SEVENTEEN Reunites with Carats in Back-to-Back “Be The Sun” in Manila Concerts

The Mall of Asia Arena bloomed beautifully in the colors of rose quartz and serenity as SEVENTEEN and their Filipino Carats met again to light up the Philippine concert stage!

South Korean boy group SEVENTEEN proved its relentless influence and power with back-to-back sold-out SEVENTEEN World Tour – BE THE SUN in Manila last October 8 and 9 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The concerts signified the return of S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino to the Philippine concert stage after more than two years since their last solo concert in the country. And for leader S.Coups, the BE THE SUN in Manila shows were more special as they marked his reunion with his Filipino fans after more than four years after missing out on the last concert due to health reasons.

With lightsticks on hand and cheers roaring loud and proud for their favorite boys, Carats welcomed them back to the local concert stage with superb enthusiasm as SEVENTEEN kicked off the highly anticipated two-day concerts last October 8 with a parade of sizzling hot and energetic performances of their hits “HOT”, “March”, and “HIT”.

    SEVENTEEN right here

Say the Name, SEVENTEEN! Hello, we are SEVENTEEN!” —and after more than two years, the boy group, led by S.Coups, greeted their Filipino fans with their signature greeting and expressed their joy in coming back to the country after a long time. The members cutely tried their best to deliver their messages in Filipino, saying “na-miss namin kayo“, “mahal namin kayo“, and more.

Joshua also added, “It’s been a long time since the last time we came here. We’re finally back and we are really, really excited. We’re back with our tour, Be the Sun. We really wanted to show you guys a good performance today and just like the title states, “be the sun”, we want to be your light. So let’s have fun tonight, guys!”

Like in their previous concert tours, the members prepared a chant and a gesture for the world tour — “SEVENTEEN Carat, be the sun!” And with that cue, the boys wasted no time in captivating their audience by performing “Rock with You”.

Amplifying Be The Sun in Manila concerts with Unit Performances

The members of SEVENTEEN firmly displayed their immense talents and abilities with spectacular performances, never allowing the enthusiasm in the room to die down. Kicking off the unit performances, Joshua and Vernon commanded the stage with their duet of “2-1”.

The performance team impressed with the confident and attractive stages of “Moonwalker” and “Wave”, while the vocal team serenaded the crowd with their soothing voices in “Come to Me” and “Imperfect Love”. “Manila, we missed you, guys so much. You guys can sing along to the song, right?” Joshua said. And with a resounding yes and the prettiest ocean of Carat bongs, Filipino Carats beautifully serenaded SEVENTEEN with “Imperfect Love”. The hip-hop team then dominated the concert stage with a blistering stage performance of “Gam3 Bo1” and “Back It Up” to close out the unit performances.

Returning to the stage as a complete team, SEVENTEEN performed a relay of their greatest hits, “Mansae” featuring Vernon’s rendition of Beyonceฬ’s “Single Ladies”, a fun stage of “Left & Right” from their 2020 extended play Heng:garรฆ, and the ever-iconic “Aju Nice” that got everyone jumping up and down.

    Coming into SEVENTEEN’s World

After the playful stages, S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino unleashed their charismatic sides once more, delivering spectacular performances of “Shadow” and “Crush”, from their albums Face the Sun and Attacca, respectively.

With never-ending surprises and treats for their Carats, the boys donned impromptu mini-performances mid-ment. Woozi sang a snippet of his solo song “Ruby”, while Seungkwan sang a bit of Harry Styles’ “As It Was”. Wonwoo and Dino hyped the crowd with “Gam3 Bo1” and “Clap”, respectively. The8 also sampled his solo song “Side by Side”, while Hoshi made sure to deliver his tiger agenda with a freestyle “Tiger” song. (Note: Hoshi achieved his horanghae agenda early in the concert as he made Carats do tiger paws with him :D).

The members also repeatedly commended the energy and passion of Filipino Carats. Hoshi expressed his admiration for the unwavering energy of their fans, saying “I like the energy of Manila so much!”. DK echoed this, describing the energy as “crazy” as booming and tireless cheers enveloped the arena from the start until the very end.

With DK’s “SEVENTEEN Carat! Be the Sun”, the boy group made everyone dance and sing along to “_World”, the title track of their latest album, Sector 17.

