Yes, ladies and gentlemen, believe it or not — Kuh is 70. Seventy! That’s seven decades, thirteen presidents and more than a thousand concerts. And still – Kuh is radiant , vibrant and glamorous! She is very much a diva with a voice that still captivates audiences of different ages and people whisper in awe and some in disbelief, “ha ??? 70 na yan???? I’m sure nag paretoke yan!” or “is she a vampire or something? And the best is “akala ko in her late 50’s siya.”
She’s been in the business for 45 plus years — and that’s looong! Aptly titled ERASERHEADS: ELECTRIC FUN MUSIC FESTIVAL, the outdoor event will take place at SMDC Festival Grounds in Pasay City on May 31, 2025. While details remain under wraps, early bird tickets will go on sale exclusively via PalawanPay starting March 24, 2025.

Fireworks filled the midnight sky in the middle of the raging guitar solo in the outro of “Ang Huling El Bimbo” at the SMDC Concert Grounds. Shortly after, yellow bits of confetti rained down on the crowd. The four members of Eraserheads – Ely, Raimund, Buddy and Marcus – joined by their crew on stage, joined hands and took a bow. They waved at the crowd repeatedly, the crowd did the same, smiles and joy all over. It was December 22, 2022 and the Eraserheads had just performed their greatest set in their one-night reunion concert in the Philippines, drawing in a 75,000-strong crowd. History was made, and being part of it was such an exhilarating experience, it was almost surreal.
Watching the Eraserheads: Combo on the Run at the cinema last night took me back to that particular moment. I remembered looking around at the end of the concert, seeing all the lights turned up to the brightest as fragments of yellow mesh burst around, it was as if the saturation was turned up high in an HD screen in real life. 2022, and the pandemic blank years before it, felt muted compared to the scenery around me. That was the magic of the Eraserheads for me and the movie brought it back vividly.
Directed by Maria Diane Ventura, Eraserheads: Combo on the Run is the quintessential Eheads documentary movie for the fans, for music enthusiasts and for Filipinos. In its 1 hour and 45 minutes runtime, the movie gave the audience an informative and intimate look at the band’s history, detailing their beginning as undergraduates at UP Diliman until their rise to fame and everything (the good and the bad) that came with it.
Featuring lots of footage from what appeared to be long-lost vaults, clippings from old magazines and newspapers, and updated interviews with journalists, producers and managers, the film successfully brought to life the wonders of the ‘90s, and how the Eraserheads became one of the greatest musical acts in our country.
What made it extra compelling came down to one thing: honesty – which mattered most especially when it came to demystifying the issues that had clouded their fallout that led to their disbandment in 2002. The movie featured one-on-one interviews with the four members of the band, and to their credit, each one of them did speak their own truth, spilling out the struggles, grievances and sentiments that were unheard of until now.
Strikingly, the film did not dwell in the negative. Beyond the rift, it also provided a space for healing. As they shed light on how they navigated their own paths as individuals and musicians over the years, they also shared their insights on what led them to find their way back to each other for their 2022 reunion concert.
Overall, the movie is authentically Eheads – the humor, the honesty and even the drama. It was an enjoyable and immersive Dolby-enhanced musical trip, going through snippets of their discography, including some demo versions, deep cuts and live performances. The interviews stood out for being candid and heartfelt. It felt like a journey of the band’s long and hectic history. At the end of it, you’ll really get to understand what makes the Eraserheads’ legacy relevant not just on a national scale, but on a personal level.
The movie will remind you of the Eheads songs that became your soundtrack at specific points of your life. For me, it was their last song during their 2022 concert. For others, it could be their favorite karaoke hits. For longtime Eheads fans, I’m sure the answer would be longer and more meaningful.

Netflix Philippines has released a fun, nostalgic video featuring none other than TitoBoy Abunda to highlight the ’90s throwback and throwbot themes found in THE ELECTRIC STATE.
In the clip, Tito Boy hosts a segment of Showbzz and takes viewers to a reimagined ‘90s entertainment world—where the lives of Filipino showbiz icons like Gladys Reyes, Claudine Barretto, and Raymund Marasigan (among others) are closely intertwined with and inspired by robots. This intriguing concept offers a fascinating glimpse into a world where humans and robots co-exist—a nod to the characters’ complex lives in Netflix’s newest sci-fi film THE ELECTRIC STATE.
Imagine an alternate 1990s where humanity has clashed with sentient robots—think cartoonish mascots and branded machines gone rogue—and emerged victorious, only to retreat into a virtual haze of their own making. That’s the world of The Electric State, Netflix’s latest big-budget sci-fi flick directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the duo behind Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. The movie is said to be one of the priciest films ever made for streaming, boasting a star-studded cast led by Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt.
The story follows Michelle (Brown), a tough-as-nails orphaned teen who’s lost her family to a war between humans and robots. One night, a mysterious, toy-like robot named Cosmo shows up, hinting that her long-presumed-dead brother, Christopher, might still be alive. With Cosmo in tow, Michelle hits the road across a retro-futuristic American Southwest littered with rusting robotic relics. Along the way, she teams up with Keats (Pratt), a cocky smuggler, and his wisecracking robot sidekick Herman (voiced by Anthony Mackie). Their mission? Unravel a conspiracy tied to a tech mogul, Ethan Skate (Stanley Tucci), whose Neurocaster technology—a VR headset that lets humans upload their minds into drones—has left society hooked and hollow.
The New Frontier Theater was filled with pearl aqua green lights as the Flaming Charisma of SHINee, CHOI MINHO, held his last stop in Manila for his first solo concert, MEAN: OF MY FIRST last March 16, 2025.
Choi Minho started as a member of legendary KPOP boy group SHINee, and debuted as a solo artist last 2022 through his first EP, “Chase.” Aside from being a total performer, Minho has been one of the most sought-after actors in South Korea, starring in some of the most famous shows such as “To the Beautiful You,” “Hwarang,” and the most recently released “Romance in the House.”
Minho opened his concert with a powerful bang as he performed his music such as “Would You Mind,” “Affection,” “Came and Left Me,” “Fireworks,” and “Round Kick.” He greeted his fans enthusiastically after his opening stage. “Kamusta kayo? Ako si Minho!” Shawols were hyped up with his electrifying stages along with his live band and amazing dancers.
Choi Minho certainly loved the energy of his fans and gave his best performances on stage, singing some more of his songs like “Something About U,” “Chase,” “Prove It,” “Call Back,” “Runaway,” and “Slow Down.” Minho also made sure to hype up our Shawol hearts as he sang his group’s song “View” towards the end of the show. Minho also acknowledged his fans’ projects, like banners, pompoms, lightsticks, and fan boards that made the concert experience memorable for Minho and his beloved fans.
“I’m having so much fun… It’s really a great day and I’m sad that I’ll be finishing my concert tonight,” Minho said as he reaches the end of his concert, successfully concluding his concert tour in such a special country – the Philippines.
Choi Minho promised his fans that he will be coming back to perform and certainly, the Manila stop made him so much happier and he could feel the love and support from his beloved fans. He never forgot to thank everyone who came to cheer for him on such a special night and made sure that his fans felt his happiness from his Manila stop.
