NOVOCRANE, the indie rock project of Kylene Sevillano, returns with Safe and Sound, an introspective anthem that wrestles with the paradox of emotional isolation—where solitude can feel like both a sanctuary and a prison.
Built on fuzzy guitars, washed-out melodies, and a raw, unfiltered edge, NOVOCRANE thrives in the space between nostalgia and noise, distilling deeply personal emotions into a sound that feels both distant and familiar.
Rooted in the grit of ‘90s indie rock, interwoven with oscillating shoegaze textures and lush dream pop, Safe and Sound captures the push-and-pull of self-imposed solitude. The song’s verses float in a dazed detachment, only to swell into a cathartic chorus—walls of sound crashing like waves, echoing the realization that shutting the world out can be just as confining as it is protective.
“In Safe and Sound, I wanted to portray that feeling of isolation as a form of freedom,” saysSevillano. “But over time, you realize that it’s okay to want connection, to seek someone toshare your life with.”
The track marks NOVOCRANE’s second release, further cementing Sevillano’s ability to craft immersive, emotionally charged experiences. What started as a spontaneous solo project has since evolved into a fully realized artistic vision—one that channels raw emotions into soaring soundscapes, offering a deeply personal yet universally resonant listening experience.
The single drops on March 28, 2025, and will be available on all streaming platforms.
From “I” to “Letter to Myself,” Kim Taeyeon has established her presence in the music scene in South Korea and globally. Beginning her journey as the Kid Leader of the nation’s pioneering girl group, Girls’ Generation, she gained fame while captivating audiences worldwide with her music and charisma. Taeyeon made her debut as a solo artist in 2015 with her track “I,” which shares the title with her album. Her remarkable vocal talent has won the affection of many SONES and Taengbbas, positioning her as one of the most in-demand solo artists in South Korea and beyond.
Fans gathered at the SM Mall of Asia Arena to celebrate the past, present, and future of music as Kim Taeyeon made her return to the Philippine stage for THE TENSE on March 29, 2025. With pastel pink lights illuminating the arena, cheers calling Taeyeon’s name resonated throughout the concert venue. Manila marked the third location on her concert tour and her third solo performance in the Philippines.

The Tense commenced with Taeyeon’s majestic entrance as she performed “Fabulous” from her album “To.X.” Walking down the platform, she greeted her fans, presenting them with “a masterpiece, a work of art” showcasing a decade of greatness on stage. Taeyeon also performed her debut single “I” alongside her recent release “Letter to Myself.” These tracks perfectly encapsulated both the past and present of Kim Taeyeon, reflecting her artistic growth and creativity within the music industry.
Taking a moment to address her fans, Taeyeon reintroduced herself, saying, “Kamusta?” as she made sure to acknowledge supporters from various sections of the arena. “I’m back here after two years. As far as I can remember, Manila is one of the best places for the best cheers [from fans].” Taeyeon voiced her heartfelt appreciation to everyone who attended her concert despite the unpredictable weather conditions. “From the very beginning, I want to thank you all for joining me tonight.”
Beautiful melodies, complemented by her talented five-man live band, filled the concert hall as Taeyeon enchanted the audience with her songs “Blue Eyes” and “Make Me Love You,” and delivered an exhilarating rendition of “Heaven” while dancing on stage.
“Close your eyes, feel the tense, and let it take you away,” was the message from Angel Laundry Shop in Heaven, guiding fans through the show, supplemented by a special VCR depicting Taeyeon as an angel. However, “cleanliness can fall into darkness,” leading to a segment illustrating the opposite of heaven, showcasing the madness and darkness of Taeyeon as a fallen angel.
Bold and fierce, Taeyeon launched into her next segment with “Hot Mess” and “Cold as Hell,” enhancing the performances on the extended stage that kept fans on the edge of their seats. After that, all attention shifted to Taeyeon as fans fell under the spell of her captivating rendition of “INVU.” The atmosphere turned mellow as SONES and Taengbbas listened to her songs “My Tragedy,” “Melt Away,” “To.X,” and “What Do I Call You,” sweeping them off their feet with her sweet yet powerful voice.
