Featuring lyrics and music by Emmy, GRAMMY, Oscar, and Tony winners Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, this production was reimagined by Londonโ€™s Regentโ€™s Park Open Air Theatre, where it originated, and is helmed by director Timothy Sheader and choreographer Drew McOnie. Completing the creative team is design by Tom Scutt, lighting design by Lee Curran, sound design by Nick Lidster, and music supervision by Tom Deering.

A global phenomenon that has wowed audiences for decades, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is a timeless work that explores the biblical portrayal of the extraordinary events that led to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as seen through the eyes of his betrayer, Judas Iscariot. The story, told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships and struggles among Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, Jesusโ€™ disciples, his followers, and the Roman Empire. Originally released as a concept album, the iconic 1970s rock score contains such well-known numbers as โ€˜Superstarโ€™, โ€˜I Donโ€™t Know How to Love Himโ€™, and โ€˜Gethsemaneโ€™.

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR opened on Broadway in 1971 at the Mark Hellinger Theatre. The original London production opened at the Palace Theatre on 9 August 1972 and ran for over eight years. By the time it closed, after 3,358 performances, it had become the longest-running musical in West End history at that time. JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR has been reproduced regularly around the world in the years since its first appearance, with performances including a Broadway revival in 2012, an ITV competition TV show called Superstar that led to casting Ben Forster as Jesus in an arena tour of the show, and a production at the Regentโ€™s Park Open Air Theatre celebrating 45 years since the musicalโ€™s Broadway debut. JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR will also have a limited run at the iconic London Palladium in summer 2026. This production was originally created and produced at Regentโ€™s Park Open Air Theatre.

This production of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR won the 2017 Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival and the 2016 Evening Standard Award for Best Musical, selling out two consecutive engagements in 2016 and 2017. The production played a West End engagement at the Barbican in 2019 before returning to Regentโ€™s Park Open Air Theatre in concert version during the summer of 2020, followed by a universally acclaimed UK tour in 2023/24.

New and final JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR show dates have been released and are now available exclusively through TicketWorld. Don’t miss the opportunity to catch JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR at the Theatre at Solaire this coming May 2, 2026, and must close on May 31, 2026. No further extensions possible.

The 2026 Tour of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is produced by GMG Productions and David Ian for Crossroads Live and Work Light Productions. The original production was produced by London’s Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. โ€˜Groundbreakingโ€™ People Power 40 Kick-Off Concert draws over 20,000 attendees

More than 20,000 people flocked to Quezon Memorial Circle on Saturday for the People Power 40 Kick-Off Concert, marking a vibrant and groundbreaking start to the commemoration of the bloodless revolution that restored democracy in the Philippines.

Based on estimates from the Quezon City government, the crowd swelled to over 20,000 during the event organized by Mayor Joy Belmonte and the Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG), and Senator Bam Aquino and Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership (KN).

Carrying the theme โ€œAwit at Aksyon Kontra Korapsyon,โ€ the event departed from the traditional somber tone of previous EDSA People Power I commemorations, with the crowd enjoying performances by singers, rock bands, rappers, stand-up comedians, a dance group, and drag artists, bridging generations and connecting audiences of all ages.

Acoustic icon Ice Seguerra opened the main show, moving the audience with his emotional rendition of โ€œBayan Ko,โ€ which was written in 1928 during the countryโ€™s struggle against American colonization, with the Quezon Memorial Circle pylon light show serving as backdrop.

Elmo and Arkin Magalona honored the legacy of their legendary father, Francis Magalona, with performances of some of his iconic hits that earned him the title of the countryโ€™s King of Rap, including โ€œ1-800-Ninety-Six,โ€ โ€œKaleidoscope World,โ€ and the crowd-favorite โ€œIto Ang Gusto Ko.โ€

Stand-up comedians Alex Calleja and Red Ollero elicited laughter from the crowd with their brand of comedy, touching on current controversies and the everyday challenges Filipinos face.

Ebe Dancel then serenaded the crowd with hits such as โ€œBurnout,โ€ โ€œMakita Kang Muli,โ€ and โ€œBawat Daan.โ€ He was followed by Amiel Sol with โ€œIkaw Lang Patutunguhan,โ€ โ€œNahanap Kita,โ€ and โ€œSa Bawat Sandali.โ€

Nica Del Rosario, composer and singer of the 2022 campaign hit song โ€œRosas,โ€ sang โ€œTalaโ€ and collaborated with rapper Pio Balbuena in the hit song โ€œKapangyarihan.โ€ Balbuena continued his solo performance with โ€œ44 Bars,โ€ โ€œRepublika ng Tambay,โ€ and โ€œAkinse.โ€

Hip-hop group Morobeats ignited the stage with their energetic and expletive-laden numbers โ€œDi Papasakop,โ€ โ€œMagna,โ€ and โ€œAnak Ka ng Pu,โ€ calling out corruption in government and Chinaโ€™s continued harassment of Filipino vessels in the West Philippine Sea and baseless claims of Philippine territory.

