Following their explosive debut with “O’ Kay Tamis,” OPM sensation “It All Started In May” (IASIM) has gifted fans their second single, “Pasado,” now available on all streaming platforms. This release comes just one month after their debut — a direct response to overwhelming demand from their rapidly growing fanbase, affectionately dubbed “Mayopets” — a clever fusion of the Filipino word for May, “Mayo,” and “malupet,” which means impressive or cool.
“Pasado” is about admiring someone from afar, wondering if they’re out of your league, filled with the uncertainty of being able to meet their standards. The song lyrically asks questions such as, “Mali nga ba ang humanga sa isang katulad mo?” (“Is it wrong to admire someone like you?”) while its catchy chorus reinforces this sentiment: “Coz’ it feels like you’re out of my league, out of my league, oh baby! Parang hindi pasado, pasado sa iyo!” (It feels like I can’t pass your standards).
With its fun, lighthearted, and memorable melody, “Pasado” is an easy listen that makes it a perfect addition to any playlist. Both fans and new listeners alike are sure to appreciate the infectious energy of this track.
The band is composed of five members: Red as lead vocals and guitar, Mikee on drums, Jai on keyboard, Pau on rhythm guitar and vocals, and JP on bass and vocals. They released their debut single “O’ Kay Tamis” last May and it has been well-received. Apart from the song being used by a lot of people in their social media content, “O’ Kay Tamis” has also been featured in six editorial playlists on Spotify — definitely a big achievement for a new band!
As IASIM continues to gain momentum in the music scene, fans can look forward to more exciting releases — and gigs — in the coming months.

Whenever two people are bound by a strong chemistry, the way towards love is often made more thrilling by a sense of anticipation, fleeting moments that intensify rather than detract from romantic fulfillment. Seven episodes into Puregold’s Si Sol at si Luna, avid viewers of the hit digital series are caught in the spell, not just through Sol and Luna’s furtive glances or almost-kisses, but also because of the deep and strong attraction brewing between them.
Love is love in any language but for Filipinos who perpetually need a dopamine fix, kilig—the butterflies in the stomach or the shiver down the spine—is what best describes the sensation they feel as they watch sweet romance unfold. Here, we present Si Sol at si Luna’s top five kilig moments that had its followers squealing into their pillows.
That First Glimpse (Episode 1, “Babae sa Bus”) Sometimes, kilig comes quietly. In the very first episode, Sol (Zaijian Jaranilla) captures Luna (Jane Oineza) crying on the bus as he gathers clips for his documentary, marking the series’ turning point. As if drawn by a strong irresistible force, Sol resolves to know Luna’s story. Moments of tenderness and vulnerability, gleaned from Luna and Sol’s compelling attraction for each other, are what get fans hooked on the unfolding story.
In Puregold’s ‘Si Sol at si Luna’ the kilig is never-ending.Sol and Luna share a quiet moment in the midst of unfolding emotions.Sol gets to know Luna on a deeper level in the next episode.
Ben and Luna during the Office Karaoke Party (Episode 3, “Chasing the Girl”) As viewers’ comments attest, not all the kilig moments are between Sol and Luna. During team leader Ben’s (Joao Constancia) birthday karaoke celebration, viewers couldn’t help swooning over how he showed affection for Luna–from listening to her emotional performance (while everyone seemed to ignore her song) to making sure she got home safe. Ben may not be the series’ main lead, but his feelings for and careful attention to Luna were not lost on viewers.
Luna’s smile appears brighter with Sol.Tension and tenderness build as Sol and Luna grow closer each week.
When Sol Met the Family (Episode 6, “Meet the Family”) Ara (Karina Bautista) and Sol’s team-up for a pretend “date” melted hearts. Ara’s fear of being seen as someone “unlovable” by her family was met with Sol’s steady kindness as he stepped in, no questions asked. When they held hands during her family gathering, the comfort between them felt natural, and fans couldn’t help wondering, is there a possibility that they would end up together?
Moments shared between Sol and Luna continue to resonate with audiences.Luna’s team leader Ben, who seems to be very fond of her, meets Sol.
Luna Waits for Sol (Episode 6, “Meet the Family”) In the same episode, Luna and Sol finally scheduled an interview for the project, but Sol was stuck at Ara’s family event. As the day wore on, tension built. Sol was running late but in the final shot, he comes upon Luna, still there, waiting. That scene convinced fans that Luna wanted to see Sol, no matter how long it took. Sometimes, kilig is in the waiting.
As the story progresses, Sol and Luna’s bond becomes increasingly difficult to ignore. Each encounter between Sol and Luna adds new layers to their evolving relationship.