“This feels like a dream.” Taeyeon was astonished by her fans’ enthusiastic cheers and how Filipino fans knew the lyrics to Korean songs so well. “Yesterday at the hotel, it was quiet, but today, because of your loud cheers, it gives me so much energy to perform.” She also checked the crowd’s vibe and interacted with fans, particularly those with lights in the upper box area and those donned in egg suits and headdresses. “I think a lot of cute fans are here in Manila, which makes the vibe so much better.” The singer was deeply moved by her fans’ thoughtful gestures and preparations for her concert in Manila. “I think I’ll have such a good memory in Manila.”

The crowd erupted with excitement as the rave party commenced. Pink cloth sheets, organized by the local fan club union UNISONE PH, were lifted and waved by fans throughout Taeyeon’s set as she performed her hits “Weekend,” “Stress,” “Why,” and “Baram X3.” Both Taeyeon and her fans relished the upbeat medley. Following the joyful medley, she performed her emotional ballads “Four Seasons” and “Disaster.” She also sang “Ending Credits,” accompanied by a visualizer showcasing her journey in the music business, from her days as a trainee to leading SNSD, and eventually becoming a versatile solo artist. As she sang, fans waved their butterfly sticks, creating a stunning display of butterflies in the concert hall. Taeyeon concluded this segment with her tracks “Time Lapse,” “All for Nothing,” and “Blur.”
Support from fans was further displayed through their egg-shaped hand banners inspired by the peeled egg doll “TAENGGEU,” which Taeyeon designed herself for the concert merchandise. These banners were prominently held up during her rendition of “Curtain Call,” featuring the message “10 Years With Taeyeon Feels Like the Perfect Heaven.” Additionally, UNISONE PH unveiled a roll-down banner during this segment with the phrase “On your TENSE (tenth) year, there was still us that didn’t change. (너의 TENSE(10번째) 해에도 여전히 변하지 않은 우리가 있어).”
“Salamat po. Masaya ako.” Taeyeon felt her fans’ immense love and support through their loud cheers and impressive fan projects during the concert. “I feel good, and I hope you remember this for a very long time.” She also shared that she had a significant role in the direction of this concert tour celebrating her 10th solo anniversary, including the VCRs, confetti messages, merchandise, and the signature fragrance that filled the arena along with the confetti.
Given that the Philippines is known for its exceptional vocal talent, fans sang “11:11” while eagerly anticipating Taeyeon’s encore, their voices echoing throughout the arena. Eventually, Taeyeon returned for her final song and closed The Tense with “U R,” shining ever more beautifully like stars.

Taeyeon’s raw vocals, stunning movements, captivating storytelling through her music, and her decade-long dedication to the industry are the unique elements that contribute to her success as a solo artist. Kim Taeyeon’s past, present, and future are experiences that audiences have seen, are witnessing, and will continue to see as she progresses in her solo career. Indeed, The Tense was a spellbinding experience for both Taeyeon and her fans, creating an unforgettable moment of magic, bliss, the essence of existence, and perfection.

March 28th, 2025 – Canadian singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Chris LaRocca has announced his next EP, ‘dog years’, which will arrive later this year on Red Bull Records/Wonderchild. Ushering in the new chapter of his artistry, the first single “ladybug” is out now via Red Bull Records/Wonderchild. Fans can stream the song here and watch the visualizer here.
“ladybug” introduces listeners to a version of Chris LaRocca that is raw, introspective, and just a little smitten. The track is reminiscent of a retro sound with modern indie influences, introducing a brighter, bolder era of LaRocca’s music.
Chris LaRocca shares, “When a ladybug lands on you, it’s supposed to be a sign of good luck. This is how I felt when my partner came into my life, seemingly out of nowhere. “ladybug” is an ode to unexpected love, and the places that kind of love can take you to. I wrote this song to honour a moment I will never forget, and to remind the world that the best things come when you least expect them.”
Chris LaRocca — “ladybug” (Visualizer)
Over the last year, LaRocca took a step back to reflect on the music of generational greats—The Band, The Byrds, MJ Lenderman—who have inspired him to create something just as timeless. Drawing from their influence while staying true to his versatile musicality, he infused the project with the sensibilities of ’70s-era rock and the storytelling of rootsy americana, all while adding his own alt-pop twist.