    SEVENTEEN’s Darl+ing Manila

Waiting for the encore performances also got fun with funny and adorable banners and photos for and of the members that the fans prepared. And everything got more fun as the members emerged from all over the stage for their encore performances, starting with the sweet “Darl+ing”. With hands up in the air, Filipino Carats gamely sang along —never beating the “Because Manila Carats can sing along to any song, right?” allegations.

The sweetest went overloaded with the members’ declarations of “my darling manila”, “Carats are our darling”, and more. The boys also made sure that their Filipino Carats know they are appreciated and loved.

“Because of your energy, I was able to do well. Every time we come here, we get good energy from you. I want to come here as soon as possible again,” Jeonghan said. Other members also reiterated the boy group’s desire to come back to the Philippines for another concert soon. “We will be back as soon as possible. Hopefully, in a stadium,” Joshua said.

S.Coups added, “We will come back really fast.” Meanwhile, Hoshi also said, “Should I come to Manila again? Should we go to a stadium next?”. The8 and DK echoed the other members’ words and asked Carats to be healthy and happy. Woozi chimed in, relaying his message in Filipino, “Magkita tayo ulit. Babalik kami ulit. Mahal ko kayo.”

Always an Aju Nice show with SEVENTEEN

And with all smiles and cheerful energy, SEVENTEEN had fun on stage and with their Carats while singing and dancing to “Our Dawn is Hotter than Day” and “Snap Shoot”. Very special guests in the person of Dino’s father and grandmother made a special appearance during “Snap Shoot”, making the night extra special and giving fans one of the best concert memories. The ever-jolly and super-enthusiastic mother-and-son tandem gave their all in dancing to “Snap Shoot”, earning loud cheers from both SEVENTEEN and Carats.

But a SEVENTEEN concert will never be complete without the ever-iconic and legendary “Aju Nice”. Seemingly tireless from the more than two-hour concert, the boys and Filipino Carats sang loudly and jumped high, capping off the night with an Aju-Nice party like no other.

Jason Momoa transports us into his fantasy realm in the Slumberland trailer.

    ITโ€™S TIME TO DREAM ON!

This holiday season Jason Momoa invites you on an adventure into the world of dreams. “Slumberland”comes to Netflix on November 18.

The new trailer of “Slumberland” has been released on Netflix. We’ll see the land where such a wild and crazy dream has come true.

In Slumberland, Marlow Barkley’s Nemo and Jason Momoa’s Flip go on an extraordinary voyage in a dreamworld. Nemo’s tranquil childhood in the Pacific Northwest is upended when her father, Peter (Kyle Chandler), dies at sea and she moves in with her well-meaning but socially awkward uncle, Phillip (Chris O’Dowd). By day, she struggles with her new school and schedule, but by night, she meets Flip, a rough-around-the-edges bandit who becomes her sidekick and guide thanks to a secret map to Slumberland. Nemo and Flip go on an extraordinary journey through dreams and nightmares, during which Nemo hopes to be reunited with her father.

Slumberland is based on a series of comic strips by Winsor McCay called Little Nemo in Slumberland. These strips were first published at the start of the 20th century. The only big change that the trailer shows so far is that the main character goes from being a little boy to a little girl, which, in a story about childhood dreams and imagination, doesn’t mean much. Along with Barkley and Momoa, the story also stars Kyle Chandler, India de Beaufort, Chris O’Dowd, Humberly Gonzรกlez, and Tonya Cornelisse.

Slumberland is directed by Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire & Mockingjay) and produced by Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, David Ready, and Francis Lawrence. It was written by David Guion and Michael Handelman (Night at the Museum; Secret of the Tomb). Weruche Opia, India De Beaufort, and Humberly Gonzalez are also featured in the movie.

Netflix premieres Slumberland on November 18. You can watch the new trailer below:

  • Gulf Kanawut Enchants in First Fan Meeting in Manila

Gulf Kanawut Enchants in First Fan Meeting in Manila

Phiballs got to spend a memorable night with their favorite model-actor!

Thai model-actor Gulf Kanawut returned the love and support of his Filipino fans by ensuring they get to have a fun night. Though not his first time in Manila, the event on October 2, 2022, at the New Frontier Theater, was the multi-hyphenated actorโ€™s first solo fan meeting in the country. It may have taken him three years to meet his beloved Phiballs, but for fans, it was worth the wait.