The Almost “Kiss” (Episode 7, “The Interview”) Of course, the top kilig moment was the intimate, emotionally charged interview in Luna’s apartment. As she opened up, Sol became visibly more drawn to her—not just emotionally, but physically. He was seemingly engrossed in filming her, but it was clear that he was barely listening, as he was lost in the moment. When they both reached for something that dropped on the floor, their faces drew close, and for a second, viewers thought they would kiss. Chemistry, timing, and an intimate setting made for the most recent episode’s most exciting kilig moment.
What kilig does the next episode have in store for us?Ben catches Sol and Luna kissing in the next episode of the much-awaited series. Will Sol and Luna finally meet halfway? The latest episode may hold the answer.
It’s a weekly treat, a break from life’s sameness and routine, the way Puregold Channel continues to deliver not just kilig, but a story that feels real and relatable.
In Episode 8 ‘Field Trip sa Real World?’, we will know if Sol will fall even deeper, and whether Luna will meet him halfway. And if she does, how will the world react? Will there be more kilig? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Catch Si Sol at si Luna’s 8th episode on Saturday, July 19, at 7 PM, only on Puregold Channel.

The five-member group is all set to reach for their dreams!
WRIVE has dropped its double-title debut offering, “Ooh La La” and “Señorita,” signaling its official launch as ABS-CBN’s newest Filipino boy group.
Managed by ABS-CBN’s talent management, Polaris-Star Magic and signed under the premier record label Star Music, the five-member group is made up of Asi, Drei, Ishiro, Mathew, and Russu who were all a part of the idol survival show “Dream Maker” in 2022.
WRIVE, pronounced as ‘rayv,’ is derived from the phrase “we have arrived” which represents the members’ unity to reach their dreams.
The pop-funk track “Ooh La La” describes a romantic journey of wanting to escape reality with someone special. It was produced by ABS-CBN Music content, creatives, and operations head Jonathan Manalo and composed by ALAS and Jeremy G.
Meanwhile, WRIVE member Russu composed the pop-R&B song “Señorita” which displays Latin music influence that delves into winning the heart of the person they love. ALAS also served as the track’s producer.
The music video of “Ooh La La” will premiere on Thursday (July 17), 8pm on ABS-CBN Star Music YouTube channel.
The two songs will be part of the P-pop group’s debut album set to be released later this year. They are also set to perform in the upcoming Star Magic All-Star Games 2025 happening at the Araneta Coliseum this July 20 (Sunday).

June 21, 2025 — Rain pelted down the late afternoon to the evening, but that didn’t stop the crowd drawing a record-breaking foot traffic of 14,527 for the Main Stage of Fête de la Musique: Un Monde at Ayala Triangle Gardens, Makati City. Now on its 31st Edition, it is known as the biggest and longest-running music festival in the Philippines, spanning over 100 pocket stages that feature a diverse set of local talents nationwide.
Naturally, Fête’s Main Stage was grander than ever this year. A curious blend of incredible artists from divergent genres – jazz, alternative, art pop, electronic, R&B, and more – joined forces in one stage for the sake of one thing alone: the love for music. From 4PM to a few minutes shy of midnight, Fête thrilled thousands and thousands of music fans in the city.
Here are some of the highlights of the Main Stage, in photos.
Setting the fiery tempo of the festival, the beats of the Filipino Afro-Brazilian percussion group Brigada welcomed the eager crowd. The rain started pouring when Janine took center stage, but her soulful vocals especially during “Sandig” drowned out the restlessness. The Ridleys fused saccharine ballads with alternative folk so seamlessly; it was easy to understand why a good number of the audience sang along fondly to their songs like “Love Is” and “Be With You”.
Hailing from Japan, Ito Kashitaro came in like a whirlwind as he took the stage, bursting with tremendous energy. The singer-songwriter, known for contributing songs for anime soundtracks, performed a lively acoustic set with tracks like “Vita Philosophica”, “Pierrot” and “Magic Music”.
A bit of chill, a lot of groove – French trio Emile Londonien brought their sophisticated fusion of electronic and jazz to Fête. Armi Millare’s set was a balm to a long night. Her soothing vocals, matched with the hugot lyrics, ran deep with the Fête crowd as she performed “Say It Again”, “Kapit”, “Oo” and “Tadhana”.
Fête de la Musique also proved to be a brilliant avenue for astonishing artist collaborations. The set for soul duo Leanne & Naara and funk ensemble Brass Pas Pas Pas turned out to be one of the most energizing performances of the evening.
Tenacious art pop met experimental techno as Ena Mori and the electronic duo Tarsius performed together on stage — a vibrant auditory spectacle.
Squeals echoed all over the venue as James Reid entered the stage. The actor and singer dished out his suave singing chops as he sang “Blessed”, “Randomatic” and “Pahinga”.