While sonically this era differs from his previous project, ‘i cried my eyes out’, LaRocca’s authenticity and palpable emotion remains the same. That dynamic energy can be felt in “ladybug”, priming future audiences for the electric live shows he’s become known for.
In a previous life, Chris LaRocca was a fixture in Toronto’s DIY scene, playing sweaty basements around North America with his post-hardcore band. As that chapter of his sound slowly faded into the rearview, LaRocca transitioned from the stage to the studio, establishing himself as a dynamic producer and sought-after collaborator for top-shelf names like Kali Uchis, Bryson Tiller, Russ, and Stray Kids.
He soon caught the attention of GRAMMY-nominated, JUNO Award-winning producer, WondaGurl, joining her Wonderchild roster in partnership with Red Bull Records. His first full-length, ‘i cried my eyes out’, featured the song “linger”, which he brought to the screen in a heart-wrenchingly beautiful short film that won a Cannes Lion, among other accolades.
While he’d come a long way from his DIY days, there was a part of LaRocca yearning for the music that reflected his authentic identity. “I started listening to a lot of The Band, Steely Dan, The Byrds – they were all such big influences, and I was looking for parallels between their world and mine”.
He found in a year of self-discovery, the music that was most true to his character wasn’t the chaotic, brain-melting noise of his early punk years. Instead, it was deeply rooted in introspective songwriting with notes of untamed exploration and refined energy. Going into 2024, he relocated from Toronto to the Canadian wilderness to follow the Americana, rootsy sounds that were calling to him. Stay tuned for a new era of Chris LaRocca.

Sandwich, the beloved alternative rock band known for their distinctive sound and energetic performances, is excited to announce the release of their brand new EP titled “Kaswal.” This marks the first EP since its critically acclaimed release, “No Goodbyes,” in 2022. The upcoming EP, Kaswal, seems to have that added atmosphere of filtering it through a conscious lens of accessibility. While No Goodbyes captured a raw and unfiltered burst of creative energy, Kaswal reflects a more refined and conscious approach to songwriting, emphasizing accessibility while maintaining its signature style.
The EP was officially launched on March 26 at Apotheka Manila in Makati, featuring unforgettable performances from the band along with SUYEN, Ozo, Gloryen, and The Diegos. Additionally, PolyEast Records has renewed its contract with one of Pinoy rock’s enduring bands this year, solidifying a partnership that has withstood the test of time.
Track #1 is “Nyare?” released in April 2023. The song was borne out of guitarist Diego Castillo’s broken guitar riff he absent-mindedly recorded on an iPhone. The song has that crunchy electric guitar goodness that Sandwich that we have come to love from them since time immemorial, but with a little groovy funk thrown it. You can practically mosh and groove to it at the same time. The song is about experiencing a somewhat personal traumatic experience and keeping yourself from blowing it out of proportion.
“Ibang Araw Na Lang” is a song that reflects on how we should not let the downs we experience ruin the rest of our lives which are filled with ups, friends, and happy experiences. A track that once again came from a bunch of broken demos that drummer Mike Dizon took from Castillo when he asked for instrumental stuff he could use as a musical bed for his YouTube videos. Dizon, who has written lyrics for hit rock songs such as “Laklak”, for starters, started writing over it with the rest of the band (Myrene Academia on bass, Mong Alcaraz on guitar) adding their musical influence flourishes into the mix.
The third track is the critically acclaimed “Morena”, which frontman Raimund Marasigan always describes as their love song for the Filipino people and the Filipina color, “Ang pinakamagandang kulay sa balat ng lupa…” To paraphrase Castillo in a social media post he made in recent memory, while the song mainly has that harana, traditional folk song and rondalla elements at the forefront, modern elements and influences from James Brown, to the fuzz guitar of Os Mutantes and the tropicalia movement of Brazil to the spaghetti Western motif of Ennio Morricone while still channeling Maestros Abelardo, Santiago, and Molina. It is also an ode to our past, our present, and most importantly, our future.
Their most recent release, “Wag Ka Na Lang Kumagat” turns the inherent funk of this album even further with its dark turn and confrontational lyrics.
