Philippines’ Pop Ballad King, Nonoy Zuñiga, is set to celebrate his 50th anniversary as a professional singer with a grand concert titled Beyond Gold: Songs of a Lifetime on September 5 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. Joining him on this golden milestone are special guests Kuh Ledesma, Rey Valera, Marco Sison, and Lani Misalucha, along with special participation from Andrea Gutierrez, Isha Ponti, and Raymond Gorospe.
At a press conference held on Thursday, August 7, Zuñiga shared his excitement over the upcoming show, which he promises will take audiences on a nostalgic trip through the decades. “I’ll be doing the song for the disabled, which I don’t normally sing,” he said, referring to “Ako Ay Ikaw Rin”, the title track from his debut album. The song not only catapulted him to fame but also earned him a double platinum status and won Album of the Year at both the Awit Awards and Cecille Awards.
When asked how the concept came together, Zuñiga explained that he had long planned to mark this personal milestone with something special. Though Beyond Gold is technically a solo concert, he invited long-time industry friends to help showcase the many eras of his storied career. Concert director Calvin Neria echoed this sentiment, saying, “The Beyond Gold: Songs of a Lifetime concert is a collaboration with Mr. Zuñiga. We’re excited to show all sides of him—from his days as a folk singer to the OPM icon he is now. We promise you a very classy and nostalgic show.”
The press event also featured live performances by Zuñiga and two of his opening acts, Ponti and Gutierrez, giving attendees a glimpse of what’s to come.
Spanning five decades in a constantly evolving Original Pilipino Music (OPM) scene, Zuñiga’s enduring presence is a feat in itself. He reflected on how the industry has changed, particularly the shift away from physical albums. “I wish fans still had the choice to stream and also buy physical albums,” he shared. Nonetheless, he expressed gratitude upon learning that he currently has nearly 300,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, with several of his songs enjoying multi-million streams, proof that his music continues to resonate with audiences across generations.
Looking to the future, Zuñiga expressed a desire to collaborate with today’s top OPM artists such as Erik Santos, Daryl Ong, Morissette Amon, and KZ Tandingan, a testament to his openness to bridging classic and contemporary sounds.
As the final lineup continues to take shape, Zuñiga also revealed one more dream: a duet with the Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
Nonoy Zuñiga, along with his special guests, is looking forward to performing for you at the Newport Performing Arts Theater on September 5. Tickets are still available at TicketWorld online and outlets.
XYVRL has officially released her latest single “HOTNCOLD” on June 27, 2025. This marks her second release of the year, following the success of her previous track, “LILAGIRL.”
“HOTNCOLD” is a chill, pop, soul, and RnB track that talks about the struggles of an unfair relationship. The song addresses the feelings of giving your all to a partner who does not reciprocate, and XYVRL’s lyrics convey this sentiment clearly: “You don’t deserve me. Binigay ko sa’yo ang lahat when you were thirsty. I was there for you pero baby wala ka for me. So tell me sino ba ang totoo sa atin?”
The title “HOTNCOLD” effectively captures the conflicting emotions of warmth and closeness with your partner, while still having a cold, distant divide in the relationship. While the song has a laidback and easy-to-listen-to vibe, the lyrics carry a heavier message that encourages listeners to immerse themselves in the deeper meaning behind the music. “Mainit, mainit, mainit, mainit, pag kay katabi. Pero kahit magkadikit ay laging malamig ang ating gabi.”
In a surprise appearance, XYVRL performed “HOTNCOLD” at the “Find Your Kislap” single launch event of fellow Universal Records artist last June 26 at 225 Bar in Quezon City. Fans who witnessed XYVRL’s performance of the song didn’t have to wait too long to hear the official track since since it was released the next day. “HOTNCOLD” is now available on all major streaming platforms, with an interesting lyric video on the YouTube account of Universal Records.

On August 2, 2025, Rocky held his first-ever fan concert in Manila titled FILL IN THE BLANK: ROCKY’S 1ST FAN CON IN MANILA 2025, presented by Wish Us Luck.
Held at 6 PM inside the SM Skydome, the event marked a special milestone in his solo journey and brought together his official fans, HAMO, along with longtime AROHAs who continue to support him.