Femme MNL, composed of LGBTQIA+ dancers, captivated the audience with a dynamic playback Rihanna set, while rock band Chelsea Alley thrilled the crowd with their powerful hits โ€œWe Are,โ€ โ€œCamouflage,โ€ and โ€œHeneral.โ€

Later in the evening, OPM legend Janno Gibbs belted his hit song โ€œPinakamagandang Lalakiโ€ and joined fellow hitmaker Ogie Alcasid for a duet โ€œHandog ng Pilipino.โ€

Alcasid took the stage with his hits โ€œSige Laglagan Naโ€ and โ€œNandito Ako,โ€ followed by Over October with songs such as โ€œDahan,โ€ โ€œBitin,โ€ and โ€œIkot.โ€ Earl Agustin serenaded the crowd with โ€œTibok,โ€ โ€œPag Ibig ng Ikaw at Ako,โ€ and โ€œDalangin,โ€ before Rivermaya, joined by the Quezon City Symphonic Band, performed โ€œYouโ€™ll Be Safe Here,โ€ โ€œUmaaraw, Umuulan,โ€ and โ€œAwit ng Kabataan.โ€

The Magalonas ended the show with โ€œIto Ang Gusto Ko,โ€ followed by a 10-minute fireworks display that lit up the night sky, capping a celebration of unity, courage, and hope.

Talent manager and showbiz insider Ogie Diaz, along with Mama Loi Villarama, DJ JhaiHo, Bea Binene, and Iza Calzado, served as hosts. The pre-show featured performances by Madeline, Hey Moonshine, Stonefree, Chloe Redondo, Jkris Dantes, Crispin, Sisa and Bassilyo, TSN Drag, Mz. Chronicles, and Jasmine Dudley-Scales.

With its gritty, grounded, and innovative approach, pundits claim the concert offered a fresh way to remember and honor EDSA People Power I. By blending nostalgia with bold calls to hold corrupt officials accountable, they claimed it was undoubtedly a memorable way to kick off the 40th anniversary of EDSA 1.

  • Peabo Bryson Returns to Manila: A Golden Touch of Timeless Ballads!

Peabo Bryson Returns to Manila: A Golden Touch of Timeless Ballads!

Legendary R&B and soul singer Peabo Bryson, often hailed as the “King of Balladeers,” is set to grace Manila once again with his velvety voice and iconic hits. The two-time Grammy and Oscar winner will perform a one-night-only concert as part of his “The Golden Touch Tour” on March 8, 2026, at The Theatre at Solaire in Paraรฑaque City, Metro Manila. This highly anticipated event celebrates over five decades of Bryson’s illustrious career, promising an evening filled with sweeping ballads, heartfelt classics, and the kind of musical magic that has defined generations.

Bryson, now 74, first rose to prominence in the 1970s with his smooth, emotive style that blended R&B, soul, and pop. His breakthrough came with albums like Reaching for the Sky (1977) and Crosswinds (1978), but it was his duets for Disney films that cemented his legacy. The timeless “Beauty and the Beast” with Cรฉline Dion and “A Whole New World” with Regina Belle both earned him Academy Awards and Grammys, becoming staples in romantic playlists worldwide. Hits like “If Ever Youโ€™re in My Arms Again,” “Tonight, I Celebrate My Love” (with Roberta Flack), and “Can You Stop the Rain” have resonated with fans for decades, showcasing his unparalleled ability to convey deep emotion through song.

The Manila stop is part of Bryson’s Asia leg, following announcements of performances in Singapore as well. Produced by Biz Trends, the concert kicks off at 8:00 PM, with tickets available through TicketWorld starting from December 12, 2025. Fans can expect a setlist spanning his extensive catalog, from early soulful tracks to his award-winning Disney anthems, all delivered with the passion that has kept Bryson relevant for over 50 years.

In a recent exclusive interview with the PhilippineConcerts, Bryson shared what he is most looking forward to, returning to Manila this year?

PC: What are you most looking forward to returning to Manila this year?

Peabo Bryson: In the height of social discord, it was in the 50’s, and I went to a concert with my mother where Sam Cooke and Jackie Wilson were on stage, and they did something with their music there, they transcended racism, prejudice, religion, and politics. They made everybody stand and fellowship together. I thought that was the most powerful thing I have ever seen, and I have not seen anybody use music as a platform like that, and it resonated with me. Actually, honestly, it’s the reason I chose this as a profession. What I try to do now and in every single concert is to recreate that fellowship. I don’t do it from the stage. I’m going to get out there among you, I’m going to stand there with you in fellowship, and we’re going to sing the same song together. We’re not going to worry about who we stand next to, we’re not going to get worried about anything, we’re going to fellowship together, and we’ll feel good about it. And that’s why I do fellowship with my audience every single night, that’s what I look forward to doing in all these places, especially in Indonesia and the Philippines. I came here to fellowship, that’s what I do now, and again, that’s the basic reason why God has allowed me to continue my career, because I’m spreading that message, and I’m reminding people not to forget it. That simple.