Key single “Tag-ulan na naman” has that slick, funky 70’s disco vibe. The song is about waking up on a rainy morning and wishing you didn’t have to get up and face the dread of a mundane daily life. The final cut, “Tag-araw” has that sinister clubby vibe to it that also tackles the dreariness of daily life, but from the perspective of a hot day.
The band has captured the counterculture sensitivities of alt-rock with cult favorites such as “Butterfly Carnival”, “Two-Trick Pony”, “Sugod”, “DVDx”, “Sunburn”, “Procrastinator”, “Betamax”, and “Selos”, among many others has struck again with Kaswal.
The track introduces Rock Opong as a promising singer-songwriter and producer.
Rock Opong is making a bold entrance into the music scene, officially debuting as a recording artist who not only performs, but also writes and produces his own material.
Hailing from Iloilo City, Rock Opong’s journey has been anything but easy. Coming from humble beginnings, he spent years trying his luck to penetrate the local music industry, often facing setbacks that nearly made him give up on his dreams. Just when hope seemed to fade, fate intervened: a chance encounter with Balcony Entertainment led to his discovery, ultimately securing him a management contract and a record deal with Sony Music Entertainment.
For his first official single, the 19-year-old crooner embraces a more soulful direction on “Marahuyo,” pouring his heart into every lyric and melody of the material. Penned by Rock Opong himself, the song captures the intense emotions of longing for someone and passionately pursuing love against all odds.
“That inspired me to create a song with a similar emotional depth, one that speaks to the beauty and intensity of love,” the rising solo artist admits. “My music has always been rooted in acoustic pop, but with this song, I wanted to explore something new—modern R&B. This genre has a smoothness and depth that allows emotions to flow effortlessly, making every note feel like a reflection of love itself.”
Rock Opong produced the song with the invaluable help of Rico Blanco, whose expertise and guidance played a critical role in shaping its final sound. For the promising multi-hyphenate, the goal was clear: to deliver a simple yet captivating R&B ballad that allows raw emotions and vulnerability to shine through.
“I want to strike a perfect balance where the melody and instrumentation enhance the song’s message without overpowering it,” says the charming newcomer. “I wanted every note, every chord, and every beat to complement the lyrics in a way that makes listeners feel the depth of the song’s meaning.”
Beyond “Marahuyo” Rock Opong is actively writing new material, acknowledging that there’s so much work to be done and stories to be told. He is passionate about the creative process behind music and is currently preparing for the release of his upcoming tracks.
“My music has undergone a paradigm shift—it’s something fresh, different, and unlike anything I’ve done before,” says the talented newcomer. ‘This evolution allows me to express myself in a way that truly reflects who I am as an artist. I can’t wait to share my growth, my sound, and my story with the world.”
Rock Opong’s “Marahuyo” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment. Watch out for the music video of “Marahuyo” on Rock Opong’s official YouTube channel.

From her humble beginnings in the streets of Mandaluyong City to her unwavering success as a female emcee, Illest Morena has proved that authenticity is necessary when making art, evident in her newly released visual for ‘Stinkalink,’ a crowd favorite track from her debut album ‘Morenita.’
2024 was an interesting year for Illest Morena—she released her full-length album, headlined several shows including Billboard’s Mainstage Concert, and received the Top Kalye Song Award for ‘Faded (Raw)’ at the 2024 Spotify Wrapped Party.
Despite being the illest in the game, the 23-year-old artist has no plans to stop. However, just like everyone else, her priority is to live life to the fullest.
In an exclusive interview, she shared her daily routine to get in the mood for her errands — “I light up an incense because it makes me feel relaxed. Then, I would make my coffee, journal my feelings, and work,” she highlighted.
Love For Community The rapper shared that her upbringing in Mandaluyong City played a pivotal role in her music taste, citing her community as an inspiration for her artistry.
“I used to live in Addition Hills, the most congested, most populated area in our city. So, the houses are very close to each other. My neighbors would often play songs from Pinoy hip-hop artists such as Ron Henley, which I’m a huge fan of,” she reminisced.