    Press Conference Takeaways

Prior to the fan meeting, Gulf indulged queries from the media through a press conference held earlier in the day. The singer was relaxed and all smiles as he answered questions ranging from the mundane to the serious ones.

Gulf revealed that he first came to Manila in 2019 and participated in a small fan meeting event. When asked if he was able to do something more since his arrival, he said that he was not able to explore considering he arrived in the wee hours. He quipped that he only had three hours (or so) of sleep, but he is eager to do so if given enough time.

He also stated that he wants to go to Cebu and try Jollibee based on fansโ€™ recommendations. As for his role as an ambassador for biodiversity in Thailand, he said that he wants to be able to help spread information and awareness as biodiversity involves all of us.

On what he wants to his fans to remember him by, apart from being a model, actor, singer, and ambassador, Gulf said it really does not matter. Fans can think of him in any way as long as it makes them happy.

He revealed that there are a lot of Thai actors he is willing to work with but there is one Filipino celebrity he wants to collaborate with and that is Sarah Geronimo. When it comes to his dream role, he said that he really wants to try being a villain as the character is usually multi-dimensional. Furthermore, he mentioned that if he feels good playing the role, then that is a favorite of his.

Gulf said that if he was not an actor, he would be a sports reporter and that if given an opportunity he would take all his fans to a football field and play with them. As for those who want to be successful, he advised them to keep chasing their dreams, so they wonโ€™t have any regrets. He ended the press conference by thanking the fans as well as the media and he is eager to meet them all later. As for the things to look forward to in the fan meeting, he said he prepared a lot of things and he hoped that fans would have an enjoyable night.

    Fun Corners with Gulf

    Q&A (with fans)

The first of the many enjoyable segments that night was the Q&A portion. The questions for this corner were collated from fans who posted them via social media. Gulf was very enthusiastic in answering the questions. When a fan asked if he has any lucky charms, he cheekily said his lucky charm is himself. He explained that if he does his best, he has no reason to rely on any lucky charms.

Someone asked if there is a possibility to release his own album soon, and Gulf said that he feels sorry that his song โ€œHomeโ€ is not available on streaming sites but maybe in the future it will be on. As for releasing an album, he teased that if he can have more songs maybe he would (in the future).

    Itโ€™s Me Gulf

For this particular segment, Gulf needed to agree or disagree with some statements with the aid of the โ€œXโ€ and โ€œโœ“โ€ boards. He disagreed with the statement about being good at dancing as he looks funny when doing so. But when asked to show a sample of his โ€œfunnyโ€ dance moves, he, though mostly shy, gamely danced to Sarah Gโ€™s โ€œTalaโ€.

This corner also revealed that Gulf is a competitive person, especially when it comes to football, his favorite sport. Gulf is also a workaholic that does not believe in love at first sight. Much to the delight of all the people inside the venue, Gulf said yes to the situation about doing something embarrassing in front of his crush. The crowd reacted once again when he said yes to being rejected by someone he liked. It was also a revelation when Gulf said that he is not a very romantic person.

    Gulfโ€™s Feed

In this corner, Gulf has to guess the correct answer to questions relating to some of the things he posted on his social media accounts. A wrong answer has a corresponding penalty. Gulf managed to provide the correct answers for the first two questions but faltered in the third. As a result, He needed to spell out his name using his hips. However, instead of just spelling out his nickname โ€œGulfโ€, Host Kring Kim challenged him more to do โ€œGulf Kanawutโ€, in English and Thai alphabet. Gulf accepted the challenge and completed it successfully.

    The Message/Question Board

Once again fans were given the spotlight as the next corner was about the questions they posted on the board. There was a special shout-out to the person who posted the question Gulf picked out. He said he is most happy when he plays with his cat Asa. Fans went wild when Gulf answered the question of how much he loves our โ€œSunโ€. Most of the ones picked were messages of support and encouragement which Gulf really appreciated.

    Football Challenge

Gulf has to at least hit the ball five times to successfully complete the mission. He made twelve hits and three lucky fans got signed balls.

    Guess the Tagalog Phrase

For this particular segment, Gulf has to correctly guess the meaning of Filipino words such as โ€œMahalโ€ (Love), โ€œKailangan Kitaโ€ (I need you), โ€œAalagaan Kitaโ€ (I will take care of you), โ€œIkaw lang sapat naโ€ (You are enough) and โ€œSayo lang akoโ€ (Iโ€™m only yours). Gulf correctly guessed the meanings of all the words.