Speaking specifically about his upcoming performance in Manila, Bryson highlighted a shift toward more intimate and intentional shows. โ€œMy objective now is laser-focused on one philosophy, to fellowship with my audience up close and personal,โ€ he explained. โ€œI donโ€™t want to be on a stage doing it. If youโ€™ve got a message, you need to be among the people and speak that message with them.โ€ Rejecting the โ€œimaginary wallโ€ between performers and audiences, Bryson promised a personal connection with Filipino fans, whom he holds in high regard. This marks his return after a postponed 2023 show and his last appearance in 2018 for the โ€œLove Rocksโ€ Valentineโ€™s concert.

With a career that has produced over 20 albums and influenced countless artists, Bryson’s “The Golden Touch Tour” is more than a concert, it’s a celebration of resilience, faith, and the power of music to transcend time. Filipino fans, known for their passionate support of balladeers, are in for an unforgettable night. Secure your tickets now, for this golden opportunity only with Peabo Bryson.

  • 25 Years After โ€œPagdating ng Panahon,โ€ Ice Seguerra Returns to Where the Story Began!

25 Years After โ€œPagdating ng Panahon,โ€ Ice Seguerra Returns to Where the Story Began!

MANILA, Philippines โ€” Twenty-five years after Pagdating ng Panahon became one of the most defining songs in Original Pilipino Music, Ice Seguerra is returning to the place where his story was first projectedโ€”and choosing, this time, how it begins.

Being Ice: Live! at the New Frontier, happening on February 27, 2026, is not a repeat of the earlier Newport staging of the concert memoir. It is a homecoming in the truest sense: a return to New Frontier Theater, the Cubao venue where Iceโ€™s films premiered during his childhood stardom, and where he was first seen by the nationโ€”before he had language for who he was becoming.

Opening the concert with Pagdating ng Panahonโ€”a song that for decades closed his showsโ€”marks a deliberate shift. Once a symbol of arrival, the song now serves as acknowledgment rather than climax, allowing the rest of the night to move forward into stories that came after fame: survival, quiet work, and authorship.

โ€œFor a long time, that song was the ending people waited for,โ€ Ice shares. โ€œNow, I want it to be the beginningโ€”and then let the rest of my story walk out on its own.โ€

Set in Cubao, the concert traces a full arc that many audiences never saw. After childhood fame receded, this was where Ice stayedโ€”singing in small rooms, performing in showbands, and continuing to work when the spotlight was gone. Those years, often left out of public memory, form the emotional backbone of Being Ice, a concert structured not as a hit parade, but as a memoir told in chapters.

    โ€œThis isnโ€™t a comeback,โ€ Ice says. โ€œItโ€™s a return to the place that saw everythingโ€”including the parts people didnโ€™t clap for.โ€

As the concert coincides with Valentineโ€™s Month, its growing momentum reflects more than seasonal demand. Audiences are responding to a show that invites connection rather than spectacleโ€”one that treats love not as romance alone, but as endurance, community, and the choice to stay.

Supported by brand partners aligned with the concertโ€™s values of comfort and shared experience, Being Ice: Live! at the New Frontier continues to build anticipation as a one-night-only event rooted in memory, place, and presence.

Twenty-five years after Pagdating ng Panahon, Ice Seguerra returns not to relive an endingโ€”but to finally decide where the story begins.

  • Healing Through Music: ‘The Rose: Come Back to Me’ Captures the Band’s Raw, Unfiltered Story!

Healing Through Music: ‘The Rose: Come Back to Me’ Captures the Band’s Raw, Unfiltered Story!

From their youthful days as hopeful buskers in Hongdae, Seoul in 2012 up to their phenomenal headlining performance at Coachella in 2024, The Rose: Come Back to Me bares the bandโ€™s aspirations, struggles and triumphs over the years. Woosung, Dojoon, Hajoon and Taegyeom spilled their hearts out during the commentaries, presenting the unfiltered side of their story as a band. It delves deep into their connection with each other, their music and of course, their fans, the Black Roses. The documentary movie is a compelling watch not only for their fans, but even for plain music enthusiasts.

Iโ€™ve seen The Rose live twice. The first time was during We Rose You at the Samsung Hall in 2019 โ€“ four Korean guys forming a buzzing rock band. Their stage set-up was similar to that of a bar, a makeshift banner with their band and tour name hanging at the back as their backdrop. Their music were of the pop-rock mold with a slightly sweet K-pop flavor, Woosungโ€™s raspy voice echoing the yearning and angst of early adulthood.

Then, fast forward to 2024: the second time I saw them was during their Dawn to Dusk Tour at Big Dome โ€“ a much wider stage with flashy, burning lights matched with massive LED screens projecting animated effects all throughout the show. Their music had evolved significantly โ€“ their lyrics were now talking about healing and positivity, their beats and riffs now roaring to launch a whole stadium into a frenzy not far of from an EDM party.

The giant leap in The Roseโ€™s two concerts was always a bit of a mystery to me until I saw the movie. It was, quite simply, the story of how The Rose started as bud blossomed into a mammoth of a flower, spreading out their music into the vast world. Definitely worth a watch!

“The Rose: Come Back To Me” screens exclusively at @AyalaMalls Cinemas from February 14 to 20.
