The Filipino quartet blends reggae, indie rock, and Manila Sound into a freewheeling track about letting go and riding the moment.
Life rarely moves in a straight line, and IV OF SPADES is leaning into the detours. On “Rollercoaster,” the Filipino quartet trades the pressure of chasing the next big moment for something looser: a sun-soaked, groove-heavy ride through reggae rhythms, indie-rock textures, and Manila Sound.
Released during the band’s US and Canada tour, “Rollercoaster” finds IV OF SPADES in an especially playful mode. The psychedelic-tinged track moves with an easy confidence, layering reggae’s rhythmic pulse with indie rock and the melodic sensibilities of Manila Sound. The result is vibrant without feeling overly polished, with a laid-back quality that gives the song room to breathe.
It is the kind of track that seems built for motion. Imagine the windows down, the volume turned up, and a stretch of road with nowhere specific to go. “Rollercoaster” captures that particular rush of abandoning the itinerary and seeing where the night takes you — a feeling equally suited to spontaneous road trips, late-night hangs, and those fleeting hours when plans become secondary to simply being present.

Originally uploaded to the band’s SoundCloud page in 2015, “Isang Pag-ibig” was revisited and re-released in 2026, introducing the track to a new generation of listeners. Since its release, it has accumulated more than three million combined streams across platforms and peaked at No. 18 on YouTube Music’s Trending Music chart.
With “Rollercoaster,” IV OF SPADES once again demonstrates that its musical identity does not fit neatly into a single genre. Instead, the quartet draws from different eras and sounds to create something distinctly its own — colorful, rhythmic, slightly psychedelic, and unapologetically fun.
Sometimes, the best way forward is simply to stop worrying about the destination. On “Rollercoaster,” IV OF SPADES makes a convincing case for enjoying the ride.