She also mentioned her household as the catalyst for her love of R&B. Songs like “Bakit Pa Ba?” by Jay-R stuck with her as a little girl.
“Although I’m a rap artist, I love exploring R&B when it comes to my music because it really takes me back to a time when things were simpler and life felt lighter,” the artist explained.
It was only a matter of time before she started honing her music with the help of her fellow Mandaleño artists, which enabled her to embrace a unique yet authentic style.
“There was a certain time in my early music days when I couldn’t write and they [Guddhist Gunatita and Ghetto Gecko] invited me to their studio so we could make some songs. I feel like it really created this great foundation for me in terms of lyricism because I hung out with some of the greatest hip-hop artists from Mandaluyong,” she highlighted.
As a result, her coming-of-age journey as an artist became the motif of her album, a story-driven project inspired by lust, love, and dreams.
From Sneaky Link To Stinkalink When preparing for her album, Illest stumbled upon a beat given by her producers Radical and SEIS titled ‘Sneaky Link.’
Following her musical intuition, she gravitated towards the beat but had to reframe its meaning. She clung to her life experience as the main inspiration for the song, alluding to how she and her boyfriend started dating.
“During this time, I wrote ‘Slow Burn,’ a song about my boyfriend and our romance. So, when the beat [for Stinkalink] was given to me, I was already in a relationship and didn’t feel like writing something about sneaky links. And it sort of pushed me to instead reminisce about the early stages of our relationship since we started as friends and I wasn’t so sure if he liked me back at the time,” she expressed.
This story also became the blueprint of the music video’s storyline, referencing 2000s chick flicks such as Mean Girls and White Chicks.
“We had two weeks to prepare for the music video. I’ve always wanted to fulfill my early 2000s chick flick fantasy and I tried doing that for ‘Pick Up,’ but we didn’t have the budget at the time. As for the storyline, it was inspired by the period when my boyfriend and I used to party and we weren’t honest about our feelings. But we would get clingy with each other only when we’re drunk,” she said.
The star-studded music video included cameos from Sassa Gurl, Zae, Arkin Magalona, and Jonas Belgica.
She shared that one of the reasons behind Sassa’s appearance is their supposed resemblance according to netizens. Meanwhile, her dance battle with Zae is a homage to the female artist who came before her.
“We decided that Sassa would play the old version of me since I get a lot of comments about how we look alike. Then, my dance battle with Zae was so fun to shoot since I was doing it with the artist who made me feel like it was possible to be a female rapper in this country,” she shared.
As for the love interest, she wanted someone that resembled his partner. “Jonas is a good friend of mine and we go way back in 2019—when we used to dance together in a group called Aces. I thought that he could play the role well,” the artist recalled.
Arkin Magalona’s cameo is the cherry on top, continuing his late father’s legacy in the local hip-hop scene. “He [Arkin] is one of the few people I always meet during parties and I knew that he would kill the role of a party boy,” she said.
But for Illest, the presence of her long-time fans made the experience memorable and special. “My relationship with my fans is very tight. They inspire me as much as I inspire them. It started off as a small group and I made a group chat for us to directly talk to each other. Then, I invited them to my secret session where they listened to the album way before its release. And they all loved ‘Stinkalink’ so I knew I had to include them in the shoot,” she shared.
The Past and The Future While she is mostly known for her top hits ‘Pick Up’ and ‘Faded (Raw),’ Illest expressed her gratitude for the success that the songs have given her.
“You know, it’s really validating. It made me realize that if I did it once, then I could do it again. And it just keeps me motivated to push harder into creating what I want without thinking about the ‘formula,’ or what other people would say. When I made those two songs, I was only expressing myself and I feel like if I keep doing that, there’s nothing else that really matters. I don’t have to try to create a hit song. I just make a song and then I let it have its moment,” she said. This unapologetic demeanor resonates with the current landscape of the Filipino music industry, where artists can now freely express themselves without immense pressure from the public eye. However, for Illest, there is a price to pay.
“In exchange for that freedom, you will experience a lot of hardships and sacrifices. But what matters the most is that you should never lose your authenticity as it would really affect your relationship with your craft. I’m just very grateful because people’s tastes are more open to genres that were once frowned upon by the masses, especially hip-hop,” she mentioned.