    Lights Camera Copy

Gulf is tasked to re-enact famous scenes from two Filipino movies. Kring Kim, the ever-energetic host played opposite him. Though struggling with the words, Gulf powered through and gave each scene justice.

    Blue/Pink Paper Challenge

This was a game of elimination. Fans were given blue and pink paper slips which they will use to provide the answer to a given question. If their answer matches Gulfโ€™s they remain in the game and those who donโ€™t should sit. Three fans won personalized selfies with autographs and a bouquet of flowers.

    All-Out Performances from Gulf

Gulf kicked off his fan meet with a strong performance as he set the stage ablaze with his song โ€œWhy You So Serious?โ€. His next number was his rendition of โ€œHold Me Tightโ€ (เธ‚เธญเนเธ„เนˆเน€เธ˜เธญ – Kor kae ter), an official soundtrack from his TV Series TharnType. He followed this up with another OST from the same drama, โ€œBe Mineโ€ (เน„เธกเนˆเธขเธญเธก โ€“ Mai Yaum)

He also performed โ€œRailheadโ€ by K6Y, his go-to artist at the moment. Gulf also serenaded the audience with Justin Bieberโ€™s โ€œLove Yourself. He capped off the night with a performance of his song โ€œMy Homeโ€ — dressed in barong, a traditional Filipino clothing. Gulf thanked the fans for coming out and spending the night with him. He promised to be better and express appreciation to all the fans. He hoped that the fans had a good time, and he is looking forward to seeing the fans again.

    To our dearest Gulf…

Fans of the Thai actor made sure that he went home with the sweetest memories of his Manila visit. They prepared a banner project and a special video that contain affirmations and gratitude for their hope.

We’ll be behind you to cheer you on, walk beside you throughout your journey and you’ll see us in front to celebrate every milestone you’ve achieve. You’re always our hope.

To our dearest GULF, from your Phiballs

Singer-songwriter and GOT7’s leader Jay B made his return to the Philippine concert stage, kicking off his 2022 World Tour JAY B TAPE: PRESS PAUSE at the New Frontier Theater on October 1. Presented by PULP Live World, the concert also marked his first solo concert and his comeback to the country after GOT7’s 2019 concert.

Amid the excited cheers of Ahgases who happily and enthusiastically welcomed their leader back, Jay B emerged with hyped-up performances of “Switch It Up”, “Ride”, and “AM PM”. Surely got us enthralled from AM to PM, the singer-songwriter greeted his local fans with the sweetest smile, expressing his gratitude to everyone who came out to meet him that night and remarking that the Philippines is the first stop of his world tour.

READ: 5 Jay B Songs to Listen to Every Day

With a series of performances of “Into You”, “Dive Into You”, “Count On Me”, and “Sunrise”, Jay B took the stage, ratcheting up the intensity in the room even further. He didn’t let the enthusiasm drop off and proceeded to rule the stage with “BTW” and “Fame”.

In addition to providing Ahgases with amazing performances and his distinctive vocals and moves, the singer-songwriter also seized the opportunity to interact closely with them. He went down the stage to seek restaurant ideas and to learn terms from the Filipino language like “Ang pogi ko“, “Pasensya“, and “Shot puno“.

The GOT7 singer dazzled with his renditions of “Hush”, “Fade Away”, and “Rainy” appearing untiring and full of enthusiasm throughout.

A truly surprising collaboration: James Reid joins Jay B on stage

And he got so much more in-store that night as he performed “Hello 2.0” with James Reid. The crowd went into a frenzy with the unexpected on-stage collaboration of the two artists who admitted to meeting each other in person for the first time that night. And surprises never stopped with James Reid debuting his newest single “u & i” live at the New Frontier Theater, teaming up with Ahgases who generously chanted for him.

Jay B then returned on stage, dominating it with fun performances of “Go UP” and “The Way We Are”, tracks from his newest extended play, Be Yourself. The singer-songwriter hopes that the album gives people strength and power.

“When I am getting older, I kept thinking that there are many hard things that come into life. I was thinking that maybe you feel the same way I do. I want to create songs that are for healing,” he added. He went on to perform other tracks from Be Yourself, namely “Livin’”, “Fountain of Youth”, “Break It Down”, and “Holyday”.

