The single is the second offering from SOS’s upcoming EP titled โIt Was A Momentโโtheir first with Alonzo and under Careless Musicโout on September 29.
SOS continues to explore new directions and expand their repertoire with their latest track, โRoses,โ the second single from their forthcoming EP.
โRosesโ is the follow-up to last yearโs โSeryoso,โ the bandโs first Filipino-language track which starred award-winning actor Jericho Rosales in the accompanying visual. Both will be part of the upcoming EP, which marks SOSโs first release under local label Careless Music.
The single dovetails SOSโs renewed approach to songwriting and music production, which they started delving into in the 2020s The Other Side EP after they announced the bandโs name change from Sheโs Only Sixteen last year.
โโRosesโ is a little more intimate than most of our songs,โ explains vocalist Roberto Seรฑa. โIt has a feeling of lushness that I always aim for when producing songs lately. Itโs rare that we write a love song free from the angst and jadedness that I think we have become known for.โ Seรฑa adds the production was inspired by the 1980s, incorporating synths and guitar work from the pop-dominated decade, but still grounded on the familiar sound fans have enjoyed from SOS over the years.
More lyrically optimistic than their pre-pandemic releases, โRosesโ also continues to employ new and more varied stylistic choices reflective of the rest of the EP, with each song meticulously going through the bandโs โmusical cutting board,โ shares guitarist Andrew Panopio.
Titled It Was A Moment, the five-track EP is due on September 29, 2023. The band committed to a two-week production schedule for the project, says drummer King Puentespina. โWe set schedules, deadlines and did a proper pre-prod to solidify our intentions for the project. The concept of the songs revolves around the moments and the anxieties of growing up and facing these emotions.โ
Also following last yearโs significant change to the Manila-based bandโs decade-long career is the addition of Ram Alonzo on keys. He has been a session player for SOS since their time in college and has long been considered an unofficial member.
Alonzo recalls being asked to join the band lineup earlier this year formally. โSeรฑa asked if I was game to join the band. I only had one answer in mind: โHell yeah.โ And then we all drank to it. Iโve been playing with SOS since 2014 and joining the band felt right.โ
โWith all the different experimentation with samples, keys, and synths, we thought it was about time to add a new member. In the studio, Ram glues in all our musical ideas together because of his knowledge of music theory and vast musical taste,โ shares Seรฑa.
Bassist Anjo Silvoza adds, โThereโs so much more depth to how we sound live that I think has been missing all these years.โ Especially now that he felt the new EP serves as a transitional era to SOS. โWeโve not boxed into categories anymore, weโre taking the good things weโve learned from our listeners and fans and building off of that, and hopefully โRosesโ and the rest of our upcoming releases will be able to stand alone.โ

Bruno Major performed an enthralling set at the New Frontier Theater as part of his Tour of Planet Earth. Presented by Karpos Multimedia, the sold-out show gave the Filipino crowd a strange kind of beautiful evening (yes, just like his song).
As it was in his recently released album Columbo, the introductory song for the concert was โThe Show Must Go Onโ, setting the soft mood for the evening. As the lyrics go, โIf you’re always putting on a show / you’ll lose yourself before you know / as easy lovers come, and easy goโ. There was that tinge of melancholy, and maybe a memory of a heartbreak, but there was that soothing feel to it.
The 35-year-old British singer-songwriter is no stranger to our country. In 2018, he played as part of Karpos Live Mix 3 line-up. โManila, I came here a long time ago, before lockdown. I canโt believe I got to come back five years later,โ he recounted.
Since 2019, this is Bruno Majorโs step to touring the world again. His sophomore album A Song for Every Moon was released in the midst of the global pandemic in 2020. A month ago, he also released his third album, Columbo. This tour is his first time performing the songs from the two albums live.
Listening to Bruno Major perform his songs one after another, anyone in that theater could tell the concert was of a different kind. He was backed up by a live band (with keyboards, drums, and guitars), yet sitting there as part of the audience felt a bit like witnessing a classical music performance.
It wasnโt one where people sang along to every word, where they hoot and dance gleefully all throughout. Instead, it thrived on silence, solemnity even. It was the kind of concert where you listen and let the music and the poetry of the lyrics sink into you. Even in the moments when people sang, it was still done with the utmost respect.
โI woke up this morning and I couldnโt talk. I was so scared. Iโve never canceled a show,โ he revealed to the crowd midway. He took some medicines (a thousand lozenges according to him) and he was relieved when he was able to sing again. โIโm so honored to be able to perform across the worldโ.
Each Bruno Major song has a characteristic imprint, a distinct concoction of feelings that clings to you. There was the passive-aggressive jealousy inโFair-Weather Friendโ, the extensive ode to love in โWouldnโt Mean a Thingโ and โHomeโ, the wistful romance in โRegentโs Parkโ and โThe Most Beautiful Thingโ, the discrete catharsis of โJust the Sameโ.
When it was time for him to perform โNothingโ, his most-streamed track (and one that went viral on Tiktok), he requested that people light up their phones because โthereโs a light at the end of it about starsโ.
โI love you very much. Youโre f*cking awesome and I feel like Iโm home,โ Bruno Major said. He promised to come back and play in a bigger venue. For the encore, he performed โEasilyโ and โThe Endโ.
Tomorrow X Together, also known as TXT, makes history for being the 3rd K-pop group to hold their solo concert in the biggest indoor stadium in the world, the Philippine Arena.
Their world tour, Act: Sweet Mirage, which started in Seoul in March, made its final stop in our country. Living up to the tour title, TXT, composed of Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai, captured the Filipino crowd with a thrilling and visually captivating three-hour concert with a 26-track setlist that was so grand, it felt like a beautiful dream. Presented by Live Nation, the show was indeed one for the books.