The rapper assured that she is constantly making new music and plans to collaborate more with her peers.
“I’m always working on new music because I don’t want the feeling of being stagnant. Hopefully, I’ll get to do a concert soon but as of now, I’m just really focusing on creating more music and living life so that I could get more inspiration to write good music,” she shared.
Maki, Moira, Johnoy Danao, Ferdinand Aragon, Keith John Quito, Rinz Ruiz, and Sunkissed Lola’s Alvin Serito also took home awards.
Rising Filipino artists Tiara Shaye and Fana took home the coveted “Grand Champion” title at the PhilPop Himig Handog Songwriting Festival, held at the New Frontier Theater on Saturday evening.
Their winning entry, “Wag Paglaruan,” captivated the jury with its enduring songwriting appeal and contemporary artistry, standing out among the twelve finalists from the top Philippine songwriting competition. Tiara Shaye composed the award-winning piece, with both herself and Fana delivering a soulful take that further elevated the song’s crossover potential.
The competition also recognized other outstanding compositions. The Cebuano-penned track “Buhi,” composed by Keith John Quito and interpreted by Ferdinand Aragon, secured the first runner-up position, while the emotional ballad “Papahiram,” won second runner-up. Written by Rinz Ruiz and performed by acclaimed singer-songwriters Moira and Johnoy Danao, the song resonated deeply with both judges and audiences.
Other notable winners include “Kurba,” composed by Sunkissed Lola’s Alvin Serito and interpreted by chart-topping pop icon Maki.” The song received Smart People’s Choice Award and MYX Choice Award for Best Music Video. With nearly eight million streams on Spotify, it emerged as the most-streamed track in the competition.
Entries were evaluated based on artistic merit, composition, and originality. Jonathan Manalo, AVP/Creative Director of ABS-CBN Music explains, “The judges also evaluate a song’s uniqueness and its ability to stand out amongst the rest. This is usually seen in how the concept or the story is executed in a song or in the way the song is composed or arranged. Since it is also a pop songwriting contest, we also have to factor in a song’s relatability and appeal to the audience, especially with the younger fans.”
PhilPop Board Member and National Artist Ryan Cayabyab echoed this sentiment, praising the winners for embracing the modern sound of Filipino music and identifying with the younger fans. “We think these PhilPop Himig Handog songs stand out not just because of excellent songwriting and composition, but also because of their ability to relate to the stories of the Filipino audience.”
Among this year’s roster of the esteemed jury include Noel Cabangon, Jungee Marcelo, Trina Belamide, Nica del Rosario, Bret Jackson, Maribel Hernaez, and Yumi Lacsamana—a formidable team composed of multi-awarded composers, industry professionals, and music media executives.
PhilPop Himig Handog Songwriting Festival marks the first-ever collaboration between two of the country’s most prominent songwriting institutions. The collaborative venture between PhilPop and Himig Handog kicked off with an intensive two-month songwriting camp, culminating in the selection of the top 12 finalists who advanced to the main event.
PhilPop Executive Director, Dinah Remolacio, emphasized the festival’s significance in shaping the future of Original Pilipino Music (OPM), especially as it coincides with the movement’s 50th anniversary celebration. “The PhilPop Himig Handog Songwriting Festival’s goal was always to promote the excellence of Filipino songwriters and to push the possibilities of what Filipino music can be. We believe this is how we continue to celebrate the 50 years of OPM and how we continue to evolve the craft that makes us proud as Filipinos.”
While the finals night marked the culmination of the competition, the journey for these songs and their creators are far from over. According to Manalo, both PhilPop and Himig Handog are committed to providing ongoing support, which would eventually open doors to future opportunities for the finalists.
Even if the finals night is finished, he firmly stressed that they will continue to promote these songs because they represent the excellence of Filipino songwriting and music. “We can also expect the winners to become potential speakers and mentors for future songwriting camps so that they can share their story and their advice to other aspiring songwriters who would want to join our songwriting festivals in the future,” Manalo added.

