Pinoy KPop fans waited for ages just to have the sextet of Eunha, Yerin, SinB, Sowon, Yuju, Kim Ye-won perform in a solo concert for the very first time in Manila, and they were treated to the pageantry of GFriend’s seasons. What makes group’s performance special was how the fans were able to experience their idols not only through their electrifying musical numbers, but also through the video packages that give a glimpse of each member’s unique character and personality.

The GoodVybes Fest last February 20 kicked the 2016 concert season into high gear with high profile acts and their own brand of music festival experience.
Indie pop veterans Stars fired up the primetime slot with an emotionally-charged performance reminiscent of the Canadian band’s first foray with Filipino crowds three years ago. They raised the band high with danceable tunes such as “Hold On When You Get Love and Let Go When You Give It” and laid them down with songs like “Your Ex Lover’s Dead”.

Rebelution fired up Manila’s summer concert season with sweltering sounds of roots reggae last April 11 at the SM North EDSA Skydome. It was everything one could expect from a reggae gig: everyone’s senses were filled and lit up with the spirit of Rebelution’s songs such as “Safe and Sound”, “More Love”, “So High,” and “Bright Side of Life”.
Fans were in for a treat with a steady energy throughout the set, culminating to a soulful delivery of “Feeling Alright” in the encore. There’s nothing like a great reggae gig to put everyone in the mood for some more fun in the sun!

Scott Hansen’s musical project and pseudonym, Tycho, has evolved over the years since its inception. His project is a creative play that pulls artists and aficionados alike into a dreamy state. Having first entered the creative sphere through his graphic design alias, ISO50, he later on discovered unchartered territories when he began experimenting with musical production. Four albums under his belt, and now touring with three band mates—Zac Brown, Rory O’Connor and Joe Davancens—Tycho finally landed in the sunny shores of Manila for an artistic feast.
Similarobjects was a fitting opening act for Tycho. His mixes were in line with the musical theme of the show—a reflective electronic state. The mood was set with dim lighting against a foggy stage. A technical glitch did not faze Jorge of Similar Objects. He replaced the silence by welcoming the attendees to the Awake tour, and explaining that his software had left him hanging. During this short pause, shouts of appreciation echoed around the Solaire Theater. A quick wait and Similar Objects was back in the zone performing original mixes.
