghihintay” is Papa Obet’s first non-Christmas single since 2018, and he is excited to share it with his fans. “I’m glad I finally get to release this song,” he says. I’ve been holding on to it for a while now, and I think it’s time to let it go out into the world.”

    The song is accompanied by a performance video that will be released shortly after the song’s debut.

    In addition to “Naghihintay,” Papa Obet is also working on a new Christmas song and has several projects lined up for his music career. He is passionate about music and shows no signs of slowing down.

    The group “Number_i,” consisting of Sho Hirano, Yuta Jinguji, and Yuta Kishi, has achieved an incredible milestone with their first single “GOAT,” surpassing 52 million views on YouTube. Their latest Mini Album “No.O -ring-” was released on CD and digital platforms on May 27th. The lead track from the Mini Album, “BON,” produced by Sho Hirano, has already garnered significant attention, being performed on TV and creating a buzz on social media.

    In April this year, Number_i gained attention by performing in the “88rising Futures” segment at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2024, one of the largest music festivals in the United States.     This is the first time that a major US record label and a K-pop entertainment agency have collaborated to assemble, develop, and introduce an international girl group unlike any other.

    They will now compete in the world-class audition program titled “The Debut: Dream Academy”, and fans can follow the contestants as they embark on the audition program. 

    The content will premiere in September 1 at 8 a.m. US PDT on YouTube (Global), and ABEMA (Japan). At the end of the audition program later this year, the final members of the group will be determined, and the name of the group will be revealed.

    During the press conference for the event held at IGA Studios in Santa Monica, California, Bang Si-hyuk, chairman of HYBE, and John Janick, chairman and CEO of Interscope Geffen A&M, discussed the global girl group. 

    “I have long wanted to form an international group based on K-pop methodology. To do this I believed we needed a capable partner. When I met John (Janick), from the first moment, we both felt instantly that we had a connection, musically and creatively. I am very proud of the rich history we have made and the tremendous talent we have found. I am proud of the opportunities we have created within the K-pop universe,” said Bang Si-hyuk. 

    Janick said, “Since we began our partnership two years ago, Bang and I have often spoken about our shared beliefs in artist development, music, and creativity. To develop a global group with Bang, with the best of K-Pop methodology, and our Geffen team is truly special and will bring to life a first-of-its-kind experience in music. Each candidate is incredibly talented, dedicated, and driven, making this an exciting moment for music fans worldwide.”

    A panel of experts discussed the project. They were Tom March, president, of Geffen Records; Mitra Darab, president, HxG; Sungdeuk Son, executive creator, HxG); Humberto Leon, creative director; and Jay Ihn, head of creative production, HxG.

    The 20 contestants were revealed next.An art film was unveiled to introduce the contestants.

    Now is your chance to be part of the next global K-pop boy group

    South Korea’s entertainment giant CJ ENM is collaborating with Richard Juan’s company 28 Squared Studios, alongside 360 Entertainment and Bhouse Studio, to facilitate the Boys Planet global K-Pop boy band Philippine audition.

    After the success of Girls Planet 999 which launched Kep1er, CJ ENM’s music channel Mnet announced in early August that there will be an upcoming global K-Pop project called Boys Planet “that will launch the next biggest boy band.”

    Boys Planet has been holding auditions around the world. BHouse and 360 Entertainment have already held auditions in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and now in the Philippines.

    “Mnet aims to create a global K-pop boy group that will lead the next generation of K-Pop. Finalists that are chosen by the global audience will be promised their debut in 2023,” CJ ENM said on its press release.

    Kapamilya actor and host Richard Juan, who is the CEO and co-founder of 28 Squared Studios, hopes that the audition will pave the way to bring Filipino talents to the K-Pop scene.

    “I strongly believe we have many world-class Filipino talents out here and it’s high time to further show the world what we can do. Hopefully, this Philippine audition in one of the biggest talent competitions on Mnet, or even in Korea, will create the path for Filipino talents to raise our flag in the K-Pop scene,” he remarked.

    “I personally would audition for this… if I was 10 years younger,” he joked. “I’m looking forward to seeing our talented Filipino auditionees next week,” the 28 Squared Studios executive added.

    Boys 13 years old and above can audition regardless of nationality and country of residence. All personal trainees, contracted trainees, and debuted artists are welcomed to participate.

    The audition in the Philippines will happen at True Creators Studio on September 14. Participants can perform any of the audition categories which include vocal, rap, and dance.

    In order to manage the number of auditionees and observe proper COVID protocols, participants are required to sign up via the given Google form link here or by scanning the QR code on the poster to apply for the audition before the on-site audition date.

    Ed revealed that he will be opening the store to sell merch from his upcoming album ‘No. 6 Collaborations Project.’ You will be able to get your hands of some of Ed’s merch on July 13, 2019 from 10AM – 10PM at U.P. Town Amphitheatre.

    The social media blew up when it was announced that that LANY will be bringing their Malibu Nights Tour to Manila on July 24, 2019. As expected, several tickets are already being resold by scalpers at inflated prices

    The prices for the band’s fourth concert in Manila are between P1250 for General Admission and P5550 for VIP Standing. As at time of writing, all sections are sold out but being sold three to five times the price. GA tickets are up for almost P5600 while Lower Box B Premium for 5500. Tickets are being resold by some third party websites and not authorized by the organizers. Is anyone desperate enough to fork out this much cash for LANY? We do not encourage to buy tickets from the scalpers but instead wait for the possibility of adding more seats or high chance of having a second night.