Manila Onedoors, are you still alive?! Because what went down at the Araneta Coliseum on March 22, 2025, was far more than just a concert. It was an exhilarating rollercoaster of emotions, a karaoke bash, a quick Tagalog lesson for the boys, and an all-out burst of serotonin combined.
BOYNEXTDOOR transformed the Araneta Coliseum into a grand celebration as they brought their KNOCK ON Vol. 1 tour to Manila, giving Filipino fans an unforgettable night filled with dynamic performances and touching moments.

Even before the show kicked off, the crowd was already in full swing, belting out “Serenade” as if it were their final chance. No music? No issue. We sang regardless. Then, with a sudden knock on the night, the lights dimmed, and BOYNEXTDOOR appeared on stage with “Earth, Wind & Fire” and “Dangerous”, instantly igniting the venue with loud cheers from their supporters.
In the first talk segment, LEEHAN warmly welcomed everyone with, “Masaya kaming makita kayo,” while TAESAN energized the crowd, exclaiming, “Your energy is so amazing!”, as they soaked in the vibrant concert atmosphere that day in Manila.
BOYNEXTDOOR quickly set the evening’s vibe, delivering one electrifying performance after another and turning the stage into their own playground—while the official fandom, known as ONEDOOR, matched their energy. The boys showcased their skills with catchy songs like “But I Like You,” “l i f e i s c o o l,” and “OUR,” before transitioning into their more mellow yet emotionally charged tracks such as “Call Me,” “20,” and “IF I SAY, I LOVE YOU.” They also illustrated the essence of love with “ABCDLOVE” before taking us on a dramatic ride with “Amnesia.”
Following that were “Lucky Charm,” “Fadeaway,” “Crying,” “But Sometimes,” “Gonna Be A Rock,” and “One and Only,” leading to the ultimate twist specifically crafted for Onedoors in Manila during their “SKIT” segment. It felt like we were witnessing a group of theater enthusiasts reveling on stage as they displayed their charisma.

The concert was more than just the music. The band actively engaged the audience by attempting to converse in Filipino. LEEHAN charmed with, “Masaya kami makita kayo,” while WOONHAK elicited laughter with, “Edi wow!” Earlier, during their rendition of “But I Like You,” JAEHYUN declared, “ONEDOOR, mahal kita,” and followed up with a squeaky-voiced version of “ABCDLOVE,” as he and the others humorously utilized their BBNEXDO dolls as props. Not to be outshone, TAESAN joined the fun, stating, “Gusto kita.”
A surprise karaoke challenge had the group inviting fans to join in with “But I Like You,” and they were astounded by the enthusiasm and talent displayed. TAESAN, clearly impressed, remarked, “You guys are incredible,” while JAEHYUN added, “Are you professionals or something? Shouldn’t you be up on stage instead?”
One of the highlight moments of the night occurred during BOYNEXTDOOR’s rendition of “So let’s go see the stars,” a dazzling synth-pop song with romantic themes. The members elongated the track, urging those present to echo the chorus back to them. As they held their mics toward the crowd, fans’ voices resonated throughout the Araneta Coliseum, with the group fully engaged and enjoying the experience. Just when fans thought the show had concluded, the members dashed back on stage for another rendition of “But I Like You.”
Naturally, we weren’t going to let them leave without another performance. BOYNEXTDOOR came back for an encore featuring “Serenade” and “400 Years.” The atmosphere turned emotional when Filipino ONEDOOR surprised them with a heartfelt fan video filled with sincere messages, clips of fan-created art, and footage of themselves dancing to “IF I SAY, I LOVE YOU.”
Then came the standout moment with “So let’s go see the stars.” PH ONEDOOR illuminated the entire coliseum with their phone flashlights, transforming the Araneta Coliseum into a shimmering galaxy. As we sang together, the boys appeared completely taken aback, soaking up the love.
RIWOO energized us one last time with “Gusto kong marinig kayo, everybody scream!” and JAEHYUN left us with unforgettable words: “ONEDOOR, at this moment, you and I are one. It’s time for the final goodbye. I hope you enjoyed our songs. Wherever you are, may our songs be the soundtrack of your life and youth. I’ll do this for 400 years.”
