  • SB19โ€™s JOSH CULLEN redefines love song in โ€œPakiusap Langโ€

SB19โ€™s JOSH CULLEN redefines love song in โ€œPakiusap Langโ€

After debuting as a bonafide solo star with the edgy banger โ€œWild Tonight,โ€ SB19โ€™s Josh Cullen continues his winning streak with the release of his follow-up single under Sony Music Entertainment.

Aptly titled โ€œPakiusap Lang,โ€ Josh Cullen proves that there are no four walls that can contain him when it comes to writing and producing a straightforward love song meshed with trap-laden beats and hip-hop verses.

SEE ALSO: SB19โ€™s JOSH CULLEN reinvents himself as a Pop Star with debut single โ€œWILD TONIGHT

โ€œThe lyrics came from my heart, and I wanted to make sure the arrangement and sonic vibe reflected my Filipino hip-hop side,โ€ Cullen reveals. โ€œMy cousin and his friends helped out with the chorus, and we all had a good time putting it together.โ€

According to SB19โ€™s resident lead rapper and sub-vocalist, โ€œPakiusap Langโ€ is a song that is based on his personal experiences and thoughts about relationships. He further explains, โ€œIt’s all about the struggles of maintaining a relationship when you can’t be with your partner all the time due to work or other struggles going on in life. The song encourages the listener to hold on and trust the process.โ€

A romantic rap ballad that forays into emotional honesty as much as it does with stylistic finesse, โ€œPakiusap Langโ€ shows a different side of Josh Cullen: an entertainer that doesnโ€™t need to resort to gimmicks just to prove his point.

The release of the track comes with an upcoming music video that explores the idea of โ€œholding onto the memories of your loved one, even when you know itโ€™s time to let go.โ€ Directed by frequent collaborator Toothless (who also helmed the MV of SB19โ€™s โ€œBazinga), the visuals bring Cullenโ€™s ideas to life and expand on his initial concept with an element of mystery and an understated delivery.

It also stars KAIA members Angela and Charice, who happen to be the main characters in the MV. The two multi-talented artists also dabbled in acting prior to their debut as P-Pop artists.

Cullen shares, โ€œWhen I was planning out the music video for โ€˜Pakiusap Lang,โ€™ I knew I wanted to create a story that was emotional and impactful. As I was brainstorming ideas, I thought about the possibility of incorporating plot twists into the video, to really capture the viewer’s attention. That’s when I had the idea to feature KAIA members Angela and Charice in the video. I had worked with them before and knew that they would bring a lot of talent and creativity to the project. Plus, their presence in the video would add an extra layer of intrigue and excitement for viewers. It was a pleasure to work with such talented and dedicated individuals, and I couldn’t be happier with how the video turned out.โ€

โ€œPakiusap Langโ€ will be part of the upcoming debut EP of Josh Cullen, which will be released sometime this year. According to the rising multihyphenate, the maiden record sounds like a fusion of hip-hop and pop music, with his cousin Ocho helping him out in producing, conceptualizing, and refining the tracks. โ€œYou can expect a mix of different sounds and genre influences, but overall, it’s a reflection of my journey as an artist and a person,โ€ Cullen adds.

JOSH CULLENโ€™s โ€œPakiusap Langโ€ is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment. The music video for โ€œPakiusap Langโ€ dropped at 7 p.m. on April 21, 2023 (Friday).

FELIP, DILAW, LOLA AMOUR, AND MORE TO KICKOFF WARNER MUSIC PHILIPPINESโ€™ ‘WE PLAY HERE’

The April 27 event jumpstarts the 30th anniversary celebration of the global music labelโ€™s presence in the Philippines.

Itโ€™s a celebration of star-studded proportions with the launch of Warner Music Philippinesโ€™ We Play Here!

As part of the labelโ€™s core mission to be at the forefront of championing Filipino music, Warner Music Philippines is celebrating its 30th anniversary in the country with a series of live performances and events to bring fans as well as local and international artists even closer together. To jumpstart the celebrations, six of the countryโ€™s most beloved musical acts are coming together for a one-of-a-kind, high-energy event.

