How far would you go to care for a loved one while hoping for a life-changing inheritance? The Thai drama How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies examines this tender plot and streams on Netflix across Southeast Asia starting September 12. It will be available in more countries later this year.
The film has already made waves across Southeast Asia, becoming the highest-grossing Thai film to date in numerous countries, including Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia and Myanmar.
Driven by the desire for a multimillion-dollar inheritance, M (Putthipong “Billkin” Assaratanakul) puts aside his dreams as a hopeful game caster to care for his terminally ill grandmother (Usha Seamkhum). But winning Grandma’s favor is no easy feat, as she proves to be demanding and exceedingly difficult to please. To make things more complicated, M is not the only one vying for the fortune. He finds himself in a competition, going to great lengths to become the apple of Grandma’s eye before time runs out.
Produced by GDH 559, How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies was written by Thodsapon Thiptinnakorn, who drew inspiration from personal experiences, and Pat Boonnitipat (Bad Genius).
This film marks Pat’s debut as a feature film director and Billkin and Usha’s first leading roles in a movie. The cast also includes Sanya Kunakorn, Sarinrat Thomas, Pongsatorn Jongwilas, Duangporn Oapirat, Himawari Tajiri, and Tontawan Tantivejakul.
How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies streams starting September 12, only on Netflix.
Netflix has just unveiled a trailer for its highly anticipated Filipino film “Lolo and the Kid,” featuring the talented Joel Torre and the rising star Euwenn Mikael Aleta from “Firefly.”
A video captures the duo swiftly leaving a residence, likely after committing a theft, as other footage reveals them in different attire during the night, carrying away numerous bundles of items. Beyond the usual routines, the characters seem to relish their moments of togetherness, whether it’s visiting an amusement park, spending time at the beach, or exploring thrift stores.
Joel’s character, as the grandfather, appears to be unable to fulfill this responsibility. Joel’s character immerses himself in a captivating tale, while a clip shows Kid encountering an unfortunate accident. This leads to a series of clips showcasing the duo enjoying each other’s company, highlighted by a heartwarming rendition of Kenny Rogers’ “Through the Years.”
The trailer revealed brief appearances from Markki Stroem, Meryll Soriano, Joem Bascon, Shaina Magdayao, and Alfred Vargas, along with a special participation from JK Labajo.
The two main characters share their feelings for each other on a bus ride, and the title card appears as they strike a pose with sunglasses in Manila, accompanied by the song “Through the Years” playing in the background. The film is helmed by Benedict Mique. “Lolo and the Kid” will be available to stream on Netflix worldwide starting August 7.
Netflix’s “Bridgerton” will delve into the romantic journey of Benedict Bridgerton, a perennial bachelor played by Luke Thompson. Having been less prominent in recent seasons, Benedict is poised to emerge as the next Bridgerton sibling to find their soulmate. The season continues with Benedict’s search for a mysterious woman he encounters at a masquerade ball. Little does he know, she is actually Sophie Beckett, a woman from a humble background.
Netflix has officially confirmed that Benedict’s love interest remains unchanged, and it is the same woman. Get ready for an exciting new season of “Bridgerton”! Season 4, as it will reveal the transition of Benedict’s to the lead role, which is a significant development considering his previous three seasons on “Bridgerton,” where he played a supporting character.
Following the exciting news of Bridgerton’s Season 4 renewal, fans have been eagerly anticipating the announcement. At this time, we have no further details to share on the start of production or returning, other castmates and premiere date are yet to be disclosed, as of press time. The addition of new characters and cast members for Season 2 will surely bring fresh energy and perspectives to the series. It is crucial for the adaptation to stay true to the essence of the original characters while offering a unique take on them. Fans are always eager to see their favorite characters interpreted in new ways by talented actors.
The casting process for a show like “One Piece” must be a rigorous one, as the characters are so iconic and beloved by fans. The actors chosen to portray these characters need to not only resemble them physically but also capture their essence and personalities. A strong cast can elevate the source material and bring a new dimension to the live-action adaptation.
As more details are revealed about the new characters and cast members for Season 2 of the “One Piece” live-action series, fans will undoubtedly have mixed reactions. Some may be excited to see their favorite characters come to life, while others may have reservations about the casting choices. It’s important for fans to keep an open mind and give the new cast a chance to make their mark on the series.
It has long been known that One Piece Season 2 will continue the Arabasta Saga. These latest casting announcements virtually guarantee that the forthcoming season will likewise focus on two more compact manga arcs: Reverse Mountain and Little Garden.
Netflix hasn’t officially disclosed a lot about the eagerly awaited second season, aside from casting announcements. Not long after the debut of the live-action version, in September 2023, the show received a second season renewal. Season 2 is supposedly aiming for a 2025 premiere date.

Wu Kang-ren plays a tough prosecutor on the hunt for a serial killer who knows how to use the media to his advantage. Producers Hank Tseng and Phil Tang, who have won multiple awards, are at the helm of this exciting show. According to Tseng, Copycat Killer depicts a story of how desires, when out of control, can cause evil to go viral in a city,” said Tseng. “We hope that the confluence and fluidity of good and evil in the series will be able to provide healing to our viewers in this world of madness, where a lot more can be done to help and support each other.”

While most crime stories focus on details of the cases, Copycat Killer casts a wider net. “We hope to portray more facets of each character and their thoughts and reflections within an intriguing narrative,” explained co-director Henri Chang, who earned six Golden Bell nominations for Hate the Sin, Love the Sinner. “While the story begins with ‘evil’ as we know it, there is a lot more to reflect on and take away from the series.”