For the grand finale, OPM legend Ely Buendia thrilled the crowd with the Method Adaptor experience, performing songs from the album which included “Kandarapa”, “Kontrabando”, “Tagpi-Tagping Piraso” and “Bulaklak sa Buwan”.
June 21 is a monumental day by nature, as it is the summer solstice, thereby making it the longest day of the year. It is also known as the World Music Day also known as Fête de la Musique. Undoubtedly, in 2025, we found out that the best way to remember such an important day was to be part of the festival, celebrating music freely. Cheers to 31 years of Fête! We’re already looking forward to the next one!
The 2025 Edition of Fête de la Musique in the Philippines is presented by Alliance Française de Manille, co-presented by the Embassy of France to the Philippines, Funkybeat Entertainment, and Anam Kara.
For the first time, anime music fans in the Philippines got to experience the spectacle that is Animelo Summer Live, better known as Anisama, right in our backyard. Held at the New Frontier Theater on June 7, the Manila leg marked a historic debut for the world’s biggest anisong festival.
For anime fans, Anisama is something of a holy grail. Born in 2005 and held annually in Saitama, it’s a gathering of some of the biggest artists behind the soundtracks that shaped entire generations of anime watchers. It’s a celebration of music, idol culture, video games, vocaloids, and the emotional worlds we attach to fictional characters.
All Together Now The night opened and ended in ensemble fashion. Hiroshi Kitadani, voice actor and veteran anisong performer, led the full lineup in “We Are!”, the first One Piece opening theme and a sacred text for anime fans.
Midway, the crowd was treated to two more all-hands-on-deck moments— one featuring nobodyknows+’s hip-hop classic “Kokoro Odoru” from SD Gundam Force, and another when FLOW ignited the room with “GO!!!”, the iconic Naruto opening that never fails to send a crowd into overdrive.
Individual Highlights and Collabs That Surprised The beauty of Anisama lies in its diversity of sound. Each act brought its own flavor and fandom.
Ave Mujica from the BanG Dream! Universe leaned into darkness and drama. They looked like anime come to life but meant business with their heavy riffs.
Mayu Maeshima, formerly of MYTH & ROID, owned the stage with her voice and a rockstar swagger.
Thai anisong darling MindaRyn radiated joy, professing her love for Jollibee, Chickenjoy, and adobo between songs. Alongside Kitadani, she surprised the audience with a rendition of the “Voltes V Theme,” a song deeply embedded into the Filipino anime psyche, prompting a singalong.
Toshiya Miyata of idol group Kis-My-Ft2 began his set with a slick dance break before teaming up with FLOW for their version of “Butterfly” from Digimon Adventure.
Tokyo-based rockers ASH DA HERO turned the dial up to eleven. Frontman ASH is a natural showman — handing fans the mic, even walking among the audience on the first floor. His call to stand up and jump wasn’t a suggestion—it was a command.
One of the night’s most satisfying sets came from hip-hop veterans nobodyknows+. When they launched into the opening bars of “Hero’s Comeback” from Naruto Shippuden, the theater rose on instinct. There were no gimmicks, just tight flow, magnetic stage presence, and contagious cool.
Kitadani and MindaRyn—who call themselves Team Blazer—joined forces for “Bokura no Spectra” from Ultraman Blazer, joined later by Maeshima for “Ahhh!” from One Piece. Kitadani’s voice reached the rafters, reminding everyone why he’s a pillar of the genre.
FLOW Brings It Home
No act loomed larger than FLOW. If Anisama had an unspoken headliner, it was them. Returning to the Philippines for the first time since Ozine Fest 2016, the band lit up the stage with back-to-back bangers: “Cha-La Head-Cha-La” from Dragon Ball Z, “Sign” from Naruto Shippuden, and “Colors” from Code Geass. By the end of their set, the air was thick with sweat and serotonin.
Cameras Down, Hands Up True to Japanese concert tradition, photography and videography were strictly prohibited. It forced the audience to engage viscerally, to shout and sweat rather than scroll. You had to remember, because you couldn’t replay.
Originally slated for the Araneta Coliseum, the event was moved to the more intimate New Frontier Theater. What it lacked in size, it made up for in soul. Every flick of a lightstick felt like a ritualistic transfer of energy. Some fans screamed, some sang, some jumped. Many did all three.
Since its inception in 2005, Anisama has been a cornerstone of Japan’s anime music scene, only rarely venturing abroad. The festival has only touched down in Shanghai (2011, 2024) and Taiwan (2024). This stop in Manila felt like a recognition that Filipino fans aren’t just passive consumers, but passionate contributors to the culture. For one night, Manila didn’t just host Anisama—it became part of its story.