SB19โ€™s Kenโ€”performing under his mononym FELIPโ€”leads the lineup after his stellar solo debut earlier this year. After just three months since the release of his debut EP, COMยทPLEX has over 3 million total streams on Spotify, with three of his singles charting on the platformโ€™s Viral 50 Philippines playlist. He also received rave reviews for his dark and edgy brand of hip hop, with publications such as HipHopDX Asia saying that, โ€œFELIP allows himself to go to the farthest, most experimental, and even most unthinkable places and tap into his own instincts to make music and art with the utmost freedom.โ€

The rising Davao-based hip hop group PLAYERTWO are expected to bring their a-game to the Samsung Hall stage. Composed of vocalists-producers Ivo Impreso, Luke April, Wave P, and visual directors Puhken and Ven Villariza, they soared to the top of the Spotify charts, with their breakout single โ€œTHATโ€™S MY BABYโ€ garnering over 9 million streams. Their latest release, โ€œTIKTIKTOKINโ€ has become a fan favorite as the quintet make their way all over the Philippines on their THATโ€™S MY BABY tour.

Rounding out the hip hop artists on the lineup is R&B singer and rapper JRLDM. A multi-awarded and internationally recognized performer, he is best known for his emotional and heartfelt flows that resonate with audiences. He, alongside labelmate Arkho of Midnasty, joined the inaugural edition of The Regionals: Philippines, the Philippine leg of the first ever Pan-Asia rap cypher series.

Rising pop band Dilaw will also be performing during the event. The band went viral on social media for their breakout song, โ€œUhaw (Tayong Lahat),โ€ with over 22 million Spotify streams and over 1 million videos on TikTok. Just recently, the track clinched the top spot of Spotifyโ€™s Top Songs Philippines chart. Theyโ€™re ready to bring their brand of unconventional lyricism and catchy tunes to the Samsung Hall stage.

Beloved pop rock band Lola Amour is one of the biggest acts in the music industryโ€”playing in some of the biggest malls, schools, and festivals in the country. Their status as a fan favorite in the country definitely shows, especially with multiple Awit Award nominations to their name. As one of the most exciting bands in the scene today, theyโ€™ve played in venues all over the country, from malls, and even music festivals. Get ready to sing along to some of their biggest hits like โ€œFallen,โ€ โ€œPwede Ba,โ€ or โ€œMadali.โ€

Last but definitely not the least are the soul and R&B duo Leanne & Naara, who are set to complete the eventโ€™s star-studded lineup. The pair is considered as one of the most decorated contemporary acts today, especially after they dominated the Awit Awards and snagged the highly-coveted Song of the Year and Album of the Year awards. Their silky smooth vocals are sure to sweep audiences off their feet.

โ€œOur We Play Here series showcases and celebrates everything that is so exciting about where this generation of Filipino artists is at right now,โ€ shares Sarah Ismail, Managing Director of Warner Music Philippines. โ€œThe acts are bigger, better, and more diverse than ever before, and our whole team is so proud of the role that Warner Music Philippines is playing in the global rise of OPM.

  • TREASURE and PH Teumes Teamed Up for an Electrifying and Moving HELLO Tour in Manila

TREASURE and PH Teumes Teamed Up for an Electrifying and Moving HELLO Tour in Manila

TREASURE and Philippine Teumes crafted a stellar concert that never stopped dazzling with tremendous intensity, untouchable performances of outstanding live vocals, powerful raps, energizing dances, and immaculate harmony, backed by an outstanding stage production and with Teulights shining brilliantly and proudly.

Choi Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jaehyuk, Asahi, Haruto, Doyoung, Park Jeongwoo, and So Junghwan completely dominated the Philippine concert stage from the opening through the encore stages of the 2023 TREASURE TOUR [HELLO] IN MANILA, showcasing TREASURE’s formidable abilities, solid skills, charming personalities, and commanding stage presence. Philippine Teumes returned the fervor with relentless vigor and endearing fan initiatives, giving the boys an unforgettable hello that made saying goodbye tough.

Even before the event began, the atmosphere inside the arena was electric as fans unceasingly chanted their support for the boy group with cheer after cheer. And when Choi Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jaehyuk, Asahi, Haruto, Doyoung, Park Jeongwoo, and So Junghwan ascended the stage, the crowd erupted in thunderous excitement, giving them the loudest and warmest welcome.

Witnessing TREASURE perform on their own concert stage last April 14 and 15 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena was a proud moment and a shared dream realized. It sparked memories of their beginning in YG Treasure Box and seeing them carry heavy expectations and people’s doubts, and now watching with pride as they move forward relentlessly with love and support from thousands of people.