TXT gave the best possible performance. Their production was very sophisticated, every detail contributing wonders to the magnificent end result. The show had all the glitz and glamor youโd expect in a world-class concert โ the massive stage, the bursting confetti, the blazing pyrotechnics, the rising platforms, and the dazzling animation โ Act: Sweet Mirage had all that and enhanced each one to create magic. Being there was a visceral experience.
The opening animation was nothing short of a scene in a real-life fairytale. The screen showed a carousel spinning with starlight flowing out like glitters and orbs of bright lights rising up amidst a floating castle, with the sound of orchestra swelling in the background. The five members of TXT appeared in their princely garb and it was time for the first song: โBlue Hourโ. This was followed by heaps of their upbeat pop tracks โCanโt We Leave the Monster Alive?โ, โDramaโ and โNo Rulesโ.
MOA, the official name of TXTโs fans, had their moments with their idols. Dedicated as they are, they were able to follow through the fan chants per song plus they had a lot of energy to go along with the whims of the boys. During โCat & Dogโ, they were filling out the barks in the songs. With their lightsticks called โMOAbongโ in hand, they created a tsunami-like wave from the floor area to the upper floors. They also played a short follow-me game with TXT as lead initiators.

The fairytale setting took a darker turn by the time โWe Lost the Summerโ played, yet the crowdโs energy just got more passionate than before. Crimson lights took over during the angsty rock-infused track โCanโt You See Me?โ, with flames bursting in the middle of the song. The Philippine Arena was bursting with life as the crowd sang along loudly to โ0X1=LOVESONGโ, โLO$ER=LOโกERโ, โDear Sputnikโ and โMagicโ.
When TXT came back for โOpening Sequenceโ, they treated the audience to an enthralling dance spectacle. Spotlights shone on them as they performed an interpretative dance during the songโs introduction. This was followed by the melancholic โAnti-Romanticโ and the two-faced โEternallyโ.
In any concert, a setlist featuring more than twenty tracks is bound to be tiring. However, that was not the case for TXT. In fact, 26 songs felt like a breeze because they delivered each track with sharp choreography and smooth vocals, never showing signs of exhaustion. They also performed โGood Boy Gone Badโ, โDevil by the Windowโ, โHappy Foolsโ and โSugar Rush Rideโ. The superb sound engineering during the show also contributed to that. Another noticeable feature of the concert was the strikingly clear sound quality.
MOAs and TXT: “Underneath the blazing sun YOU and I have become WE”
As the final stop of TXTโs world tour, MOAs made sure to come prepared with their own fan projects. They did a unified banner project with the words โUnderneath the blazing sun, you and I have became โweโ โ which was a reference to TXTโs song โOur Summerโ. (Ironically, the sun was actually blazing on that day. Anyone who went would have felt the 40-degree heatwave in the afternoon until the evening.) MOAs also prepared glowing blue roses which lit up when the encore song โBlue Springโ was almost done.
Similarly, Filipino MOAs were lucky enough to experience one-of-a-kind surprises. For one thing, the members of TXT surprised Huening Kai with a birthday greeting in the middle of their ment. His birthday was just a few hours away from that evening. The birthday celebrant was delighted by the animated penguin on the screen and joked that it danced better than him. He also thanked the crowd as well as his bandmates and said that it was his dream to have a concert on his birthday.

