Concert Challenge #10: How to stand out at a show

A lot of people want to catch the artist’s attention if only for a few minutes (or seconds). With thousands of people flocking to a concert it is hard to achieve this. There are many things that a concertgoer does in order to stand out at a show: wear colorful and striking outfits or costumes, eye-catching headpieces, wave glow sticks or posters, and even throw little souvenirs on stage.

There’s a new way to stand out and be unique with LED wristbands. Naughty Ninja brings you this relatively new technology that lights up with each motion. Another bonus to this must-have item is that there is no need to hold it everywhere you go since it is hanging around your wrist. These motion sensor LED wristbands come in six colors: red, yellow, blue, green, white and pink.

For only Php150, this accessory can be yours. Plus get a chance to win Patron Seats to watch Jason Mraz Live in Manila on May 14, just purchase a minimum of P300.00 worth of Concert LED Wristbands and you will have one (1) electronic raffle entry. Promo until April 27 only!

  • Close Up Summer Solstice Philippines’ Largest Dance Music Festival

Close Up Summer Solstice Philippines’ Largest Dance Music Festival

Surging to the forefront of mainstream tastes, Electronic Dance Music, better known as EDM, has amassed an infectious movement that has rapidly infiltrated the Philippines.

Last year David Guetta and Alesso rocked the MOA Arena, earlier this year Swedish House Mafia made a stop in the Philippines for their One Last Tour tour, and next month Avicii will make his second visit to the metro. Other DJs that have stopped over include Porter Robinson, R3hab, Dirty South, Dash Berlin, Ferry Corsten, and Alesso among others.

This April 27th, however, will see the largest EDM dance party that has ever rocked the country—because what’s better than partying with one international DJ? Seven.

AfroJack, Apster, Alex Gaudino, Cedric Gervais, Cobra Starship, Dev, the JumpSmokers, Sandwich, SpongeCola and UrbanDub will be summoning all music lovers, partygoers, adventure seekers, to the CloseUp Summer Solstice Music Festival for twelve hours of music, dance and fun.

From sunset to sunrise, the CloseUp Summer Solstice is 12-hours of non-stop music (4PM to 4AM) featuring the perfect mix of local flavor, mainstream hits, party-rocking beats, and remixes that will blow your mind—making it the must-go dance party of the summer.

Know more about the foreign artists who will perform at the Close Up Summer Solstice 2013 on April 27 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.

LIFEHOUSE AT ITS CREATIVE PEAK, DELIVERS NEW ALBUM “ALMERIA”

Million-selling recording and live act Lifehouse has gotten back to its roots mindset-wise which significantly helped produced its latest album touted by both band insiders and tough crack critics as their “most daring and provocative release to date.”

“Almeria,” the name of the group’s sixth album, was crafted without the distractions usually brought by in-between touring and personal struggles that cuff the workflow of successful talents. The band worked with producers and co-writers Jude Cole and Jacob Kasher and A-list performers Peter Frampton and Natasha Bedingfield.

“It’s almost like we were reverting back to being teenagers in our parents’ garages, which felt really good,” frontman Jason Wade is quoted as saying. “We thought we were making this cool, 70s kind. We knew we had to shake things up creatively and go back to the drawing board, try something new.”

Bloc Party Live in Manila: A Rocking Miracle

    bloc-party-live-in-manila

We were hoping for a miracle, or something very close to it. Bloc Party made one happen in Manila.

Eight years after the release of their iconic debut album, Silent Alarm, Bloc Party finally made their first stop in Manila to give their Filipino fans a rocking musical experience that would be difficult to top. Before the Southeast Asia leg of their tour, Japan was the only Asian country the band had frequented over the years. Thank the heavens and all the goodness in the universe for their decision to put Manila in their itinerary for their world tour this year, because for the thousands of their hardcore fans who were in that hall, the experience really was one hell of a miracle.

For an hour and a half, the Hall D of World Trade Center echoed out the united roars and shrieks of the thousands of hardcore fans and music enthusiasts. Kele Okereke, Matt Tong, Russell Lissack and Gordon Moakes put out a performance that was beyond enthralling and so powerfully moving. Both the VIP and Gold area were bursting with crowds of people who were frenetically awaiting the band’s performance. (more…)