A Setlist Full of Heart and Surprises
Rocky opened the evening with a carefully curated selection of his most personal tracks, setting an intimate tone right from the start. “Fine Me,” “With You,” and the emotional centerpiece “Masterpiece” showcased not only his vocal depth but his connection with the crowd. Before continuing, he shared the meaning behind the latter: “Masterpiece means all of you, because you are all masterpieces.” It was a simple line, but it lingered in the air like a promise.
Then, with little warning, he flipped the mood. The stage lit up as Rocky launched into a fierce and unexpected cover of 2NE1’s “I Am the Best.” This was Rocky in full performer mode, proving that his artistry spans tenderness and fire alike.
But it was his efforts to bridge cultures that truly endeared him to the audience. In between songs, Rocky delighted fans by speaking in Filipino. A soft “Mahal kita,” followed by the admission that he remembered the phrase from nine years ago, drew warm cheers. He gamely rapped the tongue-twister “Kinagagalak kitang makilala,” and without missing a beat, added a cheeky “Pogi all night!” as the term came directly from the fans who chanted it when they had the chance.
The night also had its charmingly odd detours, like a TMI segment where Rocky confessed his awe at how comfortable his hotel sofa was. It was random, it was sincere, and it was exactly the kind of moment that made the event feel more like a shared evening between friends than a scripted show.
And then came the moment that would stay with many for a long time. Rocky stepped down from the stage and walked directly toward the crowd. The atmosphere shifted, no longer just an artist performing for his fans, but a person reaching out to the ones who stood by him. It was a connection in its most sincere form.
“I’m very grateful to all the fans who came and gave their time to me,” he said later with quiet sincerity. He also revealed his love for Jollibee, earning instant approval from the Filipino crowd. And with heartfelt conviction, he promised, “I’ll come back.”
Love in Motion, Luck in the Air
Just when the night seemed to have given all it could, the fans offered a classic K-pop fandom gesture. At once, banners were raised across the Skydome, each one bearing the words:
“The moment I am with you, our hearts are the same, back then, and now, HAMO <3 ROCKY will be together FOREVER.”
The visual was breathtaking. From the stage, Rocky looked out onto a sea of clovers, a field of luck created by the very people he came to thank. He stood still, clearly moved. “I’m not sure what to say,” he said quietly. “To prepare this much for me, I’m really touched.”
At one point in the night, Rocky gave fans an unexpected treat during a performance of “ON MY MIND.” With a playful grin, he slipped in a lyric change that made the crowd erupt: “Manila on my mind.”
It was quick, lighthearted, and perfectly timed. A small moment, but one that showed Rocky’s knack for keeping the energy up and the connection with fans genuine.
Until We Fill the Blank Again
As the night reached its conclusion, Rocky addressed the crowd with clarity rather than theatrics. “Next time, I’ll be back. A cooler version of myself.” It was not framed as a farewell, but as a statement of progress. Growth, for him, is not just expected. It is a requirement.
Then came the final line that anchored the entire event.
“Thank you all for filling that blank.”
What began as a title became a challenge, and ultimately, a resolution. Fill in the Blank was not just about Rocky presenting who he is. It was about allowing space for fans to define their place in that narrative. The blank was never empty. It was waiting. And for one night in Manila, it was completed with precision.

Singer-songwriter Zion Aguirre has returned with a powerful and emotional music video for his single “Ayoko Na,” released under Tarsier Records. The video, which premiered on July 29, 2025, on Tarsier Records’ YouTube channel, features “PBB Otso” housemate Argel Saycon and “PBB Gen 11” housemate Jas Dudley-Scales. It brings to life the song’s poignant narrative about the exhaustion and pain of unrequited or unspoken love.
The music video portrays Argel and Jas as best friends who are secretly in love with each other but remain unaware of their mutual feelings. This premise amplifies the heart-wrenching emotions embedded in the song, capturing the weariness of loving someone who causes pain, whether intentionally or not.
The storyline resonates with the song’s theme of wanting to give up due to emotional fatigue, making it a relatable and moving visual for many viewers.
“Right now mas nagiging straightforward na po yung lyrics sa mga bawat kantang sinusulat ko. Nasa era na ako na kung anong gusto long sabihin sa song, I say it and write it directly.“
“Ayoko Na” marks Zion Aguirre’s comeback after a two-year hiatus, with the single originally released on March 28, 2025. Zion has shared that the song is deeply personal, reflecting the emotions he experienced while abroad during his break. “Lahat ng emotions ko beforehand dito ko nailagay kasi kung papakinggan nyo yung song, maririnig nyo mismo kung gaano na siya kapagod in life, parang ayoko na!” he explained. While the song touches on general feelings of exhaustion, its core revolves around the complexities of love.