Another unique surprise was the live performance of โDo It Like Thatโ. The song, which is a collaboration with the Jonas Brothers, was only performed live during TXTโs very recent set at Lollapalooza in the US, and we were the only country on the world tour that got to see it live.
Lastly, we were the only ones who got an encore, after the encore. As the boys were saying farewell, almost ready to leave the stage, Taehyun suddenly said, โBecause we received so many things from you, I think we have to give back as wellโ as they performed โMOA Diaryโ which is their first fan song.
Soobin, the bandโs leader, was nearly teary-eyed when he thanked the crowd at the end, โI think, Philippines, Iโm destined to love this country. You prepared so many things for us that we donโt feel regretful that this is the last concert. I enjoyed this concert more than ever.โ
Huening Kai was also overwhelmed, โIโm so happy today. Thank you for joining this beautiful last concert of ours. We will be coming back soon. You guys will wait for us, right? Promise! We love you so much.โ
โIโm so thankful that even today, you gave us so much comfort and loveโฆ I hope you cherish these memories we have together. Letโs keep seeing each other next year and next, next year. I love you guys,โ Beomgyu said with a bright smile.
โEven this year, Iโve fallen in love with you guys. Thank you so much for decorating our last concert beautifully to the point where we were able to finish this concert really well. Iโm so happy right now. I guess, Iโll miss you guys so much,โ Yeonjun sweetly told the crowd.

TXTโs Act: Sweet Mirage in the Philippine Arena was truly a concert worth experiencing live. It was worth the time, the effort, the travel, and the money. To put it bluntly, the show was magical.
TXT has outdone themselves with this concert. They showed that they are capable of conquering the biggest indoor stadium in the world. Their performance was undoubtedly top-notch. The showโs production is on a grander scale than most concerts. From the sound to the lighting, from the fireworks to the confetti, from the theatrics to the choreography, itโs a spectacle you wouldnโt normally see anywhere. If you didnโt see it, you sadly missed out, but look on the brighter side: TXT promised to come back! Weโre already excited to see them again.

From the moment I entered the venue, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation. The stage was set with state-of-the-art lighting and sound equipment, creating the perfect ambiance for a rock concert. The crowd was buzzing with energy and enthusiasm, eagerly waiting for the last show of Mr. Big in Manila.
Lead vocalist Eric Martin, bassist/vocalist Billy Sheehan, guitarist/vocalist Paul Gilbert, and drummer Nick D’Virgilio make up Mr. Big. Nick is filling in for founding drummer and vocalist Pat Torpey, who passed away in 2018 following a valiant struggle against Parkinson’s disease.
As the lights dimmed and the band emerged, the audience erupted in applause. Mr. Big kicked off the show with their classic hit “Addicted to that Rush,” instantly captivating everyone in the room. The band’s performance was nothing short of exceptional, showcasing their incredible musicianship and stage presence. Each member exuded passion and dedication, making it evident that this farewell concert was a momentous occasion for them as well.
Throughout the night, Mr. Big treated us to a mix of their greatest hits and deep cuts, delivering an electric performance that had the crowd singing along and dancing. Songs like “To Be With You,” “Green-Tinted Sixties Mind,” and “Just Take My Heart” reminded us why we fell in love with their music in the first place. The band’s chemistry was palpable, and their connection with the audience was truly special.
In addition to their phenomenal musical talent, the band took the time to engage with the crowd, sharing stories, and expressing their gratitude for the years of support. It was evident that Mr. Big genuinely enjoyed performing and cherishing this final chapter of their musical journey.