Touched by the tribute, TAESAN commented, “It’s so sweet to think you were individually filming this and compiling it all together. I’m really moved. You all came to experience our concert, and we should be creating lasting memories for you. But thanks to you, ONEDOOR, you’ve gifted us with many beautiful memories to hold onto.”
JAEHYUN shared his pride with the fans and expressed his happiness that his family witnessed their affection in person. “Today, my mom and dad were here,” he mentioned. “The energy from ONEDOOR was so incredible, so I’ll tell my mom, ‘This is my ONEDOOR.’”
“Your support is truly, really warm. Today has been a memorable occasion for me. I genuinely want to express my gratitude. I hope we can meet again,” LEEHAN said. “Magkita tayo ulit. Mahal ko kayong lahat.”

Just when we believed it was all over, BOYNEXTDOOR rushed back for one last rendition of “But I Like You,” showing they were equally reluctant to depart. As their final song drew to a close, “Fadeaway” played in the background, with PH ONEDOOR continuing to sing along until the night ended, filled with joy and memories we’ll cherish for 400 years and more!
Organized by KOZ ENTERTAINMENT, HYBE, YJ Partners, and PULP Live World, the Manila segment of KNOCK ON Vol. 1 highlighted that BOYNEXTDOOR’s music and appeal cross borders. Thanks to the overwhelming enthusiasm and affection from their Filipino fans, this experience was not just a concert—it was a celebration of music, connection, and the promising future awaiting all six members.
The inaugural concert of BOYNEXTDOOR in Manila was an unforgettable evening for both the group and their fans. During KNOCK ON Vol. 1, JAEHYUN, SUNGHO, RIWOO, TAESAN, LEEHAN, and WOONHAK strengthened their connection with their Filipino ONEDOOR. Given the overwhelming love they experienced, it’s clear that this won’t be the last time they take the stage in the Philippines.

The outdoor festival aims to provide an affordable and inclusive live music experience for the most passionate supporters of local artists.
Independent events production company Minsan Studio (stylized as ‘minsan studio’), gears up for the debut of their own music festival, Minsan Fest, on May 17, 2025, at Quezon City Memorial Circle.
The festival, which kicks off at 2 PM onwards, is explicitly designed to be accessible for students and young fans.
The maiden edition of Minsan Fest features a dynamic lineup of both established and emerging local music acts, including The Itchyworms, Mayonnaise, Ebe Dancel, Zild, Autotelic, Reese Lansangan, Clara Benin, Autotelic, TONEEJAY, SUD, thesunmanager, and Minaw.
According to minsan studio head Jason Conanan, the event aims to provide an affordable and inclusive live music experience, particularly for students who are often the most passionate supporters of local artists.
“We have always done our best to make things accessible for the most hardcore fans, and we believe the students are the heart of that,” says Conanan. “They are the key to long-term careers for creatives, as they are the ones who actively engage with the artists and the music, share them with their friends, and once they enter the workforce, continue to support their favorites throughout their careers. We want to create an event that allows them to experience a festival of this scale without having to ask their parents for extra money.”
What sets Minsan Fest apart from other music festivals is its egalitarian approach to artist billing. Instead of emphasizing headliners, the festival treats all performers as equals, recognizing that each artist brings a unique fanbase and presence to the stage.
“There is no headliner because we believe every artist in our lineup has their own following,” Conanan explains. He also highlights the festival’s commitment to documentation, ensuring that performances are captured as a valuable marketing tool for bands to expand their reach and pitch for future festivals and opportunities.
In line with its commitment to accessibility and sustainability, minsan studio is launching the minsan pass, an eco-friendly digital pass available in the form of a lanyard or bag tag. The pass, priced at PHP 349 for attendees aged 24 and below and PHP 699 for adults, serves as a scannable contact card that grants entry to Minsan Fest and future events hosted by the production outfit.
“The minsan pass will act as a gateway to our future events, whether it’s a gig, workshop, concert, or possibly another music festival,” Conanan shares. “It also provides early access for updates about our upcoming shows and projects.”
Minsan Fest is organized in partnership with the Quezon City local government, with a shared commitment to producing shows with minimal environmental impact. “In line with that, we decided to launch a way for things to be a little more sustainable,” Conanan adds.
