With three songs in Spotify’s Top 200 charts, releasing a couple of new singles, an upcoming tour, and his first headliner event, Jan Roberts has had an eventful year.
Hailing from Bicol, Jan began his rise to fame on Tiktok, with millions of views and thousands of fans interacting on his posts. As a graduate in the performing arts, Jan began writing during the pandemic in 2020 and gained recognition through online busking on Discord. Recently, he has been making waves in the local music scene by carving out his own path.
Jan’s breakthrough came with the viral success of his track “Sagip,” which peaked at #3 on the Spotify PH Viral 100 charts and has since garnered over 24 million streams. The simplicity of his guitar melodies complements his raw, honest lyrics, moving audiences and cementing his reputation as a rising star. Following that success was “Hirap Kalimutan,” which achieved 500,000 streams on Spotify and had its lyric video trend at #23 on YouTube in its first week of release. Recently, he achieved yet another milestone: his three tracks, “Hirap Kalimutan,” “Sagip,” & “Patalang,” all entered the Spotify Top 200 charts at the same time. This further solidified his place in the OPM scene and is undoubtedly one to watch.
“Sobrang mixed emotions hindi ko minsan maramdaman kung ano yung dapat ko mafeel sa bilis at dami ng nangyayari, lalo na this is my dream and passion. Hindi ko pa rin maabsorb na wow ang dami na pala talagang nakakaalam ng songs ko at sobrang thankful ako sa lahat ng sumusuporta saakin. Walang katapusang pasasalamat. Masaya ako ngayon sa journey ko.” – Jan Roberts on his journey as an artist.
His most recent release, “Tanaw,” gained 100,000 streams in its first three days. “Tanaw” is a heartfelt waltz song about an endless love. No matter what happens or who comes along, they always end up with each other. Like dancing with the one you love, the song feels warm and timeless, as if every step is a promise. “Tanaw” is a song for those who believe that in the end, there will only ever be one person they’ll keep in sight.
“Kahit lumipas ang panahon at kumupas ang ganda, ikaw pa rin ang tanaw sa dulo ng mga alaala.” – Jan Roberts about “Tanaw.”
An advance screening event for the song’s music video will happen on October 17, 2025, at Backspacer Records in Pasig, where some of his superfans will get the opportunity to be among the first to watch it before its release on October 18, 2025.
His out-of-town fans will get an opportunity to watch and listen to him play his hits live during his tour, “Gabay Tuwing Naliligaw,” going to different provinces like Pampanga, Laguna, Batangas, Nueva Ecija, Cavite, and Rizal. The tour will be the lead-up to his first headlining show and official merch launch on November 29, 2025, at 123 Block in Mandala Park, Mandaluyong City, with guest artists like The Ridleys, Any Name’s Okay, Eliza Maturan, and so much more. Tickets are now available for sale, with more details on Jan’s social media.
Despite the busy schedule and back-to-back tour and performances, Jan is just beginning. Fans and OPM lovers should definitely keep Jan within their sights.
A mesmerizing entry into the RnB/Soul genre, Diorama’s NINO has just released his latest single, “Flutter, Lover,” a song that talks about personal aspirations, and a partner who’s got your back. When asked about the concept, NINO shared a poetic vision: “While writing, I was imagining myself lying in bed while looking up at a butterfly fluttering delicately above me. I wanted to be like the butterfly, free enough to hover in the air and be confident despite all my fragility.” A common theme of NINO’s songs, surrendering yourself to its melody and dreamy lyrics will put you in a daze — much like the gentle beat of a butterfly’s wings. His unique vocals paired with his imaginative lyrical narrative is a day dreaming combo.
More than the “flutter” portion of the song, “lover” reframes it through an intimate lens—as NINO puts it, “In another lens, I see the butterfly as my partner. Someone who exudes beauty, whom I admire deeply and inspires me to become a better version of myself.” Whether you’re drawn to the whimsical “flutter” side, the heartfelt “lover” perspective, or the blend of both emotional spectrums, “Flutter, Lover” will reel you in with its playful, sincere, and intimate vibes. Stream “Flutter, Lover” now on your favorite platforms, and follow NINO and Diorama FM on all social media platforms for updates.
Flutter, Lover NINO Hook: Flutter, lover Flutter, lover Discover your truest color Verse: Climbing up that tree Eating up all those leaves Make sure you take real good care of your gleam Wrapping yourself up into a cocoon You will soon come to bloom Then you’ll see what I mean Chorus: You’re so beautiful You light up my room The way you’re floating up in the air Makes my despair go away Bridge: Please stop glowing the way you are My heart can only take so much Verse: The way you part your hair From up above you stare The way you ride my vibes You make me come alive Your wings they hypnotize I realize I can’t deny You’re putting me under your spell Chorus: You’re so beautiful You light up my room The way you’re floating up in the air Makes my despair go away Hook: Flutter, lover Flutter, lover Show me your deepest colors Outro: You’re so beautiful You light up my room (Yeah)

Get ready to dance, shout, and lose yourself in the music. Experience the unstoppable, electrifying energy of rock icons FRANZ FERDINAND live!