From YG Treasure Box to their Own Concert Stage: Philippines says “HELLO” to TREASURE

With Choi Hyunsuk’s “Are you ready for this?! Let’s go, Philippines!”, TREASURE officially opened the Philippine leg of their ongoing first concert tour with “JIKJIN”, their debut title song “BOY”, and “I LOVE YOU”.

Let’s remember where we started. We can do it.

CHOI HYUN SUK from the vcr played during the concert

The feelings of nostalgia persisted strongly when the boys returned with “Going Crazy”, the pre-debut song that they first performed in YG Treasure Box and was later on added to their first studio album, The First Step: TREASURE EFFECT. Teumes put all of their efforts into singing along to the undeniably fan-favorite tune as soon as the first note filled the arena. Adding to the elation, the boy group performed “Come to Me” and “B.L.T. (Bling Like This)” with charm.

Following a spectacular opening set for the HELLO Tour in Manila, Choi Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jaehyuk, Asahi, Haruto, Doyoung, Park Jeongwoo, and So Junghwan greeted the Filipino crowd with their trademark introduction, “Find Your TREASURE! Hello, we are TREASURE!” After nine months since making their local stage debut in July 2022, each member remarked how eager they were to get back on the local concert stage and reconnect with their fans.

Jihoon said, “I love you! Mahal kita! Let’s have fun today.” The other members shared this sentiment, expressing their wish and promise for a fun-filled evening of music and lasting memories for all โ€” a promise they kept as an undeniably spectacular and remarkable concert unfolded that evening.

They then sang breathtaking and touching renditions of “SLOW MOTION” and “IT’S OKAY” which further showcased their incredible singing skills, rap prowess, and flawless harmonies.

Following a VCR in which they sweetly expressed how much they missed their fans with handwritten words, TREASURE came back on stage to perform “HELLO” and “CLAP!” from their second extended play, The Second Step: Chapter Two, which has been certified double platinum by South Korea’s Circle Album Chart. TREASURE and Teumes then joined forces for an unplanned duet of “CLAP!” before the boy group resumed performance mode with a delightful staging of another crowd favorite, “DARARI,” which featured the TikTok dance made by fans in the choreography.

TREASURE then performed a beautiful rendition of “Orange” and as the stage lift rose, the members looked tenderly at the crowd that welcomed them back with open arms and proud cheers. Hands raised up, Teumes teamed up with the boys in “Hold It In”.

I think that last stage was really touching.

    DOYOUNG

An adorable ment with Jihoon, Junkyu, Yoon Jaehyuk, Doyoung, Park Jeongwoo, and So Junghwan while the rest of the members prepare for the next stages. They asked for recommendations from the fans on what to eat in Manila to which fans responded with adobo, Jollibee, among others. Cheers erupted when the boys began giving pick-up lines in Taglish. It was a cute interaction to watch as the fans playfully replied to the pick-up lines.

Asahi and Haruto returned to the stage to rock it with “Thank You”, and the boy group’s rap lineโ€”Choi Hyunsuk, Yoshi, and Harutoโ€”delivered an explosive performance of “VolKno”. There was no time for energy to wane with the live band on the tour amplifying the anticipation that led to TREASURE’s full group return with “MMM,”

TREASURE paid homage to their senior YG Entertainment labelmates iKON and BIGBANG with flawless and charged-up renditions of “Rhythm Ta” and “Bang Bang Bang”.

Teume liked this song very much so I really want to perform it on stage. Teume, thank you!

    ASAHI on “THANK YOU”

To show their appreciation, the boys thanked Teumes in Filipino, saying “salamat” and bowing to the crowd. In addition, Choi Hyunsuk, Yoshi, and Haruto spoke about “VolKno” and conveyed their appreciation to Treasure Makers for their love and support, which enabled them to produce a music video to accompany the song. And the enjoyable moments keep coming with sexy dancing to “Rhythm Ta” by Junkyu, Jihoon, and Choi Hyunsuk.

Everyone’s heart went ddu-du ddu-du when TREASURE performed “U” and “MY TREASURE”.

HELLO to a Promise of Forever

Following a short break, TREASURE returned for their encore stages. They performed “EVERYDAY”, a special fan song they released in celebration of their first debut anniversary, and “Best Friend Forever”, an official soundtrack of their web series, The Mysterious Class, and later released as a track in the CD version of The Second Step: Chapter One album.

