The highly anticipated Manila season of Cameron Mackintosh’s Les Misérables: The World Tour Spectacular, produced by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, has announced a final two-week extension due to overwhelming demand. Originally scheduled from January 20 to February 15, 2026, the production will now run until March 1, 2026, at The Theatre at Solaire.

The announcement follows an extraordinary response from Filipino audiences, with thousands joining the ticket waitlist even before sales began. Presented by GMG Productions in association with Cameron Mackintosh and Nick Grace Management, this landmark production promises a never-before-seen experience in Manila. “From the moment we announced Les Misérables: The World Tour Spectacular, it was clear how deeply the show resonated with Filipino audiences,” said Carlos Candal, CEO of GMG Productions. “We’re thrilled that even more fans will now get the chance to experience it.”

This production builds on the success of Les Misérables: The Staged Concert, which ran for over 200 record-breaking performances in London’s West End. The World Tour Spectacular features a bold new design with enhanced set and lighting, a company and crew of over 110, and a live orchestra combining Filipino and international musicians. The international all-star cast will be announced soon.

About the Production

Les Misérables: The World Tour Spectacular is based on Victor Hugo’s novel, with music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel. Adapted by Trevor Nunn and John Caird, with additional material by James Fenton, the production features orchestrations by Stephen Metcalfe, Christopher Jahnke, and Stephen Brooker, and original orchestrations by John Cameron. Directed by James Powell and Jean-Pierre Van Der Spuy, the show boasts set design by Matt Kinley, costumes by Andreane Neofitou, Christine Rowland, and Paul Wills, lighting by Paule Constable and Warren Letton, sound by Mick Potter, projections by Finn Ross, and music supervision by Stephen Brooker and Alfonso Casado Trigo. The orchestra is conducted by Adrian Kirk.