For GOT7’s Forever Leader, JAY B…

Prepared by Filipino Ahgases, a special video for the leader of GOT7 was played which featured his special moments with his members and fans, along with a heartwarming message that relayed their gratitude for all his sacrifices and efforts and their promise of support.

Your Filipino Ahgases have so much to tell you but our words will never be enough to really say how we feel. If we can just say one thing, it would be thank you

for getting us through the roughest of times with your music

for keeping GOT7 together even when you’re apart

for putting into words and music things we cannot express

for being our shining star, even in the darkest times

for inspiring us to be true to ourselves

for being our home all these years

Thank you, Jay B, for being our leader, our artist, and our friend. Mahal ka namin.

For GOT7’s forever leader, Jay B, from your Filipino Ahgases

Ahgases made sure that their leader knows he is the best as they chanted — loud and proud — “BEST LEADER”. “Because of you guys, I was able to become the best leader,” he said. He shared that he was worried about how he will be able to keep the position, but for Ahgases, he will try his best.

“Thank you so much. I was very happy that Manila is the first stop of my world tour. I think I can finish the rest of my tour because of the warm cheers I got from the Philippines. I’ll burn the start of my world tour with you, guys,” he added.

Giving everyone the comfort they needed, the singer-songwriter warmed hearts with “Rocking Chair”.

    GOT7 medley from GOT7’s leader

A GOT7 member concert will never be complete without a GOT7 song on the setlist. After an encore performance of “Go UP”, Jay B performed a medley of GOT7 hits namely “Page”, “Teenager”, “Breath”, “Thursday”, and “NANANA”.

He also gifted Ahgases with a taste of his unreleased song, before closing the concert with “Sunset With You” and “Go Higher” — and a showcase of B-Boy Jay B.

The 2022 WORLD TOUR JAY B TAPE: PRESS PAUSE in Manila was the perfect way to kick start October with the loudest bang. It was a stunning display of Jay B’s great artistry and music, with his distinctive vocals and stage presence taking over the concert stage. The singer-songwriter’s unwavering passion and genuine enjoyment were also evident in the more than two-hour performance of more than 20 songs. And Filipino Ahgases’ fervent applause and cheers made the performance even more memorable.

  • Jessi Touches Hearts in Her First Solo Concert

Jessi Touches Hearts in Her First Solo Concert

It was a heartwarming concert and a night to always remembers for everyone at Jessi’s Zoom in Manila concert!

Jessi marked a milestone in her career last September 30 and her Filipino fans were fortunate to witness it happen and play a significant part in its realization. The singer’s recently-concluded Zoom in Manila concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena was not only her first solo concert in the Philippines, but it served as her first ever solo concert in her career.

With lights dimmed and cheers getting louder and louder, Jessi opened the show with her 2021 hit song “What Type of X” and a snippet of Refund Sisters’ “Don’t Touch Me”. Witnessing the crowd’s enthusiasm and overwhelming support, the singer turned emotional and tried her best to contain her tears. But her words resonated with gratitude. “Thank you for loving Jessi,” she said, adding a promise of a great show that night that will melt everyone’s stress. “Just f*cking have an amazing time, alright?”.

It was indeed and beyond amazing. Zoom in Manila delivered so much beyond that promise as Filipino Jebbies returned home with a warm heart and more love for the ssen eonni who reminded everyone that it’s okay to be vulnerable.

The “Zoom” singer was beyond grateful for the love and support that her Filipino fans tirelessly showered her that evening. “Thank you for loving Jessi,” she said.

With thundering cheers from fans, Jessi continued to fire up the Philippine concert stage with “Put It On Ya” and “Ganji”. During her “Ganji” performance, a collaboration with Psy, the singer gave a shoutout to Psy and PNation.

She then performed “Numb”, a song from her extended play Nuna that was released in 2020. She also shared that the song is one of her favorite songs and one of the hardest songs to sing. Still, the singer gave an all-out soulful performance of the song with lyrics that hit hard and make you sing loud.

Jessi has arrived: Wherever f*cking room you arrive, let them know you are motherf*cking there.

Fully dominating the stage, Jessi performed “Arrived” next. But before getting on the song, she gave the crowd a confidence-boosting ment, “Wherever f*cking room you arrive, let them know you are motherf*cking there.”