TREASURE’s return for the encore stages was welcomed by a sea of blue and white on the first day of the concert and rainbow hues on the second. Philippine Treasure Makers illuminated the arena with the special fan project, along with touching banner messages of “Let the Pearl of the Orient Seas TREASURE you” and “No matter how hard it gets, we’ll always say HELLO to our promise of forever.”

Don’t worry. Lean on us. We are not going anywhere, MY TREASURE!

As the concert approaches its end, the members gave Treasure Makers heartfelt thanks and messages of appreciation for their love and support. Yoshi termed the concert a “big pleasure” and urged the audience to support them in the future. Choi Hyunsuk, Junkyu, and Park Jeongwoo vowed to deliver stronger performances and give their all to make Treasure Makers proud. “I got so much energy from all of you tonight. And I hope you were also able to get energy from us. I will work harder to be your grown man Jeongwoo. Kita-kita tayo ulit,” Park Jeongwoo said.

Jihoon and Asahi thanked the Philippine Teumes for their unrelenting energy throughout the show. “I wanna say thank you very much because Manila Teume gave us a lot of love. Thank you so much! Mahal kita,” Jihoon said. Asahi added, “Thank you so much for today. You guys gave me amazing love and energy. I wish you happiness all the time. Take care and see you soon.”

You guys have changed my life today. I can’t forget this moment forever. I hope Teume will be the happiest person in the entire world. Love you! Thank you! Salamat! Thank you!

    YOON JAEHYUK

Haruto expressed his delight at finally meeting Treasure Makers and performing in front of them again. “Your love and support make me so proud. Thank you always. Take care. Until next time,” he added. So Junghwan echoed his hyungs‘ gratitude and promise. “Today, we had our concert here in Manila. Thanks to Manila Teume, we had a great and amazing time again. I promise to come back here again soon. So please wait for us. Salamat,” he said.

My Treasure Maker, thank you for coming today. I will remember this moment and never forget the love and energy from you all. You are my Teume and I’m your Doyoung. I love you not to the world, but to the universe!

    DOYOUNG

Teumes also didn’t let the evening go by without giving Choi Hyunsuk and Haruto a sweet birthday memory. The fans arranged a cake, a birthday banner, and native leis of modern Kalinga design for the boys and sang them a birthday song. The birthday boys were overjoyed and expressed their appreciation for the lovely surprise. Haruto turned 19 on April 5, while Choi Hyunsuk will turn a year older on April 21.

The concert’s finale featured TREASURE performing “DARARI (Rock Version),” “HELLO,” and a remix of “Going Crazy,” “B.L.T.”, and “Orange”. On the second day of the concert, the boy group, who were overwhelmed by the fan initiative, also gave a spontaneous performance of “BEAUTIFUL,” their Japanese digital single that served as the title song for the anime Black Cover.

Less than three years after making their eagerly awaited debut, TREASURE demonstrated through the HELLO Tour that they could stand alone and play on their own concert stage. There was never a dull moment as each performance demonstrated the tremendous talent of each member and their capacity to rule any concert stage.

Ten diamonds, a devoted fandom, two days of unrelenting enthusiasm on one concert stage, and a memory to be cherished forever โ€”TREASURE and Philippine Treasure Makers put on a stunning concert of electrifying performances and high-energy stages, complete with thundering cheers, vibrant and brilliant Teulights, and a commitment to making the evening the best for one another.

This Treasure Maker is proud of TREASURE. The boys she saw courageously take on the challenge of competition in YG Treasure Box, continually confront the skepticism of others, say goodbyes, and shoulder the weight of high expectations carried on and showed to the world what a TREASURE they are.

This Treasure Maker is proud of Choi Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jaehyuk, Asahi, Haruto, Doyoung, Park Jeongwoo, and So Junghwan and is not going anywhere.

  • Chris Hemsworth is back as Tyler Rake in Extraction 2

Chris Hemsworth is back as Tyler Rake in Extraction 2

Chris Hemsworth’s newest action movie “Extraction 2” has its first trailer available on Netflix. The project is a follow-up to the blockbuster 2020 movie that’s also directed by Sam Hargrave.

    Courtesy of Netflix

Joe Russo, who produced the movie with his brother Anthony, is also back to pen the script for the much awaited sequel. It is based on the Ande Parks, the Russo brothers, Fernando Leon Gonzalez, and Eric Skillman comic novel “Ciudad.”