PC: What perspective you can bring to the Philippine music industry?
“I think I have my own personality na sobrang different from everyone else. Isang genre kami pero I think iba iba yung tunog at boses namin and yun ang magiging space ko sa music industry. I would like to claim it, I am Zion Aguirre.”
The music video has been praised for its emotional depth and the chemistry between Argel and Jas, whose performances enhance the storytelling. Fans can watch the full video on Tarsier Records’ YouTube channel and stream the single on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. For more updates, follow Tarsier Records and ABS-CBN Music on social media platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, and TikTok.
Zion Aguirre continues to solidify his place in the music scene with “Ayoko Na,” a track that combines raw emotion with a compelling visual narrative, leaving listeners and viewers alike moved by its authenticity.
People were excited at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City on the night of August 2, 2025. It was an exciting time in the air as Filipino fans flooded the venue for Ju Ji Hoon’s first-ever fan meetup in Manila. Most of them were holding unique photocards and fan-made banners. This was part of his 2025 Asia tour called “JUNIVERSE.” Dedicated fans dressed in their best K-drama-inspired outfits were ready to meet the man who had stolen their hearts as Crown Prince Lee Shin in Princess Hours almost 20 years ago.
At 6 p.m., the lights went down, and as Ju Ji Hoon walked on stage, the crowd went wild. His towering physique and distinctive charisma took over the room right away. He wore a slick, well-fitted Balmain Love Letter Crystal Piping Wool Grain de Poudre 1-Button Jacket. He opened his fan meet serenading the crowd with “Relieved” by Lee Juck. He smiled warmly as he greeted the throng in English with a hint of his deep, soothing voice: “Hello, Manila!” I’m very glad to finally meet you all! Fans of various ages, including those who had been fans for years and others who had just seen him in Kingdom and The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, yelled with joy, while others took pictures to remember the occasion.
The JUNIVERSE event was more than just a fan meet; it was a look back at Ju Ji Hoon’s career and charm. The night started with a heartfelt video montage that showed clips from his most famous roles, like the stoic but romantic prince in “Princess Hours,” the fierce Crown Prince of Joseon fighting zombies in “Kingdom,” and the intense Dr. Baek Kang Hyuk in “The Trauma Code,” for which he had just won Best Actor at the 2025 Baeksang Arts Awards. Fans screamed the most at the Princess Hours moments, which brought back memories for those who had fallen in love with him as their “first K-drama prince.” On segment 2 Ju Ji Hoon went back to surprise his fans as he walked to them donned in a youthful Versace Coral Theatre Cotton Shirt in white and blue. The price tag? Nearly PHP60,000. He made sure to get close to his fans who waited for him in Manila for almost 20 years while “Perhaps Love,“ the OST that made us fall in love with Goong 19 years ago, was in the background.
Ju Ji Hoon, known for his exceptional fan service, maintained the excitement. He told funny things from behind the scenes, including how he was too afraid to see some of Kingdom’s zombie sequences. He said with a teasing smile, “I’m not as brave as my characters.” The Q&A was the best part, as fans asked about his favorite moments and what it was like to shoot The Trauma Code, which filled the room with cheers.
People loved the participatory parts of the event. Lucky raffle winners all around Asia, Like Thailand, Japan and Indonesia held autographed posters and Polaroids. When Ju Ji Hoon waved to supporters and threw a few finger hearts, the audience erupted in excitement. You could see how much he cared about them. He also amazed everyone by singing his self-confessed favorite song, 참 예뻐요 (Cham Yeppeoyo) by Lee Kyu-hyung. His voice was gentle yet steady, making the event seem private even though the theater was full.
As the night came to an end, Ju Ji Hoon offered a special message that had been filmed earlier and broadcast on the big screen: “Filipino fans, you’ve waited so long, and I’m so grateful for your love.” Let’s build more memories with each other. Fans, some of whom were crying, clapped and yelled his name, not wanting the night to finish. The JUNIVERSE fan meetup was more than simply an event; it was a celebration of Ju Ji Hoon’s rise from a model in 2003 to a worldwide sensation and proof of the strong link between him and his Filipino followers. As the throng streamed out into the Manila night, social media lit up with postings, images, and videos, assuring the JUNIVERSE enchantment would endure long beyond August 2.