In between her performances, the singer shared words of encouragement and inspiration. She also relayed her appreciation to her fans for making the concert possible. “You gotta f*ckin’ fall. You gotta f*ckin’ meet f*cked up people. Even my haters. Like I said, it took me 18 years. As a solo artist, they told me this is the first time that many tickets were sold out. I’m so blessed and I’m so thankful. Today is a celebration, not a day for me to cry. I just want to say thank you guys so much,” she said.

She then introduced her next song, “Boing”, which, she said, literally has no meaning. “It just means raising your tits high, right? It means raising your chest high.”

“Wherever you f*cking go, let them know that you are f*cking there. That’s why it’s called “Boing”,” she added. She gave also a shoutout to all the independent b*tches, reminding them that they don’t need a guy to pay their motherf*cking bills. “I’m gonna tell you that it will so much stronger and greater when you have your own money, your own dignity,” she said.

Jessi continued to put on a show like no other with “Gucci” with the tireless cheers of Filipino Jebbies echoing in the background. “Live how the f*ck you want. I just want to tell you that,” she said before taking over the stage once again with “Who Dat B” and “Wet”. The singer then joked around with fans that in case she messed up the dance for “Down”, they had to let it slide and encouraged them to twerk along with her.

Following “Spirit Animal”, Jessi had a surprise up her sleeve, inviting A-Team on stage, who choreographed a dance for her in two to three days, for the “Drip” performance. The singer also did not hold back in expressing her amazement for Filipino talents. “What are you guys not good at? Hey, Philippine people, you guys are f*cking good at everything.”

A-Team then took over the stage, impressing the crowd with their moves and incredible stage presence as Jessi prepares for the next part of the show.

To Filipino Jebbies’ shining star, thank you for the inspiration.

A VCR featuring childhood memories of Jessi was shown, giving a glimpse of the star’s young years before she returned on stage with an emotion-filled performance of “Star”.

Every day I see the stars
    Shining bright into my life
    Oh yeah oh yeah
Fought this battle on my own
Found my strength in love I feel
    Everything I do is real
    For you for you

    Star by Jessi

The crowd chanted her name, comforting her that she did well and she was doing good. It was then Jessi’s turn to give fans encouraging words, telling them that “A bad b*tch can still cry, okay? The first step of courage is knowing your fears — that is the first step of strength. I want you guys to know that if you fall, it’s okay because you guys know how to get the f*ck back up, right?”

“Thank you, Philippines, for all the good energy tonight,” she said before keeping the memories of that evening through a photo with her Filipino Jebbies. But the love for Jessi did not end with cheers and lights from her fans as they prepared a special video with messages from her fans, friends, and family. Deeply touched by the moving messages of fans and their stories of how the singer inspired them, Jessi teared up.

“Be your true self. I promise that you will regret it for the rest of your life if you don’t. When I was a young kid, I came to Korea when I was 14, 15. What the f*ck do I know at 14, 15? I’m a little kid, right? I came to Korea thinking I wanna chase my dreams and my parents let me because they knew I was gonna fall. They knew I was gonna fail, but they said it’s okay to fail. And look at me now, my parents are so proud of me,” she said.

Zooming in and Zooming out with Jessi in Zoom in Manila

Zoom in Manila will never be complete without a performance of Jessi’s iconic hit, “Zoom”. The performer gave a series of performances of her greatest hits, including “Cold Blooded,” “Zoom,” and “Nunu Nana,” to the Filipino Jebbies. Filipino Jebbies, who are notorious for being the loudest concert crowd, once again proved why they are the best crowd by singing along with Jessi with all of their might.

Giving the perfect ending to the best ending of September, Jessi came back on stage for an encore performance of “SsenUnni”. The singer also made sure that her fans return home with the best memories of that night as she went down the stage and came closer to the crowd.

Zoom in Manila was a heartwarming concert, filled with encouragement and inspiration. It was genuine and personal. It was Jessi, sharing her art and her story with us. Thank you, Jessi.

Money Heist Spinoff Series Berlin Begins Production

At a press conference on Wednesday, Netflix made the announcement that production would soon begin on Berlin, a spinoff of La Casa de Papel (Money Heist) that will focus on the character played by Pedro Alonso.

The series is led by Pedro Alonso, who plays the skilled jewel thief Andrรฉs de Fonollosa, also known as Berlin. In the prequel, which takes place before the events of Money Heist, Alonso will be joined by a brand new group of criminals.