โ€œAfter barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.โ€

You can check out the trailer here:

As black ops mercenary Tyler Rake, Chris Hemsworth reprises his role in the film. Golshifteh Farahani, Adam Bessa, Daniel Bernhardt, and Tinatin Dalakishvili also play supporting roles. Rake, of course, was assumed dead at the conclusion of the first movie, but the door was left just slightly open so that he could return. It’s understandable why Rake is returning given that “Extraction” received more than 231 million hours of viewing in its first 28 days, at least based on Netflix’s internal data.

“Extraction 2” premieres June 16th only on Netflix.

Aside from being members of K-Pop supergroups EXO and I.O.I, Baekhyun and Jeon Somi have established formidable careers as soloists.

Since his solo debut in 2019, Baekhyun proved his might as a strong solo artist, breaking records and writing history in K-Pop. His debut extended play City Lights sold more than half-a-million copies in 2019 and became the best-selling album by a solo artist of the 2010s in South Korea. He then broke his own record with his second EP Delight which became the first album by a solo artist in South Korea to have sold over one million copies in 19 years. The EXO member continued on the success of his solo releases with Bambi. Labeled as the “genius idol”, Baekhyun proved his status as one of the most successful soloists in South Korea with every accolade he receives including the Best Male Artist at the Mnet Asian Music Awards โ€” a recognition he held for three consecutive years.

Following the end of I.O.I’s activities, Jeon Somi furthered her solo activities with variety show appearances, including Sister’s Slam Dunk Season 2 and Idol Drama Operation Team. In 2019, the singer made her highly-anticipated solo debut with “Birthday” which peaked at the 5th spot on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart. The following year, she released “What Are You Waiting For?” which earned her her first music show win thru Mnet’s M Countdown. Jeon Somi continued her success as a solo artist with the release of “Dumb Dumb” which peaked at numbers eight and nine on Gaon Digital Chart and the Billboard Korea K-Pop 100. The same year, she came out with her first studio album, XOXO, debuting at number six on the Gaon Album Chart and selling 55,223 copies in the month of November. The lead single, “XOXO”, also marked her first Billboard Global 200 appearance.

Celebrating A Decade and More of Laughter with RUNNING MAN

RUNNING MAN in Manila was a dream that finally became a reality!

RUNNING MAN: A DECADE OF LAUGHTER 2023 IN MANILA was a realization of a decade-long dream for many fans of the long-running South Korean variety show. For the first time since the show’s birth in 2010, the cast of Running Man met their beloved Runners in the Philippines โ€” unlocking new core memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Thousands of fans gathered last April 1 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena with excitement, a tinge of nervousness, and an effort to let the feeling finally sink in that โ€” after three years since the initial event announcement and after delays brought by the CoViD-19 pandemic โ€” it is happening. When the lights dimmed to signal the start of the show, thunderous cheers enveloped the arena which grew louder as Yoo Jae Suk sang his way on stage to the tune of BtoB’s “Missing You”, waving and bowing to everyone. One after the other, the other members entered the stage to continue the serenade.

Yoo Jae Suk, Jee Suk Jin, Kim Jong Kook, HaHa, Song Ji Hyo, Yang Se Chan, and Jeon So Min looked on tenderly with grateful smiles on their faces as they waved and bowed to the fans who reciprocated the gestures with cheers and excited waves. The night’s hosts Ryan Bang and Kring Kim initiated the official welcome to the fan meeting event and gave the members the chance to say their personal greetings to their Runners.

Their greetings are filled with expressions of gratitude and admiration as well as joy at witnessing the fan meeting come to fruition. And in a typical Philippine concert/event crowd flair, the crowd made sure that their favorite stars knew how happy they were with cheers ringing out loudly and proudly.

    Running Man
South Korea’s Nation MC, Yoo Jae Suk, bows to the Philippine Runners as he takes the stage during the opening.

The fan event highlighted the close bond between the members that developed over the many years they have spent together. Running Man will mark its 13th anniversary in July of this year after premiering on July 11, 2010. The cast members maintained a humble and appreciative attitude despite the show’s enormous popularity and success, as evidenced by their interactions with the audience and the seemingly unending “thank yous” they give with each opportunity they have.