To mark his ten-year milestone in the industry, the highly-commended South Korean actor returned to Manila for his fan meeting titled the 2023 Jung Hae In [The 10th Season] Fan Meeting in Manila at the New Frontier Theater last Sunday, August 6, 2023.
Jung Hae In made his acting debut in the 2014 drama Bride of the Century and is most known for his role as the endearing Han Woo-tak, the cool and collected police officer who won over the hearts of the Haeiness, in the series While You Were Sleeping, and he was eventually given the main billing for major dramas like Something in the Rain, Prison Playbook, One Spring Night, A Piece of Your Mind, Snowdrop, Connect, and D.P. which second season has been recently released.
Jung Hae In started off the event to a familiar tune โ singing Kevin Oh’s โCrazyโ OST from his series D.P., and just like the song, the fan meeting has been a Haeinessโ dream come true โ four years of making and waiting for his comeback.
The whole fan meet had been meticulously planned and orchestrated from the stage design to the set selection of songs for his fans. It gave us a vibe of like we’re “catching up” with his life between his first ten years in the industry and the subsequent four years following his second fan meeting, One Summer Night in Manila, last September 2019.
Divided into fun segments called “seasons”, the 10th Season Photo Memory stood out the most for us. Here, the actor shared the behind-the-scenes stories of the snapshots from his dramas and other activities, including his trips.
The award-winning actor also took fans to the Jung Hae In Museum, where he displayed items from his dramas and even shared some with his fans! What a treat! During one of the segments, he shared that he does not have plans to marry yet as he wants to focus on his acting, saying, “I love acting more.” He cheered Filo Haeiness “fighting” to get D.P. Season 2 rank higher, as he checked it on the 10th spot in the country. He gave advice about love and choosing what you love, saying to “love without regret, love with everything you have, so you won’t have regrets because you have given your all.”
Haeiness will surely be thrilled to have a perfect time with him as their Prince Charming. He played golf, wore cute headbands, gave gifts to lucky fans, and took tons of selfies. What else could a fan ask for?
Jung Hae In prepared so much for this much-awaited reunion with Filipino Haeiness. He sang โMemories More Than Loveโ and wrapped his fan meeting with “I Choose to Love You.” His Filo Haeiness also prepared something for him, which made him a little emotional. He thanked them and said, “Filipino Haeiness are the best!”
Everyone must have been very happy to be reunited with him after four years since his last visit. He made sure fans would have a good time with him by even allowing them to take videos and photos during the goodbye session. He also stopped the queue and politely asked us not to take selfies because he wanted to see our eyes, not the camera. Wow! Thatโs the ultimate fan service for everyone who wanted to see him up close.
This fan meet is definitely another season to remember. Just like his song, ๋ ์ฌ๋ํ๊ฒ ์ด ์ธ์ ๊น์ง๋ โ Haeiness will love him in every season and forever!

Best known for its witty and punny Filipino lines on shirts and content, Linya-Linya has long been doing its part to put smiles on its partner organizations through โTulong-Tulong,โ a program for all of the brandโs outreach efforts. Currently, Linya-Linya partners with several organizations that cover advocacy on education, equality, and animal welfare, including AHA! Learning Center, Angat Buhay Foundation, Mindanao Pride, Love Yourself PH, and Pawssion Project.
Through selling of select shirts and other merch, Linya-Linya is able to provide funds and awareness to help the said organizations. Linya-Linyaโs Creative Director Ali Sangalang explains the importance of extending a helping hand to amplify the messaging of the cause. โBilang mga Pilipinong humaharap sa ibaโt ibang hamon sa panahon ngayon, mahalaga ang tulong. Tulong-Tulong started at the height of the pandemic when front liners and families at risk needed medical-grade supplies. To extend help, portions of the sales of selected Linya-Linya shirts were donated to Frontline Feeders PH, AHA! Learning Center, and Life Cycles PH.
With the success of this simple gesture to help people in need amidst the pandemic, Linya-Linya strengthens the initiative by giving shirts to AHA students, mothers, and teachers! Learning Center and supported in renovating the Angat Buhay Community Learning Hub in Area 17, UP Campus, Quezon City.

Linya-Linya Land 2023 will be happening on August 26, 2023, at 123 Block in Mandaluyong City. This yearโs edition marks an impactful comeback with a lineup featuring some of the most notable names in music, comedy, and art.