Michelle Jenner (The Cook of Castamar) will play electronics specialist Keil , and Tristรกn Ulloa (Warrior Nun) will make an appearance as Damiรกn, Berlin’s trusted advisor and a philanthropic professor. Begoa Vargas from Welcome to Eden plays the unstable Cameron; Julio Pea Fernรกndez from Through My Window appears as Roi; and Joel Sรกnchez as the man of action, Bruce.

    Courtesy of Netflix

The eight-part prequel was written by Money Heist creators Esther Martnez Lobato and Alex Pina. During a Netflix event in Madrid, Martnez Lobato talked about the idea and said that “Berlinโ€™s character has the most sparkling personality to place it in another universe. We loved the idea of introducing a new gang around Berlin in a completely different emotional state.

Alonso has disclosed how the first episode of the series was written. “There are only ten things that can turn a terrible day into a wonderful one. The first is love. And the truth is, that wasn’t the case. My third wife had just left me. The second is a spoil of more than ten million euros. But it wasn’t the case either. We were going to steal the link to a much bigger heist, but today’s was easy. But if you have a bad day, you can end up bringing a miserable person to his knees and aiming for his head.”

The series will begin shooting on October 3 in Paris and will take place over several weeks between the French capital and Madrid.

  • Paramore drops new single and video, new album out next year

Paramore drops new single and video, new album out next year

Paramore are back with their first new music since 2017. The beloved Nashville-based trio ofย Zac Farro,ย Hayley Williamsย &ย Taylor Yorkย have returned from their hiatus – and the global pandemic – with โ€œThis Is Whyโ€, one of the best songs of their already impressive repertoire. In whatโ€™s widely recognized as one of the most exciting musical returns of the year, the band have also announced the release of their long awaited sixth studio album,ย This is Why,forย February 10th 2023ย onย Atlantic Records.ย Recorded in Los Angeles, California with long-time collaboratorย Carlos de la Garza, the album features 10 new Paramore songs with cover art shot byย Zachary Gray.

Entering back into a world – and cultural landscape – very different from the one they last participated in, Paramore have returned with a song about exactly that. โ€œThis Is Whyโ€ is a deliciously infectious Paramore ear-worm for the post-truth world. Of the song, Williams says, โ€œThis Is Why was the very last song we wrote for the album. To be honest, I was so tired of writing lyrics but Taylor convinced Zac and I both that we should work on this last idea. What came out of it was the title track for the whole album. It summarizes the plethora of ridiculous emotions, the rollercoaster of being alive in 2022, having survived even just the last 3 or 4 years. Youโ€™d think after a global pandemic of fucking biblical proportions and the impending doom of a dying planet, that humans would have found it deep within themselves to be kinder or more empathetic or something.โ€

The video was directed by Turnstileโ€™s Brendan Yates and filmed in Malibu, California last month. Speaking on the video and collaboration, Williams says, โ€œIt was so rad working with Brendan. Iโ€™ve known the Turnstile guys for a little while and was so psyched to have our worlds collide in this way. Thereโ€™s a cool kinship between the way our bands do things… Hopefully we will get to play shows with them at some point,โ€

    STREAM โ€œTHIS IS WHYโ€ HERE

WATCH VIDEO FOR โ€œTHIS IS WHYโ€ HERE

When Paramore revealed they were recording together in January 2022 the response from music fans around the world was immediate and celebratory. In the time since the Grammy-winning, RIAA-certified multi-Platinum band released their last album, After Laughter  – and Hayley Williams unveiled two lauded solo albums – Paramore have become more popular than ever.  Over the last few years Paramoreโ€™s influence and popularity has snowballed, as the age of streaming organically propelled them into a position as one of the worldโ€™s biggest, most culturally compelling rock bands. For the band, who formed as teenagers in Tennessee, their 20 year trajectory has seen them grow from youthful outsiders to bone-fide pop culture icons, permeating the musical landscape by inspiring a new generation of musical talent.

    PRE-ORDER THIS IS WHY HERE

Renowned for their arena-filling and festival-headlining performance prowess, the opportunity to see Paramore play their first theater shows in years created headline news. Their upcoming run of intimate live dates sold out in minutes. The band are donating a portion of their ticket sales to organizations working in areas of essential community support, including ARC Southeast, Kansas Abortion Funds, Shelter Safe Canada and Support & Feed.