The fan meeting also allowed Filipino fans to witness firsthand how the cast play games. Yoo Jae Suk, Jee Suk Jin, Kim Jong Kook, HaHa, Song Ji Hyo, Yang Se Chan, and Jeon So Min took on the challengesโ€” the relay game and the K-Pop dance quizโ€” with Runners. Kim Jong Kook and his partner triumphantly overcame the relay game in 23 seconds. The victory gifted Kim Jong Kook’s partner with signed personal items of the members. Meanwhile, the K-Pop dance quiz divided the members into two teams and an intense dance quiz ensued with both teams earning two points. As a prize, the Runners took Polaroid photos with the members.

But the thrill never subsided, and the treats kept coming with performances from the Running Man ensemble. With the 2017 song “Artist” by Zico, Yang Se Chan opened the performances. Afterwards, to everyone’s amazement, Ji Suk Jin performed “Ikaw” by Yeng Constantino. In response to the wonderful present, Filipino Runners sang along to Big-Nosed hyungnim. With her rendition of the boy band’s 2015 hit song “My Home,” Jeon So Min, who has acknowledged being a fan of 2PM, made every Hottest proud.

The fan meeting also welcomed a special appearance from Yoo San Seul (Yoo Jae Suk’s trot singer alter ego) who gave a hyped stage of “Redevelopment of Love”. The hype continued to flourish as HaHa took the stage with M. Tyson for a mash-up of RGP’s songs, such as “Don’t Laugh” and “DANG DIGGI BANG”. Song Ji Hyo then gave the most adorable performance of Brave Girls’ hit song “Rollin’”. Concluding the individual stages, Kim Jong Kook serenaded Manila with Adele’s “Easy On Me” and his 2004 song from his Evolution album, “One Man”.

Song Ji Hyo and Jeon So Min returned on stage with IVE’s “Love Dive”, which was then followed by a sentimental stage of “Raise Your Voice” by HaHa and Kim Jong Kook. Yoo Jae Suk, Ji Suk Jin, and Jeon So Min took the baton next with “Confession of Your Love”.

The sweetness of the evening persisted with a duet between the show’s youngest members Jeon So Min and Yang Se Chan who reminded everyone at the venue of the sweetness of first love with their rendition of Reply 1997‘s original soundtrack “All for You”. The duet stages continued with Ji Suk Jin and Song Ji Hyo’s “Don’t Give”, originally performed by Loco and Mamamoo’s Hwasa. Closing the performances, Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Jong Kook, HaHa, and Yang Se Chan let out their hip-hop sides as they danced and rapped to “New Thing”, Zico’s viral song from Street Man Fighter.

The members then took a moment to deliver their heartfelt messages to Filipino Runners, expressing their joy to have had the chance to meet Filipino Runners and promising to come back. And gratitude goes both ways. Filipino Runners prepared a special video message to the people who comforted them and made them happy even in the most difficult of times. It was an emotional and beautiful moment shared by everyone at the arena.

WE WAITED FOR SO LONG, BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. BECAUSE NOW WE CAN TELL YOU, THAT APART FROM A DECADE OF LAUGHTER, YOU’VE GIVEN US SO MUCH MORE. WE WILL KEEP ON RUNNING WITH YOU. MARAMING SALAMAT, RUNNING MAN.

    FILIPINO RUNNERS

Before officially saying their goodbyes, the members performed Kim Jong Kook’s “Loveable”, Running Man theme song “I Like It”, RGP’s “Busan Vacance”, and Yoo San Seul’s “Redevelopment of Love”.

RUNNING MAN: A DECADE OF LAUGHTER 2023 IN MANILA ended with heartfelt gratitude and promises of meeting again. It was truly a realization of a dream, a memory that will be treasured for a lifetime, a story that will be written filled with moments of happiness and appreciation, and a promise to keep running together.

At twenty years of age and now on the cusp of releasing his debut album 4TH WALL via   RCA (ROW) & Sony Music (Australia), Ruelโ€™s discovery of self-assurance is perfectly timed.

Executivelyย Producedย byย longtimecollaboratorย MPhazesย (Khalid,Noahย Cyrus,ย Remiย Wolf),ย 4THย WALLย wasย originallyย headingย downย aย Pop/R&Bย lane,ย however,ย theย pandemicย acted as a major personal and professional conduit for Ruel.

His matured identity galvanizedย theย decisionย toย forgeย hisย ownย creativeย directive,ย andย playedย aย vitalย partย inย expandingย hisย musicalย horizons.

Ruel notes โ€œIt took way longer than anticipated to get this record right. I spent the last 3  years writing it and wound up with over 100 songs. I rewrote half of them and re- recorded most of themโ€ฆ Itโ€™s been the biggest journey making this recordโ€ฆโ€.