About The Artist: FRANZ FERDINAND Franz Ferdinand — The Human Fear Ever since their beginnings, throwing illegal parties in condemned Glasgow buildings, Franz Ferdinand have been defined by a fresh, unfading, forward-facing outlook. A transgressive art-school perspective, but with a love of a big song. A big riff. A big idea. Somewhat contrary. Unafraid to dance. Unafraid to think. Unafraid to fear.
Their sixth studio album, The Human Fear, courses with an energy that makes you feel very much alive. Fear makes you feel alive. Awake. A life without fear is a life asleep. Fear is what shows us our humanity. It’s why we search for it in horror films or extreme physical activities. The most life-defining moments are shaped by fear: acknowledging, accepting, or overcoming it. All the good stuff is inseparable from fear. Commencing a relationship. The necessary vulnerability.Ending a relationship. Leaving an institution. Getting on that stage. To overcome fear, whether it’s fear of commitment, leaving an institution, or of isolation… What a buzz. What a reward.
While writing these new songs — many of which, beneath the immediacy of their choruses and melodies, allude to some fairly deep-set human fears — Franz Ferdinand released Hits To The Head, a retrospective of the previous 18 years. It sharpened the band’s perspective, allowing them to understand the essence of what made them work, while liberating them from the past. When you know who you are and are comfortable with it, you are free to go somewhere new. At this point in their career, Franz Ferdinand definitely know who they are, and are relishing the vigour that comes with accepting that.
There was a lot of writing before any recording. Then editing and arranging. For a swan to glide serenely, the feet have to kick like a motherfucker below the surface. The idea was to have a songbook before anything was recorded. No jamming. Texture, sonics and studio innovation are fine and thrilling, but superficial indulgence without good, solid songs.
Then the execution as rapidly as possible at AYR Studios, fuelled by the same agility that defined the songs on Hits To The Head. Few takes. The band in the room, playing together. That indescribable thing that happens when they do. The thrill of recording “The Birds” — one of the first songs they recorded — or thrashing out “The Doctor”’s deliriously energetic riff in about six minutes flat. Many of the vocals are the live takes, and those that aren’t were recorded under piles of coats, pillows and blankets in various bedrooms and cupboards across Paris, London, and Glasgow.
Overseeing the recording was producer Mark Ralph, a familiar collaborator who Franz Ferdinand worked with before on Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action. He gets it. Every reference, no matter how obtuse. Effortless. A very easy relationship. A great musician himself — a classical guitar child prodigy turned jazz musician turned pop producer to the stars — but also a good laugh. It has to be a laugh. It needs to be fun: even if the subject matter is dark, the joy of making it brings it to life. His perspective was invaluable.
At the heart of Franz Ferdinand is the relationship between Alex Kapranos and bassist Bob Hardy. They formed the band while working in a kitchen together, initially as an idea, then dredging Glasgow for accomplices. It is still the ideas which excite them before any of the music is made. Julian Corrie’s presence as a collaborator is also strong on this record. Fingers faster than an arpeggiator. Then there’s the dirt and attitude of Dino Bardot’s guitar and the sharp freshness of Audrey Tait’s beat, both of whom are on a full Franz Ferdinand album for the first time.
The cover artwork was inspired by Hungarian artist Dóra Maurer’s self-portrait 7 Twists. The visual side of the band has always been as important to them as the sound, and Maurer’s work appealed because it does exactly what they want from their music: a striking immediacy that is impossible to ignore, but with a depth and vulnerability that bears many returns and satisfactory repetition.
Maybe this is a set of songs about fear. But maybe all that chat about Human Fear is superfluous. Maybe this is just a set of bangers from an era-defining band continuing their unquestionably living legacy. Is that something to be afraid of?
Living a life awake. There is nothing that makes you feel more awake than The Human Fear.

Mico Hendrix Chua joins Bagets The Musical with charm, kilig, and a nod to the iconic Aga Muhlach role
Mico Hendrix Chua as Adie in Bagets The Musical shot on location at Hilton Manila Newport World Resorts
The wait comes to a thrilling close as Bagets The Musical reveals the cast for the final lead role. Mico Hendrix Chua is set to play the new-generation Adie, the baby-faced charmer first made iconic by Aga Muhlach in the beloved 1984 coming-of-age classic. Get ready to swoon over his dimples and boy-next-door vibe as he brings a fresh twist to the 2026 stage adaptation.
Chua makes an acting comeback as Adie The rising artist has been on stage since his teens, performing in local theaters in Iloilo before making the move to Manila. In 2021, he joined the reality show Born to Be a Star, which earned him a contract with VIVA. “After I signed, I had to move to Dubai, where I worked multiple jobs while studying,” he recalls. “I started as an admissions counselor, then became an administrator.” Despite the hiatus, the 22-year-old never let go of his love for the craft. “I had a pretty stable life abroad, but deep down, my heart was always with performing,” says Chua. “I can always go back to that life, but I’m not getting any younger. I want to give my all to what I truly love.” Now back in the Philippines, the stars have aligned for him. “This is my first project since I returned. During the auditions, I was anxious, especially with so many callbacks,” he continues. “At first, I didn’t expect anything. But the more I went through the process, the more I wanted the character.”
