Will Ashley kicked off a major chapter of his journey on September 20 at SM North EDSA Skydome with the launch of his debut album Liham. The night felt like more than a concert; it was a warm, celebration of a young man whose talent is matched by genuine humility and deep love for his fans, family, and friends.
He opened the set in a way few expected. Instead of walking out and launching straight into a song, Will delivered a high-energy dance production that immediately set the tone. The choreography was sharp, the energy infectious, and it reminded everyone that this is an artist who moves just as powerfully as he sings. From there he settled into the heart of the evening: performing the songs from Liham, each one feeling like a personal letter turned into melody.
The support in the venue was special. His Pinoy Big Brother friends AC, Josh, Ralph, and Vince showed up to cheer him on, along with close friend Gian Bernardino of Cup of Joe. That circle of people who’ve watched him grow made the night feel more intimate.
One of the standout moments came when Ralph De Leon joined him onstage for “Nandito Ako,” their take on the Rob Deniel version. The RaWi chemistry was still very much alive, easy, familiar, and full of heart. Fans who followed their PBB journey clearly felt it.
But the biggest kilig of the night belonged to Will and Mika Salamanca. When she walked out to join him for a live cover of Bruno Mars’ “Risk It All,” the atmosphere shifted. The two of them pulled the song off beautifully, vocals locked in, presence natural, and the connection between them impossible to miss. It was easily the sweetest moment of the evening. Will didn’t hold back either, calling Mika “ang crush ko since day 1, at ang lagi ko.” The crowd melted. It felt honest and joyful, the kind of moment that stays with people long after the lights go down.
Adding to the celebration, Liham had already charted at number 1 on iTunes Philippines, a clear sign that the album was connecting. Will closed the night with his latest single “Paborito,” sending everyone home on a high note and a reminder of why the project matters so much to him.
Throughout the show, Will made it look almost effortless, singing with feeling, dancing with precision, and carrying the stage with confidence. Then you remember he also acts and holds his own in sports. What can’t this guy do?