These revelations are strikingly obvious in the 4TH WALL singles that Ruel has treated his audience to, including the dancefloor anthem GROWING UP IS ____, dream-like LET THE GRASS GROW, the poignant social and personal observations of YOU AGAINST YOURSELF, and most recently, the beautifully emotive ballad MUST BE NICE.

Since making his debut in 2017 at the age of 14, Ruel has fast become one of his generationโ€™s most influential artists. Sitting with over 2 billion global streams, 1.2 million  Instagram followers, and five Platinum records to his name, Ruel is both a seasoned global superstar and a record-breaking musician for tomorrowโ€™s generation.

Add to this stellar collection of bucket list achievements (that most could only dream of), Ruel is also the youngest artist ever to win Breakthrough Artist at the ARIA Awards and the youngest artist to sell out the Sydney Opera Houseโ€ฆ twice. Not surprisingly, Ruel has caught the attention of some of the industryโ€™s most respected individualโ€™s, including icon Elton John and musical tastemaker Zane Lowe both championing his career developments.

Along with three sold-out world tours, Ruel has shared stages with Khalid, Shawn    Mendes, played Tyler, the Creatorโ€™s Camp Flog Gnaw festival, and released collaborations with Denzel Curry, JVKE, Omar Apollo and Cosmoโ€™s Midnight.

Now three EPs deep โ€“ READY, FREE TIME and BRIGHT LIGHTS, RED EYES, the time is well and truly nigh for 4TH WALL to take flight. With an impressive collection of Platinum and Double Platinum hits including YOUNGER, DAZED & CONFUSED, PAINKILLER, REAL THING and FACE TO FACE, the release of 4TH WALL will further solidify his position as one of Australiaโ€™s most successful artists.

Itโ€™s safe to say that in just a few short years, Ruel has a biography that is nothing short of astonishing, and the international press tends to agree. Ruel has now graced the high- end pages of editorials such as Nylon, Vogue and GQ, and has received written praise from influential outlets including NME, The Face, famed celebrity and fine art photographer Rankinโ€™s HUNGER TV and Coup De Main.

As his fans hold their collective breath in anticipation for a global tour announcement, Ruel is ready to reignite his position as one of the worldโ€™s most exciting artists. โ€œOkay, time to bring home my sound. I canโ€™t waitโ€ โ€“ Ruel

Dreamย Theater Day on May 4, 2023ย

Dream Theater fans in the Philippines, “May the Fourth” be with you, as the progressive metal band Dream Theater is in for a treat this 2023.

Dream Theatercomprised of James LaBrie, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, John Myung, and Mike Mangini, were in the middle of a sold-out world tour in support of their last release, Distance Over Time, and the 20th anniversary of Scenes From A Memory when a global pandemic brought the world to a stop. The musicians found themselves at home with LaBrie in Canada and the rest of the group in the States. As fate would have it, theyโ€™d just finished construction on DTHQ (Dream Theater Headquarters), a combination live recording studio, rehearsal space, control room, equipment storage facility, and creative hive. With LaBrie in Canada, he initially wrote with the band via Zoom on a monitor in DTHQ. In March 2021, he flew down to New York, quarantined himself, and recorded his vocals face-to-face with Petrucci. The album, A View From The Top Of The World, ultimately threaded together lean and uncompromising hooks with tried-and-true technical proficiency.

“We just love to play our instruments,” observes Petrucci. “That never goes away. I love to be creative, write, and exercise that part of my mind. Weโ€™ve been able to do this for a long time, and we donโ€™t take it for granted. Whenever we get together, we know we canโ€™t disappoint ourselves or our fans, so we manage to try even harder.”

“We approach every album like itโ€™s our first,” adds LaBrie. “Itโ€™s been such a great ride, but weโ€™re not going to stop.”

“My takeaway from Manila, for the first time, is that “it was incredible” and I reallyย donโ€™tย know how to describe it better than we have. Weย didnโ€™tย know what to expect; we did get there, and finally,ย weโ€™reย doing the concert.ย It was an amazing experience; the fans were absolutely fantastic, and we could tell that they were having an amazing time and a great experience.ย Go, the first time there was phenomenal, andย thatโ€™sย whyย weโ€™reย coming back. Absolutely!” answered Labrie when asked about their takeaway from their first concert in the Philippines.ย