In the shoes of a classic Interestingly, Chua’s initial choice was not Adie. He had hoped to play Topee, a role he felt connected to because of their shared accent. The switch, however, turned out to be a blessing in disguise. “We’re a lot more alike than I thought,” he reflects. “I think many can relate when I say we’ve all had that time in our lives when we were young, naive, and just letting our emotions get the best of us.” The artist acknowledges moments of peer pressure and recklessness in his past—qualities that make embodying Adie feel like reconnecting with an old version of himself. Fans may remember the persona as a slightly confused romantic who juggles love, crushes, and meaningful connections. “I’ve had those encounters before—stealing glances at your crush and all. But it’s all in the past now,” he says. “I think I’ve matured since then.” The beauty of Bagets The Musical is that we can relive those moments and savor all the joy and buoyancy of youth.
Rising to the challenge Though he relates to the character, Chua admits the weight of portraying such an icon was real. “The pressure went higher, but it’s also a great challenge,” he concludes. “It means I get to give my best and portray someone as legendary as Aga Muhlach. I’m excited and deeply honored.” The rising star rounds out the new-generation lineup of Bagets The Musical. He will alternate performances with another VIVA artist, to be announced soon.
Bagets The Musical is scheduled to run from January 23 to March 2026 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. Joining Chua in the lead cast are Noel Comia Jr. and Tomas Rodriguez as Gilbert, Milo Cruz and Migo Valid as Tonton, Ethan David and KD Estrada as Arnel, and Jeff Moses and Sam Shoaf as Topee.
The musical is a joint production of VIVA Communications Inc, The Philippine STAR, and Newport World Resorts, guided by the creative vision of the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) Plus, with director Maribel Legarda, playwright J-mee Katanyag, and musical director Vince Lim. Bagets the Musical is also supported through a partnership with Sun Life Philippines.

Born and raised in Negros Occidental, Moses knows the weight of distance and the bittersweet pull of home. “Puli ‘ta Bacolod. Madalas ‘yung ‘yung sinasabi niya sa nanay niya (Let’s go home to Bacolod. That’s what he often tells his mother),” he shares. “Ako ramdam ko ‘yung bigat no’n kasi tuwing holidays na lang din ako nakakauwi sa’min. (I can really feel the weight of that because I only get to go home during the holidays.)”
After signing with GMA Sparkle Artist Center, Moses moved to Metro Manila, where he began building a career in film and television. He has since starred in Under a Piaya Moon, earning Best Actor at the 1st Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival, and appeared in the television series Abot Kamay na Pangarap and Magpakailanman. He was recognized as Outstanding Youth of the Philippines in the 2023 Philippine Outstanding Men & Women Awards.
“Si Topee kasi mabait, mature, at tinatratong pamilya ‘yung mga tropa niya (Topee is kind, mature, and treats his friends like family),” he continues. “Pero deep inside, may tinatagong vulnerability (But deep inside, he hides a vulnerability).”
Life does not make it easy for the beloved character. He is pushed to grow up fast, stand on his own, and figure things out.
“Kahit ganun, siguro ang gusto kong ma-realize ng mga manonood ng Bagets The Musical ay hindi mawawala ’yung pagiging young at heart natin (Even so, what I hope audiences take away from Bagets The Musical is that our being young at heart never goes away,) ” Moses concludes. “Pwede pa rin tayong sumaya o malungkot na parang bata (We can still feel joy or sadness like a child.”
The 24-year-old artist is looking forward to his first theater stint. He admits feeling nervous about performing on a stage with no take twos or edits, just raw, live acting.
Finding Topee in Sam Shoaf Sam Shoaf has a fun side unknown to most people. He loves the ’80s—the music, the fashion, the bright, lively colors. “Everything was just full of life back then,” he says.
It is the same spark he saw in Topee when he first watched the coming-of-age classic. “If he were alive today, I think he’d be the kind of guy obsessed with working out on TikTok, always on his phone but never missing the fun,” adds Shoaf.
This is the quality he shares with the character. The young artist is passionate about learning different forms of martial arts. His role in Ang Mutya ng Section E even gained popularity for its fighter edge. “I see a lot of similarities between me and Topee,” he shares. “We love staying active, but at the same time, I think we both prefer keeping much of what’s going on in our lives to ourselves.”
Most teenagers, or even adults, have felt emotions that are hard to explain. These feelings are at the heart of Bagets The Musical.“The story is about us,” he explains. “Just a different timeline, different variables, but the same plot.”
Having appeared on The Voice Kids Philippines and Your Face Sounds Familiar, Shoaf says he is excited to bring that heart to the stage through acting, singing, and dancing.
Such vibrant production captures that messy, thrilling ride of growing up. It shows that the magic of adolescence never truly disappears; it simply evolves over time.
Bagets The Musical is scheduled to run from January 23 to March 2026 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, with more cast members to be revealed soon. Joining Moses and Shoaf in the lead cast are Noel Comia Jr. and Tomas Rodriguez as Gilbert, Milo Cruz and Migo Valid as Tonton, and Ethan David and KD Estrada as Arnel.
